For real, my mom travels like Kim and I’m like penn. I get so stressed when she wakes me up 5 hours before an 8 am flight. Like why go to bed if it’s less than an hour of sleep
I'm definitely Kim. She missed pulling out your boarding pass 20 times while waiting to reassure yourself you have it, that you know where it is, and to remind yourself again of what seat number and row you're in. 😁
It's all good if Kim and Penn travel by themselves. Once I had to travel with a friend. I was ready to go 4 hours before the flight, she woke up 2 hours later and insisted on having breakfast in the cafe nearby cause she won't overpay at the airport. In the end she got to the plane just fine and I was so stressed that we won't make it that I left my luggage on the train on the way to the airport and had even more stressful next few days while trying to get it back. So if you're a Kim and you get to travel with Penn I would advise you to leave them behind and just go get your sweet time at the airport. You won't be stressed and they probably will also get by just fine.
I have a card that I got when my mom and I went to Paris because I have invisible disabilities that make crowds really hard for me so I get priority boarding
The only thing you left out Kim was once you got to the gate you'd say: "no, I'd better not get a coffee because then I'll have to go to the bathroom before we board and I might miss my boarding if I'm in the bathroom!!"
I am something in between. I am like: ohhhhh it's time to get up because I need to catch a plane... To bad I've only slept for 2 hours cause I've been watching videos until 4 o'clock in the morning... I am sooooo sleepy. I have headache. I hate mornings... But I do check whether or not I have everything on me and I check in in advance.
I'm totally Penn. I've had my name called on the loudspeakers more than once. 😂 I agree that I don't want to be sitting on the plane or at the gate for longer than necessary. And I never plan on having an overhead compartment space. I just check my bag and bring my backpack on board.
Having lived a life like Penn, the odds are actually in our favor. Life is a series of "if...then" statements, not "have to's." And imagine all the extra time you have to accomplish great things by NOT waiting in airports, or getting to school early, or making your bed every day.
Yes, we Penn-types (my personalized version is the ENFP Myers Briggs type:) somehow we have a way of “squeezing by” and we usually have a blast and a ton of fun while doing it!!🤗🤗
Or do the Penns of the world just marry the Kims of the world before their life falls apart too bad. 😂 I can never tell. I say this as a Kim married to a Penn so maybe I’m biased.
Pre 9-11, I once jumped off the DC Metro, illegally hopped the exit turnstyle (statues of limitations) and then ran, without pause, all the way from there to the airport, through the airport to my gate, and then, without breaking stride, onto the plane. My only luggage was my backback so I really was going about full speed the entire time. I guess I got slower as I tired out, but still, it was more-than-a-jog the entire run. As I ran up to the gate, the entire area was empty, and the ticket person just yelled "are you Pete?" and I yelled "yes!" and she let me run through. I also ran a marathon around the same time, but this airport ran is definitely my proudest running accomplishment.
Penn is stressing me out. But glad he doesn't seem stressed AT ALL! 😂 In fact, he seems even less stressed than Kim who is having a "calm experience." 😅✈️
That was the whole point of this video...getting back at the Kim-type people by making a fake video of him probably-maybe-not-maybe getting on a plane.
I love how you set up the "Who buys a suitcase at the airport?", I knew what was coming! I'm definitely a Kim, and my husband a Penn. Ugh. Hard to balance!
I bought a Duffel bag once up at O'Hare! I'd been to an Airliners Collectible Show up in Rosemont and I had bought a bunch of Scale Model Aircraft kits and needed a way to transport them back home 🏡 after the show!
To confirm, Kim's suitcase checklist is just the final checklist after completing the three day vacation-packing routine, right? I mean, two days out, you check the weather, wash all the dirty clothes you have that might possibly work for it. Then you set aside all those items into the designated pre-packing area. The next morning, the day before the flight, you check the weather and lay out all the final pre-pack ensembles. After work, you again check the weather, adjust outfits now that you've had time to think about yourself wearing them, and practice pack everything into the suitcase so you have plenty of time to buy more packing cubes to keep everything perfectly organized. Then, the morning of the flight, you go through one last time to make sure you didn't forget anything and your husband didn't, for some inexplicable reason, take anything out of YOUR suitcase for himself (I don't know why this happens, but it does. That's probably what happened to your razor, Kim). Everyone does this or they have nightmares for two nights before vacation that they've forgotten something, right?
I convinced my wife to have one more beer at the airport bar cause "this airline is always behind schedule we don't have to rush" turns out they were on schedule THAT DAY. They were waiting for us to shut the door. This was our first trip since having kids, and almost the last trip I ever went on with a wife 😂
I’ve been the last one to board before they shut the door more than once. Still got where I was going with everyone else who wasted hours sitting at the airport! Once, years ago, checked in for a flight with a friend and as we were walking away from the baggage check-in counter the person at the counter picks up the phone and says, “we got a couple runners” 😂. Felt like OJ in an Avis commercial that day. Still made it though!
