MSFS 2020 is the best gift to VR simmers. I’ve logged 400 hours across multiple flights and aircrafts, countries, weather, and so much more awe-inspiring views. Coupled with the Buttkicker, it has simply been an amazing ride with this simulator.
I wanna do VR more but it's sorta frustrating having to have lower settings and it gets me super dizzy on FS2020.
I have to say I've been enjoying VR as well. My DC-3 has taken me all over the planet now and I've really been enjoying it. It's worth messing with the settings to get it working.
@@Joshtheshua over the last year, I’ve found my VR settings for smooth experience. The only way was Virtual Desktop. Link cable just couldn’t do it.
@@nickmajurovski2516 it frustrated me for a while. My setup: RTX3080, made the difference. i7-10900K. Virtual desktop got rid of the issue with frame rate and jumpy images. There is a slight drop in visual fidelity (clarity), but my settings are high or above and it’s good.
I can’t say that I’ve really had the chance to experience MSFS in VR yet, Gervan (my PC was just never really up to it). This being said, I’ve just finished setting up my new PC - Buttkicker and the rest are ready to go! I’m certainly looking forward to getting stuck into some MSFS VR myself! : D
Happy flying and all the best : )
31:46 - the New Zealand scenery never fails to disappoint ? Oh dear, I thought you liked it. 😉
Haha! As I mentioned during the introduction, it had been a long week. . . XD
My mouth didn’t quite catch up with my brain on that one, but I think you get the sentiment hehe.
Cheers Paul, all the best! : )
I really enjoyed this video. It's always a pleasure seeing my home country featured. The area you flew in today has been having summer temperatures in the high 20's and 30's (Celsius) so the amount of snow depicted is excessive. The "SH 8" is State Highway 8 and designates a road owned and maintained by the government. Other roads in the area are maintained by the local councils. I flew from Queenstown to Christchurch yesterday at about 12,000 feet and was buffeted by the wind quite a bit but it was pretty evident that a fantastic job has been made of the New Zealand update.
Same here mate, it's so good that we got a much needed update to our beautiful country.
Thank you very much Squirel, I’m glad you enjoyed the flight!
To be fair, I actually made the flight itself a while back, so the conditions may have been more appropriate at the time. Of course Live Weather can’t always be trusted though - we all know that Milford Sound lives under perpetual snowfall (unless that got fixed with the NZ update) XD
Thanks for the info! Happy flying : )
Ow..his plane is esthetically so pleasing to watch. It's the same fuzzy feel good thing I get from watching old Art Deco architecture..
She’s a beauty, isn’t she, Jingle! I’m glad you enjoyed a spot of vintage aviation and that the video gave you some good vibes ; )
Thanks for watching and all the best!
@@IntotheBlueSimulations Speaking of vintage. I'm sure you're also familiar with the beautiful Shoreham Airport building.
I am indeed, Jingle. Shoreham isn’t somewhere I’ve had the chance to visit in real life, but from the pics I have seen / from what I have seen in the sim, the main building is indeed beautiful : )
8:15 - Damn, the shaking sound effects for the takeoff roll are fantastic.
I’m glad you think so ENIGMVTIK! Overall I think that FS Realistic (which is what was used here) does a very nice job of adding a little bit more “life” into the sim : )
Cheers, all the best!
The Carenado Twin Beech may not be perfect, but it's as beautifully rendered as anything in the sim. It may have something to do with the fact that I learned to fly in the pre-GPS Age of Steam, but I find it very immersive.
Completely agree Jay: The aircraft is beautifully modelled and whilst not perfect, it does have a certain *something* about it. It looks as though a comprehensive 3rd party mod has also just been released for the Beech 18, so I think that’s going to be well worth a try!
All the best : )
Nice to see someone who actually knows how to fly and operate the airplane correctly; well done, a rarity among flight simmers...
Haha, well thanks very much Jim, I try and put in a competent performance where I can ; )
For me, a lot of the enjoyment in simming, comes from learning a new aircraft, it’s systems, it’s procedures etc and so I try to inject some of that ethos into my videos.
I’m glad you enjoyed the flight! Cheers and all the best : )
Nice one. Worked at Wanaka Airport for 20 years. Lived in Luggate. One note - the lake on approach at 2oclock is Lake Hawea. Love your tutorials. Thank you.
