I made my wife play Baldur's Gate 3. She didn’t have any of it spoiled for her before I sat her down, stuck a controller in her hands and asked her to give it a go. It went surprisingly.

To nobody’s surprise, Square Enix have copyright-struck this video so if the ads seem screwy I promise it’s not my fault
You could take the copy writed music out?
Excellent basis for a divorce claim for your wife.
I want act 2 I wanna SEQUEL!
Just use the Heartbound OST in your videos. The developer "Pirate Software" said as long as you have content alongside the music, you will not get DMCA takedowns.
Square Enix has been pretty shitty about dmca strikes for a while now.
With 2 kids and no baby sitters, my wife and i rarely get the opportunity to go out, so when Baldurs Gate 3 came out and we started playing it together we would refer to it as going on a Baldurs date.
Haa! Nice. Livin the dream.
Ha, cuuute
This kinda thing is why I think BG3 is one of the best multiplayer games ever. People seem to forget that co-op is important, and I'm so happy that this game does it so well!
THIS IS SO CUTE I love it
This is just so gd wholesome! 🥹❤️
Man, I'm so glad to read/hear "my wife"
Truly!
Wasn't it "the woman I live with" at some point?
New Season gonna hit different when she evolves into "my wife of 20 years."
@@ZethisVAThat was different series from a different UA-camr about his gf\wife playing games as a noobie (I think that this channel was called Razbuten)
@@szynszylbojowy9177Ah you're right. I probably got them mixed up.
Who's you favorite?
Karlach
You just met her!
Yes
Unbelievably based.
His wife has taste is all :-)
"That's the baddie right?"
INDEED SHE IS
The right pick
Congrats to the bro, the wife is a keeper!
I like you, you are a cultured fellow.
Using silence to assassinate someone without them calling for help was smart, ngl. I never thought that would work.
Silence + darkness or some other spell that blocks vision is amazing for getting away with public murder
@@RatBoyDunce The fact the game accounts for those uses of those spells is crazy to me ngl. It means NPC reactions would need to take into account sight, sound and proximity rather than all acting off of one alert status.
Most games don't put much though into NPC reactions like that, they all aggro as and when something triggers one NPC - like the infamous villager attacks and bounty for hitting a chicken in Skyrim.
So many games make silence some unexplained anti-magic field so it's a nice way to be reminded it actually just shuts you up so you can't say the spell incantations, simple as.
Might not be a spell but "please help they're beating me up in here" sure requires mouth noises too.
@@RatBoyDunceAnd then you make the strongest party member pick up the corpse to hide the evidence later.
@@jakkandjing Or as fuel for necromancy when you need bodies and don't have any just lying around.
Monty: You don;t like Astarion?
Noobus: He's so up himself I can't even get a look.
I laughed so hard at this.
this was me for 40 hours in my first run and now I've romanced him twice. So relatable XD
dawling!
A funny detail: If you create a web surface (if you're a spider or something) outside the grove during the first goblin fight, Zevlor literally jumps off the wall, uses the web to absorb the fall damage, and smites the crap out of your foes. And then Aradin berates him for being a coward, despite him putting Wyll's cutscene to shame.
shit ima try that on my next run, sounds like fun XD
@@harleyemmerson979 Yeah, I had that happen in my druid playthrough, and it happened to snow black as well. Really cool and funny.
Thats such a cool detail
Zevlor is actually so good in fights! He helped me sooo much in the final battle.
that's so cool! there's so much attention to detail and possibilities in this game
"swapping gale for his own safety" the way i bursted laughing 😂 gale living up to every dnd wizard stereotype ever
I'd never really thought about it like that, but... "It's just Sims with a story" is horrifyingly accurate. 10/10 Noobus, glad y'all had fun with this one.
