- Honda Civic Cruise Control and Radio Combination Switch Replacement. In this video I show how to replace a cruise control and radio combination switch on a Honda Civic. The cruise control switch not working is is a common problem on Hondas. The radio controls are also part of the combination switch on these models. The exact vehicle in this video is a 2006 Honda Civic EX Sedan. 2006-2008 Civics should be similar. Enjoy!

Great video! Hoping you can answer but where can i find replacement parts for 9th gen's cruise control and radio combination set?
Thank you for showing the part numbers on film and listing them in the description! Not every UA-cam video does this, it definitely sets you apart!
I try!
Lots of old eighth gen Civics out there to maintain. They're great cars. My own 2006 has 300k km (186k miles) and is still going strong in harsh a harsh winter climate with lots of short trips and city driving. No end in sight and has never let me down.
They are good little cars. Thanks for the input!
I'm back a year and 18k miles later because.... Yup.... My cruise control switch stopped working.
thank you for this video i replace the switch on a 2010 civic the steering wheel was a littler deferent but mostly alll the same minus the radio controls and then trim housing having the screws in a couple different places
Thanks for another great video! My cruise button just went out at 208k miles. Had to wedge a dime on top of the cruise button for a 1.5 hr drive just now. Part has been ordered though! Thanks for helping me maintain my beloved Civic!
Thanks ,, big help for tackling this cruise control replacement . Biggest challenge is getting the screws behind the steering wheel out. But really thats just adjusting the steering wheel to get at them ...Oh and good call on the 3 min wait after you disconnect the battery !
Always more than one way to do a job, thanks for the comment!
My 2008 Civic with 325k miles has this exact problem, for what the part cost I'll probably hold off on replacing or look for a pick and pull part. Great video though, very clearly shown.
I appreciate the comment, thanks!
Thank you, thank you, thank you. Did this yesterday. Biggest problem I had was the four screws on backside of steering wheel. They are in a weird angle and hard to get head of screw driver on. Also for anyone doing this you can turn the steering wheel to a get better angle.
👍
Another good video Dave.Thank you for the reminder to disconnect battery and wait 3 minutes plus before touching airbag. Safety first 👍👍👍
I appreciate the comment, thanks!
This is a Factory Quality work, like the Car came out of the assembly line. Great job!
Thanks!
He makes it look so easy.
Big Dog, another detailed very informative video! Thanks for sharing your knowledge with us.
Thank you for the comment Joe!
Great job Dave! keep 'em coming! And yes I too hate cheap plastic crap!
Cheap plastic sucks! Congrats on passing 13k subscribers Mike!
Excellent vid
What you mentioned at the end regarding the extractor socket, isn’t that 10mm extractor to big to even fit into the hole where the t30 screw is, looks like it to me. Thanks
Great job as always!!
I appreciate the comment, thank you!
Great video...... I am looking forward to having cruise control again. Where can I get this part? When clicking on the link and being redirected to Amazon, the page indicates this part is currently out of stock. Thanks
Worked perfectly :) thanks
No problem 👍!
Can you reuse the airbag assembly screws if you reapply some thread adhesive? I’m assuming that is the only reason Honda calls for their replacement.
When it comes to safety devices like an SRS system, I will always stick to what Honda (or the manufacturer) says.
Very informative
Good day.
Please refer to the installation of the N2052 car radio in the Honda Civic R18A2 |Hatchback. Thank you.
I'm about to go attempt this now. I left my stubby screw driver in my other vehicle at my mother's but I'm gonna make it work.
👍
Nice job sir
Thank you!
Thank you somuch
You bet 👍!
Great video, I have a 2008 Honda Civic Ex and when I use my turn signals my hazards also come on. I check all my fuses and lights bulbs and everything is in good working order. Would you happen to know what could be my issues? I was trying to find a relay for the hazards/turn signals but can not find the location of one. Thank you
What brand is that long torx you using
Those are the Neiko set I have.
What is the code for the radio? I’m going to attempt this soon.
Great video
Thanks!
Great video! My 2006 Honda Civic LX doesn’t have the radio controls. Can I buy this assembly and add it?
no
Your a super teacher ... Thanks a lot that is what's wrong with my car...i now know amma get it right on my day off sunday.Self doer☺✌thanks for the help 4real...lol
Thanks 👍!
Hello Thanks for the video ! Great explanation ! Do you know if this work for the european version (hatchback) this is the exact same wheel though
I don't have access to service info for European models but I suspect it is similar if not the same. Thanks for the comment!
Good video
Thanks!
Sir plz diagnostic e, c, m wair cruze speed
Thank you for the video ... very well done ...
I would like to know a technical information.
My Cruise Control doesn't work the same as in the video!
In my Honda Civic 2009, I only have the right Cruise control and not the left one, if I put the same suggested in the video? will this work?
What do we do next for the radio code?
Thank you it is appreciated
You should be able to get the cruise-only side. I know you can add the audio side but I think a wire or two must be added to the connector. I'm not sure. The EX and Si trims have both cruise and audio controls.
As for the radio code, just put the code in and that's it. If you don't have the code, hold 1 & 6 then press power and you'll get a number. Call Honda and give them that number and they'll find the code.
So my husband said not to worry about the radio code since I don’t use the controls on my steering wheel but now my radio won’t work at all. Can I put the code in now? Any idea how I can fix this? Thanks!
Please help cruise control add 2007 fd1 prewired and all steps please sir.
Will the cruise control work if you replace a steering wheel that didn't have the cruise control function?
lol

Will the Honda Combination Switch 36770-SNA-A12 that you linked to Amazon work on a 2010 Civic EX? Amazon says it doesn't but it looks exactly the same. Thank you so much for video!
Yup the A12 is for 06-08 models only. It should be the SNA-A11 or the SVA-A41, did you find out by any chance?
36770-SVA-A41 is the part # for 2009 civic
Hi I have a 2008 Honda Civic Ex and when I use my turn signals my hazards come on at the same time. I check all my fuses and light bulbs but no luck. Would you happen to know about this issue and the fix thank you.
Both of those are input signals to the Multiplex Integrated Control Unit (MICU), which is what controls the lights (the gauge control module/instrument cluster also plays a role). The MICU is the fuse/relay box under the dash and is basically a "smart" fuse box. The MICU/circuit is probably going to need some troubleshooting based on your comment.
I just jammed a penny into the slot on mine. It's super ghetto, but it only cost 1 cent to fix. Super annoying how this is such a common failure point on these Civics, along with the rear door actuator, and AC compressor.
i found it’s not good to leave the cruise main switch pressed in always pop it back out when you shutting the car down
That torx kinda looks like a gearwrench
Daum that's alot of things to disconnect it will never be the same after all that guaranteed
