I saw my grail watch quite quickly after i got into watches around 3 years ago. I thought i would never be able to afford it. Now i bought the watch a couple weeks ago and it's absolutely stunning. It's the Omega Aqua Terra 38mm 2017 version with black dial. Don't want any other watch than this.
That's a great place to be in. I had that after I bought my Longines Spirit 37mm; coupled with my Sinn 356 Sa these are my only go-to watches in my small collection. Tried a few and quickly consolidated my tastes. No more splurging on watches!
Adrian you have fantastic taste. I love this watch for the same reasons you noted, vintage, patina and a rotating bezel. No quick set is a bummer, but i have a 6694 from 1966 with same issue. I keep it in my rotation to minimize the pain of setting the date. well done lad!
BEAUTIFUL - I purchased a Turn O Graph years ago after enjoying one of your vids featuring this watch!!! Love this watch and still own it... I actually put on a custom made Bund strap and it ROCKS!!!!! Thanks so much Adrian for your good work and this is not the only watch I purchase with the AB (or AET) seal of approval!!! Stay well Adrian and keep up the great content!
I think I understand what you mean about the "affordable grail" - for me its often a vintage piece, such a watch I may have desired as a teen (Brosnan's wavy dial blue Seamaster) which I recently got and lov . On mission in Iraq in the 90s I picked up an Omega Seamaster Polaris (titanium and gold) at a local market and it never worked so I threw it out - but I loved its lovely shape and will get one one day, the XL version with the anadigital display. Another digital grail I recently got, a vintage Breitling Aerospace from late 90s, super light digital and the ultimate airline pilots watch at the time. All these watches can be had for around 2000$ and are really cool. I guess once you start getting beyond the conventional must-haves, such as modern Rolex or Omega, you dare to explore your deeper and more quirky desires, and thats why they are grails, it the sense that you need to complete a collectors journey and personal transformation before are able to buy what you really appreciate and follow your true emotions. In your case it may be cheap but authentic quartz army watches, and not that gaudy Root Beer that you only keep as a trophy but don't really love.
Enjoying this channel more and more. Glad you're covering watches that aren't out of the reach of mere mortals. Regarding grail watches, I've come to realize that it's best to handle a watch in person before allowing it to become a "grail" piece. Otherwise you end up dreaming about something, only to be disappointed. Kinda like your Royal Oak Jumbo video. PS. Your 14270 obsession led me to look at Explorers and I bought a 114270. Completely happy with it. Cheers.
I bought two watches off eBay and their authentication process was flawless. They not only validate the watch but also the bracelet or strap. It provides protection to the buyer and seller.
Your assessment that it was flawless is based on what? That the seller sent you what you wanted? Cool, the seller was flawless, what did the authentication service do for you?
@@MPD90 It was based on my two experiences. For the first watch, the seller sent it to the authenticator and upon examination, they called me and notified it was not authentic and reversed the sale. That saved me from getting stuck with a fake watch and trying to get my money back. For the second watch, they called me and said the watch was authentic but not the bracelet and asked me if I still wanted it. I accepted that because I didn't mind getting an aftermarket strap. Flawless transactions on both counts. I will def buy more watches from eBay again.
I’m a space nerd and watch nerd so naturally I love the Speedy! My favorite vintage reference is Neil Armstrong’s 105.012 as well as most Apollo astronauts 145.012. Just classic Moonwatch Professional with patina lume, lemania movement, first with twisted lugs, etc. My other favorite is the neo-vintage 3592.50 odd-ball that had hesalite crystal front with tridium lume, but sapphire caseback, the best of both worlds!
It's great having you back making great content on your own channel. Love the watch. I have vintage pieces but only wear them occasionally because of their fragility. This combines vintage with real world use ability. A win-win in my book.
Beautiful piece, the character is beautiful. Very much relates to my 37 mm 1966 Omega 165.027 and 1968 135.027, also somewhere between sports and dress. The emotion you feel for them is more powerful than for 2024 pieces. In particular - in my case - if those pieces date back to childhood years and bring up all the memories, emotions and dreams from one's childhood. So yes, a scratched 1967 Speedy 321 matters more to me than a 2024 Richard Mille piece that is emotionally a dead object.
Very cool grail! Thanks for sharing. I just picked up a 34mm 1995 Air King with some beautiful patina on its naturally silver dial giving it an interesting sunburst effect. It'll be my last watch I get for a while because it was a relatively big purchase for me. The Air King is also my birthyear watch which makes it all the more exciting. It has a engine turn bezel too which is pretty neat :) Awesome seeing you also get a vintage Rolex and uploading the video the day after I got mine. Enjoy and wear in great health Adrian!
