You must have been eager for this project to have done it during a Canadian winter! Also love the multi-use of the feeler gauges for car projects and for guitar setups! Thank you for posting this.
I just installed the M3BKA13 in a 2006 BK SP23. There was no EONON video tutorial for this model so I used this tutorial as a guide. Saved me $300 AUD for a auto electrician. Cheers!!
Great video, I do a lot of work with Eonon and have several of their units....you keep saying Bluetooth is one of the big antennas, it's not, Bluetooth is one of the short blue wires in the rear camera rca, the other short wire is wifi antenna. The 2 bigger screw in antennas are for 4g if using a sim card for WiFi connection
Nice upgrade but would be better if that small factory connector (at the 6min mark) fed more than just the left & right channels. Isn't the factory mic also in there? It would be nice to pick up a connection to the factory mic, rather than have to run another cable & mount a new mic
Great video! My only questions (for now haha) that I don't think show in the video are: 1. Did the steering wheel volume controls still work? 2. Does the OEM display up top show radio, when using the radio, and aux for other stuff (ie, Bluetooth, carplay, etc.)?
Hey I've a 2012 Mazda 3 axela and I just received my eonon head unit the problem is my car's connector doesn't match the eonon one ,where can I get the stock connector to buy? Link me please.
I honestly have no idea. Maybe at mazda. What I would do is go to a local pick and pull scrap yard and just pull one out of a mazda there. It's honestly the cheapest and easiest way to get electrical connectors
It might work but you would need to check on the eonon website to determine that. The speakers don't really matter, but the configuration of the amp and wiring to the speakers could be different
My mazda has a 20 pin little white box connector for the audio, and the one the eonon has is only 6 pin. Do you know where I can get a 20 pin female to rca male adapter?
I have a Massachusetts 2009 and I would like to install dad Wallace system inside my car.How can I go about it?With the price of living in jamaica that's me please
@@DIYNorth Hey can you clarify. Out of the head unit there are 3 red rca and 3 white rca jacks. 2 of them are imputs. 4 of them are outputs. There are only 4 rca jacks that connect to the car. Im confused to which ones to use. 2010 mazdaspeed3 Tks
I'm not sure if the speed 3 is the same as mine, but I just used two of the available outputs. One red and one white. Just test it before you put everything back together
@@DIYNorth I used all four and i lost control of the fader and balance. All Speakers are on regardless of where the controls are. Ill try your suggestion. Tks
I have the same M3BLA12 but my menus look totally different than yours and I do not see half of what you're showing. Any idea why? Also the screen seems so dim and the steering wheel buttons dont work
I did a firmware update to android 13 which may have given it a different look. I think this is running firmware 12 in the video. If you can do the update to the newest firmware that might help. I'm not sure why the screen is dim. mine is only slightly dim if the sun is directly shining onto it.
Thank you for posting. I know I'm asking 9 months later but when you got it all plugged in, did it start up the first time? I just installed and double checked all plugs and it won't turn on. Previous radio worked fine so wires are good. Any thoughts?
Update…. I decided to try a new fuse and that was it! Somehow the fuse blowed when I removed the OEM. Replaced the fuse, it started right up. Thanks again!
When on android auto, both volume and skip song buttons work on the stering but via apple carplay, on spotify, I can’t skip songs but can play with the volume. Any tips to make it work ?
So first of all there is a "mute" setting which could be the issue and if you just tap the power button in the top left it will mute and unmute the sound. If that isn't the issue my next suggestion would be that the red and white RCA cables might be mixed up in the back. I haven't had to trouble shoot the stereo so I'm not sure.
Just ordered mine. Couple questions. Do I need to add the microphone and GPS? I also wanted to know what the usb's are for? Also, is there a way to put the USB cables where the cigarette lighter is? Any help would be greatly appreciated!!
I dont think the microphone and gps are really manditory. The clock does run on gps time as an option so it might have more use. But if you dont talk through the car stereo anyway then I wouldnt use the microphone. I dont think that my wife has used the usb because she has apple car play, so if you are using an iphone you could probably skip the usb. I would need the usb to run android because my phone is a samsung s7 and it doesnt support wireless car play.
@@DIYNorth so i wouldnt need the gps for maps or anything like that? What would the alternative be for the clock option, and i have a samsung s24 ultra so i should be able to do it wireless, right? When i make a phone call in the car, its connected by bluetooth, but the front of the screen also has a mic, right? I apologize for all the questions😅
@brayamsworld77 yeah the s24 should work wirelessly. There is a thing that says microphone on the stereo. I'm not sure how good it is, but it might be adequate. I think there is an option on the stereo clock to set it manually. Since it's so easy to install I would recommend just trying it out without all the extra stuff plugged in first and then if it isnt doing what you want just add the extra stuff after testing it. The map can run off of apple car play or off your android. So it should link to your phone without the gps.
No I dont think that it boosts anything from your cell phone. You can set the clock off gps time or manual time, and I used gps. Other than that, if you are using car play I'm not sure you need it. I would likely skip the microphone and gps and try running it without them and see if it works well for how you plan to use it.

Hey great video! I got mine… super easy to install but since I have had problems with the passenger airbag light flashing on and off… anyone else have this problem?
Thanks for checking out video. That is weird about airbag light. Mine only does that if there is something that is fairly light on the seat like 10 to 30 pounds. I'm not sure why radio and airbag would have any connection.
I don’t know if some one have this problem: When the music is very loud, it stops automatically for a few seconds and it's annoying, like it doesn't have enough signal, does anyone have that problem or know how to solve it, I've heard it's the cables, I have no idea, I'm sick with this.
What are you using for music. Radio, bluetooth, apple car play? Does it do that with all three? I have not had that issue but I only use radio and bluetooth
I think that it is glass. It has a protective film on it but I found it made the touch function not work very well. I'm just leaving it a straight glass
I'm not sure, if it wasnt in the video it wasnt touched. That said the radio knows when the car is in reverse, it dims the screen when the headlights come on etc.

Ooooo, moving on up from 2010s to 2024!!!! Big upgrade!!!!!Nice!

I might have to upgrade that one of these days.

Thanks for the feedback.
The GpS add on what’s the purpose of it? If I’m running car play does this gps help boost the signal from my phone otherwise what’s it for?
@ChrisCoelho carplay uses your phones gps....if you want to run the head units navigation apps, away from carplay then you need the units gps

The steering wheel controls are working fine. And the two displays that are up top also seem unaffected
Mine also doesn’t work

Do the Bluetooth steering wheel controls work (pick up, hang up)?
I've never tried them, I would assume so, but the touch screen also works.
How about an installation with the Mazda 3 that has the Bose System?

I think that someone else may have done that installation already on YT though.
