Man, imagine if CoD wasn’t under Activision and free to do what they wanted, take their time for development and forget all the micro transaction bullshit.
Micro transactions are a babies first go to for a dying franchise. Cold War is actually a game built off the bones of another devs cancelled title. We know this was originally a sledgehammer game originally and Treyarch was told to take over. We basically got a half baked game built off someone else’s framework. Like, the guns look bad, sound bad, feel mediocre, the campaign is okay, the zombies is fun. But the core of the game which is multiplayer is this rushed mess of a game and you can tell how much that mess affected every other aspect of the game. Such a bonehead move from Activison and Treyarch removing James Burns even though he MADE woods, this new actor is trying to impersonate everything about him.
You know what’s cool? Detective work. I really hope they implement it in future games. I love the idea that certain missions are hidden or unlocked by combinations of evidence examined/notes taken. Maybe a notebook or poster board mechanic that lets you compile and connect your evidence on your own so they game knows when to unlock what missions? And if they trickle this all the way down the game could have like 50 alternate endings.
I found the detective parts to be awful in this game. Keep that stuff out of future Cod games and reserve it for key moments in cutscenes and actions where you piece together the story. Collectibles shouldn't restrict normal game progress, sorry
Yes I completely agree with you, had a blast being a detective and wished there was more, wish there was more dialogue I could say. Just make it a rpg atp i want a fallout like COD
The campaign was made entirely by Raven's Software , and that really shows how good that team is, i hope Activision gives them more games next, or more CoD campaigns.

The campaign was always good but the addition of more content/replay ability to multiplayer and more content to zombies as well as all the bug fixes really make this game good
This still stacks up as one of my favorite cods in the series. The campaign had an amazing story with cool new mechanics and the return of branching storylines, zombies was one of the best iterations I've seen, and although a bit devisive with a fucked sbmm system, the multi-player was fun(at times) too.
@@user-rc6nb1iq8b . The older ones are above this one by a large margin. This one was underwhelming and it all felt rushed. I was in the minority that didn't care to see Hudson, Woods, or Mason here. I would have preferred to have played as a Russian soldier working for the USSR and to have played as Bell the other parts of the game. The new characters seemed interesting and yet we barely had any time to get to know them. I thought that Simms would get more screen time, especially since he was a Vietnam Special Ops soldier, but nope. He seemed interesting as did Parks.
@@Deadsea_1993 Plus the cracking codes and detective work stuff I feel was pretty underused, only two sidequests in the entirety of the campaign. Good campaign but not as impactful as some of the other BO games.
Black ops biggest issue imo was they were never fully committed to their cool ideas. Shit like side missions and choices effecting the plot they are always too afraid to go full swing at it
@@Asmeenradee It’s not it’s Activision’s because they fired Sledgehammer from making this year’s Call of Duty which kinda makes it understandable since Sledgehammer did a mediocre job with WW2 but that doesn’t excuse Activision on why did they force Treyarch to make the game in a entire year since October or November depending on when did they start development last year. They were so desperate for money that they knew CoD fans would buy the game.
@@electricnova2256 And for some odd reason, i still like WW2 multiplayer from time to time.. It has a certain 'thing' that makes me come back to it every now and then.
I actually love this game, first game after mw3 that i can spent hours and hours on it without getting bored. The campaign is great imo…the multiplayer has the nostalgic feeling of bo 1 and 2 mixed…I think that this game will have a great value after 4-5 years od its release. Its ageing like a fine wine so far
i genuinely don't understand how Burger Town from the campaign wasn't converted into a multiplayer map. That map would've been the best at launch and one of the coolest maps we have ever had. What a shame.
Wait for it to be a purchasable DLC. EDIT: I assumed they were going to charge you for a DLC, that's how I remember they always doing that from WaW. Now I understand that they won't charge, and that's awesome.
Another cool little detail is that Adler will spy on your and watch you from a distance if you go into the film room. If you look at him he will pretend to be busy or not looking at you. When you finish the game you will understand why that’s cool.
@@Redman_real Simple, but very effective and clever foreshadowing that you might not notice on your first playthrough, even if you *do* catch Adler watching you.
the campaign was too garbage and wasted waaaaay too much potential where is menendez buildup? What happened to weaver? Why wasn’t he on bo2? Oh wait don’t tell me he is in fucking zombies🤦🏻🤦🏻🤦🏻🤦🏻🤦🏻 mason and woods were nothing like how they used to be campaign was too short the villain was too garbage characters had nothing to do with bo2 multiplayer was literally the same as mw2019 useless soulless operator system, shameless gunsmith system and here i thought it would just like bo1’s with wager matches on multiplayer but no its just mw2019 clone dont even get me started on how mid zombies were they did exactly opposite of what fans wanted he wanted cool maps great characters like bo3 but no we got some soulless rip off un original zombies and your clown ass is here saying it is good
Considering what games came after this one, I can safely say that this game is much more enjoyable to play than the three games right after this one. I thought Multiplayer was quite solid and it’s at least enjoyable (Though the Scorestreak system is pretty ass), and I got a ton of hours on zombies because I liked it more than BO4 zombies.
Acting bell male was one of the bravest men I have ever met, the wound he sustained ensuring our victory should have earned him a heroes welcome in America. But Adler had little need for heroes
12:45 Adler actually changes his line every single time, the first play though he said that he got the scar from a fall, the second a tiger. Pretty cool attention to detail.
I hated Adler, I could smell the bullshit early in and after finding out he betrays you(Bell) I had great joy in the mission "Ashes to Ashes" where you nuke everything. Fun ending let me tell you.
Another Easter egg from “echos of a Cold War” if mason inspects a body with crossbow bolts in him mason would say crossbow bolts? If you recall you had a crossbow for that mission
Imo, Juggernog and Stamin-up being Crutch Perks in zombies literally does not matter when you can have EVERY Perk. The main problem, at least to me, is that a crutch perk meant you could have less variety, because you were ALWAYS gonna take that perk, so in reality with Juggernog, it felt like you had 250 health and only 3 perk slots. But, if there is no perk limit, It doesn't really matter, and I absolutely love it.
“Elevator conversation always gets awkward” “You’re right about that Adler” *Remember, no Russian* As a person who played modern warfare 2 remastered I felt this on an emotional level
had a chance to say As a person who played MW2 back in 09 and still do.......but you ruined it......however this is where I come in As a person who played MW2 back in 09 and keeps playing it nowadays I can say that everytime No Russian came up I FUCKING SHOT THEM lmfao although once I did not to see if i would get a reward like a calling card etc etc

This still stacks up as one of my favorite cods in the series. The campaign had an amazing story with cool new mechanics and the return of branching storylines, zombies was one of the best iterations I've seen, and although a bit devisive with a fucked sbmm system, the multi-player was fun(at times) too.
Time for you to go back and play some of the older games I think
