- Everything you love about breakfast in one easy and delicious casserole. Perfect for Thanksgiving and Christmas morning or whenever you have company over. Pop it in the oven when you get up and you are good to go.

👩🏻🍳 BREAKFAST CASSEROLE
1 lb bulk sage pork sausage
1 cup green bell pepper, chopped
1 cup red bell pepper, chopped
10 eggs
2 cups whole milk
¼ tsp ground black pepper
½ tsp garlic powder
½ tsp salt
3 cups frozen country style hash browns
1 cup French’s crispy fried onions
8 oz cheddar cheese
hot sauce, optional
Bake at 350 F or 177 C uncovered for 40 minutes. Then cover with foil and bake 10 more minutes.
*Be sure to let the casserole sit out at least 20-30 minutes before baking because the sudden changes in temperature may cause the dish to shatter or break.

Watched the video at 745 this morning. Bought the ingredients at 815. Had it in the oven at 10:00am. And was on my way to my wife's job at 11:30am. They loved it!!! Had some in another pan, daughter and the grandchildren showed up for lunch, and they loved it!!!! Excellent recipe!!!

I actually remember the day he did this, and we DID love it and it WAS delicious. Thank you for bringing a good memory, and even him, back to me, if only for a little while. 🥲

My mother fixed this for us backed in the late 50's and 60's when we was young. She put her Louisiana touch to it and she had the whole house smelling so good.. We also had hot buttered homemade biscuits too. Lord have Mercy.. I am going to make this when my family come over.💖💖💖💖💖

MAKE THIS NOW. I made this for my man's work Christmas party last year and people have been asking him about it all day, if I'm bringing the casserole. If you remember a breakfast casserole you had a year ago, it was GOOD. And I remember my man snagging me a piece too, and YES. YUM YUM YUM. This one's going in the recipe box.

I made this dish this past weekend when having many over night guests. My variance from the recipe was that I used Jimmy Dean's maple sausage and grilled onions instead of fried onions. It was easy to prepare and cook. Plus, it was a big hit. My nephew (10 yrs. old) said it was the best casserole he had had "in his entire life." On previous visits he did not like my scrambled eggs, regardless of how I prepared them.

For some reason when you bake eggs that eggy smell and taste goes away! I hate scrambled eggs for that reason.

TRIED IT: it was a Christmas morning HIT!!! Everybody loved it. I was cooking for 9 people (5 were adult men) so I doubled up on the meat & potatoes and cheese and made it in a 18x24” pan with about 15 eggs. Even the kids (3 boys ages 7, 6, 5) enjoyed it!
I served this plus a make ahead French toast bake. Popped both in the oven together (in separate pans) for an hour while we were opening gifts and they both turned out great and I had zero leftovers - they cleaned their plates!!! 😊

My stepmom makes one similar but she adds a sour cream/cream cheese mixture. It is a favorite of my kids

Lost my casserole recipe that was very similar. Glad I discovered your recipe. I used 1/2 roll spicy and 1/2 roll regular pork sausage and I added diced onions. I made it for my Sunday school group. Thanks!

I just made this dish. I added some spinach & sliced mushrooms & some cherry tomatoes. I also fried a half an onion with the meat etc.The rest was exactly the same as the recipe. It is delicious...& will make again.

I've thought of this years ago go and it came out like crap. This is good. I used butter instead of cooking spray. I'm.gonna use this as a future breakfast idea

I went with the suggestion of cooking the hashbrowns.
I skipped the fried onions one side had sausage the other side had sauteed mushrooms.
Also because my son does not really like cheese I only did cheese on one side. It worked out excellent thank you.

Maybe spray little oil on hash browns to get them brown while cooking, my guess they don't brown.
