also in Jaheira's basement there is the scroll that talks about some kinda shady druid ritual to essentially make her live forever. She claims she has not used it, but if you go into Mystic Carrion's ritual chamber under the city, the whole party gets a debuff that causes spellcasting to damage the caster unless they are undead - and Astarion and Jaheira don't take damage when casting spells
oh wow never noticed that
Jaheira can't get cursed when wearing Khalid's Gift and Astarion is....well, undead 🙂
Living pretty much forever is a hallmark of a high level Elven/half elven Druid
I think if you ask her about the ritual doesn’t she say something about it not being for her? I thought it was implied she was considering it for someone else. The reason she doesn’t get cursed is because she’s got her dead husband’s necklace
Sam's voice over content that isnt Cyberpunk is a surprise for sure, but a welcome one.
For the Tollhouse Cellar door - you can find the key on one of the dead guards of the tollhouse, near the river below the tollhouse. I think the body's near where you first run into Karlach.
I think it's actually on the floor a bit between the ladder and Karlach
Just hold whatever button shows you 'important' lootables after talking to Karlach (alt on PC). It's hard to miss on the way up to the tollhouse.
Yes, its like near the ladder...
Literally 500+ hours into this game and I’m still learning about stuff I never found. Thanks for the vid!!
truly a gift that keeps giving to us players
Same here
regarding the misty step amulet. if you make your way to the mushroom kingdom before doing the goblin camp. the amulet disappears from the chest and gets sold instead by one of the "scientists" in the mushroom kingdom.
Now that's how you write a spoiler free yet perfectly understandable comment!
Those “scientists” are a couple of my favourite NPCs in the game, they’re very loveable characters
In the arcane tower in the underdark on the top floor Bernard's at, you'll find a chair in a corner that boosts your strenght. If you break it to pieces you'll get a club that raises your strenght to 17, so not too bad for a dualwielding character in your off-hand (since it's damage is neglectable)
Didn’t think to attack the chair, thanks for the tip
Also great if you have no STR elixirs and have to jump somewhere, as you can pass it around between low STR characters
It actually sets strength to 19, so it is a tier above the Warped Headband of Intellect which sets int to 17.
Particularly good for Titanstring Bow builds, easy way to get a +4 strength modifier.
For the Glowing Shield. An alternate path is in the Shattered Sanctum. After you free the person on the rack, you might notice that they run into the corner of the room. Following them leads to a secret passage that leads outside, right next to the chest with the shield in it.
You don't actually need to sit people on the chairs in the tollhouse basement. They're just pressure plates, you can throw one of the vases in the room on each of them to activate them and keep them active.
Or just sit. Why does it matter. Sitting Is easier tbh
@@Yung.Ert. Some people have lone wolf runs where they only have one character.
Shovel, the Cheeky Quasit, can be learned by the main character by selecting the correct dialogue choices. You can also have a wizard like Gale learn it from the scroll, and have the MC learn the summon by talking to Shovel.
During the Tiefling party I decided to use Shovel’s Invisibility and Fear skill to scare Volo. I did not expect the reaction of the camp, so I won’t spoil that.
Ah now I want to know what the rest of the camp does when Volo gets scared 😂😂
A Kobold Looter in the winery at the beginning of the Creche is carrying the Ceremonial Mace. You can also use the Rusty Mace just past the room with the Guardian. No need to go all the way to the grave.
You can use rusty versions of all the weapons (so you can loot and sell all the ceremonial ones)
@@zoefarr2600 You can also just unlock the panel where the Medallion is stored, so no need to go and find all the weapons if you don't want too.
After you get the crest, you can retrieve all four weapons. So you can sell them either way.
One of my favorite heavy weapons in act one is a maul found in a chest in Waukeen's rest. Has the awesome ability of a thunder shockwave where you land after a jump. Not huge damage, but fun. Makes you change your combat movement
There are entire builds around this weapon. W/o going deep you can do 2 levels in Tempest Cleric, 2 in Monk and the rest to choice (I like to either take Monk -any subclass- or Barbarian -Animal totem Eagle Heart-) combined with the 4 items that deal Reverberation and you can jump your way to victory in any fight. Just steer clear of Friendlies.