Thanks very much Ian, I’m glad you enjoyed the video!
Lucky you! Whenever I fly in this part of the world, I always think how amazing it must be, to be surrounded by such stunning scenery. Wanaka is even better, since I gather you guys get the air show as well haha.
I’m really happy you’re enjoying the content! My pleasure and all the best to you : )
Like the flat sounding/cockpit voice sounds a lot more like your in the cockpit.
@@Zakk900 and your point is ?
@@Zakk900Spelling police has entered the chat. Disregard.
Cheers 11x, I’m glad you enjoyed the effect! The intent is certainly to make the whole experience sound more authentic, but I tend to only use it in videos that are neither reviews or tutorials, as clarity is more important in both of those cases.
All the best! : )
Great trip, NZ scenery is always a joy, wonderful choice of aircraft. Can't go wrong with round engines in a vintage machine. Thanks bunches!!
Well Art, if I may; if you enjoyed this trip, I’m sure you will very much enjoy this video: ua-cam.com/video/mHjVlWFF7LE/v-deo.htmlsi=RvQ4FAlq3F1IV4UU
Probably one of my top 5 flights in MSFS (a superb combination of aircraft / scenery and great fun to boot)!
I do hope you enjoy! Many thanks, as always : )
What a beauty of an aircraft, it was my first Marketplace purchase.
The Beech 18 is indeed a beautiful aircraft, Felipe and Carenado have done a typically excellent job with the visuals of the addon. I gather a 3rd party mod has just been released for the Beech 18 and it sounds rather promising; I plan on taking a look myself when I can - might be worth checking out : )
Cheers and all the best!
Stunning scenery and Carenado have done a seriously good job on the Beechcraft 18 visuals. Excellent video, really enjoyed it. This is kind of my level, chilling in the sim not too worried with systems, and of course I can get away with this in VR which is also very special. Good times!
Cheers David, really glad you enjoyed the flight!
Haha, well that’s exactly what I was after also; it had been a long week and I just wanted to chill and take in the views ; )
All the best! : )
Stunning quality, fantastic review.
Keep it up!
Thanks very much Rafael, glad you enjoyed it! : )
Amazing video, as always. Thank you!
Thanks very much once again Reason, glad you enjoyed it! My pleasure and happy flying : )
Love the audio work, excellent stuff.
Thanks very much Mark, glad you enjoyed it! : )
We ordinarily avoid a left hand circuit for 29 (or RH for 11) at Wanaka due to the proximity to higher terrain. Also the frequent skydive operations tend to stick to that side of the AP.
The lake at Cromwell (including the gorge to the Clyde dam) is Lake Dunstan. If flying this route IRL at lower lower altitude, caution for HV transmission lines across the gorge at the Cromwell end of the gorge. And as someone else mentioned, The lake you first spotted after your pre landing checks was Lake Hawea.
Thanks for the info Boyd, makes sense on the traffic pattern and nice to get to know the area a little bit more. Lucky you, for getting to live and fly in such a beautiful part of the world!
Much appreciated and all the best to you : )
Nice work Beautiful plane! and Countryside!
Cheers BTC, glad you enjoyed it!
Indeed, the Beech and NZ are a beautiful pairing together. Looks like a reasonably detailed mod has also just been released for the Beech 18, so I shall definitely have to give that a whirl at some point.
All the best! : )
If you enjoy the NZ scenery so much why not try Milford Sound runway 29, a difficult approach? I understand that the largest aircraft to land there was a RNZAF Caribou
Hi Finlay,
I have featured Milford Sound on the channel before, albeit it was a departure in the Analogue King Air, as opposed to an arrival. Flying into NZMF with the Caribou, certainly sounds like good fun! I may just take a look at that one day!
Cheers for the suggestion and all the best : )
Amazing video bro
Thanks very much Surya, I’m really glad you enjoyed it! Much appreciated and all the best to you : )
Good choice of aircraft. The B18 and B247 don't get enough UA-cam love.
Thanks very much FreakyD, I’m glad you enjoyed it!
