As a new quilter of 4 months, I love Sandy's tutorials as she makes it fun, and makes it more relaxing for a newbie. I watch hundreds of different quilting video's which I enjoy, but sometimes, it can make it a bit overpowering to see perfection all the time, which can make a learner feel a bit inferior of their work. Of all the many quilters I watch, I have only three favourites and Sandy, you are No. 1 💞
Thank you so much 🥰 yes, I know exactly what you mean, it can be intimidating starting out and everything looking so perfect and flawless, I felt that way when I first learned how to quilt too. Have a great weekend!
Thanks for the link. I signed up for Mrs. Quilty. You mentioned charity work. For me, it's my doctor. She gave up her office practice to make house calls to homebound and hospice patients. I make lap robes and wheelchair lap robes for her to give out to her patients. I include a matching tissue pack holder with each quilt.
What a wonderful tutorial!! I'm so happy I came upon it!! I love how you are simplifying the steps by sewing the blocks together and at the same time incorporate the stuffing and the backing, with a self binding!! You are a genius!! Thank you, thank you, thank you!! Time to get at my stash of fat quarters!! Sending love from Canada XO❤
I finally ordered the monthly Mrs Quilty box!! I can’t wait to see what comes and some new things to make. I have focused on napkins and table runners since I started last year. Also, I sew up my scrap pieces and make little quilts that I donate to animal shelters. Thanks for all your videos!!
My Quilt Guild supports several charity's with quilts. So many quilters are process rather than product quilters and charity quilts are the perfect solution to that quilt overflow.
I love the cross pattern has been on my to do some day list. Awesome colors. Decided to play this morning. I have huge drawer of 10 inch squares from mens dress shirts. Cut 2 inch strips then turned and cut 2 2 inch squares. Will get 5 crosses from each 10 inch square. Yea me. I am math challenged when I want to change a pattern to 2 1/2 and 5 inch squares or strips which is my scrap sizes to this worked perfectly. Thinking I can get a couple lap quilts for great grandsons.
Once again, you have just sent your personal information to a Communist country - and not supporting our wonderful local quilt shops! Shopping TEMU and other of these places is just wrong!!! And way too cheap for what yiu will get. Shop at Walmart for fabrics - if you choose well, you can save money and get great fabric.
@@sandybruce9092We don't all live in the USA, so don't have any Walmart's. In fact here in London UK, I don't see many places to buy quilting fabric from, so yes, I use Temu, and and it's not all inferior fabric. I have some beautiful, good fabric from Temu.
If you shopped TEMU you have inferior fabrics and not those shown! I hope you enjoy sending all your credit card info to Communist China because that’s exactly what yiu have done!!! This kind of shopping doesn’t help our American quilt shops one little bit. I do shop online as my local shops are quite a drive, but the ones I purchase from are American companies!
I got every one of these from Temu, but not the double amount. Just one pack. For 12 dollars. I'm so pleased I got something worthwhile for quilting. I have like 4 different sets of their fabrics. I'm ordering this one again
Hi. That one is definitely on my list! I've been looking for the most popular quilts and quilt blocks and this one was one of the most mentioned ones. Others to follow! Have a great day!
@@ireneterpstra1366 it's definitely not tedious. But I think making strip quilting quilts makes a much nicer more even quilt. This one seemed a tad off in places or was it just me?
You are an absolutely darling, teacher, and advertiser for Mrs. Quilts. Unfortunately, I cannot follow and subscribe because you don’t press your fabrics and you’re teaching new quilters some very bad habits. I love to encourage Quilter’s and we do need our younger generation to take over. I wish you would press because I think he would be very impressive to all the new cultures out there.
@@seweasybysandyshe might have meant that when you unfolded all the fat quarters, you did not show them being pressed. Just guessing. Then, in the next scene, they are all perfectly pressed but a new person may not know this.
Will never understand why comments have to contain any negative connotations whatsoever. There are many ways to accomplish a finished product and it should be fun or enjoyable in the process. Our ancestors made beautiful quilts and I don’t believe they handed down any “rules”…we have created all these nuances over time. I say do what works for you and be kind without any criticism of others. ❤
@@Peggybk thank you. Yes, I've gone back and checked and there was some pressing cut off during editing. But, then again, if the fabric is perfectly flat...
This is just an ad for a fabric box with a ridiculously click bait title. The quilt is not well-made, this is not a popular pattern, you don't press enough, the binding technique is really sub-par and it's such a hard sell throughout.

Fun little quilt. This binding method is great for smaller quilts. Thank you for this lesson, Sandy. Scrappy is happy! Marion in Oregon.
Thank you 😊 how's the weather in Oregon? 😁
Thanks for suggesting quilt as you go for bargello and trip quilts. Both are in my queue and IQAYG will make them so much faster.
It does speed up the whole thing considerably!
Thank you for your very good sewing lesson. And it is wonderful to watch a left handed demonstration. It does look more normal to me. ❤
My pleasure 😁

Hello from Russia. You pretty girl and good Master. Удачи Вам в Ваших следующих проектах!
So pretty! The finished piece looks great. I have been debating about trying the subscriptiom but now convinced it's worth it.
Give it a try, the fabrics are gorgeous 😍
I love how botanical these prints are, love this selection 😍

Good girl. No ripping ❤❤❤
😂😂😂
Why no ripping? Sometimes I use old clothes and I rip and get wonderfully straight rips on straight of grain. Just curious why no ripping.
@@janetdinatale9861 well, it can bend the fabric and it can ruin the edges for some fabrics

That is definitely smart, wish I had thought of that!! 🤣
Cute. Cute. Cute!!
thank you 😀
Ripping encourages raveling. Great for making fringe, but not a good choice for 1/4” seams.
That pattern is so cute❤
I really like those fabrics. I got them from Temu last summer. I think I've seen them on Amazon too. They were really nice to work with.

Sandy dear. Silly question. What are the dimensions of a ‘fat quarter?’
Hi. It's usually 18 by 22 inches. Have a great day!
Thank you Sandy ❤
You could take a picture before you start sewing. Then you have a record of how you decided to put it together.
I know! I try to do it but sometimes (most times) I forget...