@@benjaminjam666 Step of the wind is such a hilariously exploitable ability. The 2 tempest cleric levels are optional. Unarmoured 8/4 or 9/3 monk/thief is arguably better. Lets you use another dash for even more jumps. With stacked movement speed buffs that gets pretty crazy pretty fast. Not to mention the sheer distance you can cross in a single turn. The only downside is that it's a very braindead playstyle.
After defeating the Deva in the Stormshore tabernacle, don't forget to steal the Deva Mace. The way to collect it now is pick up the body, use a strong character, then search the characters inventory for Deva. The mace will be found, but is still attached to the body at this point. Select the mace, send it to another character, then drop the body.
Thanks for highlighting a few nice items that I had missed.
CDR Zaulk’s Everburn blade isn’t that difficult to obtain.
1. Use three chests to block Cambion reinforcements.
2. Wear down CDR Zaulk with force, radiant, and necrotic damage.
3. Surround him with the three purple glowing things in that chamber.
4. Detonate them with fire bolt.
Awesome. I shall have to try that, just for fun!
@@Jules_Diplopia of course you can also just go with save scumming Shadowheart’s command spell! 😂
My dudes; _Six_ tadpoles is enough for _shenanigans._ On its own.
My man Sam coming through when I need him! I’m 17 hours deep on my second attempt at a first playthrough!
What happened on the first attempt?
@@SamBramHe fumbled shadowheart’s romance for sure
More obscure is the Svartlebee’s Woundseeker - which you get by commanding the rightmost Flaming Fist at Wakeen’s Rest banging on the burning door before getting the spell sparkler. Great alternative to the Everburn Blade if you failed to get it and its effect helps offset great weapon master.
For the Tollhouse Cellar, I believe the key is somewhere below the tollhouse itself- down the cliff. There's a corpse that (if you use speak with dead) fell off the cliff, and there is a key nearby. In addition, you don't need anyone to sit in the chairs to open the door- you can just move some vases or boxes onto them :]. YOu can also move vases/boxes/objects onto vents so even if they're triggered, they will stop emitting poison, or whatever nasty stuff they secrete xD
The rope or large stones are good at that too, and are far less weighty for scrawny characters
If you blow up the Bibberbangs (exploding mushrooms) first, you'll destroy the Noblestalk, so make sure to get it first.
Just in case anyone hasn't already mentioned it you can actually get 2 uses out of the noblestalk. If you put it in a separate backpack in your inventory for some reason it will not disappear after you pick the dialogue option with Shadowheart. So you can learn a bit about Shadowhearts past and then give the noblestalk to whoever else you want.
Regarding the dawnmater crest if you pass a perception check you can just lockpick the hidden door and bypass looking for the ceremonial weapons completely
But if you put all 4 weapons on the pedestals it gives you an extra 1d4 radiant damage, so the trick to make that work best for you is to not get the blood of Lathander right away after dealing with the creche army, but head to the Shadowlands first (which will trigger a forced long rest for a scene with Laezel) and then once you go to the Shadowlands, you can head right back to the waypoint in the creche, put the weapons on the pedestal, go get the blood of Lathander weapon, then when fighting the shadow creatures in the Shadowlands, you will do an extra 1d4 radiant damage on attacks. Also the blood of Lathander weapon acts as a light source to protect against the earlier shadow damage, so whoever wields that won’t need a torch.
I believe you can use any Harper pin to access Jehira's basement. at that point you should have quite a few even if you side with good guy
Yeah you can get at least 3 Harpers pins throughout the game, even playing a good guy. I think I got them off a Harpers skeleton in the Grymforge and another from the skeleton on the cliff in act 1. The 3rd one was given to me my Jaheiras kid in act 3.
ah, that's how you get the magic Morningstar without bringing down the monetary... oh well, maybe next playthrough.
In fairness it's far less dramatic
@@SamBramAlso an easy way to slaughter Vlaakith's Gith.
Spoilers:
You can also destroy the 4 pillars around the room to prevent the weapon from firing.
There's also a power crystal off the edge that powers the barrier in the middle.
