The biggest challenge for a victim, usually someone having a close relationship to the narcissist, is to identify and understand that the person has a personality disability. It becomes even more challenging to understand a covert narcissist, who are inherently manipulative, display lack of empathy and are revengeful. While on the surface they may act like being the best human beings on the Earth. It can take away many precious years of your life before you even realise what you are into. Dealing with these people can leave you completely drained and mentally exhausted, and it takes a very long time to heal from the trauma of such mental abuse. Spreading awareness is a great way to help many people out there, who are dealing with narcissist abuse, but clueless. That is the exact reason why I'm a big fan of your channel. In my life, I've met a number of people who were victims of NPD. Like you mentioned it left a trauma of mental abuse, and it takes lots of time for them to accept that the past wound didn't describe their self esteem. Very good video that explains well the subject that you address Ubiji. Receiving attacks from narcissistic people can hurt a lot. This often comes through a morbid game where the person has not yet had the satisfaction of seeing the other just on their knees, the narcissistic person wants to see their victim lying on the ground. What can we do to get rid of it? It's so complex! The opposite of the narcissist I think is the person who allows himself with moral relaxation to be sometimes in self-mockery. Not being afraid of being ridiculous shows that he doesn't have too much self-esteem, just enough to be free to just be himself and "self" is already not bad lol. It hurts a lot to be stung by another person's words or actions. Healing becomes easier when we learn why they do it. Your video really helps me understand why some people affect me so strongly. Also I must face the fact that some of my own actions may be the result of narcissism, so I can use your information to identify those traits. Perhaps I can trace them back to a wound then the bad behavior tries to cover.
Dear Patrick, easily wounded by other's words doesn't mean you are a narcissist. To be diagnosed as a narcissist it should fit with DSM 5 criterion ( if you curious you can check my previous video or googling it ). some people may not aware about their words or actions to others, we should be aware that their words doesn't describe our self esteem 🤗.
