Looks wonderful Michael!! Love the addition of bread crumbs on top. The crunchy bits on top around the edge are the best and hashbrown casserole is the only dish I prefer the corners of, LOL!! ;-)
Totally awesome recipe it will be on my dinner table for Sunday's dinner as a side dish along with rotisserie chicken, a mixed salad with homemade Caesar croutons I'm sure my family would love it thank you for sharing!!!😍👍👌
Loved everywhere I bring it. The cream of chicken and cream of celery are the 2 best combos. Just something about it. Your bread crumb topping is great :)
Really? Bacon and green onions not adding flavor? Of course they do...both enhance....to each there own but you can't go wrong with adding one or both ..I've tried this casserole several different ways...trust me - bacon and green onion take this from everyday to sublime.
A very warm gentleman like you can really make this recipe THAT SIMPLE!! Thanks for your video-I would love to develop this wonderful creative idea with the use of hashbrowns! I love your video!

YUM! I make one kind of like this. I like to use the Italian style bread crumbs. Never thought to put cream cheese in it, I will have to try that next time I make this! Thank you for sharing :)
Just put one in the oven... Never made it before... jeez, where have I been? Anyway, I used cream of chicken soup and doggoneit, wish I had some bacon or a couple cups of smoked chicken to mix with it.... Just had to add fine diced jalapenos... We'll see how it comes out.. Great vid and thanks! Cheers from Texas!
I've been making something very similar for years. Delicious! I use the cubed hash browns (Southern Style) and top mine with crushed corn flakes. You just can't go wrong with this one. Great recipe to share! :) Nicely done.
I add ground meat to mine as well as the bacon to make it a little more filling for dinner. And when I serve leftovers for breakfast I toss a fried egg on top ; )
I've even tried tator tots and it turned out good but you'll need a bigger pan since they take up more room. I use 1 can cream of onion and 1 can cream of celery. I've never added the butter. Next time I'll add the green onions because I'm sure that adds another great level.

michael, I have a recipe you should try... Sausage and Rice casserole 1lb pork sausage 1cup cooked white rice 1medium onion (chopped) 1medium bell pepper chopped, (opional) 1can cream of mushroom soup 1can cream of chicken soup 1c. shredded cheddar cheese brown sausage, drain and set aside. reserve 1T. of the grease and leave in skillet to saute onions and pepper. in a large mixing bowl add cooked sausage, cooked rice, cheese, onions, peppers and both soups. mix well and put in a casserole dish bake @350° for 25~30 minutes or until it bubble . I hope you will try this.
O.M.G.!! What a decadent potato dish Michael! I know it had to be so yummy! I will definitely try this. Wow! Hugs! LOL I wish I was there when you pulled it out of the oven!! haha
Of course, you know me, I would be adding some good Chocolate Habanero or Trinidad Scorpion hot sauce to this recipe. Looks good! You're right about the salt, I rarely add extra salt to anything.
looks yummy am gonna try it can I use fresh potato instead of frozen hash brown as I got lot of potatoes in the house? guess i'll have to wash the starch and squeeze the water out nicely......
I should have known you had already made this. I have made it with either celery soup or cream of chicken, but never both. I'm going to do that next time.

Do I need to cook the hash browns in a skillet before I put it in the oven, because last time I made this, i didn't cook the hash browns before I put it in the oven and when it was done, everything was well cooked except the hash browns, they were still frozen. They didn't cook at all.

I am going to make this soon very very soon but as there are no eggs what holds it together? the potatoes Maybe? thank you for again another great recipe. You haven't had a bummer yet. ;-)
Hi Ruben. You can use fresh potatoes if you like. The shredded and frozen potatoes I use are not cooked. They are cooked while baking. Thank you for your question! ~Michael
Hi Michael, In my country there is only regular frozen hashbrowns sold and not shredded hashbrowns. Can I still use this recipe and mash the hashbrowns up? Thanks in advance.
This looks too good not to try, but in my neck of woods Campbell's soup is a somewhat exotic item, that costs arm and leg if found in an international isle of a supermarket - any suggestions for a substitute? (And I guess the frozen hash browns nobody's ever heard of over here can be dealt with with a bunch of potatoes and a grate ;-) Anyways, thanks for a great recipe.

~Michael
***** yes you did two cans.
If i dont want to use frozen hashbrown can i just cut it myself but do i fry it first ? Are those frozen hashbrown precooked before baking ?
Hi Ruben. You can use fresh potatoes if you like. The shredded and frozen potatoes I use are not cooked. They are cooked while baking. Thank you for your question!
~Michael
Hi Michael,
In my country there is only regular frozen hashbrowns sold and not shredded hashbrowns. Can I still use this recipe and mash the hashbrowns up?
Thanks in advance.
I have not tried it made with potato cubes. It would probably work with cubes, just make sure they are defrosted. I would not try to mash them.
This looks too good not to try, but in my neck of woods Campbell's soup is a somewhat exotic item, that costs arm and leg if found in an international isle of a supermarket - any suggestions for a substitute?

on my way to the grocery store to get the ingredients any ideas on what else I should make with this side dish??
