New for 2023, Hoyt has introduced the Formula XD Recurve Riser. This is a 25-inch riser that's got new geometry, which pushes the grip lower on the riser for improved stability at full draw. It's also got a 360 Damper in each limb pocket to minimize vibration, as well as a pocket to which special weights can be added to customize the riser weight and balance. - Спорт
Moving the grip lower just to get more sight window prove how silly the formula system is. Go with ILF limbs system and you won't have an issue.
Formula is technically a more efficient system, so it's not necessarily silly. Although I do agree it's not enough gain to really justify the proprietary system.
I’m assuming this setup will require a different nocking point and tiller adjustment. Honestly the weight system seems really dumb. The last place I would ever add weight is directly on my riser. I see no reason to static balance a bare riser. That’s what stabilizers are for.

@@bhull302 Barebow has such specific dimension requirements that it seems like buying a barebow specific design is the best option. But yes Barebow archers do adjust the risor weight.

So how does it make it your grip more consistent or did I miss something?
It doesn't. The only benefit is that the nocking point will also have to be lower, making it more centered on the riser. Mathews has done it for years on their TRX compound bows, where to nock is exactly centered, instead of the throat of the grip being in the center, it's a very personal thing, but if you like it, it's gonna be really nice. I personally just can't get used to it.
@@justinvzu01 I lower my grip by holding on to the bottom limb pocket for maximum consistency.

Is this riser also suitable for barebow/ stringwalking?
Unless you can remove the two dampers it is not allowed to be used in competitions.
Besides that I don't know why not.

Dampers are allowed as long you don't attach weights to it.

Love how the limb pockets look. A bit underwhelmed that the top half looks like an Epik and the bottom looks like an MK
Way too expensive for what it is.
The quality and warranty are worth it, although I'd still buy a Formula XI.
I love the product, hate that they are reading off propaganda materials handed to them.
Sorry but ugly :( I wanted to buy it but now I don't know...
Just get an Xceed or XI second hand in the color you want. It'll be much cheaper, look better and perform the same. This bow really isn't an improvement over the last one as far as I'm seeing. The lower grip is also a Mathews compound thing, and I personally really dislike that.

To Me personally this is not a winner! It does not have that beautiful sculptural quality of the exceed and the Xi and as for the colours? Dull and Pastey!
For the price this thing is, people ought to be able to choose their own individual colours as a free service!
