Hi gang! Happy weekend! Hope you enjoy the start of our Melbourne series 😍 Remember all details of what we eat and where we eat are in the video description in case you want to visit these spots yourselves 🤗 Cheers, Thomas & Sheena
My favourite Melbourne lunch is a White Bratwurst with Sauerkraut from the QVM Bratwurst shop followed up by some Jam donuts for dessert from the QVM American Donut Kitchen. I love the bustle of the market. Hofbrau Haus in Market Lane also does great german food with a great atmosphere as well.
@@ChasingaPlate Definitely. Are you guys kiwis? My girlfriend and I are moving to Melbourne later this year. Very keen to get out there and explore the city. Any tips for the move?
Ah this video made me smile so much. Watching you walk the paths I do and to show me places I haven't. Shandong mama dumplings are awesome. Can't wait for the next episode
😍😍😍 love this Kel! We thought of you when we were in Melbs. Gosh it’s such a great city- it was awesome to be back. Thanks for watching this one mate, hope your week is going well! Cheers, Sheena
Awesome Izzy J! Hope you enjoy these spots just as much as we do. Love Kariton - so neat to have a place doing something completely different that’s so true to themselves. Thanks for watching! Cheers, Sheena
Hi guys. I've just been to Nico's and what a yummy ox tail sandwich and great coffee we had. Great recommendation from you guys. I told them about your channel and they said that they have had quite a few people come in and credit you for recommending Nicko's. Looking forward to the rest of the series.
Hi Kevin, thanks so much for watching and cheers for mentioning us when you visited Nicos. It’s always great to get feedback too as we often don’t get a chance to get back to the spots after the video has posted and it’s not often the restaurants get in touch. So happy you enjoyed that toastie! I’m keen to try the tuna melt next time 😍 Hope you enjoy the next video! Cheers, Sheena
That’s awesome to hear 😍 So happy you have some new spots to visit! Gosh we love Melbourne so much- it was a joy to film this series, hope you like the other episodes! Thanks for watching! Cheers, Sheena
Ohhhh thank you thank you thank you. My wife and I are off to melbourne on Friday. So can't wait to see the rest of your videos we are going for 12 days ending in phantom of the opera. Sooooo looking forward to seeing some awesome places to eat. Can't wait to actually see melbourne for my first time. Instead of just the airport in transit back to WA.
Omg awesome Ace Pinkerton! So excited for you guys 😍 AND the Phantom thrown into it (one of my FAVE musicals!) You guys are going to eat so well. In case the videos aren’t all out in time for your trip- a few other places we loved were: Hector’s Deli, Lulu’s Char Kway Teow, Agathe Patisserie, Butchers Diner. You guys will have such a great trip, have fun and eat ALL the things! Cheers, Sheena
I have to stop watching you two when I get up in the mornings and enjoying my coffee....now I'm drooling and ravenous!❤ Melbourne series is starting off with a bang!
Haha hope you had a delicious breakfast to follow up that coffee Jo! Thanks so much for watching! It was such a fun series to film so we hope you like it 😍 Have a great week ahead 💕 Cheers, Sheena
Yay! Welcome back to Melbourne guys. I look forward to finding some great new spots myself to try in my home city. So many net places were born from our crazy lockdown, its exciting to see the food scene buzzing again.
