Just followed these instructions to install the Plus duct add on to this intake. Hardest part for me was securing the 2nd ring connecting the duct to the intake box. Thank you so much for the detailed instructions. It was really helpful!
Im still debating on getting the "plus" kit. Im most curious if it makes any difference to the sound, vs the HVI without the "plus" kit. I live in Michigan which only really sees mid 80s for a few months, then its mostly 50s/60s and 4+ months of winter. I dont track the car, just highway driving. So i feel heatsoak wouldnt be too much of a thing if I opt to get PRLs new short-ram for the 2022 civic for louder sounds. But part of me thought maybe because the "plus" adds another 3" port/scoop, maybe it'll add some noise volume too and be more on-par?
Awesome details and installed the PRL cold Air intake duct. Air temperature should be going down as bit but it should be keeping the intake cool down. 😁👍
6:48 Hey thanks for this video! At 6:48, how was removing the 3 plastic rivets? I wrecked the rivets on the stock airbox and don’t want to wreck the PRL ones to install the Duct! Thanks!!
I have a 23 civic hatchback sport touring like watching your vids just that I’m not sure if my car engine bay is different than yours. By looks they do look the same.
And oh i went to the prl website to try and purchase their HVI. Is it necessary to buy the resonator plug? Is it needed? Or the car will be fine without the plug and just the HVI itself
My IAT is around 120F with the PRL HVI plus the this add on, how do I bring those temps down. Currently 33F where I am and I was idling when I saw these temps something is definitely wrong.
Could you give me more information on which exact 10mm bolt you used for the lower CAI bracket piece please? I removed the intercooler resonator too and threw it away. 😑
I never got a custom tune but not a whole lot of horsepower increase, the intercooler is more for consistency instead of doing a few laps or rune and being heat soaked, and air intakes are good for managing some heat at well when they can intake some colder air but nothing too crazy on horse power. You probably won’t notice much of a change especially on stock turbo and tune.
There's a slight rattling that I hear in my SI and I heard it in that audio clip of the intake too. It's as the revs come down but I be panicking when I hear it. I was told it's normal but always nervous regardless
Yo Bro imma get a lease on the 2022 civic imma have a warranty and I’m wondering what can I do to my car like performance and physical wise that wont flag my warranty
Warranty 👨🏽🦯 never heard of her? 😂 lmao jk bro. Honestly man, I can’t give too much advice on that. If you modify the engine in any way and something goes wrong the dealership will try to blame it on you for having performance parts on the car. I don’t seem them giving you a hard time for an intake but you never know with dealerships and manufacturers man. Sorry it’s not much help but modifying your car is always a risk to your warranty. From what I heard you can have them prove that what you did to your car caused the damage. But obviously if you break something during install it’s on you. So if you’re really worried about it I wouldn’t do too much. Intake and exhaust is probably as far as I would go, but again I can’t promise they won’t give you a hard time about it
I know it's a year late but you may want to read up on the Magnuson Moss Warranty Act. It's supposed to protect your warranty as long as the dealer can't DEFINITELY prove your upgrade caused the cars issue
@@Chef_RM haha idk how much sound you’re looking for 😅 I enjoy the sound out of mine. If you just want the turbo noises then the short ram is the way to go and if you want less heat soak in days you really push the car then the HVI would be the better option. 🤷🏻♂️ I don’t have a short ram to be able to compare
@@lui.racing I would definitely like more sound, but not at the cost of performance. I’ve heard that many people are happy with the HVI and cold air setup since it still has more noise than stock. How much more noise would you say it has? Rn I can only hear my turbo if I don’t have any music playing at all
Did you get a CEL when you installed the duct? For some reason I got a CEL and I’m worried I did something wrong. I followed every step so I don’t see where I could’ve gone wrong. I’m going to drive around for now and hope the light goes away. Auto rev match and blind spot monitor also disabled for some reason lol🫠
No I did not get a CEL. I’d double check all connectors are connected if you disconnect the MAF sensor and that it’s installed properly. If you disconnected the battery it will take some time for everything to come up again. I hope everything returns back to normal

Glad I could help!
thanks so much man! always excited when you post new content
Thanks for always coming back man! 🙌
Lol PRL said it themselves that they have been messing with CAI over 10 years with plenty of rain and never once hydro locked
Solid vid bro keep it up
Appreciate that bro! 🤜🤛
I wonder how much more performance for each? Awesome to share your progress. I love my 2023 Integra Elite a spec Canada 🇨🇦 version MT.
Car Sounds clean brother 🤩

i think the air intake duct is the most overlooked piece of the cold air intake upgrade..a direct airflow to the box
Would it not also work to just drill a hole intake box and not get the duct extension?
@@A-GoldenBarThe duct sucks in air from the front of the car by the wheel housing. Drilling a hole wouldn’t do anything because air can’t get to it
Great video and break down ! Can’t wait to order for my Si 👍

Not hard at all, you can get more on Amazon

I don’t think there’s many differences if any across engines bay set ups. Thanks for supporting 🙌
Fire editing and instructions.

Aye I just got my intake for the 2.0 do yk if pro made one for it?
Damn this makes me want to pickup a 3/8th speed ratchet so bad sitting there, all pretty and ish. Also, great video brotha.
My man! Thank you! And that thing is both amazing and dangerous 😅😂
so does this extra duct provide more horse power?
Really wish you showed or logged iat from the before & after. But good vid 👍🏼

Which one would do you prefer, which one performs better ?

Lol idk dude, it’s a civic so rattles will happen as the car gets more mileage on it 🥲

Isn’t this intake not yet available?
Hopefully soon 🤞
Still waiting for that first wave of shipments 😢
@@ZakDavis I saw a post that their shipping out today
@@lui.racing yo I just saw that on their stories 🫡 good looks man
Are you tuned and if so what tuner did you go with ?
Not tuned, just an one of Ktuner maps
Now im regretting ordering that 😂😂
Great video
Thank you!
Which is better? The short ram intake? Or the high volume that you have?
Lol I don’t have a short ram to test.

Do you need to remove the front bumper to install the duct?
No you don’t.
Wooshhhhhhh
Thinkin of buying an intake for my hatch but im split between the cobra cai and the hv intake. which one do you think I should go with?
Might as well do the HV with the intake duct
I’d personally do the HVI with this inlet duct. It’s not as loud as the Cobra, but I like the cleaner look that it has in the engine bay.
Is this worth doing just for sound?
Or should I look into the new prl short ram intake?
@@Chef_RM the short ram intake will more than likely produce more sound. But intake temps might go up from it
@@lui.racing so if I choose to go with t the HVI plus cold air intake, is that the best balance of sound and performance?

Is it necessary to take off the bumper to install the lower air duct?
