Quick question. I've been searching trying to figure out how much I need to buy to do my truck. I have a 2003 f250 crew cab. Do you have any idea how much I need to buy, or if not a resource I can use to get the right amount?
I used 3 gallons on my 2004 duramax crew cab.
Bro that’s commitment! U went all in no cap. Scuffed up the factory paint to complete this. HIGHLY IMPRESSED and turned out great!!!!
Thanks Brandon!
The 11th Gen F150 is in my opinion the best looking truck ever. It still looks modern, yet it actually looks like a TRUCK. New trucks just have way too much going on, and don't get me wrong - they look nice. But the 11th gen is a truck I could drive daily, and actually use as a truck. They look so damn good, especially when you mod them like this, looks great man.
I think the 11th gen F150's will always be my favorite model of truck too. Lots of good memories with them and they look awesome. If I could get one with an updated interior of the newer ones I'd probably never switch haha
Calm down man, NOT that great
I have watched this so many times!!😁 I cannot wait to do my truck this fall when it cools off... I'm old so it's going to take me a lot longer😂😂 thank you for the idea this is something I can do but I'm going to roll mine because I don't have a sprayer! 👍😁 I'll tell you how it turns out thank you for showing me how!!❤️
I just wanted to say that I do not like how it came out because I absolutely LOVE THE FINAL RESULTS!! You did an awesome job 🥳 The results are amazing. 😎👍
Thank you so much!! 🙏🏻
You convinced me to raptor line my truck in drab olive green. The black on the fender flares and bumpers really bring it together.
Agree glad to hear it man! If you haven’t already picked up your raptor liner kit, here’s the link! www.amazon.com/dp/B01CKE7M7M/ref=cm_sw_r_as_gl_api_gl_i_H3EXADSXFX2RGMQ3JX9R?linkCode=ml2&tag=aslunsford05-20
Same color I did my lofted G35 #warhawk. Looks really good you did a awesome job!! Hope i had some thing to do with this color choice haha looks beautiful man 👏🏻
Your video was a huge factor in me going with the color I did. I was nervous the OD green wasn't going to look the same when it was sprayed but after seeing your warhawk I knew this was the color for me
The problem that worries me about tinting the paint is it fading over time. Even big name bed liner companies have issues with fading when the bed liner is tinted. I'd like to see it in 5 years.
I have had the tintable on my xj which is parked outside in all of the new england seasons for about 4.5 years and it still looks like the day i did it. even the inside of the tub has held up great with the exception of one area i knew would flake eventualy on the floor because i couldnt prep ot properly but even that took a few years to lift
Not sure what brand my boss used on his cummins but it hasnt faded after 8 plus years it is however hard to tell with sliver fading probably haha
We did this to a buddy’s truck and it worked unbelievably well. If you any rust damage, get it corrected before hand because it will show up eventually through the liner. But it looks really good in person.
Thanks! Luckily this is a true FL truck and doesn't have any rust issues or whatnot so there was no correction to be done beforehand, the product is so easy to use and the end result is better than I had hoped for!
was exited to see the final result. that shade of green has always been one of my fav colors and it looks amazing on the f150 nice work bro!
Thank you! I'm happy with the color, some of the greens I have seen are too close to pine or forrest green for my taste
It came out awesome, completely changed the look on the truck. Thanks for all the details 👌🏽
Thanks Dannis! I am SO happy with the way it turned out
Hey Andrew, this video is awesome! I'm watching you from Brazil! This color is fantastic!
Cristiano Effting hello from the USA! Thank you for the kind words 😎
THAT......LOOKS....INCREDIBLE !!!!!! Btw, I watched the grill replacement vid for my 04 F150 and it helped a lot to replace mine by myself. I'm going to paint my truck now.
Thank you so much!! If you’re going to use the raptor liner kit, here’s the link for it! www.amazon.com/dp/B01CKE7M7M/ref=cm_sw_r_as_gl_api_gl_i_H3EXADSXFX2RGMQ3JX9R?linkCode=ml2&tag=aslunsford05-20 I appreciate your support 😊
Nice truck! Exactly what I've been planning on doing with my truck! As a United States Military Supporter! I'm ready to make my truck look like this one! Great job!