Aww thank you 😍 It honestly felt so great to be back- we were so happy. The city was so buzzy and everywhere we ate was absolutely humming. We found the service in all the cafes and restaurants so genuine and welcoming. Thanks for watching this one mate! Hope you like the rest of the series. Cheers, Sheena
Love this, thank you for the explanation! Thomas was so into them- thought it was the perfect coffee for him. Thanks for watching, hope you enjoyed this one! Cheers, Sheena
Hey!!! thats me standing in a grey suit with a yellow book in my hands at the 7 minute mark. I remember seeing you guys and thinking "am I gonna be one of those background figures on UA-cam?". Ha! Seems I was right. Welcome back to the great city of Melbourne. Soi 38 is a great place for Thai noodles. I'm going back today for lunch 😎
😂😂😂 love this Tarik! Hope you had a great meal at Soi 38- we love it there- went when it first opened and it was awesome being back. Hope you enjoy this series mate, thanks for watching! Cheers, Sheena
I’ve wanted to go to Soi 38 for ages and my partner had planned to take me there as a surprise for my birthday last week but we both got Covid! Boat noodles are some of my favourite Thai food as well. I’m lucky we live close to the cbd and I also work and study there. I’m always trying little out of the way places. Have you tried Brother Lee on Swanston st? They sell delicious Liangpi noodles and also Rojiamo, it’s at the back of a shop called Old Shanghai. Another place I love is a tiny Malaysian place in the arcade next to Kmart, it’s called Jom Corner. David’s Masterpot is great for Malatang and Master Lanzhou have now opened up on Swanston st and so have Biang Biang noodles. SO much great food.
Oh no Lindy! Hope you guys are well on the mend. Happy belated birthday 🥳 And hope you get to Soi 38 soon! Making a note of your great recommendations- thank you! I managed to pop into Master Lanzhou for a solo lunch when Thomas was editing as I was craving Lanzhou noodles so much and they were DELICIOUS. I inhaled the bowl. The cbd is just brimming with great food- you’re so lucky you’re right in the heart of it! Thanks for watching and hope you enjoy the rest of the series! Cheers, Sheena
Jealous much!! Bet your glad to be home and eat all those yummy foods you missed... beautiful city Melbourne👌👌 cheers Sheena and Thomas for the tour of your favourite spots💞💞🙏
It was so awesome being back- the city felt so alive and everywhere we visited was so welcoming and hospitable. Love that city! Thanks for watching Lisa. Cheers, Sheena

Woohoo! You're travelling again! I'm really looking forward to this series, and all the niche eats you find. A couple of questions: what does CBD stand for? Chinese Business District? And did you think you could just slide in that casual comment about just getting back from Thailand? Is there a Thai series coming up?? And isn't it coming up on summer down under? Why was it so chilly there? It's nearly 3AM here, and I'm slurping my leftover sesame noodles because your eats made my tummy rumble. I'm off to bed now, so thanks for the sweet dreams of "on the road again".
Ooo I had sesame soba for lunch MsKestrela- we must have been on the same wavelength! CBD stands for Central Business District- what term do you use in the States? And haha yea just thought we’d slip in that Thailand reference 😆 No videos unfortunately as we wanted to focus on the tour and our guests but we might head back there one day soon to shoot! Omg the weather in Melbourne was crazy! We were FREEZING! I was woefully under packed thinking we’d have warm days but I really needed my down jacket. It’s a bit temperamental at this time of the year! Hope you enjoy this series- we loved filming it and being back in our old haunt. Thanks for watching 💕 Cheers, Sheena
@@ChasingaPlate Oh, mostly we just call it "downtown" LOL! city residential areas are referred to as "uptown. Mostly I'm thrilled to see you traveling again, and am really looking forward to seeing your nostalgia and new discoveries. Hugs from South Carolina. 💕
Big fan from India. While grabbing a bite, your videos make the perfect meal accompaniment. Every video, you guys radiate such positivity (and kindness with your polite disposition)! For all the quality content you churn out, you deserve at least a million subscribers. Have some family over at Sydney, Australia. Hope to go on a rampant food trail if I ever visit them or plan to study there :*
This is such a lovely message! Thanks so much for watching and for your kind words Paru N 😍 Sydney would be a great spot to do some food exploring 🤤 Hope we can return to India one day soon- we miss it so much. Cheers, Sheena
