  • I FINALLY have one! The 27" Hoyt Formula RX riser is a highly sought after bow and I shot some of my best scores and won lots of tournaments with mine when I could shoot it. I setup and tune my new to me Hoyt Formula RX and work through some form issues I have been dealing with.
    I show you how changing my thoughts can adjust my archery form and fix my collapse I saw in previous videos.

    Eureka! I've been struggling with release and follow thru ever since I started shooting 11 months ago. I stopped this video halfway through and tried shooting concentrating on the follow through rather than the release AND IT WORKS!!! I've just shot 30 arrows and it felt great. My groups were close and accuracy even better. You can have no idea how much I've struggled so thank you very much

      Welcome to the next step! Its a nice place to be. Also learned here, Blind Bale which helped my release & finish. Its shows how the forms should feel & sounds when you finish. Once you understand that, it helps develop your normal shooting pattern.😏

    Jake, show us the plunger stiffness by placing it on a kitchen scale so we can see how much weight you typically use. I'd be interested to see when the plunger starts to move. I could then replicate your setting on my end as startpoint.

    Looking forward to your big upcoming project!
    I've been wondering about string diameter and specifically when and whether it makes sense to use a higher strand count or thicker serving (and the corresponding larger groove nocks)?

    Hi Jake. Love the video especially with critiquing on your own form. I noticed when you say your bow side shoulder scapula muscle is moving the same way as the draw side. I was wondering what part of the bow side scapula muscle is used for? And is there any muscle that plays a part to keep the bow side shoulder down besides from what you explain, reaching forward?

    I think the bicep moving could just be an artifact of relaxing your fingers. There might be some chain reaction with tendons and muscles that when you relax your finger you lose tension in the bicep.

  • @Poisonieer

    Weren't those the limbs Brady used in 2012 insted of Quattro (I'm assuming cause they kept blowing up) I'm not totally sure but I also have a pair as well lol.

    Which are the pros and cons between 27+ medium vs 25+ longs?

    • @malditomigue
      @malditomigue 2 роки тому

      27+ M limbs should be faster , 25+ L limbs should be more stable and smoother to draw but slower. But it is all about how You feel.

    Not sure if it is just some framerate/shutter foolery but in the frame-by-frame part, the lower limb is so much earlier than the top one. never noticed that before.

      It’s the way a camera takes a “picture” or takes each frame in a video. It starts at the top and goes to the bottom like a rolling line. It’s just an optical illusion.

      Rumour has it Brady used a set of 720s at an international event, but they were actually Quattro prototypes with the 720 paint on them. Not sure if this is true, nor if anyone else at the time had access to them.
      What I’m interested in is what prototypes they’ve given out now. Have a look at Casey’s limbs, they don’t look like normal velos limbs if you look at the core, there’s no tell-tale lighter bamboo strip.

    Hi Jake, my coach alterd the side screws in the riser to fix the string alignment, but after 2 weeks i broke a 18Ibs upper limb, then i used 30lbs hoyt and i heard cracking so i stopped.... Could it be the riser?