Congrats! Looks a lovely example. I love the understated way in which you’ve really done your homework as always, and chosen carefully to get what you wanted. A lovely addition to your collection 🫡
That’s cool. Not my jam, but looks great with some patina. Great to see some ‘real world’ content rather than the £2m watches on ‘other’ channels. Thanks for everything you do.
My favorite Speedmaster is the 2018 Ultraman, subtle sweet little orange accent touches and the UV light radiance gimmik set it apart very well from the usual bunch. Have to like orange though.
In terms of Speedy suggestions, I just bought an absolutely mint 29 year old MK40 (3520.53), which is utterly stunning, very unique for a speedmaster and at 39mm right up your street Adrian. That said might be a bit too colourful for Captain Boring! Luckily there’s also a black and white version (3520.20). And if you buy a pre-1996 version of either of those models you’ll get tritium lume, which has an incredible natural patina. I’m also keeping an eye out for a vintage 3592.50 (also known as a De Luxe or Apollo XI) from the mid-90’s. These are your classic Speedy, but with a sapphire caseback showing off a stunning gilt 863 movement. Pre-1996 versions of these also have tritium lume that patinas beautifully. As for a more modern Speedy, I’d grab a First Omega In Space if I was you Adrian. It has Alpha hands like your Turn O Graph, is 39mm and has no crown guards, so again it’s a bit different to your average Speedy.
I picked up a 2022 Speedy 57 with sunburst blue dial. With the stainless steel bezel its a little more dressy than the traditional speedy moonwatch and most speedy that have a black bezel. Still sporty. Love it
My Speedy suggestion is the Mk IV (176.009). A little more unusual variant of the Speedmaster. All of the no-nonsense goodness of the moon watch with a 70's flair. First automatic movement (1040) used by Omega in a Mark II case with date and 24 hour sub-dial. Still can be found for a decent price.
I own a vintage Turnograph on oyster strap. I love that fact it’s lesser known model and has platinum bezel. A dealer said a collector realised how scarce they are and started buying enough to squeeze the market, but prices haven’t moved atm.
Speaking of Omega Speedmaster: I’d say one of my grails’ is a Speedmaster Mark 4.5 (Lemania 5100). It’s odd and I don’t hear much about them, plus I love the 5100 complications. So much info but still useful, I’ll get there eventually 😅
What an amazing find! Looks like a robust watch for it's age. As for my attainable grail, it's the blue Black Bay 36 with the smile dial. I set a goal to start saving for that later this year or next year.
I bought a TurnOGraph based on Adrian’s old video celebrating it, and in particular the blue dial which I was fortunate enough to obtain. Mine was from the early 1970s. Still a favourite in my collection.
Nice watch , I love Vintage watches, I have a 1970 Rolex Explorer and a 2022 Rolex Explorer and I find myself gazing at my Vintage Explorer lots more as it looks perfect
I paid £700 for a new Oyster strap straight from Rolex HQ in St. James Square. Makes my vintage Rolex feel like a brand new watch. I wear my every day now
Congrats on your new watch Adrian. I love the unique look of it and how it wears. Vintage is certainly something I’m growing more fond of now. Enjoy it!
i really like vintage rolex as they did more different dials back then. the dials from different stones were amazing. hopefully they bring the back soon
I've got a little Speedmaster 3511.50, interesting version of the smaller automatic Speedmasters as it is a Valjoux 7750 movement. Plus it looks cool on my little wrists
Glad to see you finally got that turn-o-graph after you mentioned it back in that video in 2018 - which I watched! I got my 1625 in a trade for my 3570.50 moonwatch a 3 years ago and never looked back. It has the classic stick hands but on a super rare taupe and sigma dial. I love that it is a date just but with a functioning ROTATING white gold bezel. How cool is that. I think its the best mix of sports and dressy. It’s usually on either a dark green Tropic or Bulang&sons Ripstop or distressed grey suede. Really anything goes. I’ve been on the hunt for a 7836 oyster bracelet as a sportier counterpoint to its original 62510H jubilee - and that is proving it to be a difficult find with the correct clasp code. But that’s really the fun of it! Thanks for reading this long comment.
Enjoying the content C.B. or A. B. whichever works on the given day. I too am after a Cartier Santos 2 tone as my ultimate dress piece and hope to one day get a Sub no date. Keeping the dream alive at 220+ watches in!
