I have nothing but respect for him. He has the courage to admit that it was a mistake without casting blame. He has shown repent, asked forgiveness and tried to be in the young boy's life, not only financially but with time and effort like a real father does. He is an incredibly ambitious and motivated man. To come to this country poor, not knowing the language and not having family here to support him and becoming a highly grossing movie star and successful politician is an undertaking of incredible magnitude. So yes, he cheated and was caught but I've never seen a turn around like this. I have nothing but respect for him. He has the courage to admit that it was a mistake without casting blame. He has shown repent, asked forgiveness and tried to be in the young boy's life, not only financially but with time and effort like a real father does. He is an incredibly ambitious and motivated man. To come to this country poor, not knowing the language and not having family here to support him and becoming a highly grossing movie star and successful politician is an undertaking of incredible magnitude. So yes, he cheated and was caught but I've never seen a turn around like this. I hope that in time he is forgiven, that his children give him the respect and love he deserves and they all go on to do good things in life. I was married to a coward who cheated on me, denied it, lied to his entire family. Finally when they saw the proof and he could no longer deflect he packed his car and left me for someone he had seen a handful of times. He allowed the bank to foreclose on our home and went into hiding. To this day he has not made peace with his children. Still lies and bends the facts, but hey, some people are just lousy human beings. So my respect to Schwarzenegger for being honest.

Arnold is a true man for coming publicly on television and telling about how he was wrong for what he did and asking for forgiveness from everyone. Even though I find Arnold to be one of my favourite actors. However what he did to his family was wrong, and he should have know that cheating was seriously stupid.
When I was in psychology class the teacher would say that If you don’t love your wife/lover/fiancé she will freak out and if you don’t love your man he will have fear of losing you. That’s one thing about Arnold was thinking about.
Some of his words reminds me of his movie Jingle All the Way. When he was never there for his son because of his commitment to work, and it was causing stress on his family. How strange it played out for real in his life.
He had four kids with Maria and was a busy movie star when they were born. He was gone a lot when was on locations filming especially in 1980s and 1990s. His two oldest kids were born and raised during time he was filming movies like Terminator 2, True Lies, Eraser etc. When was Governor he wasn’t around a lot either for his kids as was at his office in Sacramento
I have more respect and am definitely now going to look at this man in a different perspective, after listening to his interview. It takes a lot of courage to just admit to your wrong doings, but to admit to them, to be honest and so humbling in the effect that he did not place no gaslighting or blame on the people he hurt. Instead, he took and recognized what he did, how he knows now it hurt the people that were involved, ll of his kids, wife, the other woman, and others. This is a person that should be a leader!!

Apparently, Arnold announced his running for CA governor to Maria the night before announcing it publicly at which she was highly upset bc it was not decided jointly. AS made the decisions and Maria was expected to subjugate her life around him, his egotistical needs, and his wants. It was all about him. Some think Arnold's marriage is a private matter, and that he doesn't have to answer these questions. Here he is promoting his book, and so the details are important. A.S. clearly can't answer for his four children on how they view Joseph, and that response was appropriately pulled off the table. No one is forcing Arnold to answer a question he doesn't want to answer. I think AS is still confused, and lives in a different reality than the other once "family" members...his footing may be precarious at best bc he resists counseling and is disinterested in changing. Does Arnold love Maria? He says he does, however, it's likely that AS never really loved her in the first place. He may have used her for her familial status.☮️
