    For the guys out there where the fuel pump relay is in the passenger side fender, the connector with the red wire that triggers the fuel pump may or may not exist. There's a green plug with a green wire in the passer side kick panel with a yellow stripe that splices out to three. Those three wires trigger the fuel pump. You can connect the green wire from the Holley kit to one of the spliced green wires with the yellow stripe and it will work. Although the Termi X harness already has a relay I still wired in another 40 amp relay just for peace of mind.

    @7:35 DO NOT ATTACH THE RED BATTERY POSITIVE LEAD ANYWHERE EXCEPT THE BATTERY! DIRECT TO THE BATTERY, NOT TO A STARTER SOLENOID, NOT TO A JUNCTION/DISTRIBUTION POST
    DIRECTLY TO THE BATTERY!
    Follow the Holley instructions, they are there for a reason. Attaching the main power leads anywhere but the battery is asking for problems.

    Great video !! Only small thing is.... holley says like 12 times in the instructions that the main power needs to goto the battery positive and battery negative DIRECTLY ON THE BATTERY. I hope you never find out how touchy these holley ECU’s are, but I’m shocked no one has mentioned it.
    For anyone using this as a guide, put the main power/grounds DIRECTLY on the battery.
    Again, really awesome you took the time to post this to help everyone :)

      It's to avoid RF noise. Feel free to connect your power wire directly to the battery terminal. Mine works great with it connected directly to the battery cable at the starter solenoid, but if you want to connect yours directly to the battery, go for it!

    • @bryanleverett2830
      @bryanleverett2830 4 роки тому

      FixBody Mustangs the battery dampens surges in the electrical system that holley says can damage the ecu. Holley also says “If you don’t hook them up directly to the battery, and you have a ecu fail, don’t even call us”. All the people that do this professionally go bananas ( search “Devon holley” on UA-cam) when they see the main power hooked up anywhere but the battery. Now..... can you act like holley are just saying to be jerks and you know better than the company that built it, and it work? Sure. You just did. But if you ecu stops connecting in 2 months and the car won’t start, don’t be mad at holley when you mail them the ecu and they say, “It’s bad. It’s not covered under warranty because it was clearly hit with a power surge”. I’m not saying YOU shouldn’t do it how ever you want. I would say, prob not great to tell everyone watching this to disobey a corner stone of what holley says like 8 times in the instructions (I guess for no reason, lol).

    @7:05 THIS IS NOT A SELF TUNING/SELF LEARNING SYSTEM - THERE IS NO SELF TUNING SYSTEM AVAILABLE!
    All the ECU does is follow your commanded/targeted AFR (air fuel ratio).
    There is no computer out there that can "self tune" an engine, that's it.. there's no such thing available.
    You still have to tell the ECU what you want it to do at idle, at part throttle & at wide open throttle.

    curious.. i didnt see options for 60 # injectors . MSD, or larger MAF?

    • @Mustang-Geek
      @Mustang-Geek  4 роки тому

      Not sure what the max injector size is, but you can select a bunch of different injectors. Holley 48 lb/hr are listed. If by "MSD" you mean ignition, the Terminator X works with any external box like an MSD. I don't have one...just the stock TFI. There is no MAF with the Terminator X. The Terminator X is speed density with wideband O2 feedback.

      You don't have to worry about it. None of the chassis electrical system is affected. If you use the diagram here, gauges and everything work as they did with the factory ECU. ua-cam.com/users/postUgyMR72JMcb7LD1LlsF4AaABCQ

    Hello there sir and great video BTW but I'm unsure about one part...how to retain and wire oem coil. Old harness is out and followed the wires coming from the coil. I see how the neg side goes to tfi and main harness and 110 conn so just run tfi wire to white wire on holley and cut the other and plug the 110 in? Pos goes to 110, 2 wires to tfi and 1 to a relay by kick panel. How do I wire it to get spark? And I assume keep the inline fuse with it with the grounds that are close by??

      @@Mustang-Geek ok so understanding idea here. I know coil operation is a simple concept just not very smart on wiring issues. So turning key sends signal through the 110 into the coil giving spark and neg keeps my tach gauge working. Just one more thing, one of the red pos wires goes from coil to a relay in kick panel by the old ecu. Do I retain that? Just dont wanna damage any components or fry something lol!

    • @Mustang-Geek
      @Mustang-Geek  3 роки тому

      @@jasonvitagliano6267 I think I removed that relay and connected it to the Holley red/white. Turn on the key and see if there is power to the red/green wire in the kick panel.

    I’m debating on getting the kit I have a 1986 thunderbird with the 5.0 in it right now it’s speed density but I have the mass airflow harness to change it to mass air but I was going to make it a strip car so I wanted to get away from the old computer and get a nice upgrade instead of just getting a a9l computer what would need I have to do to make it work it’s basically a fox

    • @Mustang-Geek
      @Mustang-Geek  4 роки тому

      If you're going to make it a "strip car," I assume this won't be a stock engine. This is EXACTLY what the Terminator X is designed for. The Terminator X will be a lot less headaches in the long run than the factory computer. Especially considering that the factory computer's capacitors are on borrowed time, if they haven't failed already. I'd go with the Terminator X without hesitation.

      I don't know to be honest. You can also use the free laptop software to put the specs in for your injectors. I'd google that.

    I'm confused on the green wire for the fuel pump without bypassing it threw c216 what wire on the stock fuel pump relay do I tap it into it's on a 91 gt as well

    • @Mustang-Geek
      @Mustang-Geek  4 роки тому +1

      The green wire from the relay goes directly to the fuel pump, so you'd be connecting the green wire from the Holley harness to the green wire coming out of the relay connector. Here's a diagram: www.dropbox.com/s/p8e4hsq9ohuqbhy/014-holley-terminator-x-foxbody-mustang-install.jpg?dl=0

    I rather buy a Pro-M Racing kit. I just think that using a mass air flow to measure lambda seem more accurate and it uses two wide band gauges as it reads both banks. It also eliminates the tfi module that always goes bad

    • @Mustang-Geek
      @Mustang-Geek  Місяць тому

      A few things: The MAF doesn't measure lambda. It measures air mass. Same can be done via a MAP and air temp sensor. The Terminator X has on O2 sensor, yes, but it's a wide band and does a fine job unless there's something wrong with your engine. You can add a secondary wide bad as well, if I recall correctly.

    Are you using the MAF ?

    • @Mustang-Geek
      @Mustang-Geek  4 роки тому

      No, the MAF is not used with the Holley system. I'm just "using" the MAF as an air filter adapter.

    • @Mustang-Geek

      The Holley Terminator X can more easily accommodate engine modifications including camshafts, different injectors, superchargers, turbos, and nitrous. The old EEC-IV needed a "chip" which aren't really available from many tuners these days.