Yes, there are so many aircraft that I would like to feature more on the channel, sadly I can rarely find the time though. On that note; it looks like an excellent freeware mod just came out for the Beech 18, so I would love to give that a go at some point also ha.
Cheers, all the best! : )
Great, relaxing video! I was pretty impressed by the beech's sound set on start up. I assume a lot of the rattling and runways noise was FS Realistic? Very nice sound texture and vibrations and then just the drone of the radials once the wheels lift off.
I like the layout of the cockpit as well. Seems to be well thought out.
Can't beat a flight over Middle Earth!
All the best friend and fly safe!
Thanks very much Bread, glad you enjoyed it!
Yes, the Beech 18 isn’t perfect, but I think Carenado have done a very nice job with the aircraft overall and FS Realsitic (which I was indeed using) really just adds that little bit of extra icing on the cake.
It’s true, NZ is just about one of the best places to fly for the scenery!
Cheers and happy flying : )
Great aircraft ! 😎
Glad you like it BR! Cheers : )
There's so many good planes now I haven't broken out the Beech 18 in a while but this is reminding me how bad I need to
There are indeed Stratimus, I can never find the time to fly half of them haha! It seems a rather thorough mod has just been released for the Beech 18 as well, so that’s another very good reason to drag the aircraft out of the hangar ; )
All the best! : )
"Sky King" back in the day.
I really enjoy your experienced on point talk through. I always learn something. Your wish for another 10 knots (beech not forthcoming) on landing approach was justified, and would have made for a butter for sure. But I did like the touchdown right on the stall warning. Think I will do this one in the Baron, the 18 is a bit old for me.
Many thanks once again Rahman!
Yeah, I’ve certainly done better landings, but you can’t win ‘em all I suppose haha XD
I find this is a really nice little route in any aircraft really. Short enough to be quick, but just long enough that even in something like the Baron, you’ll have time to enjoy a bit of scenery. Shouldn’t be long until the Black Square Baron is released now - that will almost certainly be a great option for this flight! : )
Cheers and happy flying!
Terrific video. "The New Zealand Scenery never failing to disappoint"?
Thanks very much John, I’m glad you enjoyed it!
Haha, I did warn you all that it had been a long week - my mouth could no longer keep up with my brain XD
All the best!
Would like to see you tackle foul weather flying. Clear weather gives a nice view but can be a little bit dull to watch all the time.
Ask and you shall receive good sir! ; )

ua-cam.com/video/aZsS-XIEzlc/v-deo.html
I also have an IFR flight in the Black Square Analogue Bonanza lined up - that should be released in a day or so (I hope that will be interesting, as it features a variety of different navigation methods + an LDA approach). I really enjoy the sorts of flying featured in the C414 video; I tend to fly with Live Weather when simming on my own, but sometimes it throws up too much unpredictability for reviews etc. I can certainly appreciate that fair weather flying isn’t always riveting, but a lot of people want to see the scenery and in this particular case, after a long week, I just wanted to wind down haha ; )
Thanks very much for the input! Much appreciated and all the best : )
Another great video. SH in NZ means State Highway. Our main highway is SH1, which runs the length of the country. There are no states like USA or in Australia , just a tern to mean government looks after the Highway as opposed to local authorities
Thanks very much Dave, I’m glad you enjoyed it!
Ah ok, thanks for the info! It’s always somewhat tricky to know these sorts of things ahead of a video and I unfortunately tend to work my way around the virtual world, butchering place names, giving inaccurate info on famous landmarks, upsetting the locals etc haha. I’m certainly no tour guide, but luckily I don’t think that’s what everyone is tuning in for at any rate XD
Much appreciated and all the best to you! : )
Ace content as always ITBS, I bought this one a while back but yet to fly it!
Thanks very much Scotty!
Haha, I think we’ve all been guilty of buying an addon and then not getting around to flying it. The Beech 18 is certainly worthy of a flight or two though; not perfect by any means, but a very enjoyable flight experience nevertheless. There’s also been a mod recently released for the aircraft, so that might be worth checking out as well : )
Cheers!
@@IntotheBlueSimulations Thanks for getting back!
My pleasure! : )
Fantástic 👍
Thank you very much once again sir! : )
Awesome flight, stunning scenery and a beautiful aircraft. Nevertheless I am in a state of mild shock, after seeing an ITBS landing that wasn't a greaser!
