Very nice and interesting video Adam! Great job on the different rig. Looking forward to watching the setup for the R2, quite curious about it. Just a quick one: how did you power the focus motors from the R2? Cheers, Chris
Hi Adam, what do you use on the DJI Ronin 4D Hand Grips stick, in one of the videos it looks like you have a plastic straw over the Hand Grip stick to make it more gimbal operator friendly?
It's good that you can use the DJI TX/RX combo for the RS4Pro, instead of the ravenEye. Using the Ronin 4D monitor as the receiver to pull focus comes in handy as well. Seems like there is a lot more integration between DJI and Tilta. Thanks for the review Adam! 👍
That is a Segway Ninebot. Great little unit. Knee steering control. Fine for lighter setups and a fraction of the cost of the full size Segway when modified for filmmaking. Love mine.
I'm still trying to figure out if the Rs four pro combo comes with the lidar? Some of the youtubers were making it seem that way. But on DJI's website, I'm not seeing that So if I have the RS2 pro combo, would I be able to get the focus pro combo and switch the handles?.

Not necessarily at once but for my workflow it would be really beneficial to be able to have the ability to set focus from the high bright monitor, and then swap to controlling the zoom motor?
Your last video on the cable hub and setup was very useful. Will you be making a video showing how this could all work on a komodo for example with the cable hub? Do you even need the cable hub anymore?

Do you know if there will be any way to make the grip speak wirelessly to the gimbal, lidar and DJI motors? Seems like a limitation that the grips needs to be hard-wired to communicate with anything. Perhaps that wireless link could be done via high-bright monitor, so it performs similarly to a R4D handgrip, but with the ability to control lidar via the grip's touch-screen and also be more affordable than 2 x R4D grips?
Are you going above the 10lbs (4.5kg) with any of these rigs on the RS4 Pro? I want to fly a 10mm ultra prime with a c70 on one and that combo without motors is right at 9lbs...
You're one of the few to show how tracking still tracks a subject with competing objects or when the subject is obscured or disappears temporarily. Question: how good is LiDAR-enabled ActiveTrack Pro in low light? If ActiveTrack is using LiDAR to find and track a subject, in theory it could still lock onto and track a subject even in the dark. Have you have tested low light or difficult light conditions? Thanks!
Thanks for this very in-depth review! Question, will the older DJI LiDAR Range Finder still work with the RS 4 Pro? Will I have any cable/power management issues if I use the old LiDAR Range Finder+Transmission+RS 4 Pro?
It's hard for me to describe it in %, but I think with a big heavy camera (komodo/pocket 6k pro or similar) it's in my opinion about 30 % better stabilization
Hey Adam, you have done a terrific job reviewing the system, in my opinion the best one so far I found on the internet. Question for you- if you were to compare the AF from the lidar to something like the AF on R5 or FX3, would you say its as "sticky" or its more of a Nikon situation where the AF has issues sometimes. Thanks!
Hey @bestboyadam - I can't find this information anywhere, does the Ronin 4D handgrip knob rotate on its own in AMF mode the way the focus pro grip does when using the lidar module?
Amazing video, really looking forward to the next tutorials about the Focus Pro. I've looked into setting DJI LIDAR up on a shoulder-rig RED V-RAPTOR but this looks like the better way now. What do I need to connect the Focus Pro to the V-Raptor and DJI Transmission? The Focus Pro, a Focus Pro Grip, Focus Motor, DJI Transmission? And also a cable hub? I was curious about the app - I wonder if you get waveform "top down" feedback via the app? I know ou have the high bright monitor so it probably didn't occur to check it out, but sometimes I use an ipad air for the ronin ap for additional controls and it would be really sweet if it did have the function! ... 2nd, I know the rs2 and 3 didn't have this simple function: you could do a timelapse w/ focus points programmed as waypoints, but setting up a tracking shot with waypoints you could NOT add focus points which was a huge missed opportunity. An example is you could setup a shot where you program pan and tilt from one character to another at different distances - but would be great to be able to program the focus too (which you CAN do for timelapse mode) I doubt rs4 changed that as it's not an immediately obvious cool feature. Cheers!
