the thing that baffles me about these games is there isn't a built in way to watch *UA-cam* videos while you play games on *UA-cam*. like what. I would love this if I could play a game while watching a video in the background in true zoomer fashion
@@youraverageintrovert1990but that would defeat the purpose of having games in youtube in the first place if you have to rely on specific browsers or extension.
To be fair, they are pushing playables on the mobile app homepage. That's how I discovered them. As for monetization, and ads, well, UA-cam shorts were released without ads initially, they were added later. I'm absolutely certain that if these games stick around, you'll have to watch several, before, during, and after.
@@utopes Even if you watch shorts you don't get the ad so long as you only watch shorts from recommended feed or a channel page the ads are only for scrolling which means that I just have to assume they exist because I've been told so
Ludo is an actual board game that has existed for something like a thousand years. Ludo Karts is just that game with a racing theme. The fact that it got dunked on in the awards section as "pretending its a board game" ie absolutely hilarious to me.
Ludo Carts is just the board game Sorry!, which at least has the entertainment value of a pop-o-matic die and the ability to stare into your younger sibling's cold, dead eyes and whisper your false remorse into their soul as you consign them to an additional ten minutes of suffering: Sorry!
So, some corrections, I really don't wanna be that guy, "🤓" type shit, but: A. Sorry! doesn't have the "pop-o-matic", what you're probably thinking of is Trouble, a game very similar to Sorry! And B. Speaking of games similar to Sorry!, there is a real game named Ludo that Sorry! and Trouble are inspired by.
if you want more strategy then I recommend ‘keezen’ its almost the same except for no slides and you get a hand of cards to play. But you do need to play them all
Fun fact, if they didn't patch it, if you mute the game and then exit to play ur video and then enter back into the game, you can *listen* to the video lol
What is good is you can play what would normally be an adfest cashgrab game with an ad blocker. Since I'm on mobile it lets me play the little mobile game things without having a different random app taking my data to mix colors or something.
EXACTLYYYYY I get to try these stupid games without wasting space on my already full phone, and ad free. It’s silly and I enjoy it and I like wasting time with them.
I loved the mix colors from JPEGs game but damn it was filled with ads! The icing in the cake was realizing I could download a transparent makeup pallet and mix the colors myself in Ibis Paint lmao
I don’t know if it is just me, but the daily crossword has a horrid glitch where after you play enough puzzles in the month, some of the earlier puzzles in the month suddenly are marked as incomplete. They are the same exact puzzle, but now your number of total complete goes down. Not only that, but if you decide to complete it again, the next one is now erroneously marked incomplete.
@@nortalian549i think you might be getting really close to finishing then getting distracted, i do that a bunch i always lose the daily bonus and i lost most of may lol
I have some good news for you, Full Speed Racing IS actually on Steam Called "Drift Stage", however its not Outrun. its actually a full racing game that the dev reused to make Full Speed Racing...and has a tragic backstory, I'd recommend looking into that. I actually like Full Speed Racing and I go back to from time to time, cuz I think it might help the dev with Drift Stage in some way, hopefully
I just went to try out Full Speed Racing and the music they're using it in pales to the original stuff what was written for the game. I recommend everyone check out Drift Stage Volume 1 by Myrone because it's so good it introduced me to the game rather than the other way around.
I had the same thought that it looks a hell of a lot like Drift Stage. It's just a ripoff though, not from the same devs at all. They said as much in Drift Stage's discussion page on Steam. For the uninitiated: Drift Stage is a retro throwback racer with a Kickstarter campaign that launched with a strong wave of support in 2015 and then quickly went silent with no explanation. I wasn't a backer then, but I was looking forward to the game and was disappointed by its disappearance. Upon looking to see if there's any connection, I'm shocked to discover that Drift Stage *finally* released in 2023. Mixed reviews, looks like a lot of people are still rightfully bitter about the Kickstarter. I might have to give it a try.
Full Speed Racing is such a ripoff of Drift Stage that it's hilarious. If anyone enjoys that and wants to play a much better version, find the original demo of Drift Stage. The release version messed a lot of stuff up.
I was a kickstarter backer for that game. I even have a vinyl in the shape of the car. Sucks that it went through some turmoil. I've given up hope that it will ever make it is a full game. Full Speed is actually a rip off and illegally using the assets from Drift Stage. You can check the Steam forums for the devs comments on that. So if you do like the game I would try and support the original makers of those assets.
15:57 That's actually a board game called ludo (hence why the playable is called ludo karts), and as soon as I saw that game, I immediately recognized it as a (way more generic looking) board game that I used to play as a kid. Everything you described, except the cards,is in the original board game, even the need to roll a six to get out. Oh, and believe me, it's way more fun with friends, because you get to sabotage each others progress. Playing the game with a bunch of bots on the other hand... now that's depressing.