Haha! It can happen to the best of us Roland XD
Still, iffffff I was looking for excuses, I would say that FS Realistic’s touchdown effects are a little overdone by default : P
I’m glad you enjoyed the flight! Many thanks once again : )
Thank you for yet another great video. NZ sure looks stunning. Been drawn back into DCS again so i haven't flown over NZ as much as i would like to yet. To few hours of free time in a day :D
Haha, tell me about it! I have a multitude of addons I would like to try, a plethora of videos I would like to record and that’s just in MSFS - I would love to spend some time in DCS, X-Plane etc also and even do some simming “just for fun” (I always end up recording, though I do enjoy that also). Definitely not even close to enough hours in the day / days in the week XD
Perhaps I should get back into DCS and only allow myself one death per session, that would free up a lot of time, very quickly haha!
My pleasure on the video, I’m glad you enjoyed it : )
@@IntotheBlueSimulations Haha, yes true. I usually rotate and fly either DCS or MFS nearly exclusive for a while.
Was surprisingly easy to get back into it, remembering the systems and such.
Shout out if you want to fly multiplayer if you need a wingman for a mission.
Haha, I never find that to be the case myself; I always spend too long away from DCS and then end up basically having to learn from scratch XD
When I do jump into multiplayer, it’s generally into the aerobatics server (it’s the only one I can last more than 5 minutes on haha), though I see that one has now been done away with : (
by all means though, next time I jump into DCS multiplayer, I’ll give everyone a little shoutout or something. Cheers! : )
@@IntotheBlueSimulations Haha It depends a lot on the plane. The Av8 is very hard to remember. The F-16 on the other hand is a lot easier. The F-18 for me is backwards compared to the F-16.
Haha, well the AV-8B and the Viggen are my favourites; so I either have to remember the ridiculous launch logic of the AGM65, when getting back into the Harrier, or re-learn Swedish XD
Luckily I also really enjoy the F5 though. . .
Very nice 😊
Cheers Eric, glad you liked it : )
All the best!
Try this plane out with the Denarq Twin Beech enhancement mod. Lots of changes and additional modelling to the aircrafts systems.
Hi Gharret,
That is actually something that I very much want to do - sounds like a great mod from what I have heard (I only became aware of it after recording this video)!
Cheers for the pointer. All the best! : )
Amazing video. Enjoyed every minute! One question, is this radio sound a FS2020 addon or just a web ATC?
Hi Daniel,
Thanks very much, I’m really glad you enjoyed the video!
The ATC is real-world recordings (from LiveATC.net), which I’ve then edited into the video. There is actually an ATC chatter app available for MSFS though, if that’s the sort of thing you’re after : )
I hope that helps. Happy flying and all the best!
trying to get to the Warbirds over Wanaka Airshow next year, went once when i lived in Australia
Funnily enough Daniel, I came across some of the promo materials for the air show, when I was doing a little bit of research for this video. It looks brilliant and must be just about one of the most beautiful locations in which one can watch an air show!
If you manage to make it there, I hope you have a brilliant time! : )
I sometimes wonder about developers and their mindset. A developer created the Lockheed Electra and failed to include a version that matched Amelia Earhart's plane. I would love to have recreated her flight around the world but as a man I probably wouldn't get lost and complete it though.
Haha, well I do seem to recall that her navigator was a bloke in fairness ; )
It did seem strange to create the Electra and not make a nod to Amelia Earhart though, 100% agree.
All the best! : )
lovely aircraft and location! Tell me, has this aircraft been updated much since it was launched? I always meant to go back and fly it more, I think I shall after watching this, love those radials! thanks for the vids as always
Thanks very much Peter, I’m glad you enjoyed it!
The Beech 18 got just the one update I think and there are still a couple of lingering issues as a result (and the sounds are still only so-so). Funnily enough though, it looks like someone just released rather a comprehensive mod for the aircraft, so that may well be worth a look (I haven’t tried it myself yet, but certainly intend to do so)!
My pleasure on the video. Happy flying : )
This is the type of aircraft I would put a King Charles 'BoBBle-Head in ..... very nostalgic. The cockpit is eye-pleasing, a place I would want to spend time in. The little features like the side window are 'the Bees' Knees'. Sounds are good. I will be aquiring this for my collection. Continued success and safety for you and Britain / U.K.
