SORRY FOR THE SPOILERS GUYS BUT BUMI AND ALL THE NEW AIRBENDERS CAN BEND BECAUSE OF THAT 🟣 ENERGY THAT WENT AROUND THE 🌎 AND GHAZAN IS A LAVABENDER GUYS 💯👍
The voice of Zaheer is voiced by Punk legend Henry Rollins. As the season goes on you'll start to feel why his character's ideals are so believable and passionate.
My favorite detail of that scene is that Meelo was shocked that Bumi actually managed to stop it, meaning he was fully expecting to bean his uncle in the face with that plate.
The talks about bringing balance to the the world and harmonic convergence allude to the fact that airbending came back because their nation was wiped out, which most likely disrupted the balance of the nations. So I think harmonic convergence made the change to balance out the elements
Keep in mind this dude was a menace before he got bending. Look how fast he was able to pick up airbending after getting it as well. Zaheer is a beast, you'll see ;)
Well it wasn't instant...he probably practiced the 3 weeks he got before the white lotus showed up to feed him...plus he was already a believer of an airbending master so the spiritual side was probably easy to master
@@lunasongbird9586 Alson, he is an airbender/ air nomad fanatic. That stuff that Korra was "forced" to learn in season 1, he probably did throughout his life out of joy
@@lunasongbird9586 It was just the next shift of guards that was coming in 3 weeks. He wouldn't be able to survive if they only fed/gave him water every 3 weeks. I'm sure he was guarded non-stop but with different groups that exchange over a period of time. Also, I never understood why he made that sound so menacing leaving them in there, because they had an earth bender (that I'm pretty sure is also a metal bender) guard that could easily bust through the wall or floor and also firebenders that could melt the bars given enough time 🤷♀️
@@bananies12 Right, at the start of the ep the recap sates it's been two weeks since the harmonic convergence so he's possibly been practicing for two weeks anyway.
There‘s a theory out there that the dragon Zuko has came from the golden gemstone he and Aang found right before being trapped. When he‘s holding it, he mentions that it almost feels alive and it does look much like an egg.
Yeah and the creators have already confirmed that Zuko's dragon is a descendent of Ran and Shaw. So, the theory that it was actually an egg makes more sense
I absolutely love the parallel of soooo many airbenders manifesting in the Earth Kingdom, which is the natural opposite of Air and the element that Aang struggled with the most!
Not only does Korra have a glider now... she appears to have Aang's old glider. Not his original one, the replacement one that the inventor guy made for him. It's not a traditional Air Nomad glider either way
7.55 Such an underrated scene. Tenzin knew his father's greatest wish was to rebuild the Air Nation. The Air acolytes are a good compromise for carrying on the traditions and beliefs but they could never truly carry on the Air bending. At most he would be able to train the next two maybe three generations of Airbenders if he was lucky enough to stay healthy and his kids got really busy. He never thought he'd have the chance to rebuild an entire nation. But now he has the chance because almost like a miracle there are suddenly new Air Benders in the world.
I don't think there's a canon explanation for how it's accomplished but, correct me if I'm wrong. I always assumed it was the Earthbending equivalent of a waterbender freezing water. It seemed that benders have some sort of temperature control over their element.
@@cmac3530 similar to fire benders being able to intensify there flames heat also lighting bending considering lighting is just electron movement it implies that they also have election control associated with their elements
Welcome to the BEST season of Korra My ranking 1. season 3 2. season 4 3. season 1 4. season 2 All seasons are good but this one goes so deep, I am so curious how y'all like it
Season 3 is definitely my favorite. Surprised of your choice of Season 4 as your second choice. I'd put Season 1 ahead slightly bur to each there own. Season 2 starts strong and has some amazing scenes but kind of fizzles at the end.
A little bit of background context: this was the season of Korra when Nickelodeon was giving the creators a very hard time, constantly changing the airtime, then ultimately pulling it from cable into a stream-only viewing. Thankfully fans were very supportive of Bryke and this was ultimately a great, if not the best season!
