I love how Gojira always shares these videos on social media.
@Brian Morgan In most cases it's the studios and companies they hire pulling videos down. Some are dicks about it, but I don't think many artists care. The record labels who own the rights though on the other hand...
Brian Morgan It’s not the bands it’s the labels
@@bigjjohnson21 cause what this videos do it's advertise the band, i earth about Gojira from their videos. I knew the name but besides stranded (which is the most famous but not the best of their work) i didn't knew much about the band , now i'm a diehard fan
When Joe(vocals) was around 24 years old, he built a cabin in the woods and lived there for 2 years without any form of power or income. He took a lot of that experience, being one with nature, waking up to the sounds of birds and animals, and used it as inspiration for the lyrics from their first album; Terra Incognita
There's a little fun fact for ya :)
true music demands sacrefice
Are we sure he is not the UNABOMBER.???
I EMBRACE THE WORLD!!!!!
Thanks for the trivia. Helps give their content a lot more context.
Appreciate it. Pretty interesting.
8:11 that's one of the filthiest drops in metal I've ever heard, gives me shivers every time.
portishphonic honestly probably my favorite breakdown in metal history
Never agreed this much
It's amazing. I miiiiiight put the drop in Pantera's Domination above it. But there's no need to compare, both are amazing.
honestly the double kick drop after that drop is better
same bro
You guys would LOVE "Born in Winter" by Gojira.
I agree 100%
I know I do lol
Oh yes
For sure! I finally learned how to play it!
Both the song and video is fantastic!
Gojira shared this video on their instagram story!!!!!!!
on their facebook page also
Luckily got me into Lost in Vegas. These two are a blessing.
Don't you love how Gojira and LIV are active fans of each other?
Goiira just promoted this video on Instagram stories
And on facebook page
And on Twitter
And on myspace
And orkut
and the local post office
“There is light in this world I’d fight for...”
I don’t see any reactions noticing the fact that their lyrics are positive, even as they address rough and heavy topics. They write about serious issues, but also offer solutions.
This is what makes Gojira a notch above almost every other for me
It is hard to understand lyrics of metal on first listening to be fair. Great point tho!
To add up to what you said, just think of the "we will see our children growing" mantra in global warming.
Essential, determined, focused and courageous. It is exactly how i want to deal with such difficult topics.
@@Need4Needle Essential, focused, determined, courageous is an awesome way to sum up Gojira’s music.
You are so right about Gojira, they are (for me) the most powerful and sensitive metal band in my country (yes I am French). I often call their music "organic" because it takes you to the stomach and heart. Well, that’s just my opinion.
Organic, dynamic, orgasmic 👏
I guess they are the best french rock band ever
Organic I agree (bien vu), je suis français aussi, une fierté ce groupe, ainsi que d'autres assez expérimentaux également (Blut Aus Nord, Igorrr, par exemple).
Greatest thing to come out of France since french fries. LMAO.
@@neverenough71 french fries come from Belgium, in 1944 as the american soldiers came to free France, some of them landed in Belgium while they believed they were in France. And some of them saw belgian people preparing fries. I'm not Belgian but French....
Gojira has an ongoing theme in their music about Earth, wildlife, nature, conservationism, space, all mixed with harsh brutality through their lyricism and driving riffs.
Gojira is also the Japanese name for Godzilla!
You guys should consider Devin Townsend -Deadhead Live from Royal Albert Hall, and Architects - Doomsday
Nice suggestions. Hope they check em out
I think Architects is a "core" band they might actually like. It's accessible enough and has good melodies.
Another vote for Deadhead
Kabz - that's also what Godzilla represented to the Japanese. The lack of environmental awareness brings forth a beast from the sea.
The band concept is alchemy

