I have been an avid fisherman for the past 43 years and nobody imparts fishing lessons and information like you do.We are currently gearing up for the annual KZN Sardine run.Well done Mate.Blessed Regards from Durban in South Africa.
Another great instructional and entertaining video. The only thing which left me guessing was the float…..was it fixed or was it running….and the other thing I am never sure about is how to determine the depth to fish with a float. Have never caught or eaten drummer but hopefully will cross that one of the bucket list when I next visit the Sapphire Coast of NSW.
Enjoyed spear fishing for luddrick an black bream growing up,great fish can be a bit weedy at times in taste, but never learnt to catch em on a rod,my grandfather used to catch em by the bucket load on a rod with just a float an some weed, GREAT CLIP MATE 👍
Hi Rodger. Just a tip when targeting drummer, use sea lettuce on the rocks where you were fishing in the video, as this will target specifically drummer or luderick rather than any pickers in the ocean.
Great video mate,I must convey my heartfelt thanks for your invaluable and totally unselfish imparting of information and lessons that you give. Many thanks and many more tightenes,Blessed Regards Mate.❤
Thank you, Roger! Drummer fishing is my favourite form of fishing from the nearest strip of coastline and is something I do all year round - when family commitments allow me to, of course!
Awesome stuff as usual. Have you ever tried using latex cotton to secure your bait? Here in South Africa we use it alot for presentation purposes as well as; to secure your bait resulting in your bait staying on the hook longer instead of a fish sinply ripping the bait off your hook. Cheers
hey mate, I used to use this in Europe a lot when using razor clams for seabass. Im half Aussie and never saw anyone using it here! I use it in the surf for the pilchards, works a treat
You articulate yourself so well and explain things in easy to understand terms. I bet any chance this channel will grow very fast and you will see great success in the future.
Hi Roger I love your channel. Can you please tell me the location you are fishing at or other places around Sydney or Wollongong for drummer. Thanks. Keep up the good work.
Tony, I was fishing at Dolphin Point, but Drummer fishing is all about how the prevailing conditions impact a particular location. Drummer are on pretty much every headland along the coast. In Sydney I fished most of the headlands between Manly and Palm Beach
Wait …… No salmon😂 Hi Rodger, I’m a new subscriber and just working my way through your videos and I’m convinced if you fell in the water you would come out with a salmon in each pocket
Hello Mr Osborne, You’re practicing a technique I love on the rocks. I’ll practice it this summer. How many grams is a float? How much do I leave at the bottom of the line? Thank you🙋♂️👍🎣
I don’t know what I’m doing wrong. I try everything you do but I just can’t catch anything. If you ever come up fishing around Yamba (North NSW), please let me join you for a hands-on lesson or two.
Thanks Roger. I appreciate your video and knowledge sharing. I learnt a lot. However, I don't think we should use un-cook prawn from supermarker as a bait
You are repeating the media narrative which aims to protect the tackle shop. If there was any issue or viruses with the prawns from supermarket they wouldn't sell rather chuck in the bin like they do they at the airports for food coming from overseas.
Hi Roger Can you describe the rig you are using. Stop bead on main line?, length of main line (from stop bead to swivel under float), then FC leader length, strength and size of running ball sinker size 0 or 1? Thanks Lee
Good video. I don't fish for drummer but used to fish Broken Head and Bogangar Headland for Jew, bream and tailor. I watched your Thai video. Do you like very hot chillies? I grow them but don't eat them. If you would like some let me know and I'll post them to you.
Hey Roger, always enjoy watching you. As an instructional vid on rock fishing I thought you might've made more of wearing a life jacket and cleats for the novices. Not a criticism, just a thought.
Gday mate we dont have that sort of drummer here in s.a is that what they call black fish or is that luderick ? at least you caught something for your troubles good to see you practice safety first by wearing that life jacket .
Trial and error sometimes bud , his looked to be about 2 feet under the float give or take , to deep and you hook up on the rocks and get busted cause that’s where the drummer is gunna take you. Something to think about.
@@saltwater_addict742 👍🏼 i have found the habitat...i.e.sand, bamboes and rock change the colour of Galjoen...same with Kabeljou. The sand fish are more silver. Guess its to throw predators off?
Is Brummer ' Coracinus Capensis'? Pity we cant upload pics of similar species we catch in waters around the world. Could you add images to posts Rodger Osborne
Im sure you know but those eho don't , please don't use imported supermarket prawns. Plenty of Queenslander around my area did and our prawning industry was killed for years by introducing white spot disease to our wild prawns. Something we never had here before
The abundant sea creatures our creator placed into the sea. The delicous and succulent fruits and vegtables grown from the sands, and vasr array of minerals into the earth to harvest variety of metals and elements for what we own today. Jehovah God's Son he sent to endure pain and suffering so we could learn how to live in unison and harmony. Glory to God. Gratefull to our Creator.🙂
its hardly stalking if we wernt ment to have an opinion then we wouldnt have the oppertunity to reply or comment on things that are said how are we supposed to live in harmony if every time someone says something you dont like you go and dobb on them
If you think you are a good fisherman i dare you to come to Perth and see how good you are. I promise you your not ass good as you think. And be honest and tell us how long t took you to catch a fish..
Hi Duke, I have some friends in Perth who catch a lot of fish. Most of my fishing sessions are pretty short, often less than an hour, but full of fish.
I have been an avid fisherman for the past 43 years and nobody imparts fishing lessons and information like you do.We are currently gearing up for the annual KZN Sardine run.Well done Mate.Blessed Regards from Durban in South Africa.
Thank You Roger . Another " Gentlemans " extreme fishing instructional. I have learned so much from your videos in the last 2 months.