Yesssss time for one of the best bad guys ever! Zaheer is so complex, I can't wait to see how you guys view him! And yes, Lord Zuko's grand entry, the freak outs whenever people first meet him is awesome. This season is awesome and you can tell even with this first episodes setting it up.
Lava bending is just earth bending but causing tons of small vibrations to increase heat through friction. Roku actually did this a few times in the original series.
Reason we aren’t surprised about it as much when Roku or other flashback avatars is because we assume they are just fire bending and earth bending at the same time, where as this technique would clearly have to be solely earth bending since he isn’t an avatar
The Air Nomads were destroyed in the Fire Nation genocide and the only remaining airbenders are Tenzin's family and Korra. There were enough other benders, but airbending was out of balance, which is why the new balance after Harmonic Convergence created new airbenders.
Fun food for thought, Zaheer just became an air bender. They had a Non Bender in a fucking Secluded Mountain Prison with no one else there behind locks and chains.
So many reveals! I don’t know if you have already gotten an explanation or not, but guy in the wooden prison IS an earth bender, he’s just our first ever specialist in… lava bending! I think the reasoning is that he can rotate the earth fast enough to heat it up? I can’t remember the exact method. So excited to see you guys react to this season!
Hands down one of my FAVORITE Korra seasons. One of the things I love most is that every one of Korra's villains had admirable goals, good intentions, but were going about things in the wrong way. Zaheer is terrifying not because of his abilities, but the truth that resounds within his very twisted logic. Love him so much.
I know the lava can be confusing at first but when you think about it, Gazan can’t be anything but an Earthbender. He’s imprisoned in a wooden cage (like Toph was in season 3) in the middle of the ocean (like Haru was in season one). And he needed the rocks to bend. Firebenders don’t need anything to bend and good luck containing a fire bender in a wooden cell on a wooden boat.
We see Waterbenders transform water from liquid to solid state all the time. Ghazan goes the opposite way with earth. Of course it requires an absurd temperature to melt it, probably achieved by pressurizing the rocks causing a lot of friction that heat it up
Ghzan is an earthbender! Magma can be bent by earthbender since it's a form of ""soil"" / ""earth"". Of course is not like regular rocks/ dirt, but just because something is hot doesn't mean it's made by firebenders. I'm pretty sure waterbenders can heat up water with their bending, wich is different from when Iroh heat up his tea cup.
One of my favorite fan-found Easter Eggs from the first episode of Book 3: Tenzin, Aang´s lil doppleganger, found out that Bumi could airbend in the exact same way that the original King Bumi made Aang out himself as an airbender 😅
There’s a cool theory about why air benders are coming back, basically when the comic hit and the air benders were killed , a lot of air benders were not at the temples and they are nomads so travel around so the ones that were not there went into hiding and over time probably started families and if there kids did get air bending they were probably not trained and told to hide it so over time it came less dominant and appeared less and less over the generations, but with the events in book 2 with all the new spiritual shift and energy it It woke the Dormant gene in ppl that are probably descended from air benders such a bumi A lot of ppl were from the earth kingdom that got air bending was probably caused it’s was the easiest nation to hide in
Not really. The harmonic convergence and the spirit realm tried to balance out the world and the spiritual energy in it. Because the air nomads were completely wiped out, the new ones started popping up everywhere, since their energy was lacking during the convergence + being the most spiritual of all the nations might've had smth to do with that as well, there wasn't enough of their energy. The air nomads wouldn't have gone into hiding, they lived separately from everyone else because they distanced themselves from the rest of the world and all the earthly possessions and attachments. And just like we saw with Gyatso, they were trying to fight till the end but were all murdered
@@vallire7499 I mean the theory also has some valid points. Not sure if you read the Kyoshi novels or how canon those are, but without spoiling it for others, there is some evidence that there are some air nomads who do leave the air nation. The cool thing the novels mentioned about air nomads, as you pointed out, they are the most spiritual of the 4 nations and therefore, unlike other nations, everyone from the air nation can bend. However, the novels do say that air nomads ability to bend can weaken when they abandon their spiritual lifestyle. This theory has its merits because, if there were air nomads who fled and hid, they most likely abandoned their typical lifestyle and therefore overtime, their innate air bending abilities suffered. Again these are just theories, but it would be interesting to see the lore further explored in the upcoming series.