Haha, I’m sure His Majesty (still feels weird writing that) would be honoured Stewie! ; )
The Beech 18 isn’t perfect but as always, the aircraft is a stunning visual effort from Carenado and they’ve done a pretty decent job of recreating the aircraft’s charm / flair also. I gather a 3rd party mod has also just been released for the addon, which introduces a lot more complexity / functionality (I’m pretty keen to give that a go when I get the chance). I do hope you enjoy the Beech 18, as and when you pick it up!
The same goes to you and happy flying! : )
how do you move around the cockpitview so smoothly, i cant seem to get to that in the sim myself.
great content, cheers!
Hi Ferry,
Thanks very much, I’m glad you enjoyed the video!
I'm using a head-tracking device called "TrackIR" for the camera movements. It's great, although a little pricey. There are cheaper / freeware alternatives available though, should you wish to give it a go for yourself : )
I hope that helps. All the best!
many are flying in NZ welllll I like flying in Africa so there lol kidding and of course another fine video as usual Thank You for very good content Thank You
Haha, well both are certainly good Mike - I’m actually thinking that somewhere in Africa could be perfect for my next Caribou trip ; )
I’m glad you enjoyed the flight! Many thanks once again : )
Hi ITB! I love your comments. Please, take a look at An-225 Mriya. Guess it deserves it.
Hi Paul Henri,
Thanks very much, I’m glad you’re enjoying the content!
I certainly do plan on taking a look at the AN-225; I was working at the time she released and I’ve been pretty busy ever since. I want to wait until I have a decent chunk of time to dedicate to the Mriya - as you say, she deserves it.
Cheers and all the best! : )
Believable. The cockpit and the scenery make it seem pretty real. Engine sound could be better. But most of the other sounds are okay.
Cheers Wanderer. I think that’s a pretty fair assessment overall : )
All the best!
We need milviz to make a good beech.
That would be great, wouldn’t it Richard! Someone did actually release a mod for the Carenado Beech 18 recently though; apparently it adds a lot more realism / functionality etc. I’m quite keen to give that a go, when I get the chance.
All the best! : )
I have the ORBX NZ mesh so how does it perform with the new update? Great flight, skipper.
Thanks very much MrS, I’m glad you enjoyed the flight!
I actually haven’t tried the Orbx mesh alongside the NZ update yet, so I’m not really sure how well the two would play together (I would imagine there would be a few conflicts arising from such a combination). With the new NZ update being so good, I’m not sure I’ll need to bother installing the Orbx mesh again. . .
Cheers and all the best! : )
Greetings, could you tell me which program you use for the screenshot of your fs 2020. Thank you very much
Hi Juan,
Is it screenshots specifically that you’re after, or rather how I record the replays within my videos?
Cheers : )
Please do a antonov 225 flight!
Hi Clayton,
I do plan on doing exactly that at some point! I’m pretty busy at the moment with various projects, but we’ll take a detailed look at the AN-225 when I get the chance ; )

Hi Matthew,
I would certainly like to! It could be quite some time before I can get around to it though, since I have quite a few other projects in the works at the moment (Analogue Bonanza, An-225, FS Traffic, a hardware review etc).
The Taifun looks like great fun though and is certainly up my alley! I'm sure there will be a vid on it at some point. . .

You’re most welcome! : )
It's been ages since I've flown this aircraft (mostly because the ground handling was not playing nice), but was the cabin shaking always a thing?
That may be fs realistic, think it may do that sort of a thing. Don't know though.
@@PixieGirl101 Ah, right.
Hi Melon,
The cabin shaking was courtesy of FS Realistic. I tend not to use FSR in reviews / previews, hence why you don’t see it used very often in my videos, but the program certainly can add some nice effects overall.
I hope that clarifies things. All the best! : )
Do you think this plane will get an update to fix the sound and bugs ? Really want this plane though!
As far as the sounds to, I doubt it ZA. Carenado have patched a few things here and there, but if they were going to overhaul the sounds, I think they would have done it by now (and unfortunately I don’t think there’s any incentive for them to do so).