@@ego-lay_atman-bay I guess you are right. Still, I feel like almost all idle games are the same. You get a guy that does stuff, he gets money, you get a guy that does more stuff, and it goes on and on. Just like clicker games. Honestly, I really have a personal vendetta against these games because of a game serious called "Zombie highway", which had 3 games. Unfortunately, the creators of the game decided to completely abandon them for an idle game called "Egg, Inc" that got more attention despite the fact that it was unoriginal and way worse than the zombie highway games that were very creative. Fortunately, The first game and Drivers ed work perfectly fine. Unfortunately, the 2nd game has a daily missions system that works only when you are online despite the fact that you could literally just recycle some missions that you've already made, and the game has a progression system where you get new items and stuff by doing tasks, and 2 of them can be present at times. There are 2 tasks including the daily missions system. You can only get everything in the game if you grind out the game until you get enough gold.
the biggest impact youtube playables has made is in the cut the rope speedrunning community (since they're one of the few ways to play the original cut the rope and om nom run without ads)
I suspect that the biggest demographic playing these is children. It may not be well-known by an older demographic, but it wouldn't surprise me if a lot of kids are familiar.
@@kelza0 im 17, saw them like last week, said i wasnt interested and i havent seen it since, the same deal with UA-cam shorts Edit: after like a week or two its back, so it comes back faster than youtube shorts when you click not interested
I’m 22 and I actually love these things. I mainly play the crossword and solitaire (sometimes hurdle) so idk what that says about me… but if I need a more mind-numbing distraction I’ve been known to play some of the others as well, mainly knife throw or dig it.
I have some context on gojeck and the whole game snacks thing. I use to live in Singapore a country that has gojeck and some gojeck taxi cabs would have tablets in the back of the drivers seat for the passengers. They would have little HTML5 games on them so maybe that’s why gojeck made a deal with Google.
Huh. Never saw them before, and I'm Indonesian who have used Gojek plenty, both for commute and occasional visits here and there when we're tired. Maybe you have to ask for it? Is this on the "deluxe ride" options? Though, I also got reminded of Tokopedia, an online shopping platform, that merged with Gojek rather recently. _They_ have occasional microgames for getting hyper-specific discounts on, so maybe this is where they're getting it from?
I see the games if I scroll a little on the homepage. I pretty much went "Woah cut the rope haven't played that since I was a kid" and kill 10 minutes on it every once in a while.
Ludo Karts is a board game that I used to play with my parents and aunt, the boardgame was called "non ti arrabbiare" (it translates to "don't get angry") and only difference is that once you do a full loop of with your pawn that pawn is taken off the board and the first one who remains with no pawns wins... This game is why I don't visit my parents nor my aunt anymore
I’ve seen a few different comments mentioning that this game in their language translates as something akin to don’t get angry/annoyed and given how it seems, I find that absolutely hilarious.
There are some cut the rope levels that they managed to make impossible. Like in a level in the original game, the rope was slightly longer than in the UA-cam version, so it’s impossible to compete in the UA-cam version.
I remember one day I was in voice call with a few other folks when we discovered UA-cam Playables. We browsed around a bit but ultimately got completely fixated on Draw Climbers. It's the same handful of levels on repeat, against *totally real opponents*, but it was really fun jumping down the rabbit hole of everything wrong with it and winning with the most ridiculous shapes. It turns out the physics is actually VERY different when in slow motion including gravity seemingly not working at all? One of the strats to win was just flinging the opponent off the map using bullettime. Stayed up past 3am watching that. Good if you want something to melt your brain out of your skull!
The goal of the playables is the same goal as shorts, to try and slowly make it so UA-cam has a monopoly on every thing you could ever want out of a phone. Give it a couple years and if they feel the playables are popular enough, you’ll suddenly start seeing ads all over it.
I found out they had Cut The Rope on here a month or two ago. Feels pretty good, but some levels are really hard to get 3 stars in, and I’m convinced at least one of them is impossible due to the way the level and/or the physics are in the UA-cam port. 7-8/10, they probably won’t ever get bug fixes
Yeah not being able to 3-star killed my desire to play on UA-cam. I lucked into one 3-star by ramming my head into a brick wall, and one of them is just downright impossible (I think it was in box 8)
I thought some levels were impossible too, but if you turn your phone sideways to get a wider screen, you can get a wider box! This made a couple levels so much easier
@@PercySwing The levels I found impossible were all gravity-based though. The candy falls slower and thus can't dip as low to collect certain stars while bubbled like it should
@@davispo7550 Oh, are you talking about Valentine Box level 5? In that one you're supposed to cut the top right rope and quickly pop the bubble so the candies merge, then launch it down. I've completed every box except mechanical so I'm pretty sure they're all possible. If that's not it, that's definitely disappointing :( still the best way to play cut the rope though lol
@@PercySwing phone? I was using a computer The level I couldn’t 3 star might have been either in the Tool Box or the Magic Box, and it was one where there were 2 sets of hats with the openings pointed upwards, a bubble in between them, 1-2 timed stars, and Om Nom in the middle above them all
Fun fact about running pet dec room, it used to be an entirely different Garfield themed running game till they switched all the assets to non Garfield ones, was one of the saddest days of my life
When i saw Cut The Rope pop up on the playables tab on mobile, i clicked out of curiosity and ive been playing it a bit at a time during breaks at work lol
Hey guys, I'm traveling from the year 2032 to let you know UA-cam is the largest game streaming service on the Internet. We still don't know how it happened