Interesting theory, very Order 66. It has some nice points. Like all of the air nation wasn't at the temples (not everyone in the other nations is a bender). That part at least makes decent sense. Though I'm more for that it was just a side effect of harmonic convergence balancing itself out again.
pretty sure it was just a result of harmonic convergence. when the world was enveloped in spiritual energy. thank goodness for Korra opening the portals ♥️
And now the best season of the franchise begins. Proudly I can say the person who voices Zaheer is a distant cousin of mine. I have never talked with him, but I did talk to his grandmother on her 100th birthday.
You guys seem to underestimate how much of problem Zaheer actually is after episode 1. He was locked away on top of a mountain & had to stand far away from the guards before the gave him food & that was with him not having powers, his use of air bending is incredible showing he was a very dangerous fighter already & incorporated his air bending into it.
I'm so excited to see you react to this season! zahir is one of the best written characters in animation history and the way korra is portrayed to deal with the trauma from her past is extremely well done.
Only new airbenders makes sense from a balance pov. The other 3 elements have plenty of benders. This is beginning to rebalance the 4 nations, the spirits, and the world
When oak said "slow down you can air bend you are not gonna take on the avatar" Plus how they said korra had to fight a big bad boss so what is gonna challenge her now. Well... It is the airbending guy and a few others.. And they are by far the scariest thing she or anng ever had to face. More than some mythical evil creature...
I literally glanced at the thumbnail and the intro aka "Somebody call a doctor, because Badd Medicine is in the house!" Just blasted through my head unconsciously. I didn't even register it until I clicked on the video and heard it said out loud. They got me. The subliminal programming. I'm like a dog with a bell. What have I become? What have they made me?!?!
Uhuhuhu, you underestimating Zaheer at the end of episode 1 is actually very fun for me. As Doc Brown once said: "You're about to see some serious shit."
about air benders popping up, the harmonic resonance just put everything back in balance. Since there was very few air benders, only them got replanished so that there's as much airbending as the other elements. the guy in the wood prison is an earth bender who can lavabend.
second guy is a lava bender - special earthbender subset.... As for how you get people to fight for the queen - there is a long tradition of conscripted militaries - likely throughout history more people have been conscripts than volunteers.
I think because the air benders where wiped out til their was only one family left, it makes sense that people are getting random air bending powers, the spirits are all about balance and there's one element that is so out of balance
lmao already underestimating Zaheer, also Ghazan is an earthbender who can bend lava, when you think about it shifting the phase of matter isn't that different from waterbenders freezing and unfreezing water, so it makes sense that talented earthbenders would be able to do something similar. Also the most common theory is that the air nomad genocide threw the world out of balance and harmonic convergence essentially hit the reset button, giving people air bending to restore balance.
Them showing how good Zaheer is as fast as he is is to emphasize how dangerous he was without bending, Gazan was probably born to a firebender and an earthbender
Gazan is "just" an earth bender with a special sub class. He compressed the stones so hard that they begann to melt and became lava. Like water benders have the rare blood-bender, earthbenders have the very rate lava-benders.
@@griffinhatchling yes but later in the season we learn how rare it is and based on what we see on who all uses it later it's safe to assume that having mixed bending parents might help trying not to give spoilers
AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH I'VE BEEN WAITING SO LONG FOR THISSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS This is, as far as I'm concerned, the single best season of ANYTHING in the ATLAverse. This is the peak. This is better than all of the rest of LOK and ATLA. It's truly *incredible*.