Someone actually just released a mod, that purports to enhance the functionality of the Beech 18 greatly, but I think we’ll forever be stuck with the soundset as it is.
All the best! : )
How did you get that shaking effect?.. Am I missing something?..
Hello Alex,
The shaking effects are courtesy of FS Realistic. I tend not to use FSR in reviews / previews, hence why you don’t see it used very often in my videos, but the program certainly can add some nice effects overall. I reviewed the product some time ago, if it’s of interest:
ua-cam.com/video/npYHh6c-r-8/v-deo.html
I hope that helps. All the best! : )
Wish I could fly even a fraction this good in game. Probably doesn't help I'm a console scrub
Haha, well thanks very much for the kind words Nigel! To be fair, it is often much trickier trying to fly accurately with a gamepad (although I’ve tried it myself and things can be made to work). I actually spent my first few years simming with a controller (with only a D-pad nonetheless haha) and found I could get most things I wanted done. Still, I’d be lying if I said that a joystick didn’t make accurate flying that much easier ; )
Cheers and all the best! : )
How are you getting such a camera shake on touchdown, is it an addon?
Hi Jake,
The camera shake is courtesy of FS Realistic: ua-cam.com/video/npYHh6c-r-8/v-deo.html
I hope that helps. All the best! : )
@@IntotheBlueSimulations thank you! I will have to see about downloading that!
You’re most welcome Jake : )
Looks like I'm not crazy....the ground handling characteristics on takeoff and landing are difficult!
Haha, definitely not Aleksandar! In fact, the Beech 18 is one of the trickiest aircraft in the sim, when it comes to getting a smooth landing out of her (in my opinion anyway). I’ve tried a number of different techniques, but the aircraft really likes to fall out of the sky on landing XD
All the best! : )
Visually it's a lovely plane but it's certainly let down somewhat by the 'outside' sounds, maybe they are true to live, admittedly I couldn't say but they just sound like a lawnmower to me. I usually turn my volume up a bit when on approach but the stall horn in this bird is painfully loud, I instantly have to turn down my volume. And as much as I appreciate that taildraggers may be more prone to a bounce upon touchdown this one doesn't strike me as real as it happens 99% of the time despite me going for the smoothest landing possible and no matter what technique or angle I use she still bounces, never have that issue with other ones like the DC-3 or even the smaller ones. Bottom line I hope Carenado follows suit with their updates and pay some attention to this plane as well as it needs some imo, it would be a real shame otherwise as it's otherwise a satisfying plane to take to the skies. Thanks for the vid.
I pretty much agree with all of your points there Stefaan. I don’t know whether Carenado will do much to improve the aircraft at this point, but a 3rd party mod has just been released for the Beech 18 - looks like it’s probably worth checking out (I haven’t had a chance to try it myself yet). I think we’re a bit stuck with the sounds though unfortunately haha.
My pleasure on the video! Happy flying : )
Have they fixed the sound on this baby?
Hi Wait,
Not really. It seems as though the sounds did get tweaked, but they’re still a little bit sub-par vs what one would want from a Beech 18. Interestingly though, it looks like a significant 3rd party mod for the Beech 18 has just been released and whilst I’m not sure whether sound improvements are included, it certainly seems that the mod makes the Beech a much more in-depth aircraft to fly overall (so I’ll definitely be looking to try it myself).
I hope that clarifies things a little. All the best! : )
Anyone know what eye tracker he's using?
Hi Hidalgo,
I’m using TrackIR : )
I hope that helps. All the best!
Can anyone tell me what the spinner marked "R" is for on the RPM gauge?
Prop sync, I think.
It stands for Right as in Right Engine, the Left one is hidden behind it as the props are in sync. If you alter the controls for one engine you will see the Left one appear.
Hi MrAFT,
As the other chaps have helpfully pointed out, the spinner is indeed there for the purposes of syncing the props : )
All the best!
what scenery is that did the same flight but my scenery didnt look like that
Hi Skypilot,
Have you got the New Zealand World Update (WU12) installed? You can find the scenery via the in-sim Marketplace (it's a free download).
I hope that helps! All the best : )
@@IntotheBlueSimulations i downloaded the new zealand scenery about 2 months ago from the market place but havent updated it