Looks awesome. I'm getting ready to do this to my 01 F150. 💥💥👊🏻
But the man is a pus
Great work and well done with the video! Would you be able show how the door trims came out and if there was any overspray issues? I'm also very curious as to how the space between the bed and the cab turned out.
Hey Brent, I'll certainly be doing some follow up videos on the process and how I plan to correct anything I didn't like with the finished product. As for the space between the bed and the cab, there was ample room to get the nozzle of the gun in there so I was still able to paint all of the visible blue paint.
Did you do your door jambs or did you leave them blue
Dude... that’s so rad!! Great job that makes your truck look much more modern too. I’m sure this video will really help expand the channel. Nice work!
Thanks Luis!
I think this is your most watched video almost 300k views I remember when you posted it and it had maybe 1000 views at the time. Progress!
It definitely is! It was doing okay for a little then I remember one night awhile back it got like 100k views overnight and my phone was ringing nonstop haha one video at a time!
Wow it turned out AMAZING! I love the color as well. Awesome job! I may have to steal this color scheme lol.
Lol go for it! I'm very happy with the finished product
Do you recall what pressure you sprayed fenders at? How long did you wait between coats? If doing again, what pressure would you spray the fenders versus body at? Thanks!!
Hey man! Sorry for the late response lol…. We sprayed this at around 70-80 psi 😎 here’s the tint ale kit we used www.amazon.com/dp/B01CKE7M7M/ref=cm_sw_r_as_gl_api_gl_i_H3EXADSXFX2RGMQ3JX9R?linkCode=ml2&tag=aslunsford05-20
That's awesome, pretty damn unique also💪🏻👍🏻
Put the fender badges back to black. I think it would be good.
rcsix3rd I do agree I would plasti dip the fender badges to have a nice black accent that matches the rest of the black on the truck. Especially to match the front.
The fender flares may go back to black, good thing about raptor liner is you can scuff it up and spray paint right over it. Still kicking around the idea of going black badges again
Looks good, my 95 Ford bronco is “ Rhino lined” inside and out , and I love it. Here in Lubbock we get hail in the spring and now I don’t have to worry about it at all , just bounces right off .
That's awesome! Nothing like a nice bullet proofed ride haha I loved taking mine thru the trails and not worrying about branches scraping up against me
To be honest, it's not my kind of thing. However, it turned out great, and your hard work payed off. When you was killing that factory paint job with the sander, my heart was sinking. That's being committed to a project! Excellent job! 👍
Haha I understand its not for everybody. Not going to lie it took me a good while to muster up the courage to start sanding the body down haha the paint was in decent shape for the truck being as old as it was
One of the best transformations I’ve ever seen 👌
Thank you very much! :)
dang, I love this truck....
Thanks Randall!
Looks awesome! I agree with other comments to put fender badges back to black. Also wondering if you’re still thinking about doing the truck cap or topper as you called it. If so I’d suggest that be green with a splash of black. I see some around my area with a black stripe that really works well. Anyway I love your videos! I just did a interior LED swap on my 06 and took out my factory radio and replaced with a 7” touch screen w/Apple CarPlay. Next step is LED headlights and Raptor style grille if I can still get my hands on one. Keep the great ideas coming!!!
Thanks Ross! Yes, I am still on Facebook Marketplace every day keeping an eye out for a topper haha I'd love to get one, raptor it green but then put some sort of black roof rack on top of it and do some truck camping videos out of it.
Wow! Congrats for such nice work done!
This video is helping me a lot for the new project on my 04 F150
Thanks
No problem Hugo! My advice would be don't hesitate, go for it! I wish I would've done this sooner!
Holy hell that turned out even better than I expected that thing looks nice.
Thanks Nick!
Nice, now the only thing I would like to know before I do it, how well and for how long how many years this toughest car paint will hold thru winters-offroad-rocks-hail dmg and more.
@@soulofnature6537 I was wondering g if the dirt stains it. I have seen that cleaning the bed liner in my truck the dirt often leaves behind a residue. It never really looks clean.
