Tide Kiosk yo I like your profile picture. It reminds me of my ex wife right before she told me she was a Nazi and she's divorcing me because I'm Jewish.
Tool Archive, respect dude, without this channel, those of us that appreciate everything an extremely talented band like Tool would not get the amount of listening time that I give them.
I'm excited but I mean damn dude some fans have no patience. Even if I'm sitting here 2020 waiting on the release date I'll be cool because the more time they can spend on it, the better. I love tool because they don't care how much people pressure them, they do things at their own pace and in their own way. That and their music is really good.
Take all time you guys need, to make a great album with the vision you intend. I’m digging through the depths of Lateralus again...I’ll need time to dig out.
Last time I saw Justin was in King Salmon, Alaska. We were playing out that night and had invited the band to come see us. And they did!! What a fun time that was. He definitely wasn't sober in 2013 and neither were we. Justin got up on the drums absolutely wasted...he played some odd time signatures for sure...really odd! LMAO. Thanks for coming out that night Danny. I know you weren't feeling the greatest at the time but still managed to get a song in and were really gracious to everyone there. One of the biggest thrills of my musical 'career' was jammin with those cats for like 10 minutes. Even though I was wearing a prom dress for the gig WTF LOL.
leafsfan1728 don't think it said more intense than Ticks and Leeches. Just heavier. T&L would frankly take a lot of beating, and Keenan's voice is not what it was at the start of the century. Even that song ( 8.07 ) required a long midway instrumental to allow for the final vocal assault, so you would expect even more instrumental cosseting this time around.
Andrew Lockett Yeah those are valid points...it would be a challenge for him to perform a strenuous song in the same vein as T&L. When I saw the mention of T&L I was thinking it would be something of a similar tempo.
leafsfan1728 well it may well be as heavy, or more so, as Ticks and Leeches. And Maynard's vocals could be just as ferocious. However if it's going to be >10 mins, count on ample instrumentation in between the ferocity. It may also be hard to perform as strongly live. Although as presented on the disc, could be sensational track, heavy and..intense.
this is the most excited ive been about an album since the first system of a down album came out way back when. one of my favourite things about tools music is those super long songs especially on 10,000 days so this makes me so excited!!
Was front row front right for the Northern Invasion show where James discussed the riot gear. Greatest fucking show Ive seen. So pumped for the new album and I can be patient as fuck for it. Thanks for letting me wake up to this awesome fucking news.
Really? I enjoy hearing the evolution of their music. Although it is a bit different, the persona holds true. I absolutely love "Eat the Elephant!" The message from start to finish couldn't ring any louder and more appropriate in this day and age.
Can't believe last time I saw them was 2001 for Lateralus which was the best concert I have ever been to. It's been way too long! Maybe I'll see them perform again by 2030
When this comes out, I will lay myself into bed and just listen to it from start to end. No one will be able to disturb me. Just me, myself and Tool reaching into my soul and elevating me.
that's great to hear they're expanding the availability of music formats. can they also make a high quality repressing of their other albums on vinyl along with their new one released on vinyl? that would be super awesome!
Some other random confirmed things the band has said that didn't make this video. They are going to remaster EVERY album, and release the records on 180 gram vinyl one by one. This will be happening during the final lead up to their new album. Also, Adam Jones said something that really stuck to me; which I firmly believe in when comes to my own song writing, as much as it does to Tool's. "The song's not good when it's done, it's done when it's good".
I've had a relationship with the number 7 for as long as I can remember, since I was a little kid. It's impacted me hugely and I've never been able to figure it out. I honestly can't wait to dark room this new album with some psychedelics.
Saw it.... Lit a bowl and grabbed a beer. Opened the curtains and looked at the sun hitting the trees in the slight breeze. Watched a funny video of a dog carrying a kitten up the stairs. Then clicked. 697th !!!
Thats what I always have been saying! I said that the next album of tool is the HL3 of music, but you know, HL3 will never be released unfortunately.....
Air Guitar except it's not a song, just bare bones of one segment of an unfinished composition, supposedly >10 mins. In any case, the intro is rather derivative of Wings for Marie/10 000 DAYS. Luckily, right now you can't really begin to fathom what this track will be like, and that's a way more exciting notion for me than the Descending snippet offered up so far.
Yeah i know, it's just part of another epic Tool song! And i'd have to say Wings for Marie/10,000 Days is one of my all time favorite Tool songs (emotional!). I can't wait to here Descending in it's entirety, especially if it flows in from the previous track.
After watching some recent interviews with Maynard , I think that this will be indeed Tools last album and it will be an introvert thing - while we were ascending up with Lateralus , this one will be a return - no more searching for something higher, but a descent into ones own Ego. My hopes are up and I cant wait.
Never has there been a time in my life at which I selected the thumbnail of a UA-cam video at such a speed that could be register at a faster speed than any given click previously in my existence.
I teared up with the story of the guy not drinking. In 2010, my wife was 7 months pregnant with our first child. We drove 12 hours to see Tool in Minneapolis. The wait is almost over people....love your family, love their music and it will be a glorious day when the album is announced. Til then, I will listen to them everyday and enjoy life.
