Thank you for your service. Thank you for your video. I had the same problem and I didn't understand why my bike ran so bad after I had spent so much money getting it upgraded to stage 2. I have the same exhausts and cam. After I saw your video I got the Fuel Moto inserts and it runs much better. Thank you for your time putting this video together.

My bike is identical to yours, I mean they are twins, except mine is a 107. I love that thing. I have the Woods WM8-222 cam in it and it gives me all the pull at the lower ranges and it is stupid fast at get up and get it. The get a ticket speeds don’t appeal to me much. It still runs well over a hundred and I can get locked up in every state in the union up there so I punched my ticket for getting there really fast. That Woods cam is a monster. I love it. Nice scoot, Brother. And Thank You For Answering The Call. We can take an element of honor with us through this life.

Great video Jeff! Well done and full of good information. Love your bike and glad you joined the Harley family. I have a 2021 CVO Road Glide with the 117 engine. I added a set of Tab Performance 4” Slip-ons with no need to tune. Mine came as a Stage One with the Heavy Breather intake, and the Screaming Eagle performance pipes on the 117 engine. After I added the Tab Performance pipes, which have the Zombie Baffles, It sounded much better and I felt that it had more top end torque. I might try their Zombie Rings with Torque Cones to get more low end torque. Like you said, it requires back pressure. Anyway, keep posting content - Subscribed! Ride Safe, and Ride Often.

Thanks for the awesome video Brother (US Army 11b 70-72). I will have a very similar set up. Parts in garage but need to recover a bit first. My set up. FM Air Breather with S&S Stealth Cover, FM SP Header, RCX 4.5" slip ons, Power Vision and Power Vision Target tune, S&S lifter guides, FM Adj PRds, Woods 22xe Cam and super expensive lifters. I have the slip ons installed and the air breather with a FM designed map and few auto tune runs. Totally different pull than stock but still sounds like a metric car, lol. I was most intrigued by your experience with the baffles. FM says I will "likely" need them but RCX wasn't convinced of that when I called them. I haven't called Bob Woods (great gut and he will get on the phone with you). I am currently going to try it out without the baffles knowing they can be put in later. There's a few differences in our set ups so who knows what I'll discover. Great video and very helpful. Does your wife have a sister? JK Thanks again. All the best and be safe.

Good video. I just put on my 21 SGS, the Rinehart Slimline duals and have the DBX 40's on the bike as well. Just now hearing that many have advised I don't even do a cam with my setup because I will lose what torque I have now. It runs okay now and sounds great, but not sure I want to give up my sound for a little extra power. I'd be okay if I just got a decent amount of extra power but I don't want to lose torque in the low RPM's.

I’m not an expert, but I did call Fuelmoto and this is what they told me so I’ll try and answer a couple questions asked.
    1. The M8 likes back pressure, but not from the head pipe. It wants the back pressure from the muffler. Now if you’ve had the chance to watch one of Kevin Baxter’s videos on exhaust, you’d know from him that any open exhaust, like the megaphone type exhausts are hard to tune. Their similar to an open exhaust that drag bikes use. They’re basically an open tube with little to no baffle. That what makes them very loud. Tuners hate these mufflers. The one he showed us, without naming it, looked the a CFR pipe. And if you watched the Moonshine Harleys video on Cams, you would have noticed the 2-1-2 exhaust outperformed the 2-1 exhaust, look it up. So put all that together and you might understand why those inserts COULD increase your output.
    2. The second question has to do with Fuelmoto’s tunes they send you on a PV tuner. With all the Dyno tuning they do, they have all these tunes saved on file. They’re doing all this work for us by people bringing their bike into them for their exceptional work. So if you call them and tell them what you have, there is a good chance they’ve done a bike like yours. Ya, maybe your head pipe might be different or the A/C is different, but I’m sure they’ve done something close and they’ll send you a file that will be close to your setup. The last thing they’d do is send you a generic tune and say “Good Enough.”
And remember, any bike with the new RDRS will have a completely different tune than any standard bike.
When I order my tuner next year, I’m going to trust what they send me so my mechanic will have very little to adjust.

Woods 22xe improves hp and torque +3500 rpm. The Woods 22x, works from zero up to about 3500. I don't think you got a bad stage two but you may have chosen the wrong cam for your riding style. Great first video.

      What’s the difference between the 22x and the 22xe on a 114 m8?

    • @RickIguana
      @RickIguana 2 роки тому +2

@@bigmanchris8693 just as I explained it. 22Xe is good if you lay on it and ride above 3500rpms often(not me). The performance improvement is higher in the power band. Also if you want high numbers at all costs go with 22xe. I just installed the 22x on my '20 Road King Special (114 M8) along with Vance and Hines power dual headers. It's hot off the line, love the instant torque. Went from 88hp to 107hp(at 5k rpms) and from 112 ftlbs to 125ftlbs (at 3500 rpms). Hope that helps.

Hi curious, you voided your warranty, don't care? I have a 2021 Ultra Limited just did stage 3 HD 122 pieced together. No kit head pipe or cam.
Did the 462 power cam kit simultaneously. Went all black like you did pushrods & tappet covers etc. SE Hi flow air cleaner and 4.5 dbx Rineharts. Back ordered Fuel Moto exhaust inserts (next week I hope). Noticeable need for more throttle at launch (especially riding two up), much louder. Though not newly broken in with 500 miles yet, I have rolled up 4000 rpm and can feel something different. As in it wants to keep climbing in rpm.
When covering the bike yesterday I noticed the right slip on is much cooler than the left. Any reason you chose to close the right exhaust? I have the SE Pro street tuner and I know the dealer who did the installation tried to fudge the tune with something close (no tune available). I have a dyno scheduled in 2 weeks.
Had I not been maintaining the warranty your setup is my exact first choice, Woods-xe cam and Power vision tune.
Defiantly following your exhaust insert set up and hoping for good results.
So as I said in my 1st sentence no warranty concern? Valve springs? Honestly I am so sick of worrying about it, Especially if using 90% HD parts.

Not worried about warranty, and on my bike the right side exhaust had the most flow, so I figured it needed the most restriction, and it work out for me, at least from what I can feel

I wouldn’t say all that, but in the since that the baffles restrict the airflow so you’re not over exhausting, which is what kills ur torque… the peak torque is similar to a 2:1, but 2:1 exhaust peaks faster than a 2:1:2

Under no circumstances, leave the Catalytic Converter in.
I tried the Vance and Hines Dresser Duals headpipe, and the Vance and Hines power port headpipe. Both looked good but, I didn't like the sound and performance.
I took my original headpipe and opened it up, l couldn't believe how the Catalytic Converter blocked completely the exhaust, before it reached the mufflers. I removed the Cat, and re-welded the opening I made in the collector. I am happy with the sound and performance.
