My 3 sons 10/7/6 thought today’s track meet was a social event and didn’t think I’d mind. I shut it down after listening my jump and 100, told them to pack it up we're leaving. Went to the track back home and they did, 1600/2x800’s/3x400’s. Next time they will mean business instead of looking at butts beautiful women.. smh
Coach tell your athletes to bring water with watermelon or lemon in it especially on hot days take small sips. No eating three hours before practice you will lose your lunch. Take care of your body it will take care of you. ps at 67 I’m still doing track work outs .. Much Respect keep on training,,
Your boys are spoiled back in the day doing 24 23 low 22 on dirt track throw up and still finish the work out. You got to leave everything on the track in practice, Meets are fun.. Keep training..
doing it for 200 or 400m is very common. Countless pros and D1 athletes can make it look like this. but do it for 800m and now you got one hell of a challenge
Hey , track athlete here….. 200s gone get you no matter the pace. You can run them In 34 seconds and you’ll still die if you run 6-8 with only a 2 minute rest
I don’t agree with this approach. He is a high level athlete and responds differently. If he were doing well, he would have been keeping up with Hudson-Smith and others

@@MrPanggs Of the top 10 800m runners of all time, TWO have a PB under 45, and one of them is Amos with a 44.99. So no, hardly any 800m runners can break 45 in the 400m. The amount to which middle distance runners overestimate their sprinting abilities never ceases to amaze me.

I agree. Considering that they're able to recovery/rest by sitting down rather than a recovery jog. To their credit, it's the first workout after the weekend. Who knows what they did on the weekend. Ha
bro whattttt it’s the consistency of reps maybe Steven’s body just wasn’t having it that day he is an Olympic gold medalist btw so you can’t say he’s to weak or anything of that sort

Keep uploading more sprinters workouts! These are gems, and I’m sure a lot of sprinters would love to learn what workouts pros/collegiate do!!!

can you start putting the date the workout was done somewhere in the video? thanks.

Great job Gordon!
look at these splits then look at David Rudisha's 800m world record and see how insane it is.

Old Clyde Hart style workout? 6*26s (2mins), would have come down from 7*27s, 8*28s earlier in the season?