I was 10 years old when legend of Korra came out & I cannot describe the excitement when I realized the next avatar was a girl. Major nostalgia and joy from this reaction
19:28 That's the Glaive, from the movie Krull ... not to be mistaken for a chakram or the historical glaive, which doesn't even look closely like the 5 bladed star xD Would certainly be a fun retro watch xD
For me, this is easily the best season. The best villains, the best characters, just everything is *chefs kiss*. Also fun fact: Mako and Bolin's grandmother is the girl Zuko took out on the date in the Tales of Ba Sing Se episode.
This is easily my favourite Book/season of Legend of Korra. Both because of the villains and because of what's done with Lin Beifong and her family, which helps make her my favourite character in the show.
Was the movie that you couldn't remember the name of Krull? Krull was a 1983 sci-fi fantasy and there was a weapon used often in it with the same shape that the prisoner earthbender used to escape the prison.
Minor spoilers for season three It makes a lot of sense that Zuko would step down as fire lord before passing away. I think it's what Iroh would have done, even without the tragic events that occurred. Of course Iroh could never have surrendered power to Ozai if he had the choice but if Zuko raised his daughter well and trusted her judgment I can absolutely see him passing the torch on proudly before spending the last years of his life doing his own thing.
The second baddie is an earth bender who mostly lava bends. The way water benders can freeze water, he heats up earth. Just the villain team has one of each
Here we go. Wow time flies I've been waiting for you guys to get to season 3. I'll guess and say you guys will enjoy this more than a lot of avatar and Korra both.
I mean it kinda makes sense that it would only be Airbenders that appeared because when it's all about the world restoring its balance again - and I'm sure that there is still enough Water, Fire and Earthbenders as well as non- benders - then it would make sense that the Airnation was to rebuild itself through the spirits after it was wiped out during the genozide by Firelord Sozin which caused a huge unbalance in the world.
11:34 Yeah but look at the precautions they went to for him when he was a NON-bender… clearly demonstrates he’s someone who’s incredibly dangerous. Now give him a tool as string as bending, let alone AIR-bending (a bending people have not grown accustomed to dealing with over the last 200 years.)
There's a theory out there that says that the airbender genocide didn't actually kill all the airbenders off, but some of them went into hiding because they were being looked for by the fire nation. And what happened was, because they were unable to practice their bending or their spirituality freely. They gradually began to lose their powers because airbending is such a spiritual element. And so You have all these airbenders around the world who gradually lose their powers. But they still have kids. They still lead normal lives, but they just don't have airbending anymore. And so there's a theory that what we're seeing here is the descendants of those surviving airbenders gaining access to their powers again.
@Badd Medicine - 19:30 - You’re thinking of the Glaive, from the movie Krull. Edit - Also, Robbie Coltrane (the actor who played Hagrid in the Harry Potter movies) is also in it.
This season is amazing top tier gem, even 3/4 of season 4 is great...I only don't like last episodes of s4 😕 Love your channel guys and can't wait for more content in Arcade❤️

Hell yes!! I was having a hard time yesterday so this being uploaded today helps so much
Uhuhuhu, you underestimating Zaheer at the end of episode 1 is actually very fun for me.
The best villain from this series, Zaheer.
These two season are my favourite
yall starting the best season of Korra
19:27 Everyone but Oak just asleep right now.
Love the reactions so much my favorite YT channel on YT. Thank you so much for making my day everyday
Henry Rollins' voice acting as Zaheer is God Tier
This is my favorite season of Korra
I’m excited to watch your reactions you guys!🤩
I think because the air benders where wiped out til their was only one family left, it makes sense that people are getting random air bending powers, the spirits are all about balance and there's one element that is so out of balance
Best season of Korra so enjoy the ride guys! It will be intense for sure. It’s definitely on the same level as ATLA.
lmao already underestimating Zaheer, also Ghazan is an earthbender who can bend lava, when you think about it shifting the phase of matter isn't that different from waterbenders freezing and unfreezing water, so it makes sense that talented earthbenders would be able to do something similar. Also the most common theory is that the air nomad genocide threw the world out of balance and harmonic convergence essentially hit the reset button, giving people air bending to restore balance.