As a self confessed perfectionist, watching Penn sleep in and not prepare triggers my anxiety. I'm definitely more like Kim, in terms of "Airport Spirit Animal."
Luggage breaks. Sometimes you need a bigger piece of luggage so you can ditch a backpack. Sometimes you just fall in love with a cute suitcase. I've bought airport luggage more often than I care to admit.
@@piiinkDeluxe On my last trip I had a collapsible bag in my luggage on my outbound flight because I planned to go shopping in the city I was visiting. It was full on my return trip.
I'm like that cause i have ADHD, gotta tell you, we LIVE stressed, some of us just have massive time blindness and it makes us be in a hurry all the time. Like, even if i'm goofing around and looking 'carefree', in the inside i'm constantly having an anxiety attack cause "What if i'm late?" "What if the plane doesn't arrive on time?" "What if the flight gets cancelled?" So to calm myself down i just goof around, but those thoughts never go away until i'm late and everyone's sending mad glares at me for being late. Now that i think about it, it might be the time to start looking for a treatment for my ADHD
No lie - after flying in and out of the RDU twice a week for 5 years - Penn has it on lock down. It's possible to walk into the airport and directly on the plane at that airport. Great place. Well done guys!
Not sure which was funnier "Razor, check. Not forgetting it this time. Last time got a little hairy" or Penn hanging his jeans out of the backseat car window to dry them 🤣
Several years ago we went to Disney, and I realized the night before that you can't bring a razor in an unchecked bag. I didn't plan to check a bag. So my husband told me to just not shave for that week. I went with it, and didn't. Was pretty hairy when we got back home!
@@laurajones6486 I did find razors in the Disney hotel gift shop, just regular ones. Decent priced, too! But at that point I decided to just go with it, since my husband doesn't care if I shave or not.
😂 This is my best friend and I traveling together! The first time she called frantically from the airport three hours before our flight to make sure she was at the right spot since she didn't see me. I was out shopping for clothes and gear for our adventure trip. Still had to go home and pack, arrange a ride to the airport, etc. Now she knows I'll magically appear on the plane just before the door closes and the plane taxis from the gate.
I show up super early and then get anxious I did something wrong when there’s no one there. I find it comforting as people start piling in before the boarding time starts
Penn has it down! That's so awesome. As a business traveler taking lots of flights I have never missed a flight or had my name called on the loud speaker, but I also see no reason to be in the airport any longer than necessary. Love it!
Thank goodness for your comment, Larry! All other comments I read identified with Kim and shamed Penn, so I was secretly wondering what’s wrong with me (routinely arriving 30 mins before boarding time at the airport) - being just on time means you have a life and are not afraid to live it! 🎉🎉🎉
Yes but what the video does not show is that when this guy finally got to the gate the door was closing and he missed the flight. I know because this has happened to me.
Same, thank you sir. I mean, I guess I would be Kim if I had no responsibilities in life and nothing better to do with my time? Last weekend I slept in for a 6am ski trip flight. Woke up at 4:50 (alarm set for 4), wasn’t packed. Called Uber immediately, threw gear together in ten minutes, Uber to airport in 10 minutes (this is Columbus mind you; wouldn’t work in Manhattan), checked skis, flew through TSA line, and still got to my gate before boarding. Frankly, I’m a little annoyed that I could have slept until 5 and still made it.
I am literally, literally Kim. All of those words have come out of my mouth. In a cruel twist of fate my wife is an absolute Penn. This was just hilarious.
Same her. I was 3 hours early, but then they delayed the flight by 6 more hours... And I could only apply for a free lounge after 4 hours of delay had passed. Needless to say, I have bough lounge passes for all of my party of 5 people...
I was assuming this would end with Kim sitting on the plane giving Penn the stink eye as he boards 5 minutes after the attendant announced "we're just waiting for the final passenger" (PS I'm totally a Kim airport person)
yeah i thought they would bump into each other literally- at the part where Kim is approaching the boarding gate, Penn runs up and knocks into her, says "im so sorry!" helps her up, and still boards first.