Restaurant inside a carpark, what a great idea !! you only have to walk a few metres from your car and you're in boat noodle heaven. Fabulous video guys :)
Hahah so true Wayne! It’s a neat location for sure. So happy you enjoyed this one. Hope you like the rest of the series! Thanks for watching mate. Cheers, Sheena
Next level toasties, carpark dining, Mardi Gras colored gelato and dumplings that make my salivary glands go wild. What next? I can't wait! Love Melbourne. 😘

I’m still dreaming about it 😍🤤 Soi 38 is such a cool spot- def try and get there next time. We find the problem is that there’s so many great eats and so little time often 😆 thanks for watching! Cheers, Sheena
You guys are so cute! Everything looked amazing! Especially the oxtail melt and dumplings! Ube anything is my favorite! And those Thai noodles...just wow. I'd love to make it down one day. Cheers from Hawaii. ✌️ 🌈
😆😆😆 aww thanks Food Fiend! We ate SO well! You would have loved that ube gelato- I was blown away by it. Hope you can visit Melbourne one day- it’s such a great city. Thanks for watching and big love to you in Hawaii! Cheers, Sheena
Thanks for watching Henry. Haha just like eating on the streets of Bangkok really! I wouldn’t call it fashionable food as all of the dishes Soi 38 serves are commonly consumed in Thailand. Hope you enjoyed the video. Cheers, Sheena
Soi 38 is my favourite go-to! They also have the spiciest vegetarian dishes I've ever tried, I've had all of them and all of them have made me cry into a bucket of alcohol.
😂😆 love how addictive that burn is though 😝 I’m desperate to get back at dinner time to sample more dishes- especially their raw prawns- freaking love that dish! Thanks for watching N Nelly, hope you enjoyed this one 😄 Cheers, Sheena
Love your videos ❤️ If you get a chance, try Katik Turkish Takeaway in Barry Rd, Campbellfield. The best kebabs in Melbourne 👍🏾 The Adana is magnificent!
I work at KFC in a suberb 40 miles west of Chicago and lick the receipts and customers credit cards before giving them back to them at the drive through. Some cards have a salty taste and sometimes the cards stick to my tongue.
Hi I love your videos on Melbourne, I live here, just some friendly feedback, I believe in post production possibly, you create the videos too bright? the over exposed background etc, and yes I've lowered my on Mac screen brightness by half, and then its too dark but also changes the warmth/ realness colours of the food, I just feel the over brightness could be lowered to a more real colour scheme?. Could this be taken into consideration all for people like me with visual impairment? thank you in advance x
Hi. Thanks for watching and we’re so glad you enjoyed it. I don’t really do much to the colour science when editing so there aren’t many changes I can make. I’ll look into it though. Cheers, Thomas
Yum I love Ox tail but in a melt? Now that has my taste buds going crazy and it looks better than what I imagined I wish our food scene was half as good as Melbourne here in Perth Melbourne is spoilt for choice Asian Dumplings are my comfort food and these examples had my mouth watering. Melbourne, definately a foodie paradice...Jealous lol
😆😆😆 It is such a foodie paradise! Omg you would have loved the melt Tavita- braised for 8-12 hours- I bet you can imagine how tender it was 🤤 you’ll need to get down there for an eating holiday! Thanks so much for watching and commenting on this one mate. We were so happy to be back in that amazing city so we’re stoked you enjoyed the video! 💕 Have a great week! Cheers, Sheena
Perfect! We just put out a second Melbourne video with more amazing food. Thanks for watching this one and enjoy your trip! Cheers, Thomas ua-cam.com/video/dzT3ZFZgq_s/v-deo.html
I'm not jealous at all of your food scene in Melbourne (yes I am 😭😤😭😤😭😤😭😤). Some of your choices are fair (Oh My Goodness that looked delicious). Big Whoop your food so good get a room jeez (I'm coming over so please warn the restaurants I eat large). Dancing Sheena hmmmmm I see a gif in the future. Okay great channel update 😤🤤😤🤤😤🤤😤🤤
So pleased you liked this one mate! Omg we ate so well- didn’t have one dud meal. You have to get to Melbourne for a visit one day- it’s such a brilliant city. Thanks for watching! 😍 Cheers, Sheena
Hi Linda. Thanks for watching. All details are in the UA-cam description. It’s much easier for people if we write them down rather than quickly speak them. Enjoy! Thomas
Hi mate, we’re not that knowledgeable on vegan options sorry. Maybe there are some videos out there focused on those restaurants etc? Thanks for watching! Cheers, Sheena
Only one reasonable response to this provocation my darlings. Get on a train-- I'm in the Rat--and see how many of the food hot spots I can find. Food videos that aren't mukbang are such a relief.