& a combat system
A lot of good scifi is drama in space
and without wallet sucking dlcs which is one of the best parts
@@tipfertool5457 - Some of it isn't really "sci-fi", though. Sci-fi is basically any type of fiction (drama being the most common, but horror, comedy, etc., is also fine) that explores *consequence of scientific and technological progress.* Unfortunately some writers / producers (and consumers) think it just means "random illogical crap happening in space".
Suddenly wondering if I missed a bit where she stood panicking four feet from a lavatory, only to wet herself standing up.
The noobus put more effort into her Tav's story than I did, I'll try to do the same for my next playthrough
Do what comic book writers do. Steal a soap opera plot and add wizards and goblins. Everyone will think you're a genius.
@@n.henzler50 Now I want to find mods that will let me play as the X-Men. Astarion = Nightcrawler is the obvious one. Gale = Beast, Karlach = Magma, Shadowheart = Dani Moonstar, Lae'zel = Hepzibah??? idk, Wyll = Magik, Jaheara = Storm?
Just sounds like a lot of fun.
Fr my Druid was just eating some soup by herself in the woods and BOOM. Tadpole.
7:38 the SWITCH from "OMG" to *"loot the body"* is SO FUNNY and SO TRUE. your wife's a natural at TTRPGs.
That's an amazing character she created. Snow Black looks like constantly a bit confused, frustrated and out of place. I imagine not quite unlike how someone who hasn't played a lot of games feels when playing. XD
1:04:30 makes me wonder what she'd think of one of the story heavy rpg-likes without explicit combat. Pentiment, Disco Elysium, Night in the Woods, and the like.
Oh god PLEASE let Disco Elysium be on the short list
wow, Disco would be crazy being done in this format, can already picture many wtf moments from her :D
I don't know, I feel like Disco might be pretty extreme. That kind of front loads the slurs and the sexual assault option (that doesn't work, it still)
@@rngwrldngnr what sexual assault option?
Night in the woods, would be a great game for her, I think.
This is unironically a perfect game for a twisted version of Snow White. This is the only game I know of that has sooo much you can do with talk with animals.
Hearing her reference Perception Check was hilarious.
"i have no doubt he is as seductive as he is succinct" is such an epic burn from Lae'zel
Bruh I'm such a freaking idiot. When you called her a noobus I heard Anubis and was like, "The Egyptian god of death? That's a cute pet name I guess " 🤣
her descriptions of the camp mates is so accurate omfg
😂
Ah the time-tested sacred art of "barrelmancy." The most potent and sought after magic in all the realms.
"Just Sims with a story" is soul crushing :D
never evolve Noobus, we love you the way you are
The silence spell for the fight with the priestess in the goblin camp was a great strategy!
1:06:30 Last two had me dying. I'm a big fan of the Stuck Up Cow and the Alien-Who-Thinks-Im-Her-Subordinant
Someone who takes that much effort to clear the goblin camp after so many game overs, fucky situations and glitches, frustrating mechanics and workarounds could not have possibly just put this game down after the tiefling celebration. I refuse to believe she put this game down forever! Awaiting the follow up: "My wife has been playing Baldur's Gate 3 for 1200 hours", thanks!
I loved ALL your Noobus Humanus episodes, especially Demon's Souls - but this is your magnum opus!
agreed, besides the noobus showing peak performance and the hilarious commenting, the editing just got top notch and the music is perfectly chosen!
I will have to rewatch this later. Quite possibly multiple times.
What an absolute treat. I was worried because a lot of the combat and stats/character building is so crunchy, but I was happy to hear she had some DnD background so it wasn't quite as overwhelming. More than anything, though, I'm delighted to see her embrace thinking creatively and trying things out.
Speak to Animals to ally yourself with the spiders and use an invisible mage hand to release the lever to unlock the gate? Amazing. Casting Silence to prevent Gut from calling for backup so you can beat her senseless? Grand. Turning into a cat and meowing to lure Minthara over a bridge, then cutting the bridge out from under her? Legitimately brilliant.