Thats exactly what i want in real life. Awesome truck man
Thank you Ronin!
you did a amazing job it looks so beautiful 😍 that's the color combination that's going on my van conversion for sure 👍 thanks
Thank you for the kind words David! It was a lot of hard work but I’m stoked with the way this kit turned out www.amazon.com/dp/B01CKE7M7M/ref=cm_sw_r_as_gl_api_gl_i_H3EXADSXFX2RGMQ3JX9R?linkCode=ml2&tag=aslunsford05-20
I love this green dude!!! Good work. Later on I want to do my whole truck this exact colour of raptor!
You should! I'm super glad I went with this color combination
How has it been holding up for these past 8 months
Holy Crap!! When i first read the title I thought it said Olive Drag Queen. 😂
😂😂
Nice work - I customised my X5 and finished it with raptor (youtube X5 offroad beast - it's a little slide show), gets more attention at car shows than anything else there - will be doing more projects in the future.
Hey Glenn! Thanks, I'll go check it out. I love this thing, it definitely turns a lot of heads when I drive by. People love to feel the texture of it as well.
Nice job man. Looks great. I have the exact same truck (crew cab tho) and I'm going to be doing this to mine in the spring (winter's about to hit). My plan is to do mine in black, but now I'm thinking I might do a lighter colour for the body cause the contrast with the olive and black looks amazing.
In my opinion, brighter colors look better in contrast. I would recommend looking into some of the grey, dark silver color choices out there for bedliner tint. Those were my second choice in comparison to OD Green
What size compressor did you use and how did it hold up?
If I was to guess I would say a pancake or something with a similar cfm . Gotta use a continuous flow or you will get the results he did…. Where you have big globs then it gets fine and smaller from the pressure fluctuating. But I’d say 8 out of 10 people don’t even know what to look for and just look at the overall finish and either like it or hate it …..a continuous flow compressor would have changed the results dramatically. If you were to put another vehicle right next to it that was done with the right compressor you would instantly see what I’m talking about
Insane. Makes me wanna do mine 😂
You should do it!
Same lol
Damn thats came out absolutely incredible!!! I have a f 150 2004 , ima try to fix it up little by little love these trucks!!!
Thanks Alan!
Just need to get you up to Alaska and do mine now.👍👍 I'll pick you up at the airport.
Awesome! Dude...send me your email and I’ll send ya some pics of my 6.2 raptor wrapped in same OD green :-)
Looks good. Found your video looking for OD green and black painted trucks. Thinking of painting my truck this scheme and in the process of having military stencil lettering made right now.
Love it! Yeah there’s really a lot of things you can do when you take this route of painting your ride. This kit is definitely the way to go www.amazon.com/dp/B01CKE7M7M/ref=cm_sw_r_as_gl_api_gl_i_H3EXADSXFX2RGMQ3JX9R?linkCode=ml2&tag=aslunsford05-20
Saw the process. My Dad painted all 3 cars in the driveway when I grew up. It was cool. Surprisingly great look here. wow!!
Thanks Douglas! What a cool thing to be able to see growing up, I learned a ton from watching my dad work!
@@AndrewDoesLife Yes. So true & treasured memories and all those lessons & tidbits that'll stick with us. I got Dads '69 F250 now and it's gonna be good.
It's vamp time... you know :-) thanks dude
Too mich talking
Question, 2 coats? How long did you wait between coats and did you have to sand the first coat before applying second. I'm new to this.
a question I want to ask you after painting your truck with Raptor Liner, the paint does not lose the shine that remains after painting it, that is, with the dust and dirty it does not remain opaque, and later when you wash it, the paint raptor texture?
BROOOO THIS IS SO CLEAN!!! I agree get those badges back black! But MAN THIS IS DOPE! I love it!
They probably will go back to black. Right now I'm just enjoying how amazing it looks as a whole lol
Way to go, your truck ROCKS!!! I am researching possibilities if I take over my wife's tan-peach 2011 Sorento with 120k mi. I would want to put aggressive tires on it, upgrade the stereo, open up the exhaust, & I would definately want to Monster line it. My goal would be to get the soccer-mom out of it and turn it from a HERento into the SIRento. Best DIY Monsterliner job on YT!
Thanks my man. It was actually a Raptor Liner job haha but I appreciate the kind words! I’d love to see that SIRento when you’re done with it!!!!
Gotta love OD Green. Best color on the planet. Reminded of my old tank(M60A3/M1A1) back in the day. Great job
Thanks Jack! Once I saw this color I knew I had to do the truck in it
Thank You for your Service!