Great buy!! I also love the not so obvious choices, this piece has character and it looks outstanding for being 60 years old. Congrats mate!! We need an estate of the collection update soon!!
My grail is the Black Bay 54. Vintage styling with modern piece of mind that graces my 6.5" wrist like nothing else so I've stopped visiting AD's. For every future milestone I'm gifted, this will be with me. Keep the content coming Adrian ☺️
Thats a fantastic looking vintage Rolex. I have several grails. An achievable grail piece is the Speedmaster silver Snoopy. But slightly beyond my reach with out a lottery win are the Vacheron Constantin Overseas and Speedmaster green and moonshine gold model...I love Speedmasters
When I sold my First Omega in Space Speedmaster on eBay, I was required to send it to the authentication center in Dayton (if I recall correctly) rather than directly to the buyer. It was apparently something eBay required on its own because I know it was not something I had arranged as a seller. When I bought my 3861 Speedmaster on eBay, it also had to go through authentication and that was also not something as a buyer that I had requested in any way. It arrived with the red paper underneath the case and attached to each side of the strap, but I was able to easily slip off the red paper without tearing it and could have easily slipped it back on. I'm all about the vintage Datejust and always will be, but for me it's got to be the engine turned bezel.
That is a great choice. Looks classic and elegant. Universal G pole routers is grail for me. One from the 50s. I hope Breitling revive them but not silly and huge!
Hey Adrian, good timing on this video for me. I just bought my affordable grail about 3 weeks ago and it is very similar to yours. I bought a 1976 (birth year) datejust steel and yellow gold with a fluted bezel. I bought a Wide Boy dial which are a bit less common than the standard 70s datejust dials. I'm not use to watches under 39mm but I really like the way the 36mm wears. Great video!
This is a great watch Adrian, congratulations! I chanced upon the ebay listings some years ago and fell in love with how wacky (but also how true to the era) it was. This was before i discovered your videos and i have to say it's starting to hit grail status for me as well.
I knew straight away it was going to be a turnograph. You mentioned it close to the time you inspired me to got my first entry level watch, the Oris diver 65 which I still have.
The speedmaster is one of my favorite watches and as of this moment my only watch. I have the latest model with hesalite and that’s what I recommend. It’s durable, can take shocks and magnets, has hacking. I prefer the hesalite because of the history behind it but also because it has a really nice distortion when looking at it from an angle. Plus it just looks amazing on straps and natos. I wear mine with your natos.
I just picked up a 3572.50 hesalite last year and it’s stunning, I absolutely love it. That being said I turned around and bought a 16600 SeaDweller as well so I understand the desire for an older Rolex too.
Great review of a classic Rolex! For a speedy, I would recommend the OG moon watch. Ref. 105.012. One of the first speedy-pros and comes with the storied 321 movement. Price range is four to five figures (pounds or dollars) depending on condition.
Was skeptical about eBay authentication…. But there goes my weekend searching for an Explorer II… my wife will be thrilled. I’m pinning any purchase on you Adrian…..it’s great to have grail watches imo…what ever shape/size/make that floats your boat…we all gotta dream!
Nice! Big fan of the turn-o-graph. Rotating bezels are such a handy complication, I’m kinda surprised this watch didn’t take off…pun intended for the thunder bird!
Love the watch. I want an explorer II GMT, but will not pay the massively inflated prices they want for them now, hopefully they come down to a more acceptable price again.
Your grail watch is awesome- love the history and industry significance! Re which Speedmaster: I know everyone can say “buy this one because…” and everyone is right. Which one will I seek to own? The current 321. For its historical reference and for its beauty. The mechanism seen through the exhibition case back is gorgeous. I guess that answers the grail watch question too
Great video, and I have been interested in the Turn-o-Graph for a while. With respect to a Speedmaster, I recently made my first foray into the neovintage market and purchased a reference 3590.50.00. From the early 1990s and the last version with the 861 movement. Very comfortable to wear on the original bracelet, and I really like the hesalite and the patina of the tritium lume looks great. I’ve already gotten several comments on it, even from non-watch friends.
It looks fantastic mate! I would love a video of you delving into some more vintage style pieces. With regards to sponsored videos, it’s natural for great content creators to grow and expand on the quality of their videos - I still love this channel and understand that sponsored posts pay the bills! Keep it up 👍
As soon as this video started playing, my head said Turn-O-Graph. I recall you mentioning it years ago, it’s a grail of mine also. I also remember commenting on the video you did when Tudor released the P01, I commented that it looked like the illegitimate love child of a Seiko 5 and a Turn-O-Graph. I prefer the later model, but you’ve certainly bought a touch of class.