seeing the google doodles at first felt weird but then I had to remember that UA-cam is owned by Google so actually it checks out. If the assets were touched up I'd say this is a great place to add those games. Those google doodle games have quite the surprisingly passionate fanbase.
Hilariously, it seems that "Fullspeed Racing" was removed from the UA-cam Playables list. Which absolutely boggles my mind, why would they CHOOSE to remove what is arguably the BEST GAME in the entire UA-cam Playables? I thought I was going crazy when I was trying to find it again to play it some more, and I came back to this video to remind myself of the name of the game... and then I was able to confirm, yep, it's gone! That's so insane. I like that UA-cam Playables exist, if for no other reason than it allows me to play some of those stupid "mobile adfarm games" without needing to stop what I'm doing every 30 seconds, as it allows me some decent "browser games" to play while I'm at work, since UA-cam is generally able to dodge most "business website blockers".
Something to note about these games is that they are prominent on mobile over desktop. They are the 6-7th thing i scroll through, after 2 recommended playlists, 1-2 videos, 2 shorts. I'm a working 20s adult who got into the habit of using my phone for internet during the pandemic, and I can't escape the nostalgia of seeing cut the rope recommended. It's a marvel of coding years after the death of flash, and UA-cam is definitely trying to market these to kids to the older and younger demographics more likely to use mobile than desktop.
At one point, I'm happy that kids and soccer moms are playing these without the intrusive ads or need to spend money. In another regard, it's kind of ridiculous Google's engineeers have given up trying to fix the site and got more productive porting games
So funny thing about the Angry Birds game. It's actually a port of the Angry Birds Facebook Messager game, instead of any of the actual games on the app store. As far as I can tell, it doesn't have any substantial changes other than all the matches being against bots.
They won't stay adless for long, if they even survive. But right now it's a good spot to actually be able to play those damn scam games you always see in ads cuz they don't have any microtransations or ads!
LOL! I shit you not, at 29:09 I was literally saying: Come on, put in the MGS3 music, you know you have to..." and as if on cue it plays 3 seconds later and I lost it laughing!XD
I actually love having mindless games to play while I watch UA-cam! I hope they stay ad free even though it’s know they won’t. It’d be nice if there was a dedicated spot for a miniplayer in the games so I could see my video though.
this is a really cool video! your style reminds me of jan misali which is epic. i havent touched the playables at all but maybe ill check them out now just for the lols. subscribed, cant wait for more
Google is extremely familiar with the EEE and ensh***ification business model. They're one of its all time masters. They're not gonna put annoying ads there when nobody uses it - they're gonna make it seem like it's free fun with no strings attached, develop and nurture a games ecosystem forced to use their ads API, and as soon as it's big enough to sustain itself on its own network effect (like, for example, UA-cam) they're gonna implement ads, take a big cut from every game's ad revenue and happily sit on top of a pipeline of free money. I'm sure they've been kicking themselves for not implementing the same model for Android, the way Apple did with their App Store. Having control of a centralised point in an app ecosystem that enables you to just take a cut from others' earnings is big tech's golden goose.
I only just found out about Playables today. My theory is that they are somehow supposed to appeal to the UA-cam Kids market, as kids are the only market I could see spending much time playing these games. I'm not sure how accessible they are on mobile atm, but I could see them being some sort of easier alternative for kids to play these sorts of games rather than downloading them randomly from app stores.
If anything, the problem with Merge Heroes is that it isn’t slow enough. There’s no prep time between waves, so you’re constantly upgrading things on the fly while enemies march through your defenses largely unimpeded.
Exactly. It doesn't help that said upgrades are too expensive, too infrequent, and not nearly impactful enough - merging a hero to the next level only increases its damage output by single digit numbers. Meanwhile, enemy health inflates by hundreds, sometimes thousands of points every wave. The only way to realistically win some waves is to try and slow the enemies down enough for the fireball powerup's cooldown to reset, damaging them enough for you to tickle them to death.
btw very good video will probably go even more viral. didn't even notice you are a really small creator. keep it up at this quality and you will do amazing :3
I actually found these on my youtube homepage a little while ago. Tbh I thought they were ads at first, but then I remembered I've been using an ad blocker for bloody ages and payed closer attention. I mean, now I know where the crappy games from the TTS "[blank] of Reddit..." YT shorts come from, I guess. Cut the Rope is genuinely pretty good tho, so that's been fun
Ludo karts is just Sorry but worse, because at least playing it in person lets you have the joy of watching everyone slowly go insane with some funny banter between, also the pop noise from the dice rolling thing is great!
this video instantly motivated me to make a voiceover commentary ish video, which ive been wanting to do for months. thanks! but this video itself was straight to the point and fun to watch, the best type of video. good job! :) and, at 14:24 theres PERSONA MUSIC!!! that makes every video better!! ❤
what's funny is I would enjoy more than half of these, because I've played more than half of these on play store, especially paint by number, I love those games
Angry Birds showdown is actually a UA-cam playables port of angry birds for Facebook messenger, the Facebook messenger Version has actual multiplayer unlike the UA-cam playables version