Thank goodness for those who have served! 🙏🏻
I have a white f 150 2005 and this is the paint job I want I love what you did! Iove that green! I really like the fact there is zero shine tuff paint job for a tuff truck.
Thank you Kim! Good luck with your project 😊
Bro, I ain’t gonna lie...I was sorta scared for you but that turned out SHWEEEET!!! You did a really good job!!!
Lol you and me BOTH my friend. Overall I'm very happy with the way it turned out
I’m honestly considering spraying my camper roof with it now. I bet it would take care of any leaks that may start. My camper is about twelve years old so I’m expecting leaks any time now
MigityMigityMike could be some good, inexpensive preventive maintenance!
Thanks for your hard work, it looks great. Thanks for teaching me I will try to do mine soon. Any suggestions regrets or something you might have done differently? Again, good job & thanks!!
If I could go back and do it again, I would use a larger air compressor because the one I had struggled at times to keep up. Other than that, this kit was exactly what I had envisioned in my mind! www.amazon.com/dp/B01CKE7M7M/ref=cm_sw_r_as_gl_api_gl_i_H3EXADSXFX2RGMQ3JX9R?linkCode=ml2&tag=aslunsford05-20
BROOOO that looks sick man it looks amazing I love it I love what you do keep it up man🤙🏻💯
Thanks Hayden, I got a lot more cool stuff on the way!
Can’t wait brother
That's awesome! Great job bruh. Found this video a year later lol I have a 93 ford ranger that I'd like to do a black raptor liner job on. I just finished putting in a new motor and trans last weekend. Just needs new liner on it now.
That's awesome man! A year later for me and I'm still super glad I decided to do this paint job. Good luck withy your Ranger project!
That is awesome man, you did a great job I really like that color thinking that would look good on my 05 Ram. Thanks for video
No problem JB! Good luck with your project
Nice results! I don't really like how much texture there is when you get down say within 5 feet, however further than 10 feet away it looks fantastic! And it should never rust or corrode now! I'll give it a score of 9.5! (I think I may have left the rockers and bottoms of the doors black)
Thanks for the kind words my friend! I love the way it turned out :)
texture works like dimples in a golf ball- he should triple the gas mileage!
pretty cool you should do a video on how to install Rock lights they look awesome on my F-150 I have a 05 5 Ford Triton V8
Curious to how it's holding up? I did my running boards and want to do my bumpers, but I've noticed chips on the running boards already. They were Chrome, I sand tehm down with 80 and used etching primer before the raptor liner. Have you had much chipping? Looks bad ass, by the way.
Hey Kevin, painting over chrome can be real tricky. Running boards definitely take a lot more of a beating from all the foot traffic so the accelerated wear isn't too surprising, although I still don't think it should be actually chipping off. As for painting over chrome, I did the same process, I sanded the crap out of my bumpers, then applied a self etching primer over it and then applied the raptor liner. Almost a year later and I never saw any chips or flakiness on the chrome bumper. I'm not sure why yours was flaking but it sounds like you did it correctly.
Hey your truck looks awesome! I’m wanting to do the same thing to my ram 1500. It’s currently silver. Wanting to know if you did the inside of the doors and if so, how did you go about prepping that for paint? Thanks!
I did not do the door jams. If I had, I would have used a soft sanding block to sand those difficult to reach areas and then used Tape n Drape to seal off the inside off the truck when I sprayed it down
Is the final shot of the truck with the 35 inch tires? If so can you make a segment of one of your videos with the trimming you had to do and the specs on wheels and tires?
I got a 05 f150 and I love this paint. Considering doing it but maybe a bit darker. Thanks for the inspiration tho
Just did my Chevy 2500 watched your video before and during for advice thanks I love mine it was so worth the work that you have to put into it
Great to hear!
I saw this video 4 years ago and the truck came out great. I came back today to see if your bumpers were chrome and if so, did the raptor paint hold up over them? Awesome truck 🤙🏼
After you sanded down the truck did you wipe it down with any chemical or just a towel?? How many quarts of raptor did it take to totally spray your truck?
I bought a used car last week and saw a xb done like that on my way back. Now I have watched how to do it. Thanks!