I'm also so happy to hear her mentally work through her opinions of characters. Loved her distrust of Raphael. I'm an "examine goblin", so when I saw that Auntie Ethel's infocard listed her as a Fey, I was all kinds of wary around her.
This is just such a fun and creative game and I'm beaming to see how much the Noobus embraced and enjoyed it. Great video, and good Lord I can only imagine how long it took to edit. We appreciate how much time you put into this, cuz this might be my favorite video you two have put out.
Speaking of you two, absolutely huge congratulations. I smiled like a little idiot when you called her your wife. Real cute to watch and hear the transition from girlfriend to fiancee to wife. So happy for you two!
ya, the DnD background had to have helped, at least with understanding the spells cause that can be one of the hardest things to manage. I can do it with 1 character in DnD but with 4 even I forget stuff all the time and that's not counting all the camp character with buffs and stuff you can do with hirelings (tip, always make a halfling transmuter hireling at camp and let them make all your potions, you can pretty much get 2 potions every time, and also make a transmuter stone to give away.)
so creative. my comprehensive strategy consists of
1. cast haste on Lae'zel
2. Lae'zel use pointy stick
3. success
I’m so happy that she played this one for as long as she did. At ANY point after that first party wipe, she could have ended it, but she didn’t. I truly hope that there might be a couch co-op campaign on your channel soon.
"I made my wife play Baulders Gate 3-"
Fully Expecting: _And I haven't seen her since._
Does this mean no full blown Monty Zander Retrospective? *_I don't blame you! This game is too big!_*
As someone with just shy of 2k hours in this game (and around the same amount of hours watching/listening to others play it), this is my favourite video of someone else's experience yet. I am new here, and from what I understand, full playthroughs aren't Noobus' thing? But I would ABSOLUTELY LOVE to see them play more of this game!
10 hours a day playing and 10 watching or did i do my math wrong? 7months isv300 hors per month. So it is a bit less say 9.
the editing is phenomenal in this one. Great job!
I agree !! Those montages are awesome, and earned a sub from me.
Bro I can't even imagine how long it took you to make subtitles for most of the things you and your wife said for this hour and 40 minute video. Major respect. 👍
I dont know if Astarians smooth talking skills is so great that it worked on the vast majority of players aswell becouse u can clearly se those red eyes and the fangs when he talk and still ppl failed to notice he was a vampire. Its almost like the game purposely zoom in on hes face when he talks to say look hes a vampire and still nobody noticed.
I've seen another video in the same style where a non-gamer is introduced to BG3, and the gulf in their attempt and the Noobus' is massive.
The other person barely even tried to meet the story where it was at and remained wholly uninterested the whole time, which led them to be bored and dip.
It was nice to see someone let themself be invested and spend time just talking to people.
Yeah, Noobus seems like she knows how to have fun compared to the other person
It's actually kinda hilarious how much stuff she found, that me a person who has been playing video games since the NES managed to miss my first playthrough.
I missed "Us" and the platform entirely.
I didn't find the paralyzed tiefling until like my third playthrough.
wait, what paralysed tiefling?
@@x_rhi_x2772 In the grove, in one of the wooden buildings close to Dammon and the little prison where they've captured the goblin.
You have to lockpick your way in, and there's a tiefling who drank a potion that made her lose use of her legs.
@@x_rhi_x2772 in the locked room in the grove - she drank potion of heroism from auntie (with a side-effect of no leg movement). You can cure her with lesser restoration spell (lvl 2 cleric, druid, bard, ranger and paladin spell).

@@x_rhi_x2772 In the druid grove, there's a locked storeroom you can find a back entrance to. There's a tiefling in there who drank an Auntie Ethel special and became paralyzed from the waist down.
this is potentially my favorite video of all time. i started as the noobus but grinded so hard on my partner's PC that i got gud and built my own PC to play it on my own. have faith noobus!
