This time we took in an old battered crafter and gave is a stunning new look in Olive green and black.
This van is sure to turn heads now and grab attention wherever it goes.
Big thanks to Damien for trusting me with his pride and joy.

Hi Alan, thanks for your kind words.
For a van this size I would say around 16 bottles of colour and 3 black. That's for a couple of heavy coats and a few dust coats.

Cracking job, I worked as a panel beater and I really like the smooth option on the raptor and love the innuendos even more, can raptor be directly applied to plastics i'r bumpers?

I do prefer the mid texture though, kinda like the Goldilocks ratio, just right lol
You can use adhesion promoter as most people only red scotch bumpers which you'll know yourself scotch pad doesn't really give a good key on plastic. I use 180, keys it just right without causing fluffing and no need for gimmicks like adhesion promoter. Never had any issues with it yet👍

I understand this is the raptor liner tintable kit and sprayed the van in the Olive Green color. Could you please tell me if the olive green tint added to each bottle, is the actual raptor brand olive green/Verde Oliva UPO4865, or some other brand tint? I.e. Custom coat brand etc . If other than raptor brand tint, which type and size was added per bottle. Other brands with same name "olive green"don't always looks the same. I Love that exact color. I want to spray my 2020 Mitsubishi L200 pick up. Was it 45ml tint added per bottle on your van application? Thank you
Hi, the tint I used was from Marlow paints, if I'm not mistaken it's RAL 6003.
I tend to buy it in the 5litre kits these days and tint a batch. I add ten percent to 4 litres.
If you go on eBay and look at raptor they do a full kit including tint and hardener which works out a pretty good deal.

great video! How much paint did you need for the painting? So how many liters of green and black? and how many layers did you paint?
Thank you! A mwb usually takes around 22 bottles, 4 black the rest in colour. 2 heavy coats to lay the colour and then as many dust coats as required to even it out, usually around 3 or 4 👍

Yeah that should be plenty for a mwb bud, make sure you use the vari gun though and not the standard shutz gun or you'll use a lot more and the texture will be shite 👍

Thanks, it acts like a normal paint just tougher, the rust would still need to be repaired first if you have some 👍
Great job. Piece of art. Do you advise a raptor paint on a new van? Is it best to choose a similar color for the van as the raptor paint color?

I've not been approached about doing a new van before tbh.
I always think of Raptor as the marmite of paint, you either love it or hate it lol.
It certainly would give it a layer of protection but you would be limiting your market on resale unless you were planning on keeping the van for years in which case I'd say go for it if it's what you want.
In regard to colour then again it's down to personal choice. If you're doing inside the doors etc then I'd say go for the colour you want but if it's just the outside you're doing then yeah stick to the same colour I'd say.

Hi, the colour is Ral 6003 olive green. It's not the colour that makes it Matt or gloss, that's down to the binder or lacquer. Raptor has a generally satin finish.
The tint is from Marlow paints off eBay, good strong tints 👍
I mix it ten percent tint then add the activator and then ten percent thinner, around 60-70 psi, thanks 👍

Yeah if you're changing the colour then you need to notify them. There's a section on the v5 that you fill in and then send off.

Depends on the size of the van and what you want doing. Somewhere around 2 to 2.5 k roughly.

Hi mate, you would need around 16-20 bottles depending on colour and texture you go for, cheers.
Please start wearing a full tyvek suit. Isocyanates absorb into the skin. Even outside. It's no joke seeing someone collapse when they go into anaphylactic shock caused by isocyanate poisoning

Yeah I agree, if they galvanized them like Citroen and Peugeot do then they wouldn't have half the issues. Mines 07 plate Citroen and rust free, a transit or Merc or VW the same age is usually rotten.