You’re welcome Kevin!
Looks amazing ! Great job on it man ! I love the way it looks superbadass !
Thanks Jack!
Hello... what size air tank did you use to paint the truck? I have to get one so I wanna know what size to possibly get... thankx
I used a tiny Bostich air compressor, maybe a 6 gallon and it was way too small. I would highly suggest using a larger one if possible
God i love that truck man i drive a 2005 single cab 4.2l so not as cool but very similar looks and youre a real inspiration keep up the amazing work bro! (also do you think we could get a vlog/driving aroumd type video possibly?)((if you havent already done those lol))
Thanks my man! You want to see my do a vlog? I haven’t done one of those before but I suppose I could look into it
That looks incredible! Simply awesome!
Thank you Mike! I loved the way it turned out
I like it when these get a little chunky here and there . My wife says its my adhd.... The close up shots are really cool. I hope I can replicate that with the vari gun I got in my kit. If not I'll get a couple of extra bottles and blow it on with an undercoating gun The truck came out great.
I appreciate it buddy! I love the rough texture from this product too. It's a super forgiving product to use for a beginner like myself amzn.to/3JvdIYc
This turned out great I’ve gotten my kit I jusy have to do it. How bad do the door jams and under the hood look? I’m debating doing a od green base coat before the bedliner so the jams will match
Thanks Cole! Honestly I never even noticed them. You only ever really see flashes of the different colors when you open and close your door so it doesn't bother me much
I couldn't decide on a color...Olive drab. desert tan or Olive green...this video really helped me decide. thanks for all the great info. Olive Green it is, on a 2001 Ford F250.
Sorry if this is a repeat question, but I wasn't trying to go thru all the comments and see if you've already answered it... All in all how much did it cost you in supplies and everything to complete this? Where are you located, trying to get an idea on how the weather affects the liner. Have you noticed any major changes in performance and mpg?
Love it! What PSI did you shoot the green in? Also what did you wipe it down with after sanding? Thinking of doing my truck soon!
Thank you! Originally I wanted to spray around 80-90psi but because of my smaller air compressor I wound up having to spray around 55-60psi
I did my 94 k1500 in the rustoleum forest green looks beautiful, I'll be doing my brothers integra that color as well. I'll be uploading videos. I just ordered my 4inch cowl hood and 6 inch lift, also a few more things. It's nice but it scratches way to easily with the bushes and branches and looks ugly so it's not practical. I'll be doing a review on that rattle can job for us who loves k1500s but at the end of the day I'll be doing this paint job since it's way better after I'm done lifting it. I'll be Giving you the credits👍 Thanks man!
Good luck on your future projects!
That is awesome you did a great job man. Hows it holding up as any fading, chips also what do you use to clean it? Thanks
i doubt it. i’m researching on this because i wanna do this to my truck, and raptor is top of the line. i used krylon bed liner on both my grille, front and rear bumper on my F-150 and it’s held up very well. the only chips i’ve had is removing my brush guard a few times (wrench handle hitting the bumper) and a family member backing in my truck as they were leaving lol (hit the back bumper, causing a small dent and cracking the bad liner) and i only applied around 2 coats on all surfaces painted, and that was just the cheap shit
How’s this holding up after the last couple years. Any fading or peeling? I’ve done the inside of my Jeep, just not sure how the Florida sun will treat it on the outside.
Looks awesome dude you should have put a stripper camouflage down on the bottom all the way around it looks great
Thanks Kenneth!
What type of sander did you use to strip the paint and what grit? Do you have a link to the sander?
I used this Dewalt Orbital Sander - amzn.to/38VUM3d
What PSI did you use to spray ? I heard lower PSI leaves it thicker and more texture. And higher PSI smaller texture
D_Cali_Life that is correct, higher PSI leaves a smaller, less chunky texture. I tried to keep it around I believe 70 psi thru the whole truck
Well that settles it for me. That is exactly the color i am looking for for my Jeep Wrangler.
What psi did you shoot it at?
I tried to keep it consistently around 75psi,. but I used a small air compressor so it was difficult.