One of your grails is a Speedmaster. If you can find a good 145.068… if not any with caliber 861, and nice patina (before 1995) seems for you. 😎 Personally I like the crisp white lume but also the 861 caliber. So I looked and found one built after 1995 but before the introduction of the 1861 caliber. 🤩
I’ve always loved the turn-o-graph. The only thing that has kept me from buying one is I have larger wrists and it looks a bit too small when I’m wearing it. Congrats!
As always - a great edit. The Rolex looks great and has had just enough life experiences. (Very Interesting information on Ebay's authenticity service.) I sold my Dad's gold Omega 'constellation' to my brother many years ago (In a time of need). It was new in the '50s when it was purchased by our father. I also sold my own gold 'Jaeger le Coultre' rectangular dress watch in the '70s.... It was almost new to me at the time, both the JLC and the Omega are Vintage now. My point is; I rather regret selling both! Times have changed, and I am more enthusiastic about Watches now than I was at the time...and I am certainly Vintage today.
Congrats on the new watch Adrian! The best days are new watch delivery days… and the Turn O Graphs are an unusual collection… I actually like the versions just before discontinuation, but yours is in amazing shape and looks killer. Well done!
I quite like the new omega seamaster diver in green. I already have one of my attainable grails which is a Tudor Black Bay GMT. It's a really nice watch and not everybody knows what it is in the U.S, which is a plus.
My obtainable grail, which I'm going to start saving for by late spring, is a Bregeut Tradition. Just love that thing. Wish I could swing the retrograde seconds, but that's a $10k upgrade, and just beyond my ability to justify.
I didn’t mind the ad at all having never purchased from e-bay, I learned something new. Thanks, Adrian.
Turn-o-graph. I was NOT expecting that.
It’s a bad ass watch
If you’re an OG here, you knew this day would come. Congrats Adrian!
So great to have you back Adrian. Great stuff.
Got my AT 38mm in white last month, put James Bond Nato strap.
Good luck with that being your last watch
Adrian you have fantastic taste. I love this watch for the same reasons you noted, vintage, patina and a rotating bezel. No quick set is a bummer, but i have a 6694 from 1966 with same issue. I keep it in my rotation to minimize the pain of setting the date. well done lad!
I'm already obsessed with that watch and that's the first time I've seen it. I know what I'll be doing for weeks to come. Thanks allot.
Feels like I’m seeing more of your content lately. It’s been great. Great addition to your collection.
It’s a gorgeous watch. Congrats. My grail watch is the Breitling Superocean Heritage with the rainbow number markers.
Congrats! Looks a lovely example. I love the understated way in which you’ve really done your homework as always, and chosen carefully to get what you wanted. A lovely addition to your collection 🫡
I've always liked the Turn-O-Graph too. There are some versions that have a red seconds hand that caught my attention.

I love this watch!!! A friend of the family had one when I was a kid with the bi metal jubilee and I’ve wanted one ever since.
Very cool watch, love the handset especially. The black dials from the first year are great too
What a beauty. I remember you doing a video on this way back and being very taken with it then. The specimen you bought is pure gorgeous.
I own a vintage Turnograph on oyster strap. I love that fact it’s lesser known model and has platinum bezel.
A dealer said a collector realised how scarce they are and started buying enough to squeeze the market, but prices haven’t moved atm.
fabulous! I bought a 1995 white gold bezel with blue dial on oyster braclet last year. I adore it.

I have a 1625 two tone jubilee with the blue dial (slight purple hue) - gold bezel on these is just amazing - congrats!
What an amazing find! Looks like a robust watch for it's age. As for my attainable grail, it's the blue Black Bay 36 with the smile dial. I set a goal to start saving for that later this year or next year.

I paid £700 for a new Oyster strap straight from Rolex HQ in St. James Square. Makes my vintage Rolex feel like a brand new watch. I wear my every day now
That's really interesting! My grail would be the Explorer 1016, it's such a beautiful watch.
I second that
She's a beauty Adrian, well done!
Thanks mate.
Nice choice! Im not really into rolex, but i can really appreciate this "off the beaten path" selection.
Congrats on your new watch Adrian. I love the unique look of it and how it wears. Vintage is certainly something I’m growing more fond of now. Enjoy it!
Congrats Adrian, like your style of taking about watches, very simple, very direct and honest about your opinions, so keep it up.
i really like vintage rolex as they did more different dials back then. the dials from different stones were amazing. hopefully they bring the back soon
realllly love the yellow & red dial schumacher speedmasters from late 90s. On the hunt for a birthyear one!