Literally on playthrough like….. 8 right now lol this and cyberpunk made up my winter
Maybe it's just me and I'm playing RPGs differently, but I found all of those on my first playthrough as I try to get rid of the fog of war everywhere and really try to find hidden stuff before doing the main quests 😅
Nontheless, cool video 👍
Not really hidden in my eyes but Kaghas chest behind the bookshelves in the druid sanctums library is something not everyone finds. Also in the grove where the druids to the ritual you can get a key from a birds nest which opens a chest that's hidden on top of the "Stonehenge" style rockformations in the same area (you have to jump down on them or use a jump spell).
You can also open the double door in the tollhouse cellar in act 1 with the key you can find down the cliffsite of the house (near where you also find Karlach) 🙂
Sam playing one of my OTHER favourite games of last year? A pleasant surprise
I’m playing an Ice Sorceress rn, and Mourning Frost has been my weapon since I got it at the end of Act 1. I’m in Act 3 now, and don’t plan to change it. I am going to take the dual wielding feat at level 12 to use two Quaterstaffs, and use Markoheshkira as well, but I won’t ditch Mourning Frost
Another way to access the tollhouse cellar is by using "speak to the dead" on the corpse between the building and where you find Karlack. He will tell you he dropped his key when he fell and died. After this you will be able to find the tollhouse cellar key by the cliffside. To make finding and picking it up easier I recommend entering the overhead camera mode.
Wow! Excellent video! Thanks so much! I’ve played through BG3 several times and I didn’t realized I missed a good bit of stuff, lol! 😂
LET'S GO MORE BG3 STUFF FROM SAM "THE MAN" BRAM
I concur. I’m on my second try at a first playthrough. I need better gear!
Very good one, i've done almost 3 playthroughs now and still had a few I didn't know about.
14:47 actually, the Ceremonial Mace (not the rusty) can be looted from the drunken kobold, at the temple wine store
If you put Jaheiras necklace on her (the one called “Khalids gift”) then she can unlock and steal from the chests at the Stormshore Tabernacle and not get cursed as her wearing the necklace means she cannot be cursed (but she isn’t immune to damage from other peoples curses - like the one in Cazadors palace)
I didn't think I wanted Sam to do balders gate list but I do
#16
The bottom cave ties in with the Mason Guild, there's a few books/letters that can be found in the tollhouse/mason guild/The Waning Moon that tell a story and lead to a stash.
Thats what I figured, as I tend to read most of the lore/books. Reading really helps to tie up seemingly loose ends. Also, in act 2 I stopped keeping every book. I still read them, but I leave the book where it is found, in case I need to go back to demystify an area. I am still in my first playthrough, and I am brand new to D&D, maybe someone can help me with knowing when to pick up a book, vs not? Is there a tell I am missing (other than those highlighted in orange)?
Oh yes, more BG3 content please.
BG3 rankings maybe?
I was thinking of picking up BG3 soon. Nice video!
it's on 10% sale on steam currently until the 21st on march!
I jst started maybe a week ago.. im lv 5 and it's worth it. And I don't even know wtf im doing really.
For the everburn blade in the helm fight. Just have Shadowheart use the command spell to drop the weapon. It’s a 55% chance and then just pick it up. Much easier than fighting him at lvl 1
the ceremonial mace for for the blood of lathander is on one of the kobolds tho? at least for me it was
Given the quality of your Cyberpunk content, I'm REALLY happy to see you producing BG3 content!
For #10, you can summon a mage hand to fly underneath the staircase at the bottom level and behind a hidden door to pull the lever to open the door. The Staff of Arcane Blessing is also very unique in that it causes Bless to affect spell attack rolls also, very useful if you have a character that is playing a support role who is buffing/debuffing most of the time.
15:22 - amazingly you can use bottle of grease or a grease spell to lower, otherwise annoyingly high - if i remember correctly - DC on a strength check to twist the statue. How can you not love Laurian with game design philosophy like that...
