Butker's mother, Elizabeth Butker, is a medical physicist at Emory University in Atlanta. She has been at the university since 1988 and works in Emory's Winship Department of Radiation Oncology. Keller spent as much as 35 years as a medical physicist at the prestigious Winship Cancer Institute of Emory University in Atlanta. She earned a bachelor's degree in chemistry in 1985 and later earned a master's.
While blazing a career in physics, Keller raised two children, including Harrison and his older sister Charlotte, who played soccer at Emory. All that completely contradicts Butker's view that women should focus on marriage and raising a family rather than enjoying productive careers like their male counterparts.
Butker never said women should focus on marriage and raising a family rather than enjoying productive careers. Implicit in his question "How many of you are sitting here now about to cross this stage and are thinking about *all the promotions and titles you are going to get in your career?"* is the assumption these women will have careers. There is simply no way to square that with your claim that Butker was saying women should not careers.
The pathetic and hateful attempts to use this man's mother to bash him are self-defeating. The mere fact that she is Butker's *mother* completely destroys this argument. Butker literally said *"Some of you may go on to lead successful careers in the world,* but I would venture to guess that the majority of you are most excited about your marriage and the children you will bring into this world." @@HappinessDIY Sorry, I’ll make sure I leave my comments about this issue on videos that are completely unrelated. Lol What are you even talking about anyway? Didn’t understand Jon’s message, huh?
@@HappinessDIY Doesn't invalidate the point at all. Or do you think this comment somehow put liberals over the edge?
the republicans and conservatives are THE projectionists. Just watch trump complain about someone like "crooked Hilary" when he's the biggest crook of the millennium !
And the people that need to see this segment, never will. What a country we’ve become…
If they saw it, they'd probably call it communist woke propaganda while not understanding one iota of what communism, woke, and propaganda are.
Oh, they will. Just...
Countdown to protestations of'Trump Derangement Syndrome' in 3...2...1...
But they will come here to post nonsense and argue without actually watching
Jon, America needs you every single day.
Absolutely all what’s happening presented with humor and charm👏
Wait, I thought Fox News hated the Chiefs. Weren’t they all saying they wanted the Chief’s to lose?
Nobody was silencing Butker, unless his voice couldn't be heard over the sound of a couple hundred million eyes rolling in unison. Beyond that nobody gave two craps about him then nor now.
@@MrBrock314 first I'm hearing about it and I watch way too much news
Had it not been for social media and this over the top need (as discussed by Jon) to be mad at every single thing, the Butker speech would have offended a few hundred in the crowd of this small, relatively unknown, school, but now the school has a lot of free publicity for future nut jobs that will think their school is for religious freaks. Not sure that it actually is.
Why would they have a loser kicker give a speech? No surprise he spewed such drivel.
LOL. Every leftie on the planet was up in arms about it. You'r about as out of touch as Biden is.
Brilliant, as always.
Brilliant as always
The best part of Butkers speech is forgetting his mom is a tenured professor, not some suzy homemaker that was kept barefoot and pregnant like he wants those students to be. Funny how that works.
Never mind that Butker makes $4 million dollars a year in salary alone (he also has endorsement income) and can afford a stay-at-home wife, while most families need two incomes to afford a home and all the other expenses of life in America.
Yeah identifying irony and self reflection are not traditionally common personality traits among the Catholics. Signed, a guy who was raised Catholic
Really reminds you how easy it is for far right propaganda to brainwash kids online these days. You know that's what broke his brain, since I doubt his parents taught him to think like that about women, education, and their place in the world.
Excellent show Mr. Stewart. You are in a class of your own and thank you for coming back.
America was founded by radical fundamentalists, who fled their homelands to start anew. This radical fundamentalism is now in the blood of every right and left wing person.
Getting the truth out, best video I ever seen about hypocrisy 👍🏻
Truer words were never spoken!
Jon Stewart is a shining beacon of sanity in our insane world.
For every such "news" he doesn't tell you about the actual 150 problems the US is creating world wide. These are not journalists, these are news readers. 450.000 young Ukranians died over strictly US interests, bio-labs they openly talk about, and weakening Russia, their latest boogeyman. Right after US founded terrorists and US created co*ona, ain't it great?
From ALL the actual news, this is what he's going after?! Did you mention those 450.000 dead young Ukranians that died for US interests only ? 36 bio-labs maybe?!?
As Benjamin Franklin exited the Constitutional Convention he was asked, "What kind of government are we going to have?" Franklin answered, "A republic, if you can keep it." 237 years have passed since that remark and MAGA has shown they don't want to keep it.
Conservatives demanding to live in a fascist theocracy is ruining America.
It was barely even a republic back then. Only white male land owners could vote at first. The right of non-land owning white men wouldn't come until years later.
Great show, thank you !!!!!!
Thank you, Jon, for speaking the truth! ❤
I used to call myself a Republican, but the party stopped being what the party was supposed to represent long ago. I don't know how people that still proudly follow like sheeple can justify anything.
Its just a cult of personality now. I don't even know if "republicans" exist anymore, besides maybe one or two people. They're Trumpists now, the lot of them.
I honestly can’t call them Republicans. The Republican Party is gone and a cult took over.
I still call myself a republican. I call myself a "progressive Republican. The party left us. We didn't leave the party.
My hat to you both above. That's how we all Americans should see it when the facts are presented.
same with the democrats. I've been a lifelong democrat, but this party has gone around the bend.
Thank you Jon Stewart for saying this! ❤
From ALL the actual news, this is what he's going after?! Did you mention those 450.000 dead young Ukranians that died for US interests only ? 36 bio-labs maybe?!?!
One of your best EVER!
I have seen this so many times its hilarious TY John!
"If you can't dazzle them with brilliance, baffle them with bull."

It's about time that mainstream media refers to them as a cult. Do more of this!
Noam Chomsky wrote one of the most important books on mainstream media called "Manufacturing Consent" and it is a must-read (or at least get the cliff notes).
Nailed it!!!
This episode hit the nail square on the head
The women on Fox News is defending the guy that said "why do you want a career when it's your responsibility to ONLY be a stay-at-home wife?"
They said while at home of course, otherwise that would just be hypocritical, right?
He didn't say that. You're allowed to not like what he said, but you can't change it to suit your agenda. Sorry there are people out there who would like to focus on family instead of money...
@@philippegratton9958 Enjoy your delusions. ua-cam.com/video/-JS7RIKSaCc/v-deo.html
@@philippegratton9958 He didn't say that. Correct. He encouraged more students at that school to make more white babies.
Butker’s speech sounded straight of handmaids tale.
It's obvious he didn't mean it the way he is being attacked for. He just composed his thoughts poorly and was naively tone-deaf to the crowd of women who had no plans for marriage or children that day.
How do you spell incel? Nitwit who wants a "trad wife" when he gets to wear his big boy pants?
Amazing Jon. Accurate portrayal. You are exceptional

We are not censored or silenced.
We are surrounded by and inundated with more speech than has ever existed in the history of communication.

Outrage is the engine of our modern media economy.
Yes! Bravo, Jon!
For a group of people who claim to have been silenced, they sure do talk a lot.🤷
As someone who tends to lean more towards the right these days I have to agree with John Stewart and you on this point. We need an open dialogue on both sides. Either side shutting down open dialogue is a big problem.
And annoying LOUD too!
And they have nothing but BS to say
My wife and I like to call them the loud minority.
I am by no means perfect, but these people lying and misleading their viewers continually have got to be tiring . Jesus said, "What profit a man to gain the whole world yet lose his soul ."