My brother was the one on opposite side of the airport when his name would be called on the intercom for final boarding. He became a gold member for that reason. 😂
I'm team Kim on this one. One thing to add is how I've organized everything in my bag so everything goes into the security bin quickly with no fumbling around and making sure my pockets are empty 😂😭
Yep I make sure everything in my pocket is secure in a bag (easy to get out after) so I am not emptying out pockets and worried forget something in the bin
Team Penn!! I had a friend book a hotel room for us a block from the airport saying it would be easier because they had parking & shuttle included. I realized later that they were a “Kim” and knew I was “penn” so this was how we got to the airport early 😅
Lol you guys. There is a third person: They plan their bag/s a day or two before. They then check in the night before their flight. Sleep with zero worries and show up early so they don't miss their flight. While waiting they are taking a nap or reading a book or listening to music. They don't do anything last minute nor do they even stress or do weird stretching. Often this third person is a magical one two carry only bag person.
Hahaha!!! Hilarious! Kim is my “Travel Spirit” as once the travel day starts, I am all business. I even wear a specific outfit when I travel…I call it my German Old Man Tourist Outfit. 😂
Kim is soo me (traveling by car or plane or anything). Weather is checked for the visit outfits decided for each day and packed a week before and outfits made up for each day prior leading to travel day (which ends in travel outfit). The list is started about a month prior adding to it when I remember new stuff. Including updating my travel toiletries kit and electronic stuff (I have an air and car kit lol). I'm hopeless lol The only reason this didn't give me hives was decades of experience with my husband. He was Penn to the nth degree. Drove me crazy. I found myself saying, "he's going to do --now." My husband actually bought clothes after reaching destination and several items because he got up 20 minutes prior to leaving - he at least had taken the hour drive to the airport into consideration. SMH 🤣 The accuracy of the skits are so spot on. I love them!
I am totally Kim. But I also do laundry a week ahead and then fold/set aside everything I will pack. The list is triple checked two days before. I am always ridiculously ready and I feel completely better for it. Prefer to be calm and relaxed. Penn drove me nuts. Talk about anxiety!!
I am so much a Kim. If I am not in the airport at least 2 or more hours early, my anxiety levels go off the charts. Even worse, I check the gate location and flight times at least every 20 minutes.
We should have an anonymous group for those of us who are neurotic about our airport experience! I literally always make sure that I have every notification turned on just in case and I check the airline app all the time for any changes.
The ANXIETY I felt just watching Penn. I am 100% you, Kim. My mom was a travel agent and she always burned into us to get to the airport two hours ahead always and to this day I get there 2 hours at a minimum, usually earlier. As for packing...well, I'm going on a vacation in (counts on fingers...) a little less than 4 months and I already have a packing list started and have purchased many things for the trip already (collapsible water bottles! collapsible cups for taking meds/brushing teeth! I'm planning what books and movies I want to bring!). My husband isn't like Penn thankfully but he's a last minute packer - as an example when we last traveled overseas he brought not one but TWO pairs of jeans that didn't fit him. And refused to let me throw them away so we'd have more room in our luggage. The audacity, lol.
I find myself being a odd combo of them both and it switches up. I have several characteristics of adult adhd, and some spectrums of autism though I'm diagnosed with social and regular anxiety, bpd, pmdd, and depression (including my wack seasonal depression) I have planners and set timers and can be very Kim, spin into hyper focus like Penn with a side of getting distracted while multitasking like Kim.
Totally us too! I have family brag stories of how close we've cut it getting to the gate, including my mom 8 months pregnant racing through the airport in a wheelchair pushed by my grandma who is calling, "Hold the gate!!!" Then I marry into a family who says we're leaving in 15 minutes and leaves in 5, and my father-in-law proudly announces we've made it to the airport two hours early, as if it's a gift. Meanwhile, I'm seething inside that I have to sit in an airport for an extra hour that I could have spent doing ANYTHING else. I have dried clothes out the window of a car multiple times. Kim gives me anxiety.
I am the one who arrives way to early (buffer time is best time!), but I always forget something (toothbrush, toothpaste, charger for my phone, ...) and it hits me everytime when it is to late (usually at the plane in the air) 😂😂😂
I arrived three hours before my flight, and security took an hour and a half. So many folks missed their flight that day. Meanwhile I had time to get coffee and browse the bookstore. Glad I got there early!!
Same here. Our flight from Heathrow to Dublin the bag check was 90 minutes. Still had to go through security after that. We had a little time to eat but not much
I'm usually a more frantic version of Penn... literally running to my gate and having to skip the lines. My mother is a Kim, and it was so hilarious when she once offered to give me a lift. Id run out of time and hadnt packed when she'd arrived (and i had to leave when she'd arrived). She, someone who packs 3wks prior to a holiday, freaked out when she realised + was trying to help me "let's just roll up the underwear and put it in this top pocket with the nice zipper here"... which i had to put a stop to immediately "i now have 30seconds to pack! This is how it's done..." then i literally grabbed a whole pile of stuff id put on my bed and just stuffed as much as i could get into the suitcase, and then screamed "purse! Phone! House keys!".... and we were out the door in 30seconds - haha! Then there was a police road block on the way, and she was so stressed out by my 30 second packing strategy that she screamed "I knew it! This ALWAYS happens with you!!" (like i was responsible foe the police road block... which was for a suspected seige in one of the houses!). I tried to get her keep driving and while i yelled out the window that it was an emergency/i was about to miss the plane. But then remembered another short cut (AND without traffic lights).... and guess who made the flight (without a gate call!)?!
