1000% a lot of people say jazz is just nothing but elevator music but not music like this. That swinging good time type of jazz that really just gets your fingers snapping
@VoiceNerd Jazz and blues is amazing music that is not appreciated like it used to. But it really is a base for alot of the newer genres of music now.
As a graphic designer I’ve always hated when people class animated movies as kids films. Sure the promotion for films like this are aimed towards children as they get the whole family involved, but every animated film I’ve ever watched has always been catered for all ages. There are SO many 2000-2010 animated films they need to watch and I’m glad this is one of them!
My best friend and I watched this in theaters when this came out. That "Kitty!" at the end absolutely hit us two grown men in the feels. Instantly wiping tears away. 🥰
YOU GOTTA LOVE MONSTER INC. 😂😂 Mike: Can I borrow your odorant? Sulley: Yeah, I got, uh, Smelly Garbage or Old Dumpster. Mike: You got, uh, Low Tide? Sulley: No. Mike: How about Wet Dog? Sulley: Yep. Stink it up.
At 10:44 - 2319 stands for “white sock” because W and S are the 23rd and 19th letters of the alphabet! 😆 Another fun fact: The people making the movie couldn’t get the child actor playing Boo to stay still enough to properly record her lines, so they decided to just follow her around and record anything and everything she says/sings while she played around in the studio! A lot of her dialogue in the movie is what they succeeded in recording of her while she was playing! 😊 Thanks for always reacting to these great animated movies!! It’s be amazing if you guys could react to 1998’s Mulan, 1992’s Aladdin, or 1997’s Hercules!! Those are my personal favorites in regard to the lessons, character arcs/growth, and iconic music! Thanks again for the entertaining reactions, keep up the great work! - Your friend from California, Brittany ☀️🌇
Whenever the fellas are watching an animated movie, I'm HERE FOR IT!! 😂😂 Still rewatch you HTTYD reaction.. You guys might need to go through the Disney Renaissance era movies if you haven't seen em, either: Hunchback, Hercules, Beauty & the Beast, Pocahontas, Mulan, Sleeping Beauty.
I’m 23. 24 in a week. And you guys always bring me back to my childhood when you watch older animated movies. You guys are absolutely hilarious and I love watching your videos. ❤❤❤
Loved the Morgan scene you guys did there! Congrats on another sponsor! Loved your reactions at 34:41 & 35:11 😄 Oak's reaction when Boo got scared of Sulley. Interesting story concept of having fear from kids to power their 'world' but liked as story progressed they find out laughter is better, as the saying goes "laughter is th4 best medicine" & all your laughter reactions are just that! ^_^ nice seeing character development between Boo, Sulley & Wazowski , very heartwarming ending to the movie.
the adult joke with the yellow snow😂😂😂 absolute perfection one of my favorite Pixar classics! Would you guys be interested in watching Guillermo del Torro's Pinocchio ? It's animated in Stop Motion and such a great re- telling of the tale and not necessarily a movie targeted towards kids If you ask me.
15:19 It's become a really fun and accepted fan theory that the kid they're talking about here is actually Jack Jack. If you remember that he has so many powers and can travel through dimensions. Obviously that wasn't the original intension but looking back now it fits really well😂
I remember taking my now grown daughter to see this and Sully's fur looking so soft and real you wanted to reach out and touch it. The animation was still so new and incredible!
Fun fact: Boo is actually speaking English, but the movie has been modified that we can understand what the monsters are saying, but we can't understand what Boo is saying.
They recorded her lines by chasing the child who voiced her because she wouldn't sit still They chased her around with a boom mic and the mental image makes me laugh lol
Mike on DVD box covers and other places had his face covered as a continuous running gag. The DVD cases had stickers that were directly over him, you can look it up lol For Boo, they follow one of the artists daughters around with a microphone and cut her lines together using the random things/noises she say whilst playing.
Please watch the bloopers because thry contain the actual company show of 'Put that thing back where it came from or so help me'. Mike's new car was a short included on the video when it came out (it was my last big movie I got on video) and I remember really enjoying that
I remember how much I looked forward to this movie. The power of Pixar is the ability to tell a believable story through the delight that is animation. Pure adult escapism
One of my all time favourite childhood movies! Takes me way back! Youre never too old for these movies! So glad you got round to this one! Loving your content guys! 👍👌🤘😎💯🔥
I'm 24 years old now but my parents still like to remind me of how they dressed me up like Boo when I was like 2 during Halloween one year because I looked a lot like her when I was that age... I would wear this movie out when I was little and it's still one of my favorites even as an adult probably because of all the memories...
There is a actual sequel to this. Its a show called Monsters at Work. Season 1 takes place directly after Waternoose's arrest. Mike & Sully are around but they arent main characters, while it focuses on new characters. Season 2 is the direct sequel taking place after the end of the movie. Season 2 brings back characters from the prequel Monsters University. The show expands on the change from scare power to laugh power. They actually manage to bring back the majority of the cast back, the one person who i can remember they replaced is Jennifer Tilly for Season 2. Honestly while Season 1 is a tough watch, i think Season 2 is much better and better expanding the whole change from scare to laugh, while exploring what the Monster world thinks about the change.