I love how inventive the Noobus was in this game. Playing BG3 like it's D&D 2nd edition: Fighting bad, clever thinking good!
as someone who has played an honestly unhealthy amount of hours in BG3 (it shot to my most played game on steam with 1000+ hours since release, and ~200 in early access, more than the next 2 most played **COMBINED** {Skyrim and CSGO/CS2 if anyone cares}, oh my god I need to touch grass) it's always nice to see someone's first experience with it.
also gale and shart are the best love interests, I'll die on this hill lmao
yes! Gale is the best
I love Gale but Lae'zel is eternally my character, I love that frog so much.
Nah, Astarion for Durge is the best.
@@dominika3762 durge/astarion is a good pairing just because both of them had the same writer iirc but possible hot take? I'm not a huge fan of astarion, he's too whiny for me
@@ZoeBateman fair enough, I love myself a tragic haunted character with good sassy lines
1:37:55 I mean Goblin Camp is like half of Act I, without counting and the Gith section but TRUE Omg It's so cool she stayed for so long.
I also found it funny that she left Halsin behind. Having a bear is useful during slaughter. 😂
How is the goblin camp half of act 1 when the underdark exists? The town, swamp, and road all have quite a bit to them too.
Well... even less than that. There's 3 whole maps of Act 1 (main, underdark, creche/mountain pass) and the goblin camp isn't even close to the whole of that 1st map. Act 1 took me a bit over 70hrs to finish and the goblins were maybe only 10-15 of those hours. No mention of Voss, the Hag, Z hideout, or Withers, much less all the secrets in the goblin village/camp. She still got pretty far though. I'd guess she played maybe 15-20 hours of content, with 3-5 more of reloads from failures. Pretty good for never having touched the game and how frustrating it is to learn it.
@@violetpatina708 Goblin camp took me a LOT of time. But I think I spent more time in The Grove because I was just learning how to steal everything lol. I was terrible at it at first, but now I'm in act 3 and stealing everything with just a fog spell!
She has the same attitude towards Astarion and Gale that I did my first run. I hated that smarmy little vampire ass and loved the dapper polite Gale. 40 hours later I totally flipped lol.
I only warmed up to Astarion about 150 hours in. 😂 I doubt I would have at all if I hadn't gotten Lae'zel perma-killed in Act 1 and replaced her with him in my party. It was the mere exposure effect.
That musical edit on the nautiloid was so clean
54:38 I'm glad your wife actually played the way she played, nothing makes me hate someone more than playing a game blind on their first playthrough and playing how you described it, and complaining that they don't get the story.
"I've got a stuck-up cow and an alien who thinks I'm her subordinate." 😂
Snow Black with a dwarf guardian 🤣🤣🤣
Honestly would love to watch her play the rest of the game. The joy of discovery and finding clever ways to solve problems only to have it devolve into murdering everything is why this game is so great, and its nearly as great watching someone else do it the first time as it is to have done it myself.
It's been so heartwarming to watch the titles in this series progress over time and I couldn't be happier for you two and for us for getting even more of the sweary Scottish woman in all her glory! Cheers!
Man I hope she keeps playing! It’d be fun to see her do an entire playthrough- I’m several hundred hours into the game, and her commentary/reactions are hilarious! 😂
As someone who mostly played The Sims (not 4) until I randomly decided to get BG3 when it came out, I'm glad UA-cam recommended this video to me. Your wife is a delight! And Snow Black is a hero. I'd watch her continue the story, if she wanted to, but man, I always feel a little sad turning that wonderful magic-eating wizard down!
My girlfriend doesn't play any games, but we played Baldur's Gate 3 together in splitscreen. She's now completely in love with the game and we're in Act 3 of our 2nd playthrough. Funny enough, she played a Druid too.
Good games connect 😊
Have fun together 🥰
Druid is honestly such a GREAT class, man. Might be my favorite along with ranger.
