    Dude you’re literally my inspiration. I broke my leg last season and missed all of indoor and outdoor but I’m finally running again!! I’ve been training for about a month and a half now and I’m definitely not as fast as I used to be which is super discouraging but watching you run definently motivates me a ton!!!!! Thank you for all you do❤

Seeing as a huge part of your success is due to help, intellect and support of those same Black lives, hope you don't fail to continue to speak out on injustice and inequality, now you're a pro. Dude Francique is right Matt was wobbling on those hill sprints. I feel like he gained a lot of muscle weight in his shoulder area while at UGA. Then he would tighten up late in races. Tight arms. Arm swings across and gritting his jaws. He needs to continue to work on relaxation.

      Sprinters who sprint short distances does he doesn’t he sprints the long 100meter and the even longer 200meter and the EVEN LONGER 400meter big differences between somebody who sprints 60 meters so yes some sprinters do only sprint short sprints

    4:52 - "Post-workout cold exposure may impede muscle growth, particularly after strength training, due to reduced inflammation and blood flow. However, it can aid same-day recovery for athletes by lessening soreness and enhancing perceived recovery. On the other hand, using a sauna after a workout can have several benefits for muscle growth and recovery. Heat exposure can improve cardiovascular health, mood, hormone levels, and athletic performance and recovery. Hence, the timing and context of both cold and heat exposures are crucial for maximizing workout benefits."

    Doing cold therapy 4 hours or less after you train will lower your recovery ability as it hampers the bodies ability to know it is inflamed. The reduction in inflammation due to cold therapy 4 hours or less after training will reduce recovery, as the body doesn’t have as ample signals to send recovery to the “less inflamed” this also happens when taking anti inflammatory meds after training

    • @jonahwantenaar2652
      @jonahwantenaar2652 10 місяців тому +2

      This is true for tissue recovery but what is often overlooked with this type of training is that it’s more focused on developing the nervous system. So while the cold decreases blood flow to the tissues (thus meaning insufficient or slower tissue repair) it also decreases soreness so that they can go into the next session and go all out as they’re not hindered by soreness.
      You’re right though. To call it a recovery tool as many people do is misleading. However, it is a useful tool for sports like sprinting when you need athletes to perform near maximal effort as often as their CNS will allow them too.
      Having said that, to further add to your point, over relying on cold therapy to manage soreness could in theory lead to a greater risk of injury if it is done too frequently as it allows athletes to push harder in spite of the fact that they’re stunting the development of their tissues. I would think although it’s useful it probably shouldn’t be utilized much outside of competitions.

    • @namesake7139
      @namesake7139 10 місяців тому +4

      Well said.... The biggest benefits of ice outside is the superstition that it works. And it delaying soreness. More useful in back to back competition

    • @marklego4750
      @marklego4750 10 місяців тому

      @@jonahwantenaar2652 yup, still would be more beneficial to wait many hours after training for cold therapy regardless. Although it isnt that much strength training
