justin's bass fuzz sounds so much cooler here than on the album
Exactly
That fuzz sounds better live generally. My guess is that distortion really fucks with frequencies and levels for recording. Jambi has a way cooler sound live too but the album is much softer.
@@AquariusC for real, jambi sounds way crazier live. the thing is, justin's fuzz was screaming on Aenima. that's what perplexes me
I think it's just Evil Joe's mixing style to turn distorted/overdriven bass down a lot since he seems to be guitar first and foremost producer. He did the same thing with Wavering Radiant by Isis' mix when you compare it to the live recordings on their tours before they broke up
@@MajorShmoopy now we're getting to the bottom of it. how do people like this get jobs like this
This album will definitely go to number one on the billboard. It's like millions of smack addicts waiting for a hit, and i'm itching like crazy
It's Half-Life 3 of music world. It won't only go nr. 1, it will crush nr.1.
Your prediction was right my good sir
Prophet
You were right brother
I'm from the future, yeah, it absolutely shredded every top chart that ever existed when it came out
The sound of bass. ❤️
Tool has changed my life!
D vrill 500$ for the worse I assume
hahaha. The worse, the better!
D vrill mine too
D vrill
A live Tool show is a religious experience
tool changed the lives of all these fans
That riff...the last 36 seconds...makes you want to change shapes and scale the walls...GOD I can't wait.
Howard Roark its very fun to play on guitar as well.
Love the mellow and relaxing beginning. Fits well with my some of my favorites which are Intension, disposition, and reflection
Makes me feel cold and alive. Massive chills. This is better than the album, so real and perfect
Just bought myself a little present. If it wasn't for the inspiration I've gotten from Tool's music, I wouldn't have landed my dream job and been able to afford something like this. I owe it to Tool, they owe me nothing. Can't wait!
You're a pimp now?
Yes yes yes! Finally the masterpiece is almost coming alive🔥
holy shit, it's happening boys.
Nitos and girls !!!
Jesus Murphy!
Nitos yes yes!!!!!!!!!!!
Great taste in music kid! Welcome!
I was born same year lol. just turned 14
We traveled from Mexico to attend the Chicago Clinic. Worth every dollar... It's an honor to be a TOOL Fan!
Raised on Zeppelin & The Beatles, my father scoffed when I told him in 1991 that TooL would change the history rock & roll. Still blowing my mind to this very day, my pops would occasionally call to tell me of a new rock song he liked. Not so long ago, he said he ‘really liked that TooL song on the radio “Shedding Skin”. With a giggle I replied ‘yeah pop, that’s a good one’, knowing that many years later that he had realized the greatness we all heard many years ago.
Wow! is your surname Nostradamus? how could you pick up that Tool would be a worldwide success in 1991, before they even released an EP? That's one year after formation. Sure they would have had some talent even then, but at such an early stage, assessing they will be history changing in the rock genre takes some predicting!!!
Andrew Lockett LOL! Quite right....TooLDamus. No...I obviously mis-thought or mistyped. ‘93 is what I meant. Although I enjoyed Opiate (‘92) prior to, it was Undertow in which I made that reference to.
I dont mind waiting, I will be listening to this album for the rest of my life.
Finally!!! Light at the end of this dark tunnel !!! Love that bass!!!🖤
I love them so much I'm crying right now
I CANT WAIT, SO READY
Can't wait to hear what this song becomes on the album. They we're playing the intro to 10,000 days back in 2002 and it evolved into an amazing song
So stoked for this album
Que emoción!!!!!! Esperamos con ansias más magnífica musica💓 desde Chile
Just release the goddamn album guys
TOOL What are you talking about?
Heisenberg That what happened to A perfect Circle? 😂😂😂
They are recording it as we speak. @adamjones_tv
Never heard this before
Andrew Brietbart Sick
Can't wait to hear this song in full
I NEED NEW TOOL NOW!!!!!!!
I am so goddamn jealous! Holy crap. This greatly improved audio gives me massively epic vibes.
I agree. Even though I have heard this song A LOT, this softer version sounds really damn good.
I've never been more upset that I don't have an extra $2000 lying around.
Perhaps Maynard needs some Man Friday to help build a gold plated suspension bridge over the Verde?? Six months hard labour and you might have 10% of what you seek)))
Yo, all my Europe bois, who is hyped for the album and finally for tours?
yyyyeeeeeeeeeeeep
I am. But I won't hold my breath....... if this VIP event was happening in the UK it would be the best thing since I discovered how much better spaghetti on toast is when you add marmite into that party.....
Mee
HELL YEAH! Now let's hope they tour UK this year and hopefully get this Music Clinic here in London.
8 days till summer I barfed when I read marmite. 😂
..so good to see you once again...
Please, release your stuff on Spotify! Can't wait for the album!
Descending sounds further along in its development. Keep it comin! See you at the Columbus clinic.
Damn, this version of descending sounds great. Can't wait to hear the full release!
The last picture of the whole group photo. Right above Danny’s ride in the black shirt, dats me. Greatest day I’ve ever had in memory. They are so nice and down to earth.