Oh yea bg3 vid after some time, yay
for the blood of lathander, you can either find each ceremonial item (the mace being held by a drunk kobold beneath the monastery) , OR you can use the rusty version of each item, which are scattered around and easier to find. both ceremonial weapons and rusty weapons produce the same effect
The Artistry of War spell is so good for a Wizard to learn. I almost rush to the Tower to get it. It's like an upgraded Magic Missle (higher damage and six projectiles) that can be used per short rest.
More BG3!!! :D
For the blood mace you can bring some bombs, use eldritch blast and magic missiles to damage the four pillars about the platform that rise up to disable the sun cannon. You get a funny dialogue too with Astarion if you manage to not die. Not as funny as if you leave Astarion to die but still chuckle worthy.
Reaching the bottom floor in the Arcane Tower is actually quite simpler than that, you can just enter from the ground floor back door (where there is the sussur blooms tree), walk around the elevator bit, climb the wooden stairs a bit until you can see a portion of the corridor below, that is inaccessible due to the door being shut from the inside, and use misty step to get in there and open the door with the lever. no need to go up and down and look for things and talk to Bernard
2:55 you can also just use the Tollhouse Key which you can find exactly opposite to Karlach after using Voices Of The Lost on the tollhouse keepers corpse which lies 1 step above the cliff
#24 there is a scroll to summon a Quasit inside the lamp so you can send anyone you want you in it, loot everything, summon the quasit and voila ! ;)
at 3:17 the Key for that Door is outside the building, when you take the ladder down towards Karlach there is a dead body, when you follow the way down to where Karlach is ther on the end of that small slope beneath the body is the key
I'm glad you are doing content for this game too.
My tip for killing Zhalk in tactician: If Command Drop works on first try then use the other slot to cast Protection from Good & Evil on the mind flayer, he'll resist way longer. Use caustic bulbs early for per turn dmg. Finish them both by exploding the nautiloid tanks near them (don't forget that you can move items before picking them up, and after dropping them down to spare movement speed). If you have a bard, inspire the mind flayer since he is the one in this fight that can actually do real dmg.
The Deva Mace is sooo good!
Fun fact: at the toll house. If you look around near the ladder up to the house near where you find Karlack you can find the key to that unpickable door.
Yes its finally here, Baldur's Gate content
Also you can loot a harper pin off a 💀 drow from grymforge, the one right by one of the canoes.
Actually, in Baldur's Gate: Siege of Dragonspear there is quest from Khalid to make that locket (Anniversary Gift) with Spider Silk and an Aquamarine Gem to express his feelings.
You can put any weapon of the correct type on the altars, if you want to keep the ceremonial weapons (they're just basic +1 weapons, though). Potential minor spoilers from here on out: Giving the noblestalk to Baelen might not be as horrible of a choice as it first appears but you'll have to wait until act 3. Letting yourself be captured by Gut and not doing (or failing) the rolls is the easiest way to... not have to deal with Gut nor her ogre.
If you give the Noblestalk to Baelan (or kill him), so she is single by Act 3 then you can get one of the stray cats in BG City to keep her company though. If you have killed him and given her the Noblestalk, then buying the ones off her is Once Every Long Rest.
That's right: 3 Ns per DAY. They have to be eaten though; no flinging them like Potions...
For #5, you can easily just take the ladder up that's right next to the waypoint rather than going the long way around the top - it also doesn't trigger the bugbears to wake up unless you jump down from that ledge.
3:01 the tollhouse cellar actually has a key . Just near the area u will find a dead body who was the tollhouse keeper and u can cast speak to dead on him . The key is located right near his body or near where u find karlach. Also follow the path down the stream where u find karlach, u will get the smugglers ring too
Just adding to this you do not need to sit in the chairs to open that sub sub sub basement, throwing junk onto the seats will work as well if you're lone wolfing it.
For item 4, the key is easily found on the ground under the cliff just before meeting karlach.
3:18 there is a key on the floor near where you find Karlach that opens that door!!!
never found the explorer's ring before. Thats neat
The key to the tollhouse dungeon is on ground near where you find Karlach. Press Alt to highlight it.
For the tollhouse in 3:27 you can find the key near where you find here, on the ground
I'm prepping for my honor mode run so this'll be good
Good luck :)
The drunken kobolds also have a ceremonial weapon instead of going to the grave
This video actually taught me afew things 💪
You got me on one new item I haven’t sent in 300-400 hours!