Listening to music with you guys is such a good time! Getting this Patreon notification was yesterday's highlight.
Love metal reaction channels. You guys are helping the rebirth of metal. Thanks!
Metal never died
It never died, its just been in slumber
let the metal AWAKEN
They literally are. I was introduced to metal through their reactions. And I've become completely hooked. Especially by Slayer and Black Sabbath.
metal never died and was never in a slumber my dudes. metal has had incredible albums every year since it started
The Art Of Dying is what introduced me to Gojira. That song is just pure artform that you can listen to
Sleep - Dragonaut
Electric Wizard- Funeralopolis
Black Sabbath - Into the Void
Melvins - History of Bad Men
Eyehategod - Blank
Nick Drage Into the Void must be done
Gojira - Global Warming live in the studio
.... I keep getting that on my UA-cam recommendations.... Never boring
This needs to happen
by far the most beautiful song I ever heard! =P
Hell yes. I watch that once a week.
How about ICE AGE COMING instead.
You guys have to react to Global Warming by Gojira (live at studio)!
They really have! Right when I watched that video I was like: "those guys MUST react to this!"
They will be blown away by that video.
Yes!
Has to be done.
YES !
Such a great song
No WAAAAAAAY. Another Gojira reaction gives me another reason to love this channel. It’s a bit early to ask but the next Gojira song you guys need to react to is The way of all flesh. That song needs more love
The entire album needs more love
The art of dying
@@tomtaylor7284 they did that one
Yes! Finally found someone who also appreciates this song, it's actually my fav from Gojira :D
Gojira - Global Warming [Live at the Silver Cord Studio] You'll really enjoy this one guys, the video shows the band performing the song in the studio. Plus its one of my favourite songs by Gojira.
jjames e And that version sounds better than the album version, which is saying a lot since the album version is borderline flawless.
Cool fact: the video for Low Lands was filmed at their childhood home in Ondres just outside of Bayonne, France. Joe and Mario's mother sadly fell ill and passed during the recording of Magma and the video is a really nice homage to her
This! Please review the video of low lands too
Hi! I'm not sure if you guys picked anyone yet but I realized UA-cam doesnt allow messages anymore so my Twitter is @queen_edgy. I love watching you guys review gojira keep it up!

Hey guys! French lady here. Good pronounciation of the title! However, the 't' is silent!
Stay flawless guys
What a pleasure to see, as a French guy, you dudes, in an another country, enjoying one of the French national treasures : Gojira!
National Treasure? These guys should be your Kings. lol
Hey Lost In Vegas! Metalhead here. Those chords you liked in the verse are actually single notes being played. The "fading in and out" effect you hear is caused by palm muting. It's when the guitarist strikes a note with the pick while resting his palm over the string. This slightly mutes the note being played. Guitarists can create this fading in and out effect by changing how aggressively and at what position they palm mute. The same palm muting technique used with power chords (and some other chords on the lower strings) is what creates the "chugging" sound you guys like as well. Would love to see more Gojira on the channel, cheers!
Nice explanation. I believe in some older video they said that they would like to try to play a guitar, so that they could understand more about the metal sound.
They also use a very specific delay to get that sound. That's where the fading effect comes from, it's actually the decayed repeat of the original note.
John is right, delay is the most important there. Watch the guitar lesson by Joe, he said it sounds like crap without delay.
The members of the Gojira were raised in Bayonne, a city on the south west coast of France (French Basque Country). The surrounding scenic countryside and rugged coastline inspired Gojira's interest in nature and the earth. Gojira uses its lyrics to spread its spiritual beliefs and concerns for the environment.
Always excited to see you guys do a Gojira song, they're one of my favorite bands. You've gotta see them live
I love what you two do for me for this type of music. You guys make me feel like I'm listening to songs I've heard a hundred times as if for the first time. There's nothing really like making a loved music connection with someone and watching their face light up when doing so. Bravo!
Yeah you guys definitely still need to review those Gojira songs that you have heard. Still would be great content that people would want to see, especially considering those are their best songs!
From Mars to Sirius is one of the best albums of last decade.
I agree with you... They've evolved and now appreciate Gojira as it deserve to do... Please George and Ryan Do IT !!!

You guys always make me smile man. Your appreciation for something that might not me in your wheelhouse is commendable 👍🤘
Few things bring light to my day like how much you guys love Gojira. Keep it coming. Delightful to hear your reviews and reactions.
This is one of your best reactions guys! The level of metal content and knowledge keeps increasing! Wonderful to see your own progression.
And I intentionally didn't touch certain Gojira songs just to listen to them first time with you. And this was one of them! How good is that? :)
Fun Fact: Joe Duplantier (singer and lead guitar) actually lived in the forest for some time, self-reliantly. That's how deep into activism they are
Also, the song "In the forest" from "Terra Incognita" is written because what Joe did, and how it changed himself as a human.
I didn't know that and i've been listening to Gojira since they released Mars to Sirius o.o
Christian Andreu is the lead guitarist. Joe is the rhythm guitarist.
Joe plays a lot of lead stuff, like he plays the solo on Silvera for example
@@DrunkHeadbanging Not that it matters but for me Joe is the lead guitarist. Just watch live performances of World to come, Indians or Global warming, Joe does has much if not more than Christian