One of my adhd traits is overcompensating for poor time management. I am always early everywhere. It helps me not to stress out. My husband is late for everything. This is a constant battle in our house! When we were in pre-marital counseling our pastor said "For you, arrival time is a deadline, for him its a guideline. " Truth.😆🥴
I don't have ADHD but this sounds totally like me! I'm hyper controlling and try to be overly organised but somehow it mostly still ends up in hectic and chaos. If I were any less controlling and "organised", I wouldn't get anything done EVER. I hate it. I would love to be more relaxed and not having to spend so much time waiting everywhere.
My husband and I are both wired like Penn. It is an exciting life. We have literally said, "What would we do if we got there early? That would waste so much time..." LOL
🤣🤣🤣 I am definitely the Penn type in this! I have been called out on the loudspeaker before (that is rather embarrassing though), I have missed a flight (but they booked me on another one for free) and I've definitely done laundry a few hours before a flight! 😅 Thanks for the air dry idea, that's just genius! 😂 My friends are all the Kim type, and it works surprisingly well together. 😊 This is probably my favorite video of yours. I laughed so hard because it's so true! 😅 Also let me add that I learned throughout the years, nowadays I'm early enough to not get called out for boarding. 🙂
I always thought those people were just having a bad day or something major came up to make them that late - had zero idea there was a 'type' which is just totally ok with cutting it that close and expects to be accommodated. Your existence stresses me out! :) I'm glad you're a reformed maniac now.
@@burnyizland hahaha, i definitely have improved. But let me make it clear, that i don't expect to be accommodated. If I miss a flight because I'm late, it's my fault and I accept that. I will probably hate myself in that moment but I won't be mad at anyone else but myself. That free rebooking I received was not because I demanded it (I never did), the person who did it was just really nice. I sometimes just have a hard time organizing myself and procrastinate.
I’m Penn 1000%, except for sharing Kim’s joy of finding the perfect travel pants. I sleep as late as I can. I have booked airfare and hotels on the day of the trip, sometimes on the way to the airport. I have booked rental cars while on the plane. I have dried my hair and my laundry in the car with the windows down on the way. One time I packed for a foreign trip in about 10 minutes, to include a load of wet laundry so I could make my flight on time - I dried my clothes when I got to my destination. There’s always time to get gas or food haha. I do sometimes pack an extra duffle bag so I don’t need to buy luggage at the airport though. Never missed a flight.😂
I was Penn, once, by accident. Lesson learned: don’t fly during a time change day. My local airport turned me into Kim by experience. One of the busiest airports, sometimes TSA takes 3 hours!
Knocked it out of the park again, guys! I honestly don't know how you don't drive each other bonkers you're so different in ways that would make my heart race and BP go off the charts. Yeah, in case it's not obvious, I'm TOTALLY Kim! 🤣🤣
As someone who exclusively flies standby, I love people like Penn who I get to take seats from since they don't get there in time >:) Thank you for missing you flight! I appreciate it!
I used to think everyone got to the airport 3 hours before their flight, in Canada it’s the recommended arrival time, then I started occasionally flying out of US airports. It surprised me how late y’all arrived at the airport, tho I do enjoy less wait time, Penn’s method would totally stress me out.
I get there as soon as I possibly can. I have two small kids and getting there early and gives me time to get through checking in all their extra crap and getting them settled before we get on the plane.
Yeah in USA 3 hours is the totally recommended. I know it usually takes me an hour to get through security. However back in the day you used to have to check in with people to get your tickets now you self check in which is way faster so that is one line down. I guess 90-120 min early is probably the best now.
Yeah, my goal is to arrive 30min before boarding starts. It safely get you there for any flights that have a 1hr cutoff for checked bags (Seattle) and leaves an hour for security if needed (Atlanta). I only show up "extra early" if customs is involved.
I had that reaction too, because I sometimes get there 4 hours early just to make sure. In my defence, Toronto's airport can get really busy and we need to go through US customs and immigration before we leave if it is a US destination.
After not flying for several years my husband and I were like Kim when we traveled in October. Hours early to the airport, sat at our gate, didn't want to wait in line for coffee in case something changed lol
I love living my life as a Penn. Usually I'll be there five minutes before they would call my name and that's the earliest I'll ever be. Way more relaxing.
