- Nell Cauliffe is a successful magazine writer with a blossoming political career. However, her world is torn apart when her husband, Adam, is killed by a massive explosion aboard his boat.
The police suspect murder, and immediately interview Adam's business associates, including ruthless property magnate, Peter Lang, with whom Adam was involved in a long running and potentially expensive disagreement.
Meanwhile, a mysterious phone call encourages Nell to visit a spirit psychic whose revelations only deepen the confusion. And an old employee with a dark past has secrets of his own to tell - a bitter realisation from which Nell won't escape.
They dont make them like this anymore a real pleasure to watch. no moral lessons or any political correctness. Just pure entertainment. Thanks for uploading,

jamie dingman I do too. Wish they'd make more movies of other books of theirs. There's other authors I'd love to see their books made into books. Fern Michaels, Dorothy Garlock,Sandra Dallas have some great books that would make good movies.

Peter Lang was played by Winston Rekert, a Canadian actor whom died in 2012. This was filmed in 2003. I remember him in shows in Canada growing up. He was a good actor and memorable.
Reading some of the comments, how can people be so rude, watch the movie or don't! Be nice even if you don't like the looks of the actresses, every person sees something different in someone else, one should look in the mirror and start criticizing what one sees about oneself...that would be a good start to selfanalizing...
I have to agree with a crucial part of the point you made. And that is it's better to look at oneself in the mirror to evaluate both good and bad traits in a spirit of criticism. It would very much improve our own perspective since everyone relatively sees something different in everyone else. And then we can with a better and more maturing self-analysis, see more clearly what many don't or fail to see in others. We then can see both objectively and subjectively.

Sean Young broke all the rules and paid dearly in her career.. Derailed by a bad relationship with James Woods, powerful leading actor loved by the studios. But Sean Young not so much. Trashed then dumped. Hope she saved her money! Loved her in A Kiss Before Dying with Joie Lee, the 1990s remake of the classic film from the Ira Levin ( author of Rosemary's Baby) novel.

I once loved reading MHC. Collected her books; read as many as I could. Then her writing changed. The past few years, there's been an incredible sense of frustration to the point where I don't bother even looking at her books anymore. Did she become over-confident, change editors? What a shame.

I fondly remember the days on Imus tv show when he would interview the Higgins women and discuss their books. There was a lot of laughing with those conversations. I miss them all. Mother Higgins and Imus have gone to greener pastures.

Elizabeth Green, I've wondered about him. IF he was still acting & such? It's a shame he never received the level of Johnny Depp?! I actually liked DeLuis better, he was funny too. Anyway, I haven't had a TV for years, and only catch a flick or two once/twice monthly on UA-cam.
For right now, I can't seem to get into this movie so may hafta leave it in a few....

Hands down the book is better, they don't even have Nell's great-aunt Gert, Gert was the one who introduced Nell the the psychic. The movie was alright the acting skills were not up to par.
Classic line "Where's my fax?" ....like within arms length on the wait for it...fax machine. And he calls himself a detective?! :- )
The final scene of running Neil with the detective is funny..he sounds like yelling Zed from Police academy lol...