You know? Way things have been going I'm betting that this album will drop right around September/October. At the very least, I'm damn certain it's going to be done before the end of the year. I'm hyped, but this may very well be their masterpiece. I'm willing to wait as long as it takes.
Video James Im guessing you didnt hear what the 3 guys recently said at one of the $500 "music clinics"? Only the drums have been recorded/tracked.....APC is now touring until almost xmas. Then you can bet Maynard takes a couple months off to rest his voice before recording starts. Post production (thats when everything is recorded) on 10,000 Days was over 12 MONTHS...We will be lucky if the album comes out before June of 2020 :-(
I was at one of the clinics, and after the show, during the mingling, I overheard a guy ask Justin when we can expect the album. He replied "In a couple months".
4 sets of 30 click reps, alternate each hand after each set. Make sure to only do it every other day so you give your body time to repair damaged muscle fibers in your fingers, hands, and wrists. Make sure to keep your protein count up, too. And drink fucking water. LOTS OF FUCKING WATER.
What I have taken away from Tool's music after all these years is they are creating art. This art happens to be ambiguous. It is art made with great care. They enjoy doing it for themselves more than doing it for the rest of us. We happen to enjoy it to varying degrees, and support them in their creation of this art. They are human beings like the rest of us. Except Maynard. he's an alien from outer space who has possessed a humans body. His mission here is to poke at peoples minds to see what kind of reactions he can get out of them...but that's not important. What is important is that old saying that Rome wasn't built in a day. And if this album takes another five years, then so be it. I for one am not ringing their bell every five minutes demanding they release their new album. If they never release another album, I will be fine with this as well. They are still a good band, and I enjoy their music. You'll find no banana's here.
Yes it will be their fifth album from the contract they first signed to. Meaning now I'm sure they have their own production label they can resign under to produce more albums without getting F in the a
I'm afraid you're right. But I love the fact that Tool albums don't release on a relentless cycle. This band has been releasing LPs since 1993. A quarter century and they've competed 4 full studio albums. In that same span of time, some other rock bands would have released a dozen (give or take) albums. Here's the thing about Tool, though. Not one of their albums have been shit. NONE. In fact, each one has been a masterpiece in its own right. I will take [4 (hopefully 5) GREAT works of progressive rock/metal ART] over [3 decent records and half a dozen cash-grabs or misguided "experiments"] ANY GODDAMN DAY OF THE WEEK. Tool albums are rare, precious things, to be treasured and loved for many generations to come. IN SHORT: give me QUALITY, quantity can go fuck itself with a sandpaper dildo lubed with lemon juice.
Maynard dead serious here...what happened to your 80s group C.A.D. I bet they wish they would have tried harder. I love that video. How freaking adorable were you?! And still had SO much confidence when you sing. The stage is where you belong sir.
It's either going to be a 5 song album or a double disc since they're all supposed to be over 10 min long. I personally want some 5 minute songs too...
My thoughts - With the synth, this album may lean more towards a NIN feal. I'm sure they'll have the refined Tool sound to it. (Refined Tool - Newer albums - Lateralus and shit) I doubt this will dissapoint, though.
That last comment doesn't seem real. Maybe just an inside joke seeing as 7 is the reoccurring number throughout the album? Or maybe just to say by the end of the year? Reason being MJK explained in an interview how albums release either in spring or fall. Also December seems like a weird time to release an album. We'll see. I'm gonna take a wild guess and say October/November but who knows.
Ice Kold Killa Spring seems more accurate, so April is best guess. Especially since APC was released in April, and October and November are very unrealistic timeframes. It's simply too soon for all the work that still needs doing, particularly in post production. If you had to bet, the sound money's on 2019.
As soon as I saw this I took a deep breath, waited 12 years, then clicked.
Damn, you're good at holding breath
FUCKING LMAO
"Every song is over ten minutes long" lol ok bring it on
Jeff Hopkins they're all at least 12 minutes long according to Buzz Osborne of the Melvins.
Good
I clicked in 11/8 time
Heard the album should be ready by early spring 2035 if we're lucky
Odella Orca That joke is no longer funny.
Mike Labonte I cant say what I want to even if im not serious?
In your dreams, it’s clearly gonna be out on 7/7/7777 at 7 AM.
Ouch dude
Odella Orca *If* we're lucky!😂
They told us on Lateralus:
“Be patient...”
They weren’t kidding
Clicked at a moderate speed
I clicked at a medium pace.
New fav comment
Not quite my tempo
Yes, we all know you clicked something faster than anything before
Windmeel but did you know I'm biracial?
This sounds like the perfect album, like nothing will ever beat this
I'm honestly hoping it's just an album full of subsonic frequencies that make people shit themselves and stab each other in the eyes.
I think it would be worth it for the laughs alone. Then again, a lot of people would still praise it.
Thats always a good combination!
Bahaha!
You mean like a Justin Bieber album?
Oh no wait, that's a Jay-Z album.."Biebs" is the other way around..shit on other people and stab myself in the eyes! Sorry my bad!
I clicked so fast, 10,000 days was just released
BlackDogsMatter iTunes? Spotify? Amazon? WHERE?
Ayden - I don't care what gets repeated. Until you or I can purchase the recording -- _all_ talk gets fed straight into the Inquirer shithole.