I had no idea there were people like Penn when it came to flights!!! Everyone I know says to arrive at the airport at least two hours before flight departure! 😂
Domestic and international flights have different rules. The international flights require more time both for check-in and boarding. Now that there is the online check-in, you can buy some time (since it's largely free, the term "buy" is just an expression).
He's right about one thing: When bording begins, you've got plenty of time to go to the bathroom, and waltz comfortably back to the gate. It'll be at least half an hour before the last passengers board!
One of the big enigmas for a "I need to get to the airport very early" person is early morning flights. You want to be there well in advance, but sometimes the security area doesn't open for another hour or two!
I once saw the whole terminal closed. Bandar Abbas Airport in Iran has only one international flight to Dubai. And the terminal opens just before that flight. There's almost nothing there anyway, so you just wait at the domestic terminal, having a sandwich etc.
We took a 5:30 AM flight out of JAX last year, and I thought, "Eh, we won't need to be there before 4:30. There won't be anybody going through security that early." WRONG! Several high school basketball teams were in line ahead of us. We got through the line and had just enough time to hit the restrooms before boarding.
Oh my gosh. I won't lie, I tend to be more of the chaotic morning-of person, but like 6-5 hours before doing laundry, then packing, then ensuring I have 2.5 hours at the airport. The adrenaline of "oh sht I have to get all my things ready and packed" at 3 AM is a great way to start the day. Then I lower my blood pressure by staring at the gate for 2 hours.
@@MsBluebot yeah just got to get there early since how long security takes varies but i agree 30 min before boarding to get to gate is sufficiant but we usually get to the airport itself 2 hours early. usually security is fast at our airport though but you never know.
I am Penn!!💁🏼♀️ This doesn’t make any sense to the Kim’s of the world, but I actually love the rush of almost missing your flight. That’s what makes me feel alive before a flight.😂 It’s never backfired so until I learn my lesson I’m going to continue to enjoy the fun adrenaline rush before sitting on the plane for hours.
Having Clear and precheck really allows you to push it. I did get called on the loudspeaker for a recent early morning flight, and while I was the last passenger, we still sat a while before leaving the gate. It did feel pretty cool though arriving, parking, going through security and walking onto the plane in less than 10min 😁
Totally team Kim on this. Last summer I didn’t pack until 2 days before and I was completely stressed. I’m surprised she didn’t have more lists. I always have a bunch.😂
Lol laughed when she was hanging out in the airport rocking chair. I love getting early and exploring the airport! They have some interesting rest areas for sure hehe
Yep, we’re a whole family of Kims. It’s worked in our favor, especially when weird things happen like all the long term parking lots are full or traffic is unexpectedly terrible.
was totally like Kim, then married a Penn and learned how to compromise (Actually - we very rarely take flights together anymore and he has missed too many flights to count.) Also, "You may be a redneck if, your dryer is your car going 60 mph"
I'm not *quite* as prepared as Kim, but Penn definitely stressed me out watching this video. 😬 We have a great airport here in OKC and I still try to arrive 2 hours early...only to spend 5 full minutes in the security line, lol! I couldn't even finish making my Starbucks mobile order before we were already thru. 😆
I'm somewhere in between I think? I was wiggin out when Penn was still asleep. And we always make sure everything is packed 3 days before except carry-on, and we organize that for easy security check. It also depends on the airport...where we love, if you aren't there 2 hours before the flight to get through security, you might not get through before the flight. And because traffic is an absolute beast where we live, you gotta give yourself at least 1.5 hours drive time to get there (even though it's about 25 minutes without traffic, but HAH! Yeah right.) But the flight home from our usual travels? Pfft. You can arrive about 35 minutes before flight, get through security, and still have time to buy a coffee and do last minute potty breaks.
Penn single-handedly raised my blood pressure for today 😅 oh goodness, I’m totally Kim
Sorry about that 😬
Same here!
I’m definitely Kim but instead of packing the day if I’m packed a week in advanced
I'm like Kim u can NEVER be to early but I pack at the last minute and throw it under the seat of the plane. 😆 🤣 😂 😹 😆
Me too! I was so anxious!
Neither of them were stressed. That's the perfect method for them. I love it!
I’m sure the stress sets in when you have a travel buddy on the opposite end of the spectrum
And what flight number you have and which gate you're suppose to go to.
And rechecking your passport is in date and the e- visa doesnt need to physically attached to it.
Nailed it 😂
Lol so true
Yes, or your passport I do that too. I’m glad boarding passes can now go on your phone. One less thing to worry about.
Funny though, how your friend did just fine and you ended up being the one in a pickle. Doesn’t pay to worry!
this :(
I feel your pain...
My boyfriend stopped to get a car oil change when taking me to the airport one time...