Very good...
As you may have heard no BG3 dlc. No BG4. But I am not upset. Alot depends on the mod support/modding tolls and how capable they are and how well they work.
you need to replay the game for sure, you missed quite a few keys and treasures
You went with Dark Urge Paladin? 😂 why am I not surprised
The actual ceremonial mace is on one of the drunk Kobolds in the wine cellar on the fist floor of the monastery
Holy hells, 600+ hours in and I had no idea about the illusory walls in Lorroakans tower.
I wonder, are you going to cover DD2? Seems like that might be a game up your alley
U can get two items from adamantium forge😅 One adamantium piece is above laughing amulet but the other is on left after u jump first ledge to the adamantium forge - there are quite a few fire mephits too so be careful
Also if you failed to get the guiding light, you can still get into the sub basement by going to the bottom floor and misty stepping into the hidden stairwell
in the swamp by auntie ethel theres the lightning gloves and there is also the lightning armor in the hideout under wakens rest in act 1
I was so thoroug in my Exploration that I found most of the treasures here xD
15:07 you can also kill the drunk lizard creature's and one of them has a cermonial mace on them
You can find the key to the Tollhouse cellar on the floor close to where you find Karlach
God damn it I red the necromancy of Tay with my Barbarian, but than when i entered that vault on #24 i think that Gale read that book, and i knew it had somthign to do with the first creepy book, whitch i kept, but I couldn't figure out how to read the final page, so I asumed that probably I killed the quest giver since I got cought sneeking about the librery and eneed up killing everybody inside the tower
3:13 the key to the door is on the corpse of the toll collector at the bottom of the cliff in front of the toll house
There is a tollhouse cellar key on the ground between ladder and where you find karlach
whaou ! Thank you so much !
The key to the Tollhouse basement door lies near place you find Karlach, just press Alt to see it ;p
in the explorer's ring section you suggest blowing up the mushrooms without picking up the noblestalk? i think the noblestalk will be gone in the blast.
Yes, apologies I should have been more clear. I was referring to blowing up the mushrooms for getting up to the ring more easily but for the noblestalk I believe they can't be blown up
I never got to loot the knife of the undermountain king when I fought her. I was so upset. And I tried pickpocket like 10x
damn i knew all aside from the hellfire axe. too much time in this game sdghj
if you throw a natural rock, it will explode dealing force damage and knockback
3:21 if you question the dead corpse at the bottom of the cliff close to where Karlach can be found which is a corpse of one of the toll collectors. He will tell you he had dropped a key while fleeing and falling down the cliff that opens the door in the cellar of the toll house. This being when you ask if there were any valuables. This key can be found along the path that leads to where you find Karlach. It's hard to see so you may have to use the key that highlights items you can pick up to find it. With vents you can place an object on top of them and this prevents them from seeping out any dangers. Also, in that vault they are only triggered by the pressure plate so if you disable it the traps can never go off.
wait the lavanther mace can be pick up safe, i always need to bolt out there because of the explosion
You don't have to make people sit in the chairs to open the wall, you can move crates onto them and it works, if you just go in with your thief. Also, you don't need to use the ceremonial weapons in the monastery. Any weapon of the right type will work. But you don't need the crest. You can destroy the crystals that come down when you take the Blood of Lathander. And how you gonna tell about the devas you have to fight after curing the curse and not tell how to get one up to 8 copies of one of the most OP weapons in the game?
There's a key for the tollhouse by karlach as well... js
Beating the Commander and the mindflayer makes you instant lvl 2 when you wake up. Its 100 possible i do it before every honor mode run
How do you climb the peak for #2?
In the grove were they are doing the ritual theirs a really sad bear right before him is a rock you can sit on but if u move it gives you the druid gods amulet I forget his name
There's a unique line of dialog from Raphael the first time you meet him.... if you are using a mod for a race that's not in the game.
What does he say?
@elenalizabeth if I recall correctly it something like "aren't you a rare specimen" or something like that
hehe you said spite the fiders at 6:15