I like how it turned out, I would have had hard time doing it though, I liked your color scheme before, now will be much tougher
Greg, it was really tough to decide on the color. I was between a dark grey or OD Green but I’m really happy with how it turned out. This kit is definitely the way to go www.amazon.com/dp/B01CKE7M7M/ref=cm_sw_r_as_gl_api_gl_i_H3EXADSXFX2RGMQ3JX9R?linkCode=ml2&tag=aslunsford05-20
Amazing job. I saw a wrangler done in a gray. Thought I’d like to do the same with my king ranch in black and gray. You made this seem so doable at home. I have a small compressor still in the box. How did you adjust the setting for each layer?
It's 100% doable at home. I was working by myself 95% of the time, two of my siblings helped out with the taping and masking process. I went with the same psi for each layer. I tried to keep it at 75psi the whole time, but it was annoying because the air compressor was having a hard time keeping up.
Andrew Does Life thanks
Looks good man 😮👍 I like it!
Nice job! Defenetly inspiring to do raptor ourselves to our own vehicles! Thank you for good video mate!
Thank you! It's a difficult but really rewarding project
@@AndrewDoesLife Yes defenetly. I actually got my vehicle raptored as well in blackmatte but not by me. I did my bicycle myself and I am pretty happy with my work and kinda dissapointed with vehicle and thinking of doing raptor to my car myself in future!
Props man for doing all of that work. Your results are fantastic.
Thank you! Next time I will definitely enlist some help though lol
I just lifted my crown Vic and I’m building it for off-road, was gonna plasti dip it but you changed my mind. Doing the same color. 👍
Let’s gooooo! That sounds awesome
How many bottles did you use?
Swap out your factory antennae with a black bullet one ,would look better. Do they make red raptor liner color? The truck turned out awesome.!great job dude
I hope he gets it done tonight. I don’t want to wait until tomorrow morning to finish watching the video.
Lol! It took me a lot more than one night to get this project done ;)
Andrew Does Life no doubt. It’s a big job 👍
Hey, that's my truck :) Always loved Super cabs. IMPO, Super crews have too much cab to bed ratio. If you want an SUV, just buy an SUV. LOVE this color :) Looks great !
Right on Chris! Hope she is treating you as well as she did me :)
@@AndrewDoesLife Totally ☺ She's my baby. 08' with only 67K miles on her...... and a rediculous 3000wt stereo system, with lots of mids and highs, plus an 18" sub 😉
sweet content mate! The F150 looks amazing with the liner, keep up the good work!
Thank you so much! I appreciate it 😎
Wow, great color! The truck looks fantastic. Looks like Florida country in the background. What area are you from?.. Cheers from Fort Myers, keep the great videos coming!
Good eye! Born and raised Fort Myers haha :)
I’m not a huge fan of the color, but I love the texture and how it turned out... Great job!!
Thank you! Cheers!
Andrew Does Life You’re welcome, I’m thinking about spraying the flares on my Jeep with this stuff
I would highly recommend it. It looks awesome
Came out Badass!! I like it a lot, now you can dress up as Master Chief or put FURY like the Tank. Came out great.
Danggit man I totally should've been Master Chief for Halloween and pulled up in this haha
Great JOB looks outstanding my freind i like military style i love it so can i have info about the product color how many cout did you aply THANKS great video
So what was the total paint can total? The shultz gun fits on the cans? Total cost if you wouldn't mind I totally love the job. Do they have destroyer grey?
Hey bud, heres the link to the kit I used. amzn.to/3JvdIYc
I believe I used a total of 9-10 bottles on this truck. I think I bought 12 maybe but I didn't wind up using them all. This product goes a long way!
Looks awesome dude! Great work .
Appreciate it Big Jay
Dude your truck looks super nice!!!!! Great job!
Thanks my brotha!!
Looks nice !!! I did my 2007 f150 lariat one all black! Where did you find the grill with Ford written in it? I can’t find it anywhere
Thank you very much Steven! at the time of this comment they only have 5 left in stock, amzn.to/2LAbacT
Awesome video! Very informative and entertaining. Ever wanna go full time and need a logo let me know, and ill send over my portfolio
Thank you Mr Sinister! I may hit you up in a few months if I am ever able to make this a full time gig haha
Daaaamn you out did yourself with this one.The truck looks sooo sick!! Loving it!
Thanks Miguel, I really am happy and proud of the way it turned out!