JuggaloNinjaClown yea, i also hope they don t rush it or do ut poorly bcs of pressure
nenume 0 Lol they obviously haven't rushed it. But I completely agree. Apparently this is Adams favorite album. Thanks @ToolArchive for this update
Is "JuggaloNinjaClown" your ICP gang name?
Chester Copperpot it isn't a gang...
Literally just a name for the fans of a particular group
JuggaloNinjaClown
- You mean the fans of your gang leaders, right?

@7:42 Holy shit! I've been curious about this question forever. Thanks so much for doing all the work to put these videos together!
7 months. To think it could all be over at long last in just 7 months is incredible.
joe namredla the 7 months to go statement was in 2010 my dude
No it wasn't, re-read the statement.
The promise of a track heavier than Ticks and Leeches and with more demanding vocals is actually kinda scary. Hope Maynard doesn't get himself killed.
Yeah but remember, Adam said there was a reoccurring theme with the number 7... Hopefully, Justin isn't playing along with what Adam had said...
7 months later, no hint of anything, lol!
December - January release sounds perfect.
weren't they releasing only in spring/fall due to music industry stuff?
evolution happened faster.
shaun smotherman yeah well this is more important
Beau Wofford 😁😁😁
it's still happening
nice
So excited with every new update that comes out. I am growing restless!
There are no letters to describe the sound I just made
"click" did it sound like that?

I love how well the Music Clinic visuals work with Descending. Feels like the opening credits to a movie.
Take all time you guys need, to make a great album with the vision you intend.
I’m digging through the depths of Lateralus again...I’ll need time to dig out.

GOD I'm excited for the artwork as well!
thank you for putting these together
Somehow this got in my recommend.
I "tapped" the vid with great enthusiasm and quickness
Knowing there is a track that is heavier and more intense than Ticks and Leeches is exciting!! 🤘
leafsfan1728 don't think it said more intense than Ticks and Leeches. Just heavier. T&L would frankly take a lot of beating, and Keenan's voice is not what it was at the start of the century. Andrew Lockett Yeah those are valid points...it would be a challenge for him to perform a strenuous song in the same vein as T&L. When I saw the mention of T&L I was thinking it would be something of a similar tempo.
They said “heaviest”, this’d mean heavier than even the Opiate album
Cinnamon Life Cereal Hardly an album by Tool standards. Some of their tracks have almost nudged the Opiate EP running time.
leafsfan1728 well it may well be as heavy, or more so, as Ticks and Leeches. And Maynard's vocals could be just as ferocious. However if it's going to be >10 mins, count on ample instrumentation in between the ferocity. It may also be hard to perform as strongly live. I'm looking very forward to this guys.......I know it will be epic!! TOOL = GOD LEVEL
Transcend Existence I really hope so,I was actually disappointed by this last APC album.. :(
Really? I enjoy hearing the evolution of their music. Although it is a bit different, the persona holds true. I absolutely love "Eat the Elephant!" The message from start to finish couldn't ring any louder and more appropriate in this day and age.
Clicked in odd time signature