8:52 draw climber could actually be asynchronous multiplayer. you aren't directly interacting with your opponent, so it might just take your "solution" to the track and replay it for other people under your name. maybe not on desktop. or mobile. who knows if youtube playables even support any kind of multiplayer... Also always love out-of-nowhere references using 3ms of music. 22:15 came out of nowhere and double ricoshotted my respiratory system and my hopes for the ladder at 29:07 were thoroughly joshed. 10/10
I like the youtube playables version of color match bc the mobile version has the objects TALKING with text-to-speech, and they alternate between taunting you and giving _unprompted_ tips. I don't need tips in a game like that! Especially if I didn't ask for them!! There's also a weird currency system where you auction off the things you painted so you can buy more things to paint?? And the ads suck but I have one of those adblock vpns that's probably giving me a virus 😎
16:08 this is actually a fairly common czech board game, but it looks very different and doesn't have the special cards (the name is člověče nezlob se)
Fun fact about the cats at 22:52 ! The black cat from the Academy game is named Momo, and the Calico is named Lucky! Lucky is actually from a google doodle called Champion island! Also, seeing as I see their cute little interaction as romantic… THESE KITTIES ARE GAY!! 🎉🎉🎉
Great video, with an excellent taste in music to boot :} 👌 Round and Round (the tune that played during The Playable Awards) is one of my new favourite tracks now. So fun and groovy!
Seeing magic cat academy made me happy, then I was immediately depressed learning it wasn't an hd port. I know people who would actually die for that cat, this is not hyperbole.
so I randomly decided to play “find out” a few weeks ago. I got done with all the levels, then discovered they have a weird afk tycoon mode…? you can collect artifacts from each level, and then those generate income in your museum. anyways, it glitched after a few hours and gave me an infinite amount of money. I “completed” everything in a few minutes. clearly a high quality game!
re: pretend players. there's a game called cyber hunters which is a moba cross-platform mobile/steam (which is kind of hilarious but the high elo meta isn't aim based so it almost doesn't matter later on when I started to get matched against the tryhards. funny when people were spectating me sniping though and I could tag people at max draw distance), it literally spawns in bots behind you or near you, sometimes literally popping into thin air, to give you the impression there is actually stuff going on. in a match with supposedly dozens of players usually maybe 4 or 5 are real players, so the only part of the game that feels real is near the end when the circle is really tight. it was just so funny... charlie played it and thought he was a god or whatever but it's just all bots. it's an interesting way to make you feel like you're good. the best part was that they weren't obviously bot names... they may have even been stolen from other players. just by the names alone and the randomized country flags, it would be hard to tell who was/wasn't real.
Browser games have been a life saver for me. I lost my Prevage to has any games other then this one (I kinda hate it now :[) and Ik what you might be thinking, “why don’t you just get games in secret and delete them before your parents find out?” It’s weird if they look at my battery usage or screen time and see 70% of it is on a deleted app. With UA-cam (which I can only use for crochet videos) I have a reason to be on it :) use some, or we’ll, a lot, are bad but some are good enough for me
It would have been easy just to make a tierlist and call it a day, but you went the extra mile and did some investigative journalism as well, great video
I was surprised originally, but I started paying the drawing wheels game (I used to play it already), as well as find the alien, and it’s just really fun to play these without ads and being on UA-cam just makes it feel weird and quirky
I did the exact same thing back in february with the intention of making my own video, but I couldn't come up with much to say about each game. I'm glad someone else made a video about them. Ludokarts was the worst one for me as well.
Having played plenty of ludo carts, or Sorry! as it’s proper English name is, I will say that it is significantly better when playing in person, usually with my grandparents for me. Each turn is normally around 5 seconds between roll and move, so it keeps up a super fast pace. Think more like 6 minute rounds instead of like 30.
Ludo, Sorry!, Trouble/Frustration, and Parcheesi are all trademarked versions of the ancient Indian game Pachisi. Ludo was the original English-language version, and Parcheesi was the first American version. Sorry! is probably the most different bc of the cards with special effects
me and my dad have youtube premium and found out youtube had games. i never saw the option pop up often so i never really used it, but my dad used it every couple days and i remember him liking it. i don't think games on youtube necessarily fit with the service itself, but it's not inherently bad as much as it is misguided
I know Gamesnacks from a game portal built into Google Play Games, I play a couple of the titles from time to time when I'm wasting time on the couch. My guess as to why they're on UA-cam and also to why they're so underdeveloped is that they're developed by Google so it's easy to just toss them on whatever infrastructure they have laying around.
15:59 fun fact: this is inspired by the Dutch (I don’t actually know if it originated from the Netherlands but it’s the only language I could find it in) board game: mens erger je niet (crude translation incoming; dude don’t take it seriously) and it is meant to be as annoying as possible by being so tedious. It also is so annoying when your lil guy gets taken to the start again.
They should make a section of these games just for preserving a number of Google Doodles and make it something that feels official. People love to go back to certain nostalgic doodles that had decent gameplay, so it'd drive a lot more people to playables tbh

