Did Cecil cover that already? I have the distinct memory of a GBF episode with a barbarian individual on a hang glider, can't remember the episode name though sadly. Maybe it was one of those films with a ton of alternate titles?
@@Slysheen Was the hang glider ALSO the corpse of a pterodactyl? Because you WOULD have remembered, believe me. EDIT: just checked, he hasn’t done an actual video on the movie yet. Maybe it was clipped in.
@@charliefromstarkvillemissi1852 That does sound *extremely* familiar. GBF is my background noise playlist so if I stumble across it again I'll post the title and timestamp.
Best line: "I can't see...or BREATHE in this thing!" Also, lost count of how many different names for the bear you came up with. Great review as always.
Holy hell! I saw this as a really little kid on cable and could only remember a guy dressed as a barbarian fighting a giant spider on some temple steps. For years, it has been that movie for me that you have feverdream memories of but don’t know the name. Thank you very much for closing out this lifetime mystery for me!
Oh wow!! This is one of my FAVORITE bad flicks! Once I started staying up late by myself in middle school, this was just about the first cheese fest I watched. I loved the sword & sorcery/Conan knock-off movies, but even my middle school excitement couldn't fool me into thinking this was a good flick. It was such an absolute stinker, but what a fun stinker it was! Thanks for exhuming, er, spotlighting such an important movie for me!
I just got out of school, made myself some good lunch and as I'm about to browse UA-cam for something to watch, this videos pups up front and center, it's gonna be a good ass lunch 👍
(7:26) In high school in the mid-80s, it was "boola boola" in the punishment choice joke. 😉 That was in Michigan. I'm fascinated by how things passed on by word of mouth pre-Internet. Thanks for the video! I needed a good laugh today! 😃
Can't go wrong with D'amato!!! Btw the spider king was Dakkar (his real name), the dude named Lucas from Fulci's Zombie. He was a musician and pro wrestler as well. He passed away in 2007.
I hope you review more Conan Knockoffs like this. So many Sword & Sorcery movies of the time like Deathstalker, Conquest, Beastmaster and Warrior and the Sorceress were hilariously enjoyable.
Thanks Cecil for another hilarious episode. I've always enjoyed Ator as the silly film it is, though the whole spider cult gives it a creepy vibe. I don't know how the actor who played Dakkar managed to find the courage to work with all those spiders.
Another wonderful entry. Well done! I don't think I can ever properly express how much your show/channel means to me. Everything is good in the world, even if only for a little bit, when you put out new content.
Here we go!! Can’t believe it’s taken you this long, Cecil! A while back I asked you if you’d seen Lost Empire and would you consider making a GBF episode in honour of its splendour. You said ‘yes and yes’, remember? Am I coming over as needy?
"Until finally Ator slashes the beast and it spills Root Beer everywhere" LOL great line. Great review as always Cecil, I loved the sequel to this that was shown as Cave Dwellers on MST3K so it's nice to see the first movie is pretty much the same low budget bad movie but man what fun. Thanks Cecil!
I found out there's actually 4 Ator movies. A whole goddamn franchise. Some of them got released under 2 or 3 different titles, but there's: 1. "Ator the Fighting Eagle", aka "Ator the Invincible" 2. "Ator 2: the Invincible Orion", aka "The Blade Master", aka "Cave Dwellers" 3. "The Iron Warrior" 4. "Ator III [sic]: The Hobgoblin", aka "Hobgoblin", aka "Quest For the Mighty Sword"
Wes Anderson would say the Richie/Margot relationship was inspired by the Melville-directed and Cocteau-penned Les enfant terribles. Nope, it came from Ator the Fighting Eagle.
Little baby-Athor is so stinkin cute ^^ I remember watching this on german tv decades ago^^ both my dad and I loved to watch these cheesy fantasy flicks ^^
I seen this back day as kid it was awesome now seeing as adult it's kind of Age but it's still cool plus the artwork for the cover reminds me of Golden Axe which inspire me play The Golden Axe game at the arcade when I was a kid that movie was good times good times
I remembered seeing this some time in the mid 80s when it aired on NBC television was limited at the time before cable in northern California Sacramento and VCR there was at least 9 or 10 channels i knew it was a knock off but i didn't know from where this introduced me to the beautiful Sabrina Siani know as the Italian Brooke Shields also other Italian knock off Blue Island and White Cannibal Queen when she was around 17rs old
Lol just reaquired Beastmaster the tv show...after watching some Jack of all Trades it seemed only fitting. Gotta track this down too, looks like silly fun.
They definitely should do some kind of collaboration. I don't think there's other UA-cam channel content I look forward to as much as this and Brandon.
So Ator has the same origin as Moses. Creative. At least Superman shook the formula up a bit by shooting the baby into space and having the planet explode.
Ator, Ator, Ator I saw a pussy cat. Nope it was a spider. I mentioned it in another video but it's great to see you back Cecil. I hope you are keeping well. Thank you for the videos.
Man, nothing beats the badass art work of 80’s movie posters.
Probably thats where most of the budget went they really were that awesome😅
@@eval_is_evil and also most of the original script, a lot of the movie happens in the poster but never onscreen
All influenced by Frank Frazetta paintings. 60’s/70’s Italian horror posters are works of art too.
@@TOLW_LeviWallace Nobody could paint like Frazetta. He was the original, the genius and the best at it.

'Back in the temple of the spider the eagle is crying again' is how i announce my presence everytime i enter a new room
as you should
I like how the poster has a sabre tooth tiger as Ators companion, yet the movie just gave him a bear cub.
This channel is comfort food. You MUST check out “Yor: Hunter From The Future”. The hanggliding scene alone should have won it Oscars.
hahahahahahhahhaah Yor!!!!! holy shit, yes! he should look into that one.

I'm torn between these and post apocalyptic "Mad Max" type knock offs!
This video uploaded while I was watching the Running Scared one, GoodBadFlicks is a blessing
The fact that the broken shield is clearly a completely different prop has always driven me crazy.

I think I remeber catching this film on the TBS network on cable back in the mid 80's? Another fun job on the video Cecil!
I could watch this on Amazon…… but instead I’m watching this …… again. Time well spent.

I really wish I could talk to people who dislike your videos, just curious why. You put so much work into them and they're great.
Thanks! I'm not sure, I guess its just not what they were expecting?
Ator: I'm well-prepared, I can assure you.
I-Dont-Use-Names: What, are you going to use your mighty sword?
Ator: No, that's a different Ator movie.
Loved the Deathstalker 2 reference. One of my favorite dumb movies, I've shown it to several of my friends
Never even heard of this film but I’ll watch whatever you put out.
Me whenever I visit cornhub
This is probably one of your funniest reviews. "She's ready for Lilith Fair"
Always exciting/informative seeing your work. Cheers
it's what you get when your barbarian player maxes up charisma: Not a good fighter but all the ladies want him!
The Iron Warrior poster is AWESOME! Now THAT'S metal! 😎
The art for all of those movie posters is great. Also that little bear was so cute--I'd be distracted.
A John Daker joke in 2021? I didn’t think anyone still remembered. Best laugh I’ve had all day.
