You mentioned a "car owned by Elvis" well, ALL of Elvis's cars are catalogued and therefore go for a lot more money. Mecum sold an Elvis Cadillac for over $150k a while back and that car without the Elvis attachment would have only been worth like $40k. and there are a lot more examples. it's not just the fans of a given celebrity that buy these cars. They are investment pieces

At first I thought they went out of business, but after further investigation I am pretty sure they just sold all of their cars. I bet sometime in the future the supply issues will be worked out, automakers will meet and then go over demand, and prices will fall again.

For a number of cars the ‘price’ is just ‘showing off the personal collection.’ He means to keep them. It’s tantalizing while it also brings attention and legitimacy to the cheaper ones he wants to sell off. Marketing is clever.
Ngl this makes me kinda sad, some of these cars, especially the Hummer, Z8, Diablo and Countach where just great cars, great finds and great videos. But they are his cars and I do not doubt there will be fun videos in the future

@@freedomfox8183 hyperinflation is 100% inflation from month to month. That means if you pay 20K for a car today one month from now that same car is 40K and the other month is going to be 80K and so on. That has to happen for more than 3 months in a row to be call hyperinflation. What we have now is not even close to hyperinflation even if inflation was 40% and not the 4% reported by the FED. You’re experiencing 4% and it feels terrible, imagine how 100% would feel like.
Probably a good time to sell as the price trend for used cars is expected to start dropping as the semiconductor shortage is improving and with rising gas prices people will probably be looking for more fuel-efficient cars over the next few years. Still, a shame to see so many classics leaving the fleet we have become accustomed to.
While I doubt many of his cars would be on the list of those impacted by the semiconductor shortage (most are old and different levels of collector status), there is still enough money sloshing around in collector cars to make now a good time to liquidate. But I am not at all sure all 40 will be sold, put prices on all of them and see which ones move quickly. Then when he is down to 10, or 12, or whatever number he will pull them from sale.

We sold the property and had a fire sale, he would be rolling over in his grave but he was cremated. I vowed to never get to that point I have six cars 1988 Porsche 930 Turbo, 1971 Corvette, 1971 DeTomaso Pantera, Datsun 510 w/ SR20DET engine, BMW X3 daily, and a 1997 GMC Truck to haul them around. All restored, registered, and running. Did I mention the three motorcycles? My wife said she would leave me if I bought another car, I will miss her. Lol

He KNOWS we are in the middle of a massive car shortage so he probably won't ever get better prices than now and he will likely can buy them all back in a couple of years for a lot less

You mentioned a "car owned by Elvis" well, ALL of Elvis's cars are catalogued and therefore go for a lot more money. Mecum sold an Elvis Cadillac for over $150k a while back and that car without the Elvis attachment would have only been worth like $40k. and there are a lot more examples. it's not just the fans of a given celebrity that buy these cars. They are investment pieces

Hoovie's car selling days kicked in on this video. When stating the mileage on some of the vehicles he used kilometers instead of miles to throw you off on the actual miles.
This is the saddest video ever for me, those are not my cars, I could never afford any of them, but I was happy that I knew someone like you existed and that at least you were living the dream in my place, I enjoy seeing you that hyped and smiling over that beautiful collection. I mean the cars might in fact be solid as you think, especially he plans on continuing this for awhile. Maybe the resale revenue is secondary to new content. And Hoover might actually enjoy the hard work… yes it’s fun watching all his disasters and his wins.

Explains the asking price. It’s been there when I’ve needed it. It’s just sad, only because I really do love the platform. The Dakota is, in my opinion, one of the best looking and most fun to drive mid size pickups made. An R/T would send me over the moon.

Now would be the time to sell your cars. There is a dealer near where I live with an empty lot. At first I thought they went out of business, but after further investigation I am pretty sure they just sold all of their cars. I bet sometime in the future the supply issues will be worked out, automakers will meet and then go over demand, and prices will fall again.

That means if you pay 20K for a car today one month from now that same car is 40K and the other month is going to be 80K and so on. That has to happen for more than 3 months in a row to be call hyperinflation. What we have now is not even close to hyperinflation even if inflation was 40% and not the 4% reported by the FED. You’re experiencing 4% and it feels terrible, imagine how 100% would feel like.
Probably a good time to sell as the price trend for used cars is expected to start dropping as the semiconductor shortage is improving and with rising gas prices people will probably be looking for more fuel-efficient cars over the next few years. Still, a shame to see so many classics leaving the fleet we have become accustomed to.
While I doubt many of his cars would be on the list of those impacted by the semiconductor shortage (most are old and different levels of collector status), there is still enough money sloshing around in collector cars to make now a good time to liquidate.
But I am not at all sure all 40 will be sold, put prices on all of them and see which ones move quickly. Then when he is down to 10, or 12, or whatever number he will pull them from sale.

I think I'm a vintage watch hoarder myself. I have no clue on the number of watches I have but 600 to 1000 wouldn't surprise me. The upside of watches is I don't need a hangar to store them in. One of these days I'm going to sell them all and banish myself from buying more.

When my dad passed he left me 42 cars they all just needed one thing or the other, not one you could get into and drive. We sold the property and had a fire sale, he would be rolling over in his grave but he was cremated. I vowed to never get to that point I have six cars 1988 Porsche 930 Turbo, 1971 Corvette, 1971 DeTomaso Pantera, Datsun 510 w/ SR20DET engine, BMW X3 daily, and a 1997 GMC Truck to haul them around. All restored, registered, and running. Did I mention the three motorcycles? My wife said she would leave me if I bought another car, I will miss her. Lol

$15000 maybe 10 years ago that thing is worth $5000 tops and that's being generous that has the air bags leak whenever it gets cold notorious air suspension escalades and navigators of those years. Typical used car dealer tactics mint condition just needs minor work let me go talk to my manager to get you the best price. I would run from all these cars unless you're very mechanically inclined like wizard. Wizard should give a non biased run down on all the cars and how much extra money its going to mantain these used project cars to keep them street worthy
