    Great video. Just routed a Blackvue 900S the exact same way in my 2020 Mazda 3. My only concern is the airbags. Is there a possibility of interfering with the airbag by tucking the cable alone the joins on the A and B pillar?

      Thanks for watching and glad it helped. I'm personally not concerned so long as the cable doesn't interfere with the airbag. Besides, when airbags deploy, they do so with high force.

    Regarding the fuse you tapped, does it draw power when the car is off? I have a 2013 Mazda3 and am hoping to use the same fuse that you did.

      Andrew thanks for watching. The particular fuse I tapped does not power the unit when car is off, but you could use a meter to identify other fuses. With that said I’m not sure if there would be a danger of your battery flattening (which is why I wired to the fuse I did)

      @@simonblunden2151 Thanks for the fast reply Simon. I just purchased myself a multi-meter to be sure. My thoughts exactly with not wanting to drain the battery. Great video btw!

      You can get hardwire kits that cut off power before battery voltage gets too low to start the car. For using parking modes.

    Hey man, I was wondering if I could ground with the bolt that it is shown inside the fuse box around 21:24 ish... And another question, does the camera draw battery power when you are not using the car?

    • @simonblunden2151
      @simonblunden2151  3 роки тому

      If the bolt goes directly into metal then, yes you can ground with that. I went with the bolt slightly lower down around 21:40. I wired my daughter’s to a fuse that does not draw power when vehicle is not in use and there were no issues with camera drawing battery power when off.

    He put it exactly over where the airbag deploys. Installer beware of routing yours. It's not that hard to take the column panel off.

    Hey mate, at 11:34 you said that it’s better to run the cable down the drivers side, why’s that?

    • @simonblunden2151
      @simonblunden2151  4 роки тому +2

      Sorry just saw this now. The reason you run down the driver's side is because that's the side where the fuse box is.

    16:35 I found out that the rear camera, if mounted dead centre, interfered with the SAT radio signal. I had to mount it about a foot away, offset from true centre, to not screw up the SAT radio. Not the best view but still serviceable. This is despite using ferrite core filters on the cable.

      I just installed mine like that.. so I’ll have to test this out when I drive. 😂

    When it’s hardwired and it’s set on parking mode does it record 24/7

      I hardwired this to a fuse that only switches on when the ignition is on so I can’t answer that for you. I didn’t want to risk the battery draining

    Hi mate, would like ask for you help, what is the blade size?? Is it a mini blade??

    • @simonblunden2151

      Pal Leung thanks for watching at 22:00 I show the fuse. I believe they are called low profile mini fuses. The wiring kit I used came with extra fuses.