You should definitely check out Monsters University. Monsters at Work is also fun! It’s a show that takes place right at the end of this movie as they experience the chaos of switching to laugh power and a monster who just got here for a new scaring job.
Im usually not a big fan of kid characters in films because i find them annoying or just getting in the way of the plot, but Boo is one of my top favorite kid characters in films up there with Akiko from Godzilla Minus One/Newt from Aliens/Alex from The Mummy Returns. Just her giggles and the way says "KITTY!!" are so adorable
I love the nod to Ray Harryhausen. (The name of the restaurant.) He created loads of stop-motion monster effects in his day. Generations of us grew up watching them. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ray_Harryhausen
Buscemi in Italian - Bu SHEM ee. Steve pronounces it Bu Sem ee. Monsters University was the prequel. 1996 was when it started to be developed from an idea that came about when Toy Story was almost completed. Fun fact: John Ratzenberger was in the original Star Wars Trilogy. In The Empire Strikes back, he played Major Derlin, who informed Princess Leia that the shield doors must be closed when Han and Luke had not returned for the night.
A little side note: The miserable Spider boss is based on the evil Mr. Potter from "It's a Wonderful Life" Christmas movie starring Jimmy Stewart. Stewart even referrers to Potter as a spider in one scene. ;)
I believe they said in the making of Monster's Inc that they had to run after the little girl voicing Boo with a microphone, to get all those noises, since she was a kid and wouldn't sit still.
To Oak, I'd like to mention another perspective on "using screams" and to a parent, this might come off, exactly the way Oak percieved it, but imagine being 5, 6, 7, maybe seeing Boo being unafraid, or Sully behaving kindly, might help them realize that the "monsters" they are afraid of aren't trying to hurt them, so in this story, not everything scary is bad, and not everyone who is friendly is good, I think stories like this that explore fear safely are an awesome change from, ugly equals villain and pretty equals hero, the morals of the story work regardless of your age, and they grow with you, such talented loving people creating beautiful art for all of us❤
The interview with the monster, saying mine powers and a laser beams is probably actually jackjacked from The Incredibles. Yes, because in the second one that they figured out he might be teleporting dimensions
Most of my kids childhoods, we weren't able to afford movie theater trips often BUT we bought everything we could on v.h.s, one of the reasons we like Pixar and DreamWorks movies, are, for one, great original stories that are entertaining regardless of a person's age, and also, because they don't talk down to children, they don't dumb down complicated or scarey subject matter, they trust kids to get it. It may seem over mature at times, but honestly the younger parents are when they can become comfortable with those tough topics, the easier discussing them with your kids becomes 😊 Aside from having beautiful animation, modern family movies are great because the depths of the story becomes more clear as you age and rewatch them, thank goodness for the storytellers ❤
The last movie Billy Crystal was in was “Here Today” released in 2021. His latest project is on Apple TV, a thriller series called “Before” that premiered in October
I like the idea that the monsters are more scared of the kids and that the only reason they scare them is because they have to. That way little kids watching the movie might walk away less afraid.
How surreal to see an ad for a lawfirm. 🤯 The thought that someone would have to get a lawyer themselves if hurt at work is just alien to me. America is a strange place for sure. 😮
MY ABSOLUTELY FAVOURITE PIXAR MOVIE!! 😍 I have been waiting for this upload for years! I was born in the year 2000, 24 years old now, 1 when the movie was released. I just set a land speed record to click on this!! I remember hearing that the animators had to create the technology to animate the fur. They were told that there was a 7ft monster covered in fur and they said "Great, hopefully it's a minor character." Then they found out it was the main character!
Monsters At Work is a tv show its got 2 seasons its pretty good and a sequel and I hope you guys watch the original Bloopers and the full song of "Put that thing back where it came from" has a whole song
Another fav childhood movie. Such a good story and the animation is dope. Speaking of, yall need to check out treasure planet. One of the most under rated films I've seen. Animation is truly wild. Used the Tarzan canvas tech for the WHOLE movie. Insane stuff. The message is really sound too.
There's a theory that the reason monsters believe human children are toxic is because the technology in the monster world is so advanced that they've been scaring kids since Medieval times when the Black Plague was in full effect

It’s not in the cut, but Monsters Inc has one of the most iconic intros ever. The music and animation style are super recognizable

Disney always puts an Easter egg for their upcoming movies in the animations
Love Finding Nemo❤

One of my favourite Pixar films. "I'm watching you, Wazowski. Always watching." And who doesn't cry when Boo says 'Kitty!' at the end? 😭

My best friend and I watched this in theaters when this came out. That "Kitty!" at the end absolutely hit us two grown men in the feels. Instantly wiping tears away. 🥰
Such an iconic and quotable movie! “Put that thing back where it came from or so help me!”
