I like how descriptive you are. For someone who has no experience. You sure know how to use common sense & figure things out. I have my raptor liner coming in the mail now. I've also never done anything on this scale before, but after tons & tons of UA-cam videos, I'm going to give DIY a shot with my Honda Element. I saved this video because I find it helpful. Same reason I gave it a thumbs up. Great job!
@@simplycampervanconversions Thank you. I have just one question, what set up did you use for sanding it? I was thinking of getting an orbital sander for the task, but wondering what grit or kind of sandpaper would be ideal to get it sanded down like this?
@@simplycampervanconversions cheers dude. Got ours to do when the weather is better. LWB sprinter with a colour change, going to need at least double then I reckon.
@@jakejohnson_ im going for 3 boxes on my xlwb daily which is a similar length and going from white to grey. If you use the raptor gun it uses more paint but gets a better finish a standard shunt gun doesn’t use as much paint but can be patchy with raptor paint.
Great job So was it 2 boxes or 3 boxes of raptor you used in the end. I’ve also just watched one of your other videos about the beds and that’s perfect for my setup so will be using that idea aswell.
You can get a smoother finish with a vari nozzle gun or by using a hpvl gun and thinning the paint down by 10% with 2k thinners. You can get any colour on the RAL chart.
@@simplycampervanconversions , I’m looking to do my caddy do u have a rough idea how many bottles I will need ? What’s a better drop coat mean ? Thankyou
@@michaellang5911 I would say 10 bottles for a caddy. A drop coat is the final coat when you stand back around 2-3 feet away and spray a mist over the van. Raptor paint is notorious for being streaky and a good drop coat helps prevent this.
It still looked as good the day I sold it well over a year later and I have raptor painted my new van which has been painted over 18months and has been absolutely hammered by tree branches on tight roads in north Devon and still looks awesome!
How many bottles of raptor paint did you use on the van thanks Mark 👍

Halfrauds lol love it
I've got a ford ranger that would ridiculously good in that colorur😂
How many litres of raptor did you go through mate? And how many coats?
Hi we used 2 boxes, however the van was already green so a full colour change could take a bit more as it coated really well.

Good job pal. What did you do about painting the rear door hinges?
I just taped off the rubber part and painted the rest, gave them a good scrub with scotch pads and painted.
@@simplycampervanconversions cheers. Appen I’m gonna give it a go 👍🏼

Buzzweld sell tintable raptor then you can choose any colour tint from the Ral chart and they also see the tint then just mix yourself.

How many bottles did you use
We used 10, however I would recommend using more as we did have a few patches.
How many litres
We only used 8 litres but really it needed to be more especially if you’re changing colour.
What was colour code of tint. Thanks