Do it Mark! 😍 How long is it on the train to central Melbourne from where you are again? So happy you’re enjoying the content mate, thanks for watching and hope you like the rest of the series. Cheers, Sheena
Great intro but not the best places you have been in melb . These were great when they first started but not anymore and now many more have came about and on a different level .
I just want to know what lipstick Sheena is wearing... It never seems to budge or smear. If it was me, I would have no lipstick by my second mouthful 😅
😆 I’m always on the search for a good one! One of my friends just put me onto Nyx- the high shine lip gloss- it’s 16 hour wearing and seems to have quite good staying power! I think you can get it at Priceline if you’re based in Australia? 😍 Thanks for watching! Cheers, Sheena
Melbourne's cuisines are only suitable for fit 20 and 30 something. It has almost no heath conscious plant based low carb places for those of us who are older and/or less healthy.
Eating out is getting pricier eh but everyone’s gotta make a living. $17 is a lot of a toastie but I appreciated the long, slow cooking time it takes for the meat in this one and the premium ingredients used. Thanks for watching! Cheers, Sheena
It’s a lot of money but totally worth it- given the amount of time and effort that goes into cooking the meat and the quality ingredients involved. Thanks for watching! Cheers, Sheena
We do give all prices in the description. Always have for every video we’ve ever published. I’d be happy to pay $17 for it again. The time, effort and ingredients that go into it really shine. Thanks for watching. Thomas
😂 it’s steep but worth it when you think about the time and effort that goes into it. Quality ingredients too- not just any old stuff. Thanks for watching! Cheers, Sheena
I was flabberghasted! The pricing is wrong - yes, CBD workers prolly have higher incomes (especially near the legal precinct there), but I really hope they consider increasing volumes to lower the unit price point, or they might not be there for long. It's a walk-thru, not a sit-in food place. No way is that ever worth it (Pho takes long to cook their broth too, but they're not as greedy.).

Couldn’t agree more Justin! It was so buzzy when we were there and it was so great to see hospo thriving. Thanks for watching and hope you enjoy the rest of the series! Cheers, Sheena

It really does Rob! Well worth exploring. Thanks for watching and commenting on this one. Cheers, Sheena
@@ChasingaPlate I've been following for ages, as I fell in love with NZ many years ago, so watch lots of Kiwi content 🇳🇿
Really looking forward to arriving again in a week's time for 6½ weeks holiday, catching up with friends and visiting some of the places you've featured recently for some great food!

I'd a delicious dinner in Plato in Dunedin this evening 😋
Sounds like the perfect visit so far mate! 🙌
I went to Kariton Sorbetes, the pandan is so good! Will try Soi 38 next time I'm in Melb
I’m still dreaming about it 😍🤤 Soi 38 is such a cool spot- def try and get there next time. We find the problem is that there’s so many great eats and so little time often 😆 thanks for watching! Cheers, Sheena
Thanks for this one miss been here 12 years and still havent had a proper look around ahaa. cheers...
😆 some more spots to pop on your list then Charlie! Thanks so much for watching and hope you enjoy this series!

Yummy…thanks for sharing the video🙏🏽🙏🏽
So glad you enjoyed it! Thanks for watching Yoho! Cheers, Sheena
Is Dainty Chinese Food still open in Melbourne? It was one of the best Szechuan style restaurants in Melbourne at one time.
Sure is Scott! 😍 I always liked their offshoot Tina’s Noodles too. Thanks for watching, hope you enjoyed this one! Cheers, Sheena
So good!!!