I have a card that I got when my mom and I went to Paris because I have invisible disabilities that make crowds really hard for me so I get priority boarding
This is the secret to happy traveling tbh.
The only thing you left out Kim was once you got to the gate you'd say: "no, I'd better not get a coffee because then I'll have to go to the bathroom before we board and I might miss my boarding if I'm in the bathroom!!"
That is always my biggest worry, because the bathroom on a plane is a very very scary place
Yep!!
Totally this! Lmao
So true! You mean not everyone worries about this? Not to mention I'd get something without caffeine as I'm already scared of flying!
I'm more like the husband. I had to make a decision coffee in Seattle or, my flight. I thought I'd better opt for the flight. Tough decision.
Watching Penn totally set off all my travel anxiety triggers 😂
I am something in between. I am like: ohhhhh it's time to get up because I need to catch a plane... To bad I've only slept for 2 hours cause I've been watching videos until 4 o'clock in the morning... I am sooooo sleepy. I have headache. I hate mornings... But I do check whether or not I have everything on me and I check in in advance.
I once made it from the parking lot to on the plane in less than 10 minutes. It was a LAX record that still stands today
Yeah, my blood pressure was rising just watching him. LOL.
It set off my anxiety triggers, too. I'm not as early as she was, but I'd prefer to be there two hours early. His method is incredibly stressful.
I'm totally Penn. I've had my name called on the loudspeakers more than once. 😂 I agree that I don't want to be sitting on the plane or at the gate for longer than necessary. And I never plan on having an overhead compartment space. I just check my bag and bring my backpack on board.
The weird thing is, it somehow always works out for the Penns, like AGAINST ALL ODDS, and the kicker is, they are SO relaxed! I could never….
@@bethanyli8565 I think it's this one because I regularly wonder how my husband would have survived if he didn't meet me.
Except it is not against all odds, he was actually for the most part more reasonable then Kim
When Penn started doing laundry 2 hours before the flight my anxiety spiked lol
🤣 I am watching this in bed when I have a flight to catch in 4 hours. Thank you for the motivation to get moving!
I'm usually a get to the airport early guy, but one time I WENT TO BED with 5 hours to go until my flight 😬
Penn is stressing me out. But glad he doesn't seem stressed AT ALL! 😂 In fact, he seems even less stressed than Kim who is having a "calm experience." 😅✈️
that's what I thought! The one really winning here is Penn (as long as he still manages to catch the flight)! ☺️
That was the whole point of this video...getting back at the Kim-type people by making a fake video of him probably-maybe-not-maybe getting on a plane.
@@richardmahn7589 i thought both types were equally made fun of
She is not stressed she is enjoying the certainty of not having to be stressed by critical details.
ADHD FTW
At first I thought I was like Kim but then I remembered that I pack my suitcase in a rush just to be 4 hours early at the airport. Perfect balance
my stomach dropped when Penn stated he had time to do laundry. Kim has the right idea imho!
Yeah, I didn't think they went far enough. And 3 hours early is recommended for international flights!
I can't believe there was no weather checking!
I feel so seen reading this!! I’ve found my people!!
No, when you leave your house at 4.00 am, there is no “in the morning”
@@35rrfd92 yep :)
Still made it though!
do you know my uncle? He drives to the airport at the last possible minute
😂
I can't believe Penn actually dried his clothes out of the car window irl.
🤣
😂😂😂
I can totally believe it! 🤣😂
And here I thought i was looking silly when i cool frys out the window while driving.
I’ve been there, but I am totally Penn.
I’ve been there, but I am totally Penn.
I love how Penn's just got more and more chaotic
As a self confessed perfectionist, watching Penn sleep in and not prepare triggers my anxiety. I'm definitely more like Kim, in terms of "Airport Spirit Animal."
you get me!
Came to the comments to say this!
I've never flown before but i rather be early than late and last minute.
Same I was cringing so hard at Penn. definitely a Kim
Gives me anxiety too, lol. Especially when that type of person ends up relying on you
Lol! I almost yelled at the screen when Penn said he could do his laundry in two hours.
The "oh look, suitcases!" part just got me! 🐿️🐿️🐿️
Luggage breaks. Sometimes you need a bigger piece of luggage so you can ditch a backpack. Sometimes you just fall in love with a cute suitcase. I've bought airport luggage more often than I care to admit.

Oh gosh Penn is giving me so much anxiety just watching his part lol. I'm Kim. I just like to chill before a flight 😂
sorry to make you stress 😆
I was more stressed out about Kims part because she came up with all the what ifs. 😅
Same here.
Same! 😅
OMG, I'm team Kim on this! Penn - I just have to believe his whole role is completely exaggerated for comedy....because....I just...no....