As for monetization, and ads, well, UA-cam shorts were released without ads initially, they were added later. I'm absolutely certain that if these games stick around, you'll have to watch several, before, during, and after.

Ludo is an actual board game that has existed for something like a thousand years. Ludo Karts is just that game with a racing theme. The fact that it got dunked on in the awards section as "pretending its a board game" ie absolutely hilarious to me.
To be fair, the version in the playable removed every aspect of fun from the original
This is funny because "Ludo" is literally Latin for fun
@@thalia3057it removed everything that made the game fun, people.
@@thalia3057This is funny because there are no aspects of fun in Ludo
@@iwontbeforgotten You’ve never played with the right people
Ludo Carts is just the board game Sorry!, which at least has the entertainment value of a pop-o-matic die and the ability to stare into your younger sibling's cold, dead eyes and whisper your false remorse into their soul as you consign them to an additional ten minutes of suffering: Sorry!
That game is literally my childhood man
So, some corrections, I really don't wanna be that guy, "🤓" type shit, but:
A. Sorry! doesn't have the "pop-o-matic", what you're probably thinking of is Trouble, a game very similar to Sorry!
And B. Speaking of games similar to Sorry!, there is a real game named Ludo that Sorry! and Trouble are inspired by.
That is Ludo with carts. That game destroyed friendships.
I was thinking it was a version of Pasha/Pachisi/Paecheesi

