This looks like a well financed operation! Wish I had that sort of coaching and training. I self taught myself triple jump to make it to the state meet. I wonder what I could've done with a coach and these facilities.
Good coach. In middle school I ran the 100, 200, and I was second leg for the 4x1. Nobody wanted to to the 4x4 and I was indifferent about it so my coach chucked me in as anchor saying “you’re fast.” No training whatsoever, and I ran out of gas the last 100 while leading. A guy twice my height passed me on the last 50m. I blamed my self until I saw this video.
@Jake McCoy is right but I am going to add this I disagree slightly. This group can certainly make a coach look good, but being an athlete myself, and then a coach later in life, I have seen talent wasted with coaches that did not know what they are doing. My AAU (I was coaching) track team shared a practice track with an "elite" high school traveling sprint team. They had some great athletes, but I watched them set blocks incorrectly. I watched weeks of practice with absolutely no system or strategy. I watched very strong sprinters work with absolutely horrible form with no input from the coach. So yes, a naturally strong sprinter can make a coach look good. But a poor coach can seriously prevent a great athlete from being excellent!
Jake McCoy is right but I am going to add this I wouldn’t say they are lazy. They were blessed with good athletes and were then praised by parents of relatively successful parents and peers. That led to a sense of superiority and an idea that what they were doing as coach’s was correct or creating success. It wasn’t laziness per se. it was just misguided.
Jake McCoy is right but I am going to add this Well in all fairness, the internet is full of garbage as well. And every athlete is different as well. Each responds to different types of training and different coaching styles. You really have to have a knack for coaching to each individuals strengths and minimizing weaknesses. You also have to understand how the body works, how to run each race, how to train for each race, how to rest and recover. You have to understand nutrition and how to organize a diet that works with specific workouts. There is a lot that goes into being a great coach and it takes a lot more than watching a few videos. So again, it’s not necessarily laziness. It’s just ignorance.
Jake McCoy is right but I am going to add this Did you not listen to his weekly breakdown or the workouts he had them do? Not to mention that he has a group of 10ish guys running 52-53 second 400s comfortably for practice. It’s one thing to have a couple guys/girls on a high school team that stand out and run impressive times. It’s completely different to have a large group all capable of times like this. 52 is my Balls to the Walls PR and these guys are “Nice and Smooth” Ing it in practice.....
Hayden Rose ikr my nice and smooth pace during practice is like 1:20
I love it just hate when the coach pick a favorite..They all can be the best if he treat them like they are all the best ..the no track hero's was lame as a coach. But it's cool just my input
Nice and smooth cameraman
The whole team is scary
Ran a 400 52 smooth TF I RUN A 52 WHEN I AT 100% AND IM 15 tf and I’m a fresh man he SENIOR HE IS WILD👏🏽 he a beast
I run a 49.99 and it’s my first year running track as senior! I wish I ran earlier tbh
That's a good track coach.
Matthew is one lanky guy lol. I didn't realize it until I followed his instagram.
He also reminds me of Bolt, starting out running the 400 and 4×400 and using his tremendous strides to carryover to his sprinting.
Alchemica Blackwood , fuck off why don’t you
@@professionalgamer1817 Well he's right lol.
Jake McCoy Well considering track sprinters are usually in the 5’8 range hes tall
Overlord , he’s the kinda guy that looks at a play and says “this is so fake”
Alchemica Blackwood , mate if it was that easy to be the world record holder then we would have under 9’s by now.
Update on his meal plan. Their coach seems very detailed orientated. My H.S coach just had us running hills, hills and more hills, hahaha We got our Walter Peyton on' back then.
my fastest was 52sec in the 400 and these guys run 53 in warmups ... LMAO
"We don't need any practice heroes" that's tuff to da MAX.