I would be psyched but alas I live in East St.Louis Illinois. Hope some day I could hit up Chicago or somewhere in Indy to see them that would be awesome! Much love from the STL, ultra hyped for the new album.
Wings For Marie part 3.
Twimpy Boy spot on master Twimpy. Give it wings to fly on it's own, but without the Marie part this time around.
That'd be dope, but Maynard even said himself the song was a mistake. He should've never been that open with fans and he swears to never do it again
Ethan Woods well if that's the case, it was the most beautiful "mistake" ever produced
Bought my ticket for Chicago, so hyped!
Sounds amazing chills
eyes watered, chills, goosebumps, hair on my neck standing on end...yep it's Tool
I really like this. I'm so happy the guys are doing this. Its like the song Reflection and Third Eye had crazy sexy and this baby!!!!
This shit kills me. Seriously I don't think it's normal to have this much inherent, pure love for a band. Tools music, the feelings that are automatically sprung from my souls core...from beyond my knowledge of my time on Earth. .I swear to god, it's not normal. The genuine fear of something sounding and feeling so fucking beautiful...it scares me. Mixed with anticipation, joy, wonder, yet fear. Fear of being so touched to the core of my soul ..tragic beauty.
This will probably be the final tool album they wait another 11 years too make another album Maynard would be 65 years old!!! Shits crazy but hell I’d still go see him!!! Plan on seeing em for a fourth time this year or next and you can count on that 🤘🏻🎸🤘🏻
The Beatles are still around...Aerosmith....and others. It’s possible.
WunRom not to mention the ubiquitous Stones. They'll still be rockin in their cryogenic chambers, at least Keith will be.
AL FIN!!!!!! Por fin quise escuchar en este momento!!!!
please come back to the idaho center!!! we
While listening to this I got cold chills thinking about future me listening to the new Tool album for the first time.
I just realized what you meant in the title. This is the official high quality version of A/Descending! Holy shit! Gonna download this audio from here, NOW!
Oh my!!!! Its true the legends are back and its damn true!!!!!
At this point I'm not surpriced if they don't sell out, it's been a long time. But nice to hear somr studio sound finally...
Have you heard Hooker with a penis? lol Do you fucking people not listen to the lyrics of Tool songs?
I'm glad I was already sitting on the toilet when I got the notification for this video. ♥️💋♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️
Maynard can take all the time he needs. I find it more than music. I have been given eyes that see nothing but possibilitys.
If you are listening to this, know that I have so much love for you in my heart
Still listen to this daily
This is so beautiful...
As hyped as this is, I'm got student loans to pay off. I'll buy the deluxe edition for the album, but I cant drop 500 bucks on a ticket, as cool as that would be to just talk to Jones about art
TappySapJr lol same
I find it funny that I heard Tool for the first time at 12 years old when 10,000 Days came out and here I am at 24 still waiting for the next release. Literally half of my life has been spent waiting for this album.
7 more months everyone. I’m so hyped! Are y’all?
Sample of Tool music clinic: "So we play a note, then play every other note and rhythm combination next and discuss as a group which ones we liked and didn't like. Then we take a week of meditation on that note and reconvene. Then we move onto the next note and yadda, yadda, yadda 15 years later you have an album."
Looking back on this now, it was Descending all along!
And then.
It actually happened.
And it was glorious.
*O MY!!! THIS IS GOING HARD!! I DONT CARE HOW MUCH MONEY OR HOW FAR I GOTTA DRIVE OR FLY I WILL BE SEEING TOOL NEXT YEAR AGAIN AHHAHAAJAJAAJAJJAAHAJDKFKFNCJRJNDJIR.*
I already know what I'm doing the day this album gets released. I'm calling in sick at work and binge-listening to the album all motherfuckin day! Words can't even describe how excited I am for this new album - Tool means so much to me it came to me in a time of desperation and change and it was the perfect music it fit so well with the theme of my life changes.
Alabando el gran trabajo de Tool desde Chile!
If you think $500 for this is steep, I'll share my experience. I was lucky that I could charge the ticket price for this, flight, motel, car, and Monster Mash festival ticket. It was the only real traveling I did in 2015. I had never seen TOOL before. My first exposure was at the Tempe VIP. Two friends and I are in the group picture about 2/3 of the way through this video. You can't get any closer while they perform than at one of these events. They answered a LOT of questions. Autographs, photos, discounted merch, and the groups are small. I've seen TOOL perform 6 times since then. Even so, I do plan to go to one of these again, because it truly is worth it.
I won’t have the time or money to get to any of these, but I’d like to clarify a couple of grievances I’m reading. Unofficially, of course. The band owes you nothing. If you don’t want to pay $500 to interact, hear new sounds, get memorabilia etc, don’t. It’s a limited smaller gathering to allow for Q&A and will help the band offset some upcoming distribution/tour/lighting/gear expenses. Keep in mind they haven’t been garnering much attention and revenue in the last several years. So these exclusive gatherings will help provide some forward momentum for the band and for fans alike. This band has been built on the element of surprise and mystery. I’m glad they haven’t been putting out half-done mixes of their newer material. It will make the album that much more special and the impact less fragmented. Instead of recognizing snippets of familiarity taken out of context of the entire song/album, the band chooses to withhold the totality to maximize the impact of the final presentation. In a music climate full of sound bites, gimmicks and click-bait, I can appreciate that decision. TOOL write songs that unravel slowly and demand patience. This translates into their entire process of gathering ideas, writing, preparing a live performance, and presenting all of that to the listener. Always keep in mind that they owe you nothing. Be thankful they’re still doing this and support them in whatever capacity you feel is appropriate.