I've got a little Speedmaster 3511.50, interesting version of the smaller automatic Speedmasters as it is a Valjoux 7750 movement. Plus it looks cool on my little wrists
Great watch, congrats!
That watch is beautiful. Congrats Adrian on getting your grail. That watch was made for you! I personally love your style- simple elegance!
My grail watch is vintage Tudor Submariner which I have! ❤ Took quite some time but I sourced it eventually. 😊

That is a minter! Genuinely unique and properly underrated, you’re bang on about that. Well bought, Adrian!
Definitely a very underrated piece with a rich history. Great work.
Happy for you Adrian! Wear it in good health!
OH MY GOD, that thing is a beauty!!!
Personally I don't like Rolex (there, said it), but I can see, why you love this watch, Adrian. Congrats, mate 👏🏼
The post 2000 Turn-a-Graphs are some of my favorites.
I just picked up a 3572.50 hesalite last year and it’s stunning, I absolutely love it. That being said I turned around and bought a 16600 SeaDweller as well so I understand the desire for an older Rolex too.
Excellent strap choice. Suits it perfectly! My unaffordable grail is a vintage Blancpain (no date) Aqua Lung.
Congratulations, great to see you make a grail from years ago come true! Highlights your love for the watch! 👏🏻 Great purchase!
Looks amazing, I personally think that’s a stunner of a watch and at a pretty damn good price. Great purchase Adrian!
I guess that answers the grail watch question too
My grail watch is a 29mm Cartier Santos Carree 2961 with the folding clasp (not butterfly clasp).
Great to have you back, missed you.
I think that the turn-o-graph is one of the sexiest vintage rolexes ever made, Congratulations Adrian, enjoy it.
Speedmaster 3594.50 is my fav speedy! Still patiently waiting for the right one to show up locally 😅
Just happy this channel is putting out new content.
Yes, great watch. Also good to see how the ebay thing works. Love that watch, have watched/looked at it many times - it is an absolute beauty.
You know what they say buy what you love and you did . I bought a 1967 GS in 36mm and it is awesome
I like it, I was looking at turn-o-graphs because of the vintage, price, and design/looks. Enjoy your new watch Adrian.
Speedmaster 3592.50 from 80s/90s is my vintage grail. Would recommend!
It looks fantastic mate! I would love a video of you delving into some more vintage style pieces. With regards to sponsored videos, it’s natural for great content creators to grow and expand on the quality of their videos - I still love this channel and understand that sponsored posts pay the bills! Keep it up 👍
Love the vintage vibe of that Turn-o-graph! Nicely done! My next grail might be a vintage Day-Date.
Well deserved ! Enjoy it ! And for your next grail watch, I happen to know someone who's got a Blackout 😉😉
Even tho I have loved all the AET stuff (very good) I originally followed you for your love of vintage (like myself)
Welcome back ! 👊🏼🙏
One of your grails is a Speedmaster. If you can find a good 145.068… if not any with caliber 861, and nice patina (before 1995) seems for you. 😎
Personally I like the crisp white lume but also the 861 caliber. So I looked and found one built after 1995 but before the introduction of the 1861 caliber. 🤩
A big congrats! It’s a real beauty. I have a 16264 and it is no way near as beautiful as yours.
Have a look at the 3594.50 speedy. It’s more dynamic and elegant than the new one imo
I’m too am struggling with the hard jumpy cuts every few seconds, but happy to play along with the new look. Cheers!
I’ve always loved the turn-o-graph. The only thing that has kept me from buying one is I have larger wrists and it looks a bit too small when I’m wearing it. Congrats!
stunning. my grail watch (afordable) is a Rolex DJ in gold from the 60's or 70's .
As always - a great edit. The Rolex looks great and has had just enough life experiences. (Very Interesting information on Ebay's authenticity service.)
I sold my Dad's gold Omega 'constellation' to my brother many years ago (In a time of need).
Nice one! I have datejuat 1603 with machined bezel and alpha hands from 1964, my grandfathers
I know people don’t like sponsored stuff, but this was actually cool to see the process of eBay’s authentication. Love the watch !
This is the type of content I followed you for!!! Well done and cheers sir!
I am so glad you got your grail watch!!
My obtainable grail, which I'm going to start saving for by late spring, is a Bregeut Tradition. Just love that thing. Wish I could swing the retrograde seconds, but that's a $10k upgrade, and just beyond my ability to justify.
