Honda actually makes a pretty solid CVT just service it at 30k intervals and you’ll be fine. The HRV was the only one that had a batch of recalled ones. I’m a Tech at a dealer BTW so just giving you info to ease your mind on reliability.
If your on bolt ons do you think transmission oil change should be earlier? And Ive heard amsoil cvt fluid is good for these cars moded, or the oem oil works just fine? Too many questions haha took a opportunity to as you 😅

Imagine how much faster the zero to 60 would be if it had an 8 speed or something, I’m pretty sure programmed the car to limit torque when launching so the band doesn’t break because it kept you locked below 3k rpm’s for a long time on the launch

If you are going to buy ktuner for your k20c2 car, I would recommend buying the ktuner +pherable tune bundle. You get a much better tune than basemap for just an extra 50 dollars, and pherable can change the tune for your car, depending on what bolt ons you list when you order the tune.
it’s a lot easier to just slide your phone into the space between the intake and the ECU to take a picture of the number. That’s what phearable tells you to do when you buy one of their custom e-tunes and it only took me 10 seconds after popping the hood
I did have to take my phone case off and it felt a little sketchy since iPhones are pretty slippery but the few seconds of anxiety were worth the time save 🤣

My 24 Sport just gets stuck on "preparing" and then doesn't erase the ECU, then goes to pressing ok after the power restart. I cannot find any info anywhere on why this is.

@ashergorman6212 not dumb at all bro, nope no need to keep it there. You only need it to be plugged in if you're going to make changes on the computer. But other than, you can take it out and your car will stay tuned 👍🏻

Bro trust me I had a 2.0l civic fbo it was k tuned for 80k miles it will not do anything bad it will make ur car drive way better than stock, make sure stay on the oil changes and TRANSMISSION fluid every 30k miles

1. You don't have to tune it because of an intake or exhaust. You can get an intake and exhaust without tuning it and it won't void your warranty as long as it isn't the cause of an engine related issue. I've had my intake and exhaust on for more than half a year and my warranty is still good 👍🏻

they will flag your car, and they can tell even if it’s been flashed back to stock, but I don’t think they always check. If everything seems normal they just perform the service and it’s not an issue

@zoinks5717 either way works. If you get an intake and downpipe. Give or take you'll get an engine light code cause of the downpipe, which is normal and can be taken care of with a tune. If you go with a tune, that'll work just fine and if you get the downpipe and intake later you'll have the tune handy for that engine light so it'll work both ways. Just see what works better with your budget if anything 👌🏻
@nreuom a tune is a last type of mod you should do, if you plan on getting an intake, exhaust, and other performance mods. Since the more you add to the engine, the tune is there to help your car run better and smoother with all of those mods on. So no, you don't need a tune if you're only getting an intake or exhaust, but if you want the most hp gain then the tune will be your best friend. 👍🏻

The original test from honda came in at 8.8 seconds 🐌 I have yet to test mine, which I should've done in this video 😅. So I'll have to test it and see, but I'm sure it isn't that much of a difference in time since the 2.0L wasn't really built to be fast, but more eco friendly & comfortable. Compared to the 10th Gen Civic Sport, that was faster stock than the 11th gen stock. 😭

@zoinks5717 based on all the performance mods the hp addition should be around 200ish hp. Which is yes not a lot, but it's still a 50hp addition compared to stock 🔥

Check out the CivicX page, tuning the 2.0L even with FBO won’t really touch much reliability, the K20C2 won’t make enough torque to blow the CVT. The 1.5Ts on the other hand wiil

Yes, it can still work. Althoigh having other performance mods will further improve your tune(but isn't necessary) 👍🏻

@Nikeel-of6xj according to Ktuner's page it is recommended to run 91+. But I don't think it's required, so running 87 should be fine.

My experience a Prl Intake, rv6 downpipe and the ktune tune will get you around 200hp past then you’ll have to fabricate a turbo kit
