He is a very smart Journalist, and also a very courteous one for doing so.
A very good technique and strategy for success. Just exercising normal manners and courtesy when talking to people, instead trying to rush them on a particular point, all in the name of getting a story.
It was also interesting to see the full honesty and attention to detail that Arnold was coing out with, as he was relaxed, open and up front.

He's right though. If it had been that idiot back in the day named Donahue then Arnold would have been interrupted with every 3rd or 4th word. I still do not understand why Donahue ever had guests on that talk show because he would hardly let anyone say anything before he butted in.

A year later james Cameron was joking about this story at an awards ceremony for Arnold ("cinemateque" award show that aired on cable in 1998) and how Arnold called him after the heart operation with a catheter in his nose, to re-assure his buddy that his new film "Titanic", was going to do fine in theaters despite all the negative press it was getting due to budget concerns and late filming schedules. And of course Arnold was right.

I'm hoping to finally get it on record with a holter monitor or something because my doc will not give me a heart CT or any other more solid test to find out whats really wrong. First thing, you have been one of my hero's my whole life. You, Zane, Robinson, Mentzer, etc... were all my inspiration. I was 6' 1.5" tall and 123# when I went into the service. I have lifted ever since I went into the service at 18 years old. I got picked on all the time because of my small skinny body. 1.5 years ago, I was 265# bulked up a bit. I am now 65 years old. My wife's father died while having his valve replaced at my age. So, I am VERY THANKFUL I found this Video. it has REALLY helped me. I was getting anxiety, as I have at least, a Aortic valve replacement coming up. The valve is not opening up near enough. My heart is also enlarged from years of lifting. I hope I can return to lifting after the surgery. I could not stand it, if I could never lift again. Thank You for the Hope!

I saw Arnold in Sun Valley, Idaho Summer of 2005 with his two boys; yes, one of his Sons has red hair, the other does not but they were all in the swimming pool together with all the other families and guests at the ski resort. This must have been only a couple years after the open heart surgery, he had huge scars from the surgery but really, and this stood out most, he was just a great Dad with his two sons in the pool. Up there it is no big deal to see well known people everywhere. As much as he may have disappointed Maria, I am sure he is a really good Dad.

It's unlikely Arnold is wearing a hairpiece. He has more than likely had a hair transplant. A hairpiece is a temporary solution to a permanent problem. You will more than likely see how hair start to look better and fuller now as time goes on very much like Stallone.
Arnold's hairline has receded really badly these past few years though and I was wondering why he wasn't doing anything about it

He does not have enough "donor" hair on the sides and the back (to avoid bald spots where the hair is taken from) to have so much hair transplanted at the top and front so I would say it is highly unlikely.

I love Arnie and know he was born with heart issues but you cant sit here and say taking all those steroids that make all your organs and muscles grow did not add any affects onto your heart having issues. Every bodybuilder that has used steroids for a long time has either has had heart issues or bone problems. Just a simple fact.

I also went through aortic valve replacement surgery, but through a different procedure. As Arnold says the valve was an inherited congenital condition (usually a bicuspid vs. tricuspid aortic valve which over time can become stenotic), so it wasn’t due to steroids. Glad the Terminator came though it.

Arnold has great observational skills and his recount of the operation is very interesting. I am glad we didn't lose Arnold. A Ross procedure on an adult with a powerlifting background sounds, in retrospect, like a bad decision. Also, if the indication was chronic aortic insufficiency, as suggested by the elective planning of the surgery, this seems like a non-standard surgical approach. Perhaps the center where he was treated did a lot of Ross operations on adults. Now he has a pulmonic bioprosthesis in addition to a (presumably) mechanical aortic valve.

Meester , may i ask how you felt within the first 3 years ?
THey told me i'd have to have it replaced in 15 years after the surgery - but that's many years from now.
I'm trying to eat really healthy and that seems to definitely make a difference.
-- Hopefully you'll do well after the next surgery