I will never forget my first Tool concert. I don't mean to sound "new-age" but it was a transcendental experience. Can't wait for more.
This will probably be their last full tour. I must see them live at all costs. I'm so happy this is amAzing
that's great to hear they're expanding the availability of music formats. can they also make a high quality repressing of their other albums on vinyl along with their new one released on vinyl? that would be super awesome!
Pretty excited that they all claim it's their best work yet! Can't wait to hear "their heaviest song yet" either, woohoo!!!
agreed but its not like they are going to say "it sucks...im not sure why we are even wasting our time anymore"
THANK YOU!!!!!! I’ll finally be able to listen on Pandora.
Some other random confirmed things the band has said that didn't make this video.

BathroomGamers that last quote is as old as the hills. It might even have been from Lateralus!
Kanns kaum erwarten das taufrische Meisterwerk von einer gaaanz mega großen Band
TOOL begeistert einfach mit Genialität und Perfektionismus
I can't remember anticipating something as much as this after cliccing this.
Wish more musicians had this much dedication to there music .
Beautiful- thank you- from Poland, love!
I think I might be more pumped to hear this album than anything else I have to look forward to this year.
These visuals were absolute amazing 🤙🏼
I've had a relationship with the number 7 for as long as I can remember, since I was a little kid. It's impacted me hugely and I've never been able to figure it out. I honestly can't wait to dark room this new album with some psychedelics.

Awesome! Have fun seeing the world through a dumbed down numb, fuzzy haze... Also, no one cares...
We must have open minds, hearts, ears and souls when this drops. Expectations are not a good thing.
I clicked with relativelly high enthusiasme
I may or may not have clicked at some speed which may have been fast or slow
We will see Half Life 3 before this album 😁
lol
Perhaps...

MEPHIS very aware of this project and very excited... it may not be valve but it's close enough for me
No
Thats what I always have been saying!
I said that the next album of tool is the HL3 of music, but you know, HL3 will never be released unfortunately.....
I don't care if I've heard Descending so many damn times. It's such a hypnotic song. All Tool is, but this one seems to be on a different level.
(Emotional)
I never left my toolshed so fast to click the like button.
So excited it's almost here. 12 years is too long for a new Tool album. 👊✊The wait is almost over.
After watching some recent interviews with Maynard , I think that this will be indeed Tools last album and it will be an introvert thing - while we were ascending up with Lateralus , this one will be a return - no more searching for something higher, but a descent into ones own Ego. My hopes are up and I cant wait.
I need to live long enough to hear the new tool album!
Cannot wait for this new record!!!
Never has there been a time in my life at which I selected the thumbnail of a UA-cam video at such a speed that could be register at a faster speed than any given click previously in my existence.
I don't always click on my notifications, but when I do, it's you.
I clicked so slowly that others who clicked faster could tell how fast they clicked before I did.
goosebumps everytime there is an update.
So excited to hear tools new master piece
hi it’s stacie! OMG! I love this video! Great job and I love tool!
Best update so far! So stoked!
They're gonna bang out another 5 albums after this one comes out.
Can't wait for the new tool album
A/Decending is also in 7th. i like this theme!
Thanks for this as always!
Bananas is a 7 letters word. *NEW ALBUM WILL BE FILLED WITH POTASSIUM CONFIRMED!!!.*
I thought I recognized that clip. Rock on the range 2018.

thanks for the spicy meme at the end
cannot wait for the spiiiicy music though
Hoping for a really messed up track on the album.
Messed up in a good way or bad way?
BurningMask Good!
Then yeah i was thinking the same thing! Hope that "heaviest track" is really fucked up!
dominicjeffrey hoping to hear the track that blows Rosetta Stoned out of the water
warm fridge Literally my favourite track haha. Well, one of them.
Click, can’t wait! Will the new one only be available digitally? I can’t buy a cd?
I am so thrilled!!!
Any recommended exercises on getting my click game up?

Gonna be taking a day off when this comes out!
So are they going to release all their songs digitally around when the album comes out
They are hyping this thing up like crazy. Idk whether to be excited or nervous.
Just looking forward to it
goosebumps ... pumped!
This will be their last album.
If Im not wrong they signed up for 5 albums, this will be their fifth and most likely final one
Yes it will be their fifth album from the contract they first signed to. Meaning now I'm sure they have their own production label they can resign under to produce more albums without getting F in the a