“Chili dog doin’ it’s work”. 😂
“When they call my name-that means I’m on time!”😀
If only we could all live so carefree!
The last thing Penn said was my philosophy to a tee: Now THAT’s on time..when they call your name, you get right on the plane and take off!
Not sure which was funnier
"Razor, check. Not forgetting it this time. Last time got a little hairy" or
Penn hanging his jeans out of the backseat car window to dry them
🤣
thanks for watching!
Several years ago we went to Disney, and I realized the night before that you can't bring a razor in an unchecked bag. I didn't plan to check a bag. So my husband told me to just not shave for that week. I went with it, and didn't. Was pretty hairy when we got back home!
@@sarahdingeldein6129 you know they probably sell razors at Disney. It probably would be in the shape of Mickey.

Lol 😂
It’s a miracle she still wants to go traveling with you 😱
My pulse went up every time Penn was on the screen!! I’m so Kim - easily at the gate an hour before boarding time
Same 🙋🏾♀️ And since I got TSA Pre-check it’s even easier. Spend 1.5 hrs twiddling my thumbs
Lol I know I was nervous when he was still at the gas station. Is he going to make it?
I show up super early and then get anxious I did something wrong when there’s no one there. I find it comforting as people start piling in before the boarding time starts
Penn has it down! That's so awesome. As a business traveler taking lots of flights I have never missed a flight or had my name called on the loud speaker, but I also see no reason to be in the airport any longer than necessary. Love it!
It really is the pinnacle of efficiency and perfection. Imagine how much life you waste if you operated like Kim your entire life.
Thank goodness for your comment, Larry! All other comments I read identified with Kim and shamed Penn, so I was secretly wondering what’s wrong with me (routinely arriving 30 mins before boarding time at the airport) - being just on time means you have a life and are not afraid to live it! 🎉🎉🎉
Yessssss thank you!! 🙌🙌
Watching Penn made me want to scream. I was three hours early for my last flight. It was worth it to not be stressed.
Same her. I was 3 hours early, but then they delayed the flight by 6 more hours... And I could only apply for a free lounge after 4 hours of delay had passed. Needless to say, I have bough lounge passes for all of my party of 5 people...
3 hours? Shoot I arrive when they're boarding 😂
I hate hanging around at the airport. 1 hr 1/2 for me
“ I am concerned for everyone else though.”
I’m dead.🤣😂😆
I was assuming this would end with Kim sitting on the plane giving Penn the stink eye as he boards 5 minutes after the attendant announced "we're just waiting for the final passenger"
(PS I'm totally a Kim airport person)
yeah i thought they would bump into each other literally- at the part where Kim is approaching the boarding gate, Penn runs up and knocks into her, says "im so sorry!" helps her up, and still boards first.
Yeah, where was that stink eye?!? 😂
I'm like Kim and Penn duking it out when I'm getting ready for a flight. It's ugly. 🤣😅
My brother was the one on opposite side of the airport when his name would be called on the intercom for final boarding.
He became a gold member for that reason.
😂
Drying your pants by hanging them out the car window is pure genius! Penn is a god.😊
Clever friend 😅
Traveled overseas with someone once who was a total Kim. I kept thinking, “one of us is going home in a body bag.”
Even though my brain knows that this is a sketch, watching Penn raised my stress level.
Same
Lol you guys.
socks and sandals? 😁
Same..
I'm hopeless lol
The only reason this didn't give me hives was decades of experience with my husband. He was Penn to the nth degree. Drove me crazy. I found myself saying, "he's going to do --now."
My husband actually bought clothes after reaching destination and several items because he got up 20 minutes prior to leaving - he at least had taken the hour drive to the airport into consideration. SMH 🤣
The accuracy of the skits are so spot on.
Penn is stressing me out so much omg I hope he managed to get to the gate in 10 seconds lmao
I am so much a Kim. If I am not in the airport at least 2 or more hours early, my anxiety levels go off the charts. Even worse, I check the gate location and flight times at least every 20 minutes.
Me too 🙋
Me too!
Saaaame.
We should have an anonymous group for those of us who are neurotic about our airport experience! I literally always make sure that I have every notification turned on just in case and I check the airline app all the time for any changes.
@@robinm.2246 😊
There has never been a truer representation of my husband and myself. I am Penn.
I am also Penn. And my friends are all Kim. 😇
Same girl, same 🤣
I find myself being a odd combo of them both and it switches up. I have several characteristics of adult adhd, and some spectrums of autism though I'm diagnosed with social and regular anxiety, bpd, pmdd, and depression (including my wack seasonal depression)
I have planners and set timers and can be very Kim, spin into hyper focus like Penn with a side of getting distracted while multitasking like Kim.
