Maybe someone can help? I have a stock 2006 Tacoma TRD Prerunner 2WD. The shocks are bad and I will be replacing them. Do I need to replace the strut springs or can I use the old ones? Also, What shocks do you recommend for the truck" I am thinking about getting the Bilstein 4600's. If I want to raise the front level Should I use the 5100's? I don't really want a lift, just leveled out.

I installed bigger tires on my 2017 Tacoma TRD Sport. Stock tire size is 265/65/R17, and I put on 275/70/R17 which lifted my truck just over an inch....nice!! Now, after all the research I did stated that was the biggest tire I could fit on my stock truck without any modifications, any modifications at all. Well, the front tires rub a bit when cranked hard over in reverse only...this to me is not acceptable. So, I'm putting in a lift kit, 2" in the front and 1.5" in the rear. The reputable shop thats doing the work states the OME products are better quality than the TRD Pro 2" lift kit and he guarantees my truck will handle and drive smoother then with the stock suspension. I will update this post once the work is done next week and I take my truck for a test ride. Love your Tacoma videos Rob!

Dude giving advice on a lift without doing an AAL at least. Axle wrap like a mfer. Spend the 200 on an icon add-a-leaf at least, blocks in the back will cause your rear axle to rotate under load, may not be right away, but eventually. And change your UCAs to something that allows proper clearance and chamber/toe and alignment adjustment options.

Matter of opinion…hah…axle wrap is a matter of physics for axle below spring rear setups. And by moving the axle further away from your spring with a block spacer, it increases the effect that the torque puts on the axle, causing more axle wrap. Can tell you don’t do any kind of wheeling with those uca’s at the angle their at, you would be eating spring at full droop.