Rivers of Nihil - Where the Owls Know my Name!
Oh hell yes! I sent them that on twitter i think 😂
I suggested this on Patreon! There is no other song I'd rather them react to right now. (Arguably) the best song from (arguably) the best metal album of 2018. They should probably watch the video as well, for added style points :)
Great suggestion!
Such a good album. Both of theirs actually, sure the first one has no sax, but it is excellent. Where owls... Is full on exceptional though
This is a must! it also has to be with the music video which is a 10/10 😂
Gojira fact: They consider their song esoteric surgery the hardest and most technical to play live and so, have rarely ever done so.
Kind of ironic because esoteric surgery is one of the few songs of theirs I can fully play joy emoji
It’s their best song
Man I forgot how intense that song is
@@cameronsaunders1410 because you don't have to sing along with playing the guitar. Joe said that it's very difficult to sing and play the guitar at the same time live since the guitar playing is so technical and "off".
But good on you mate.
@@wajahathasib25 Oh I mean for me to try and sing any gojira song while I play it would be hell (and sound like it since i cant sing worth shit). Especially with the rhythm in esoteric surgery. Its definitely not an easy rhythm to sing with for sure. Meant no disrespect to Joe's opinion on his own work, especially since he's 10 million times the musician I am, and ofc, its his own work.
You guys are just fun to watch!! Love your vids man.
It's been awesome watching your guy's channel grow and your tastes expanding! Loving the descriptive adjectives from different metal subgenres. Keep it up Lost In Vegas!
I will forever watch a new Gojira reaction by Lost In Vegas. Best of the best.
It's the shit..
So happy to finally hear this song on this channel, the drop following the bass slide is one of the most colossally heavy things I've experienced live.
If y'all want more of the pitched screaming that you were admiring in Joe, check out Devin Townsend's performance of Deadhead from Royal King Albert Hall. One of the most impressive live prog videos I've ever seen, with hauntingly perfect screams from Devin. THANK YOU for reacting to this song, guys! Shout out from Seattle, WA! Gotta say, L'Enfant Sauvage is one of my favorite Gojira songs. My reason is slightly self-serving in that I am a drummer coming off a long hiatus. Mario's groove during the verse section, to me, is da bomb. It has been my drumming homework for several months and helped me off my 10-year dry spell Their strong and unforgiving environmental overtones make them stand out IMO among other metal bands that cover typical black metal fodder. Which I also like, but it is rather typical or expected. Best of all with Gojira, they make it sound GOOD! BTW, your pronunciation of the song is fine. It means The Wild Child.
Man you guys got me into Gojira.. I love metal, but more of the older stuff so these kindsa bands I don't often listen to. Now I gotta see them next time they come to Philly. Thanks!

Devin Townsend - Deadhead (Live at Royal Albert Hall) !
I’ve dropped this song idea plenty of times. Hopefully we keep pushing and they’ll break down and do it. I also think a few songs from the live at Plovdiv would be great. failure to show off the wankery skills. Stormbender has crazy screams. By your command is well, just a monster of a song. And deep peace bc it’s like a damn composers masterpiece. I say they do a reaction to the whole first disc of not the entire concert. The choir and the orchestra made the songs on the first disc so differently tasteful, I’ll never get tired of it. Bad devil! Failure tho. Failure From Plovdiv vs deadhead Royal Albert Hall.
I vote this one up every time I see it in the comments.
This is the definitive version of that song lol.
Have they done Stormbending? That song is the shit.

"L'enfant sauvage" is originally the name of a movie of the French new wave's director François Truffaut from 1970. This is a movie inspired by a true story about this kid who was found living in the forests of the Aveyron region around 1800. Though the song isn't at all about this story. BUT we all have that "enfant sauvage" deep inside of us, who has his dreams, his fears, and the need for other human beings. Don't know how to say it in english exactly... But that's a beautiful song. Oh and I didnt write it for the cap, I already have a lot and enough t shirts, hoodies of the band ;)
And gentlemen you have to react next to a live performance! "Remembrance" from The Link Alive 2003 is crazy, also "Terra Incognita"/"Silvera" from the recently broadcasted live at Pol'and Rock on youtube which is an outstanding concert!
I would just like to add a little detail about the story of L enfant Sauvage. The child lived amongst animals and learned with them. He developed certain behaviours that were proper of an animal, such as walking like a chimpanze or walk with four limbs down, mimic the sounds they make, copy the animals that surround them, in general. (There are other cases of "Wild Childs" found in other countries). I remember seeing a video documentary about this story in a psychology class almost 10 years ago. And most probably was that same movie. It would have been a reenactment or something. There was an attempt to make the child behave like a human again, and according to it, the child could only learn a few traits. Some of them seemed almost impossible to learn.
this leads into liquid fire so well in the album. one of my favorite back to back moments in music

I've been listening to Opeth recently and I know you guys weren't big fans of the songs you listened to, but I think you'd dig Cusp of Eternity. It doesn't have any of the death metal growls or wacky time signature changes. Just a really good song with a solid groove.
