    My 79 has sported a 351 since 1987 the 351 was out of 71 LTD the engine laughed a rod threw the block so now it has a 351 out of a 1983 f250 but when I pulled the engine and steamed cleaned it turned out to a crate 351 I pulled the value costs and oil pan to verify my suspicion.so I installed that back 2009 and it sports a T 5 and it's been a fun fun car! I have had this car since 1984it was my high school car and I have kept all of these years and still drive today!😊

      Don't put the cheap maxpeedingrods (or comparable) link bars in it. I just got done building a mexican block about a month ago and use them. 5 bent and broken valves and fucked up one of my brand new 11r heads.

      Other than moving the air temp sensor over to the intake tube (Super Vic and most others don't have factory hole in port #5) it should be the same?

    • @Hidden10sGarage
      @Hidden10sGarage  5 років тому

      I honestly did it because normal longtubes for 351w with highports are stupid expensive. All I did was take speed engineering turbo manifolds and cut the head flange off and weld off trick flow highport head flanges. It obviously snowballed into what it is now lol

    Hey Bud, I'm really struggling with an Idea. I have a .030 351 9.5 Deck height. My problem is roller Rockers. I have a set of ported Iron Heads with 1.94 Intake and 1.60 Exhaust Manley Tapered valves and 428CJ Valve springs on 302 stock FORD Heads. They have a regular Ford Rocker 1.6 Ratio. My Cam is an Edelbrock, 520 Lift I believe 292 Duration. ...I want to get 1.7 ration Roller rockers. Any Chance their going to hit the piston. can I install 1 and just turn the motor by hand. I believe It's going to give me more lift and duration...Like the Cobra 302!!!

    • @Hidden10sGarage
      @Hidden10sGarage  5 років тому

      Put a piece of clay on the piston and bolt the head and rocker down and turn the motor over and check the clearance of the mark in the clay. I think you need like 80 (might want to fact check this) thousandths on a hydraulic roller.

    95 block, cemented/sealed, 408w stroker, insanely precisely balanced rotating assembly, heavily machined block, gonna go for mark miller’s stock block ford record. wanting to make 1200-1400 hp. possible and decently reliable hp numbers?

      @robertelmo7736 3 роки тому

    • @Hidden10sGarage
      @Hidden10sGarage  3 роки тому

      I think unless you go dart iron eagle (I think, whatever one has 4 bolt on all 5 mains) its gonna be hard to have a 1400 reliable block. Might be able to get sway with a dart shp but I know a guys who's cracked 3 shps, but he also makes over 2k lol. I think if the rotating assembly is neutral balanced, girdle everything you can, and a fully filled block may be able to. But hell that's a big maybe haha. Keep me posted! I'd love to find out how it works out for ya!

      Hidden 10s Garage The 351C had the same bell housing bolt pattern as the 289/302/351W (early 289, and 221/260 had 5 bolt pattern). 351M/400 had the same pattern as big block 429/460.

    • @robertelmo7736
      @robertelmo7736 3 роки тому

      That's a myth, you have to put reducing washers on the heads to make them fit a 351W head.
      I think the bigger 11R heads are the best for a 351, to be honest.

    • @Hidden10sGarage
      @Hidden10sGarage  5 років тому +2

      Depends how crazy you're gonna get. If you're doing a badass stroker and everything else new, get a 69-70 block. They have more nickel and therefore they're stronger. If you're just gonna make a street motor and just wanna throw a roller cam in it and few other things then I'd get a f4te block.

    • @mesomorfo
      @mesomorfo 5 років тому +1

      Thank you for the reply! I am planning on a street car with no more than 500HP to the wheels. I will get a 69-70 block! Very appreciated it!@@Hidden10sGarage

    • @Hidden10sGarage
      @Hidden10sGarage  5 років тому

      If you're only going for 500 then any block should be fine. The biggest thing is making sure the rotating assembly is balanced correctly. 0 balance if you can and pushing it a lot further than 500 would be pretty easy

      1969-1974, 69-70 for the high nickel content blocks. ‘71-74’s are the “heavy” blocks, as they are around 10lbs heavier than the 351’s that came after ‘75 where they removed cast iron from around the main bearings to reduce weight. Just got a 1974 351 out of a cougar, going in my 94 GT along with a borg s475 and a T56.