I'm just glad I am not the only guy who is like Kim.
We had a little time to eat but not much
This is extra funny knowing they *spoiler* won The Amazing Race 😂- also, Team Kim!
What…you mean Penn’s behavior is not how everyone gets to the airport!?! I need a Kim in my life.😂
No, No you don't. If you meet a Kim, Run!!! Their stress will mess with your zen.
No, you don't. They stress everyone out
Why does it feel so relaxing watching Kim? I feel exactly the opposite watching Penn) Oh boy, do I love to arrive early to the airport!
It would be nice to feel as relaxed as Penn when I'm late...
My friends are all the Kim type, and it works surprisingly well together. 😊
This is probably my favorite video of yours. I laughed so hard because it's so true! 😅
Also let me add that I learned throughout the years, nowadays I'm early enough to not get called out for boarding.

I've never been filled with such anxiety as watching Penn's segments lol I'm definitely on team Kim with this one... Drives everyone in my family mad
i love this video so much 😂 its like a 2013-2015 vibe video with filming and all YAY!
I was Penn, once, by accident. Lesson learned: don’t fly during a time change day.
My local airport turned me into Kim by experience. One of the busiest airports, sometimes TSA takes 3 hours!
You'd be completely fkd flying to or from Australia.... this is our lives.
How do you get standby tickets? Would love to learn!
Agree with the other commenter..I only fly standby usually if a flight is cancelled.
The challenge is when both types of people have to travel together! Arrrrrrgggg, the stress!
I traveled once through LAX airport. You need to get to the airport 3-4 hours before your flight. That airport gets packed
After not flying for several years my husband and I were like Kim when we traveled in October. Hours early to the airport, sat at our gate, didn't want to wait in line for coffee in case something changed lol
Oh my goodness! I’m definitely Team Kim on this one! ❤
Plenty of us on team Penn!!
Me though. When I get the earliest flight available, I don’t even sleep. I usually end up being there as soon as ticketing opens up
Easy, you reserve a night at the hotel nearest to the airport
We took a 5:30 AM flight out of JAX last year, and I thought, "Eh, we won't need to be there before 4:30. There won't be anybody going through security that early." WRONG! Several high school basketball teams were in line ahead of us. We got through the line and had just enough time to hit the restrooms before boarding.
Not me 5.5 hours before my own flight today channeling Penn hard 😂✈️
Ok, this is the secret! If my ex and I had just come to the airport separately, we might not be exes!!
Btw, I'm totally Penn ❤
Me too!
Then I lower my blood pressure by staring at the gate for 2 hours.
;'D That's hilarious.
I lost it at I have time to do laundry. Laughing so hard.
thanks for watching
Im a mix of both and I love it 😂
I would go straight to the gate three hours early, and just sit there. 😂
That's what the books are for.
2 hours here! but gotta grab snacks at a store. beef jerky every time!
You need to get some life responsibilities if your time has no value
I would like to get to the gate 30 mins early at the latest but I ain’t sittin there for 3 hours. I’ll get to the airport 2 hours early but that’s it
@@MsBluebot yeah just got to get there early since how long security takes varies but i agree 30 min before boarding to get to gate is sufficiant but we usually get to the airport itself 2 hours early. usually security is fast at our airport though but you never know.

Wow, I feel seen!

I am so Penn when it comes to traveling. It drives my family nuts. Most of them didn’t know the airport had “Late Check-In” tags. Hahahha.
Lol laughed when she was hanging out in the airport rocking chair. I love getting early and exploring the airport! They have some interesting rest areas for sure hehe
Anxiety was high just seeing Penn do laundry! I could NEVER!
Pen gave me ANXIETY with all of that last minute stuff!!!
Yep, we’re a whole family of Kims. It’s worked in our favor, especially when weird things happen like all the long term parking lots are full or traffic is unexpectedly terrible.
The worst is when you're a Kim and a Penn is your ride to the airport. Talk about high anxiety.
Penn’s half so stressed me out. I’m all for being prepared, waiting is never a risk when I can get a coffee and read my book
"I packed two books, but I should probably get a third" 😂 100% me!
I am so on team Penn, once the exaggeration is dialed back. :) NOTHING annoys me more than sitting in an airport.
Same lol 😅
Absolutely spot on. Kim's style of airport people all the way. Be prepared!
was totally like Kim, then married a Penn and learned how to compromise (Actually - we very rarely take flights together anymore and he has missed too many flights to count.) Also, "You may be a redneck if, your dryer is your car going 60 mph"
I am exactly like Penn, fly 50 times a year, and have never missed a flight. Came close a few times, but never missed. Just gotta be smart…
4:28 HAHA 💩 "Chili dog is doing it's work!"