Such a great city. Thanks for watching. Thomas
Even Soi 38 typically mixes the various toxic emissions present in an underground carpark with it's otherwise fashionable food.
Thanks for watching Henry. Haha just like eating on the streets of Bangkok really! I wouldn’t call it fashionable food as all of the dishes Soi 38 serves are commonly consumed in Thailand. Hope you enjoyed the video. Cheers, Sheena
Soi 38 looks low rent. Had more generous and cheaper Thai soups in Canberra, lol
Can you please go to Kim Sing and review their chicken steak. I love the chilli oil there and would be keen on your thoughts
Ahhh unfortunately we’ve jetted off! Next time maybe 😄 thanks for watching Kay O, hope you enjoyed this one!
What is the song behind on 15:20
We use a private paid music service so it’s not available to the general public. Thanks for watching. Cheers, Sheena
@ I think on music in restaurant dear Sheena
Yeah you're right. I'm not sure what that is sorry. Thomas
Love your videos ❤️ If you get a chance, try Katik Turkish Takeaway in Barry Rd, Campbellfield. The best kebabs in Melbourne 👍🏾 The Adana is magnificent!
Awesome Steve! Thanks so much for the recommendation 😍 love Adana kebab! So happy you are enjoying our content. Cheers, Sheena
I work at KFC in a suberb 40 miles west of Chicago and lick the receipts and customers credit cards before giving them back to them at the drive through. Some cards have a salty taste and sometimes the cards stick to my tongue.
Yummy. Thanks for watching. Cheers, Sheena
Awesome video 💛
Thanks mate! We loved filming this one! So glad you enjoyed it. Cheers, Sheena
Now that has my taste buds going crazy and it looks better than what I imagined
I wish our food scene was half as good as Melbourne here in Perth
Melbourne is spoilt for choice
Asian Dumplings are my comfort food and these examples had my mouth watering.
Melbourne, definately a foodie paradice...Jealous lol
😆😆😆
It is such a foodie paradise!
Great video.
So happy you enjoyed it 😍 thanks so much for watching! Cheers, Sheena
Hi what was the name of the Filipino ice cream shop in chinatown? Thanks
Kariton Sorbetes mate, all details are in the description. They have a Footscray shop too. Enjoy! Thanks for watching! Cheers, Sheena
good video mate
Thanks for watching Joseph- we loved filming this series. Hope you like the rest of the series. Cheers, Sheena
Good to review suburbia too....I live in the corridor from the city to the airport... much under rated foods here....
So much great food all over Melbourne. It’s a special place isn’t it. Thanks for watching this one. Cheers, Thomas
Can you please tell me the name of Gelato and sandwich shops?
Hey mate. All details are in the UA-cam description. Thanks heaps for watching. Enjoy! Thomas 😃
Kariton Sorbetes and Nico’s mate! All details are in the UA-cam description like we mentioned 😄 thanks for watching! Cheers, Sheena
The best place to eat in Melbourne is Tullamarine airport. And hopefully you're on the next plane out.
😂😂😂 you’re in luck Mick, we’ve already left! Cheers, Sheena
going to melbourne next week!!! comment section please give me recommendations
Perfect! We just put out a second Melbourne video with more amazing food. Thanks for watching this one and enjoy your trip! Cheers, Thomas ua-cam.com/video/dzT3ZFZgq_s/v-deo.html
$17 ouch! 😵😲 Glad it tasted good!
It was amazing and well worth it! I get the price point since so much time and effort goes into the preparation. Thanks for watching! Cheers, Sheena
😍 Cheers, Sheena
what name and ice cream shop thai shop?
well done.
Soi 38 and Kariton Sorbetes- all details are in the UA-cam description David. Thanks for watching! Cheers, Sheena
many thanks.
have a good weekend
WOW my Melbourne Life...