Mason you didn’t know how right you were with Kai. That air bending army was a hefty source of discipline for him.
James Remar's Voice as Tonraq is so recognizable....to be honest he will be good for audio books, and yes season 3 for me was the best one...
AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH I'VE BEEN WAITING SO LONG FOR THISSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS
This is, as far as I'm concerned, the single best season of ANYTHING in the ATLAverse. This is the peak. This is better than all of the rest of LOK and ATLA. It's truly *incredible*.
6:06 Tenzin with the blep face 😂
The best villian of the Avatar Franchise is finally here. The Goat has arrived and is so impactful
I was 10 years old when legend of Korra came out & I cannot describe the excitement when I realized the next avatar was a girl. Major nostalgia and joy from this reaction
19:28
That's the Glaive, from the movie Krull ... not to be mistaken for a chakram or the historical glaive, which doesn't even look closely like the 5 bladed star xD
Would certainly be a fun retro watch xD
6:06 one of my favorite little jokes.
Thank you for editing!🙏🔥📈
To quote one of my favorite anime reaction channels "You know you got a problem when you got your villains locked away like Legend of Zelda bosses.
Finally! My favourite book ! Zaheer and Amon are the best "bad guys"! In my opinion the Earthqueen is the villain! Greetings from Germany❤
For me, this is easily the best season. The best villains, the best characters, just everything is *chefs kiss*. Also fun fact: Mako and Bolin's grandmother is the girl Zuko took out on the date in the Tales of Ba Sing Se episode.
Wait, she is? Where is that confirmed? What a cool parallel!
is it confirmed? cause the girl from atla was named jin but the grandma is named yin
The weapon he made out of earth - You're thinking of The Glaive from Krull.
This is easily my favourite Book/season of Legend of Korra. Both because of the villains and because of what's done with Lin Beifong and her family, which helps make her my favourite character in the show.
This book was breathtaking, mind blowing, electrifying and groundbreaking!!!! So excited for your next reactions!!!!
Was the movie that you couldn't remember the name of Krull? Krull was a 1983 sci-fi fantasy and there was a weapon used often in it with the same shape that the prisoner earthbender used to escape the prison.
Minor spoilers for season three
It makes a lot of sense that Zuko would step down as fire lord before passing away.
Just the villain team has one of each
Best season, best antagonist !!!!👌🏿🔥💯
By far the best season of TLOK. Can't wait for you to see it in all of its glory!!!
THIS IS IT THIS IS WHAT WE’VE BEEN WAITING FOR
The prison escape scenes are soooo F* good
I can't wait for you guys to see the rest. Such a great season!
11:34 Yeah but look at the precautions they went to for him when he was a NON-bender… clearly demonstrates he’s someone who’s incredibly dangerous. Now give him a tool as string as bending, let alone AIR-bending (a bending people have not grown accustomed to dealing with over the last 200 years.)
pressurising earth into magma = Lavabending
Ghazan is a lavabender. Kinda like Firebender can be lightningbender. If see on Zuko's looks, he looks like Avatar Roku with Firelord Sozin's beard.
This is without a doubt the best season of Korra. Zaheer is a 10/10 villain
My favorite season of avatar, period. The dopest villain of avatar, period. I know y’all will love it. Been waiting on this edit for awhile now
There's a theory out there that says that the airbender genocide didn't actually kill all the airbenders off, but some of them went into hiding because they were being looked for by the fire nation.
Ghazan is a Lava bender ❤❤❤
Possibly the best Book not just in Korra, but all of “Avatar.” 😊
@Badd Medicine - 19:30 - You’re thinking of the Glaive, from the movie Krull.
Edit - Also, Robbie Coltrane (the actor who played Hagrid in the Harry Potter movies) is also in it.
This season is amazing top tier gem, even 3/4 of season 4 is great...I only don't like last episodes of s4 😕
Love your channel guys and can't wait for more content in Arcade❤️
