God bless you and Teresa.I see you shoulder is Better. I wish your shop was up here in the northeast. So you could repair our transmissions that need service.
Wish I was down there as can’t get anyone to put a transmission in my 96 f150 . So this old retired guy will be putting in a transmission on a dirt driveway and pray it doesn’t snow . Getting too old for this crap.
I have the same tranny 4l60e, but the 97 1500 truck version. I have the same forward sun gear stuck with damaged gears. I can't believe there is not a tool to remove damaged and locked gears like this. this is my first auto trans rebuild, although I have done other major auto rebuilds. If you run into another such repair with this type of damage, please do a video on getting this area apart.
Do you think you will ever share your knowledge of reassembling transmissions? I have learned alot by watching your videos on tear downs. Thank you for bring us along in your profession.
from what i remember, i unfollowed a long time ago because they were going to make those videos paid only. I dont know if they ever did that but it might be why we dont see any of those
@@richardteresacricheducatio3542my guess would be that it's ok. It withstands gasoline, all kinds of oils too. Cleans off easily with brake kleen if necessary.
I have a 94 silverado 5.7. How can I tell if I have a 700r4 or 4l60? Without dropping the trans. Everyone keeps telling me 4l60e but I bought a 2000s model and it didn't fit.cause the transfer case is different. Idk if I answered my own question there but I would appreciate the help
I've grown to believe Richard's last name is Backatcha
"This is Richard back atcha" always makes my day.
Greetings from Washington State to you Richard, Theresa and Annie. My big "Steve Morris Wagon" is still running great. Thanks again for everything.😎👍
Glad to hear that and thank you for trusting us for your transmission needs
So glad you are back! I really missed watching your videos! A true professional
Original transmission, 140,000 miles. Richard's transmission, 300,000 miles! Great job, sir!
Im at 187000 on mine currently, need to do a fluid/filter service on it.
This trans is a testament to how well you build them.
Impressive build longevity Richard!
Richard this is the first time that I have seen you with one of your builds that's got to be a good advertisement for your business love your videos
Great video
I fly jets for a living. The auto transmission has always been fascinating. He is the the Best on UA-cam ! Glad he’s back
Like the attitude Richard, never give up, there’s always a way. Great close up Photography!
Pretty good mileage on a 4l60e when built correctly. Nice job guys
When serviced correctly and not modifying the engine for more than 360 ft lbs of torque at the crank

It’s going to be cool seeing you climb up to 100k subs
Deafly gonna take some work. Hopefully we can get there.
Those speed sensors are still available aftermarket I’m sure but there’s tons of them on the Internet and eBay and probably Amazon too
400K miles, lol. I love it when guys say 4l60e's never last long
When serviced correctly and not modifying the engine where it produces more that 360 foot pounds of torque at the crank, yes.

Richard you should try A “Texas twister” tool for your air hammer! Might can make something for your applications. 👍
Great video.
Thanks for sharing

Good morning Richard and Teresa and Annie 🐕 you can do it Richard you can get it out lol 😂😂😂
love your videos!!
I've got a '94 suburban with a 4l60e 172,000 miles. but it's shifting pretty hard in all the gears. guess its time for a rebuild
Neoprene, is correct.
Regarding the silicone on the pump surface. Have you ever tried using a case half sealer like they do on motorcycle cases, etc?
No sir I have not. I did not know how it would react with transmission fluid.
@@richardteresacricheducatio3542my guess would be that it's ok. It withstands gasoline, all kinds of oils too. Cleans off easily with brake kleen if necessary.
Would a 4l60 live behind a stockist 6.2L? Just a cam. Or would it cost 5 grand in bullet parts to make it live?
The 4L60E handles up to 360 foot pounds of torque at the crank.
BACKATCHA
What would this teardown, diagnosis and rebuild roughly cost to the average customer?

Weren't those 700s in 94...? Thanks, keep up your awesomeness...
I believe the last year of the 700R4 was 1994. Started with them in 1981 if I remember correctly.
@Garth2011 thanks...I was thinking 96 or later... thanks
My '94 Buick has a 4L60E. Richard rebuilt it. I believe they were first on 1993, at least in Buick Roadmasters.
@@kurtisstutzman70561993 might have been the last year of the 700R4. Both are very similar however.
No 4L60, which is an Electronic version of the 700R4
How do I get a 4l60e built from you?
What years will fit the 94 twd with 4.3
Is your son still running your old shop in town?
Still?🤔
He never did.
