But I definitely found the interview disappointing and lacking. The audience seemed like they wanted laughs and comedy, and kinda like Stephen was trying to give it to them. Tonight's interview however, at first the audience tried to laugh but quickly gave up because it was apparent that the subject was being treated seriously, and they sat silently engaged for most of the interview. I could have watched them go over this for at least an hour. Anyway I can't speak to why the Colbert interview missed the mark but I was glad to see this one tonight. And I look forward to reading the book.

I've seen so much hate towards Trevor Noah after his announcement, and for all those who don't think he's as funny or whatever as Jon Stewart (which is already a ridiculous comparison), he is one of the best interviewers out there. Knowledgeable, prepared, ready to improv. He's like Kara swisher plus Howard stern. Improv plus comedy plus real

They are just internet trolls .trevor is well loved international comedian who is at the top of his game and he wants to leave this show coz it isn't serving him anymore but he has still contract with paramount global so he will be in the USA for long time until he becomes US citizen 😉 Hopefully soon

People forget that as humans we are unique and have different choices. Same with comedy. Everyone can have their own choice of comedians they enjoy. I love Trevor Noah for so many reasons.
Anyway I just don't get that people think that the world wants to know about their negative opinion of someone's profession. If you don't like someone that's fine. Unless what they are doing is evil you can just move on without letting the world know. But to come to his UA-cam videos and reply to comments to voice your dislike, why?

Whatever anybody thinks of Maggie Haberman aside, I'll just say this: Trevor Noah is one of the best interviewers in the business. Yes, his stock in trade is comedy--but he clearly, thoroughly, researches his subjects and their activities. He's so smart, and he asks insightful questions. Even Haberman is a little surprised at how knowledgeable Trevor is about her book (12:56). We are really going to miss his contributions when he leaves The Daily Show. I hope he lands someplace where he can make even half as big an impact.

To understand the bunker baby, you just need to have grown up in a city where people easily recognize a con-artist. I'm not even joking when I say this; one way you can tell a conman from literally a block away, is they are constantly patting some invisible object between their hands when speaking. That's not a bunker baby thing, it's specific to con-artists. When a person is refuting something, their palms go outward in a "warding off" gesture, when they are accepting something, the palms will turn inward, or upward in a gesture of acceptance, and when they are creating something out of nothing (aka, lying), they will pat, knead, and mold the thin air with palms facing each other. It's where the term "making it up out of thin air" comes from.
Anyway, I think this is one of the main reasons the bunker baby can hardly fool anyone who grew up in a city where learning to spot a con-artist is a survival skill, as compared to many rural folk who historically are far more easily taken in by snake-oil and the like. It's why they themselves coined the term "fast talking city slicker."
Edit: that's not a criticism of city versus rural, it's merely observation. There are positives and negatives to most things in life, it's just that where there are more people, people learn more because they have more interactions with a much larger amount and larger variety of other people. The same person can grow up in either place and end up with a very different skill set.