Bet this video brought back memories Pradeep! Thanks for watching and commenting mate. Cheers, Sheena
Hope you guys can tell us the address of shps
Hi Linda. Thanks for watching. All details are in the UA-cam description. It’s much easier for people if we write them down rather than quickly speak them. Enjoy! Thomas
Chasing a plate is a very interesting program but i don’t know why r there so few viewers
🙈 just gotta keep plugging away at it! Thanks for watching mate and we’re so happy you are enjoying our content! Cheers, Sheena
Where to eat in Melbourne Veg or Vegan food
Hi mate, we’re not that knowledgeable on vegan options sorry. Maybe there are some videos out there focused on those restaurants etc? Thanks for watching! Cheers, Sheena
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
So much deliciousness! Thanks for watching! Cheers, Sheena
👍👍👍👍👍
Thanks for watching Chandra! Glad you enjoyed the video mate.
3 years 1 month from Melbourne
Wow! It’s been that long?!
😋👍
Thanks for watching Michael! So glad you enjoyed this one! Cheers, Sheena
Street name please 😂?
Not sure which street you mean sorry. We are at multiple places. All details are in the description though. Thanks for watching. Thomas
😋😋😋😋❤️❤️❤️❤️👍👍👍👍👍
Thanks for watching! So much great food right?! Hope you enjoy the next couple of Melbourne videos! Cheers, Sheena
Be good if the names were listed in the comments
They’re listed in the description- addresses, opening hours and cost of the items we ate. Cheers, Sheena
Great intro but not the best places you have been in melb . These were great when they first started but not anymore and now many more have came about and on a different level .
Thanks for watching Michael. We still rate all these spots- love them. Where do you like to go for these particular eats? Cheers, Sheena
12:11
Certainly a gap in the market!
$17 for a toastie (and no gold paper)???? Inflation gone wild. #pass
Eating out is getting pricier eh but everyone’s gotta make a living. $17 is a lot of a toastie but I appreciated the long, slow cooking time it takes for the meat in this one and the premium ingredients used. Thanks for watching! Cheers, Sheena
why do you only show asian food ??
Thanks for watching. This video doesn’t just have Asian food in it so not sure what you mean sorry. Cheers, Thomas
Nothing in Melbourne is cheap
Thanks for watching
But it's cheaper than Sydney
But everyone gets paid fucking heaps so it’s all good
17 bucks... for a small sandwich.... fucking hell
It’s a lot of money but totally worth it- given the amount of time and effort that goes into cooking the meat and the quality ingredients involved. Thanks for watching! Cheers, Sheena
Is Melbourne sponsored by cannabis oil?
😂😆
CBD- central business district. Do you use that term where you’re from? Thanks for watching! Cheers, Sheena
why ssssssooooooo asian centric
Because it’s amazing food and it’s what we made the choice to put in this video. Thanks for watching. Thomas
Nico's was one of the worst oily pieces of crap
Sucks that you had a bad experience 😕 thanks for watching! Cheers, Sheena
mid video
Thanks for watching! Cheers, Sheena
Kocham Was.❤❤
Big love back mate! Thanks for watching this one! Cheers, Sheena 😄😍
Tell everyone the ridiculous prices for everything... 😮$17 for a toasted sandwich for example
We do give all prices in the description. Always have for every video we’ve ever published. I’d be happy to pay $17 for it again. The time, effort and ingredients that go into it really shine. Thanks for watching. Thomas
$17 is about the equivalent of 30 mins income in australia. Looked well worth it to me
$17 for a toastie, we are all going to hell
😂 it’s steep but worth it when you think about the time and effort that goes into it. Quality ingredients too- not just any old stuff. Thanks for watching! Cheers, Sheena
I was flabberghasted! The pricing is wrong - yes, CBD workers prolly have higher incomes (especially near the legal precinct there), but I really hope they consider increasing volumes to lower the unit price point, or they might not be there for long. It's a walk-thru, not a sit-in food place. No way is that ever worth it (Pho takes long to cook their broth too, but they're not as greedy.).