Also, by limiting entry, they’ll certainly weed out a lot of the bad eggs. Those who make it out will likely be appreciative fans who have a lot of love to give. Unlike some of the douchebagery we see so much of within these threads.
The sense of entitlement has to be #1 on the list of douchebagery.
Well said
amen dear brother
evergreenjd no bad eggs are going to spend $500.
I swear ive heard this before. Must just be the style. Love it.
I am so fucking hyped now. Tool have been my favorite band ever since I was a kid and I'm happy to be alive for at least one more album. :)
Nothing is worse than someone being the very best at what they do and it going to their head and playing with the hearts of the FANS!Yeah Im talking to you MAYNARD!
We will probably be waiting another 5 yrs for this album
The recorded version sound amazing
omfg i choked
MEDIC!
This is a music clinic, you'll be fine.
sounds so good
I read this as I was choking on cereal
knaqsi me pa qe ka hala shqiptar qe ngojin TOOL !!
Yea!!
Sounds somehow like a Krautrock Classic - love it!
I just wanna point out I'm 17 and saw tool live with my mom and it was amazing.
Mas Tool no podia ser el tema laputamadre que zarpado !! aguante
Gee wizz when that madly distorted bass kicked it my ring hole self lubricated, sounding heavy my dudes. Can not wait!
I'm so ready to drop 3 tabs and go on the journey. ALBUM NOW PLEASE
Seems like it would be pretty badass if I could afford to attend. Unfortunately I'm poor. On a different note: Danny and Justin have always been one of my favorite bass/drums team. Along with Lopez and Mendez from Opeth and Myung and Portnoy from DT.
Well it sounds like something they have done a thousand times before.
Still looking forward to it:)
I've listened to their most musically interesting album, in my opinion, 10,000 Days and this sounds more complex. At least nearing the end of the preview, so if this keeps up, the album progressing with technicality, I think it'll be very interesting.
WE HAVE OUR EYE FOR THE ALBUM, BOYS
CunningCondor All 3 of em
This sounds awesome, especially that bass. I'd go to the Pittsburgh show if I could afford $500 tickets.
Straight to the top of my bucket list...sigh
Sounds pretty good. I would expect as much after a twelve year wait.
dkyelak good albeit derivative. The album proper will sort it all out.
TOOL ❤
Can't wait to hear what Maynard's melody is going to sound like on this song.
Plus photo opportunities...with band members. I guessed that, I didn’t think it would just be me taking photos with my mate Steve!
Ginger Floof you can do that too if you want to, double bubble.
This is obviously still just a mixed live recording, but my god the vibes from this give me a good feeling that when this album drops its gonna be along the lines of Lateralus or close to it. If its better than 10,000 days i can die happy.
They've been playing this live since 2014, first as an intro to Schism, then in 2015 as the full version.
Wow just wow I missed the tour I only found out about it 4 minutes ago. I hope there's a July tour.
Hoping some new songs will be played at the upcoming concerts
ill believe it when I see it ! the new album
If I had 500 bucks to blow I would. I'll just wait for the album, lol. I'm happy enough with that...
Frigging miss tool, we need them bad right now.
Remember before 10,000 days came out, all there was,was the intro to vicarious to go on. Makes me wonder if this descending is the intro to a song, an intro to the album, descending into a trance, which is what im going to be in when/if i listen to it
Mr. X yeah I feel at 3:04 the track ends and leads into another, that other part was just added to wrap up the partial demo
What a great way to start the day
Amazing.
from what ive read in interviews i think this song is a mashup of pieces of all their new songs. As kind of an introduction to whats coming. But it might not even be on the recording is my understanding.
Q & A, first question:
When is the new album comming out?
If this is 3:30 of one of the 10 minute songs on the upcoming album then it was worth the 12 year wait. I do hope they actually release the album before I die. I'm not getting any younger here.
Unbelievable sound, goosebumps all over every fabric of my being. Earth is the only place to hear Tool, hearing this makes me feel like two snakes coiling up my spine to the top of my head, it's like a kundalini awakening 🤘👽
Stephen Prontack yeah but this is nothing yet. Just cookie cutter Tool jammin sounds. A greatest hits LP is what we do not need. New Tool mandates new, fresh sounds, biting, loud and above all, cathartic.
Still waiting!
Eh, wake me when the album drops. I'll be asleep for another 12 years.
Wake up bro
☀
Wake up!
2 more weeks of sleep
I hope the new album will be available digitally as well
Yesssss
We are all connected, that's why when someone has a pain somewhere elase, you feel pain too....its sad man....
