Just installed the custom resonator plugs you sent me, thanks a bunch they were a perfect fit! Great idea to keep it clean in case I want to go back to factory. Now I’m installing the prl intake, wish me luck. Thanks!!
Some vestiges of the old Honda are still alive! Thanks to your videos, I ended up with a 24 Sport hatch...with the CVT. At least it's the same color. I love the car. So far so good. The only big issue I had was self-inflicted. When I replaced the reverse and turn signal bulbs (the same ones used on my 10th gen), I ended up popping two fuses on the BCM, which freaked out the car. What's worse, whoever did a hard reset failed to tighten the positive cable. Either way, Im happy with mine.
I give you a thumbs up for your presentation! After watching, I don't think I'd bother with any intake on this car. The OEM piece seems well designed to me, and, I can't pick up a significant difference in tone! The only mods I'm contemplating is a 93 octane tune and possibly lowering it an inch. When I destroy the OEM wheels, (inevitable on NYC roads), I will upgrade to a lower weight wheel/tire combo. End of mods for this car!
Hey man, I really appreciate you taking the time to explain why you decided to go with a dry filter. I thought I was the only "crazy" one that is more concerned with filtration over airflow for my daily drivers. Were you able to find any test data about the Injen filters in their ability to filter? I've always read they are good, but have never found any real data. I am currently using an AFE dry filter and it seems to be working pretty good. I am also curious as to how much actual wear an oiled higher flowing filter actually causes. Considering the hundreds if not thousands of owners out there running these style of filters for hundreds of thousands of miles. Either way, it doesn't hurt to err on the side of safety and go with a nice dry filter. Good video!
I bought and installed the K&N typhoon intake for the 11th gen 2.0 and I absolutely love it, it’s open box unlike the PRL and a little cheaper at 300 dollars, sounds amazing
Right now I have the Stage 1 intake kit from PRL (which is the same as this, but it only comes with the inlet hose and upgraded drop in filter) and the stock resonator deleted. I was thinking of upgrading to the PRL HVI box and cone filter since you can buy all the parts separately on their website, but if it's only a slight bump in intake noise, I'm gonna pass for now. Thanks for sharing and making my decision easier!
Yeah, imo keep your setup, not worth the extra money . Be mindful of that oiled air filter though. I’d consider going back to an oem style filter if I were you
I'm actually gonna drop the stock one back in for now. Didn't realize how sketchy the oiled filters were. It made no difference in the induction noise anyway. Only the inlet tubing changed the sound a bit.
Hy NAUS! I just got brand new 2024 honda civic sport hatchback (automatic) today in sonic gray. I was looking for a sedan. But as every guy that looks for the reviews video before buying anything, I came to your vids and watching your car, the hatchback really grew on me. let’s hope I don’t have to face the hatch leak or bolt loose of the transmission in future 😅. But anyway I’ll be watching your video for any mod’s I’ll adding on car.
Very good video and great instal tutorial as well. And for the tips on using the ingen filter. My daughter doesn't drive that much so should be good for a little while... she don't beat up cars as bad as me!!
I just changed the air filter itself and saved myself all the fluff. But I get it. People want it to look like it makes a difference. Great video as always. - by the way don’t get an oiled air filter - specially you turbo civics. 😉
Good move on the dryflow filter. Maf sensors are very easy to fowl with an even slightly over oiled filter. I wish the kit came with a hinge on the box for easier filter change.
My touring hatchback sonic gray is hitting a year sitting in the garage with 90 miles 18miles from purchase lol Just took it around the block a mile to warm it up 😅
Thanks for another great video with easy to follow instructions. Switching out the included filter for the upgraded one for more protection and to prevent rusting is very wise! Did you ever do this mod on your 8th gen civic?
The next time you have the airbox out, do yourself a favor and change the trans fluid to Ravenol MTF-2. Much easier to shift when cold, and when warm, the shifter clicks into gear much smoother than whatever Honda puts in.
Very organized, well thought out install. The air filter you spec’d is a must do, thank you! Are you doing anything with exhaust? I’m considering a cat-back system, with a glass resonator. Maybe I’ll get 160 BPH - lol!
If someone came out with a clean single exit and quite deep mature tone I’d consider it. Problem is no one has made a rear diffuser to support a clean single exit yet . People that hang the cans under the stock rear sport diffuser I think is hideous
Do these Hondas with the naturally aspirated engine have a rear engine motor mount? I noticed the engine was moving a ton when you were getting on it, obv I know it’s no sports car but it made my 18 Si so much smoother back in the day
You can hear the engine more when you stab the throttle, so it may make the experience feel like it’s more responsive, but definitely a placebo. The only way to improve response would be a remap on the ECU (Ktuner) or similar
It’s more restrictive than an oiled filter yes, but this one has significantly more surface area than the oiled filter to negate that. Dryflow actually does its job and filters the air. It’s still less restrictive than the stock air filter. Were you tuned with the oiled air filter then switch to a dry flow and noticed the fuel trims change? If custom tuned that could have a lot to do with it
I just bought some black RFP1s 8” rims w/ 235/45/17 tires for mine. I will probably try to make a vid on the switch once I swap em out. Interested to know your take on that.
@@NAUS2K sucks. Used 10th is an option (lots of available 6mt with k20c2), but i feel that gen needs a more beefy front end for track use. Wish they had an Si with K20c2 engine, so that chassis/suspension structure wouldn’t be an issue if you were to make it into dedicated track car. 1.5T not ideal since it’ll have to quit the track after a few laps and K20C2 can go all day long.

@@NAUS2K you can hook an OBD scanner that is capable of reading your engine temperature willing running and tested with stock setup and aftermarket setup this usually happens because your air temperature sensor reads different suck a little cooler air and raise the engine temperature so check it out

I’m not sure, reach out to PRL to see if so!
Ngl I just got a 2024 civic with a 2.0 and I swear the motor mounts come from factory shot lol. They suck.
👍
I'm own 2017 and is more quick than 2024 honda
0-60 in 7 seconds ain’t bad
Did I miss a 0-60?
@@brenthall6554 when he turns into the highway, I counted 7- might be wrong.
Hi Friend, Your vids are awesome!
We specialize in the production of automotive radiators, heat exchangers, and cooling system components.
I've been watching your videos on UA-cam and really like your content.
We're wondering if we could collaborate. Would you like to put our products to the test and review them on your channel?
K&N filter probably flow better in my opinion
Better than what? The PRL? They are basically the same thing, incredibly thin filtration media coated in oil
This is all about sound your not getting any extra power and your engine runs hotter with that filter unless you take it to the dyno
Please explain how this air filter is causing the engine to run hotter…
@@NAUS2K you can hook an OBD scanner that is capable of reading your engine temperature willing running and tested with stock setup and aftermarket setup this usually happens because your air temperature sensor reads different suck a little cooler air and raise the engine temperature so check it out
Both the stock intake and this intake use the same air duct to the front grill. The intake air temps will be identical. An air filter doesn’t change the temperature of the air
All that effort time & money spent for what? I really don't see any changes whatsoever with sound wise. And I don't really foresee any performance improvement either. This is just some gimmick that aftermarket manufacturers do to sell stuff for car enthusiasts wanting to improve their ❤ vehicle's worth. 😅
I don't hear no shssssst, pssst
It’s not a turbo