What is good is you can play what would normally be an adfest cashgrab game with an ad blocker. Since I'm on mobile it lets me play the little mobile game things without having a different random app taking my data to mix colors or something.
I agree, very cool having all these games in one app without hogging a bunch of storage, and NO ADS, its an awesome lil timewaster
The games remind of the games they used to have on DirecTV
EXACTLYYYYY I get to try these stupid games without wasting space on my already full phone, and ad free. It’s silly and I enjoy it and I like wasting time with them.
I loved the mix colors from JPEGs game but damn it was filled with ads! The icing in the cake was realizing I could download a transparent makeup pallet and mix the colors myself in Ibis Paint lmao
instead it’s youtube taking your data, which doesn’t really matter since it already has it!
You have cursed me with doing a daily crossword for the last week
The us daily also gives you cross words, I guess. That one seemed really simple

I recommend everyone check out Drift Stage Volume 1 by Myrone because it's so good it introduced me to the game rather than the other way around.
care to elaborate a bit on the tragic backstory?
So I can play phone trashy games without the ads? 10/10 feature of UA-cam

ludo cars is an actual board game and in dutch it is called: ''mens erger je niet'' which gets translated to ''man dont get annoyed''
appropriate title
I also think its called frusturation in UK, i remember owning it.
I was watching it confused like "wait that's just sorry with cars"
Same thing here in Germany
I hate ludo
15:57 That's actually a board game called ludo (hence why the playable is called ludo karts), and as soon as I saw that game, I immediately recognized it as a (way more generic looking) board game that I used to play as a kid. Everything you described, except the cards,is in the original board game, even the need to roll a six to get out. Oh, and believe me, it's way more fun with friends, because you get to sabotage each others progress. Playing the game with a bunch of bots on the other hand... now that's depressing.
I also have that board game.
Gotta love how he dunks on the bad reskinned board game so much but says the fucking idle game is pretty good.
@@The-S-H3lf-Eater to be fair, the board game just drags on if you play with no friends, so I don't blame him.

Tbh when I wanna play cut the rope I just use my 3DS
Ludo Karts is a board game that I used to play with my parents and aunt, the boardgame was called "non ti arrabbiare" (it translates to "don't get angry") and only difference is that once you do a full loop of with your pawn that pawn is taken off the board and the first one who remains with no pawns wins...

So I'm not crazy! Awesome

Frrr sometimes I want to play those games but I can’t bc my phone is too full and I hate ads so it’s actually nice
The mere thought of these existing gives me similar vibes to a 6 year old asking me if I have any games on my phone(and I don't even have a phone).
Tomb of the mask was almost an amazing game rendered near unplayable because you’ll get an ad 2-4 times a level

I'm so glad I wasn't the only one that was so confused when the youtube playables came up in my feed. Thanks for the enlightenment with these.
These have literally been showing up in my front page, and not just in the sidebar

Angry Birds showdown is actually a UA-cam playables port of angry birds for Facebook messenger, the Facebook messenger Version has actual multiplayer unlike the UA-cam playables version
8:52 draw climber could actually be asynchronous multiplayer. you aren't directly interacting with your opponent, so it might just take your "solution" to the track and replay it for other people under your name. maybe not on desktop. or mobile. who knows if youtube playables even support any kind of multiplayer...

re: pretend players. there's a game called cyber hunters which is a moba cross-platform mobile/steam (which is kind of hilarious but the high elo meta isn't aim based so it almost doesn't matter later on when I started to get matched against the tryhards. funny when people were spectating me sniping though and I could tag people at max draw distance), it literally spawns in bots behind you or near you, sometimes literally popping into thin air, to give you the impression there is actually stuff going on. in a match with supposedly dozens of players usually maybe 4 or 5 are real players, so the only part of the game that feels real is near the end when the circle is really tight.
it was just so funny... charlie played it and thought he was a god or whatever but it's just all bots. it's an interesting way to make you feel like you're good.
the best part was that they weren't obviously bot names... they may have even been stolen from other players. just by the names alone and the randomized country flags, it would be hard to tell who was/wasn't real.