I was wondering the same thing he never touched on using weed or the greens from the rocks , not sure why.
A wonderful character is Roger, with a super-interesting subject in Gods pristine state😊
Great video mate,I must convey my heartfelt thanks for your invaluable and totally unselfish imparting of information and lessons that you give. Many thanks and many more tightenes,Blessed Regards Mate.❤
Rock and drummer a perfect fit, Roger.
Great video as always Roger. Hope your next video covers the end tackle rig setup you use.
Thank you, Roger! Drummer fishing is my favourite form of fishing from the nearest strip of coastline and is something I do all year round - when family commitments allow me to, of course!
Another outstanding video Roger. I love drummer fishing.
You and me both!
Thanks for the video again Roger.
Walked past some spear fishos this afternoon that had based out on them at Bellambi
Love your work mate. as always on point :)
Awesome stuff as usual.

we call it bait mate

My favourite fish

Love your informative video. Could you please share the rig you are using
Wait …… No salmon😂 Hi Rodger, I’m a new subscriber and just working my way through your videos and I’m convinced if you fell in the water you would come out with a salmon in each pocket
Ha ha, yes probably 😊🎣
That was a pretty good session!
Things to do on a Saturday watch Mr Osborne
Great tips! 😎
Love the show, what type of shoe do you use on the rocks
Hello Mr Osborne,
You’re practicing a technique I love on the rocks.
I’ll practice it this summer.

Hi there, Why not the raw prawn?
You are repeating the media narrative which aims to protect the tackle shop. If there was any issue or viruses with the prawns from supermarket they wouldn't sell rather chuck in the bin like they do they at the airports for food coming from overseas.
Like Rodger , I would like to know why as well , you do know where prawns come from don,t you .
Thank you very much for the entertaining and informing video. How deep under the float do you fish?
Hi Roger
Can you describe the rig you are using.
Stop bead on main line?, length of main line (from stop bead to swivel under float), then FC leader length, strength and size of running ball sinker size 0 or 1?
Thanks
Lee
Hi Tony again. Can you show us your rig please.
Hi Tony, I have filmed another Drummer session where I catch 10 fish with details of my rig. It will be up next Saturday
Good video. I don't fish for drummer but used to fish Broken Head and Bogangar Headland for Jew, bream and tailor. I watched your Thai video. Do you like very hot chillies? I grow them but don't eat them. If you would like some let me know and I'll post them to you.

Great video, do you know if I can catch drummer in Queensland ? Sunshine coast..
Cook the prawn adn drummers love them more 😊
Roger just a question, I noticed that you wear shoes when fishing from the beach. Why is that? (From rocks it’s obviously a must)
This is the foreigners' popular Kuttanadan karimeen in Kerala, IN ❤
Do a catch and cook please
Gday mate we dont have that sort of drummer here in s.a is that what they call black fish or is that luderick ? at least you caught something for your troubles good to see you practice safety first by wearing that life jacket .
Is a drummer Galjoen? We get some really fark one here in Namibia
how deep do you let your bait go with the float ? 2m ?
Trial and error sometimes bud , his looked to be about 2 feet under the float give or take , to deep and you hook up on the rocks and get busted cause that’s where the drummer is gunna take you. Something to think about.
Is the Drummer similar to "Galjoen" we fish on the coast of Namibia and South Africa?
It looks similar to a bronze bream and a Hottentot.

How do you rig the float, Roger? It's interesting watching you fish rough waves with floats.
What shoes do you wear?
I’ve asked him before but no reply
just normal shoes but have spikes or cleats that you can fit over yor shoes that give the grip pause at 7:03
fairly sure you arent allowed to use supermarket prawns as bait
Imported raw a no no. Cooked okay
You can. Just avoid imoported ones.
is drummer a native of new south wales fish..? don't think we have it in western australia..
Any 3 meterees?
What rod and reel is that mate?
Shimano Maikuro 2, 12ft with a 5000 size spinning reel, 20lb mono
Nothing Wong with a pair of jandals