By far the Most Entertaining playthrough of Act 1 I've Ever Watched. I loved the editing and also the way her personality shown through her play style. Good fun.
You can get the circlet off of Nettie's body. (The gnome that is knocked out in the nearby cave also has the same circlet. Save him from the goblins, loot his body before he awakes, and boom - you have the circlet. It helps you get to the grove from the back door in Nettie's back room.)
Only an hour in your first char creation session? Impressive.
Wow, this was really well made. The music and montages were *chef's kiss*
Monty the editing over the fight scenes is excellent here
I love how creative many of her solutions were. I'm always somewhat willing to jump into combat, even with high charisma characters, so I didn't know about many of the options she found.
Another episode featuring the rare Noobus Humanus! Missed you guys
seen a couple of these gf/wife tries video games videos from other youtubers but haven't really been that interesting but this one had me hooked from the start your wife is hilarious and your genuine laughter just adds so much to the mood also the editing was on point you kept it very interesting from start to end
Good to see another Scottish couple playing xD I've been playing since EA release and I got my wife into it on full release and she loved it (she's in all 3 of my dnd campaigns so at least she had a grasp of the mechanics). We did a very similar thing where I quietly watched her play it and it was such an experience, she actually finished her first playthrough before I did xD
This might be the best editing you've ever done. Love this.
This brought me absolute joy today. Hearing you and your wife enjoy this game warmed my heart. So glad you could enjoy this game together.
Absolutely loved this new Noobus Humanus episode. My heart skipped a beat when I heard the FF8 battle music. Loved the editing in general but the fight edits were absolutely outstanding, the comedic timing, the music... it's just perfect. Also congrats to you two for finally being husband and wife :) I wish you all the best for the future!
This was great! Your wife is absolutely delightful, and is the perfect driver for Snow Black lol.
Me and my wife were so HYPED for this episode! It's great to see the Noobus enjoy this one
I love watching blind playthroighs of BG3 but it can be a little tedious too. Your wife's commentary and your editing are absolutely fantastic! Such a delight.
Okay your wife is super adorable, glad you made her play this game! This is hopefully a trend on this channel!
This is a very interesting video to come back to after watching Razbuten's recent upload!
They provide really nice contrast as the two ladies had very different experience and impressions of the game.
Love this video, will definitely see if your wife has tried any of the other games I know/like)
"Karlach's probably my top just now"
"You just met Karlach"
Exactly! Lmfao
This has to be one of the most entertaining Baldur's Gate 3 videos I've ever watched! Absolutely fantastic montages! Felt like a feature film! I'd definitely watch another like this!
The Final Fantasy 7 battle theme is a great choice. Pure gold. 😎
Most of the way through the video now, just wanna say I’m loving the music battle montage segments
its funny that she also pronounces wyll as 'while' it just feels better somehow
This was brilliant. Love the editing and the music. If you can convince her to do a part 2, I feel she really enjoy it even more.
Ohh... I loved your wife's description of all characters she's met at around 1:07:00 mark. Bang on. 😆
I absolutely wasn't expecting noobus to make an appearance for BG3. I'm shook.
I adore Baldurs Gate 3, I’m so pleased the Noobus had a great time with it. Thanks for doing such a long video!
I've been really impressed by the montages in this one. The music and the talking is perfectly balanced, the joke an comments come it and exactly the right time to match the music. Just really well done. Good Job!
Brennan Lee Mulligan showing up while you talked about DMs jump scared me.
What an utterly charming video. Very much enjoyed watching the wife learn the game and how they interacted was adorable.
So, this video kept popping up on my feed, and today I decided to just click it and see if it was anything worth watching. And then I watched the whole thing. You guys are so fun to listen to, and so funny! Thanks for sharing this.
Oh, and your soundtrack is on point!
I would pay good money to see her play acts 2 & 3. She’s just so fun to watch!
oh my god, i loved her description of the entire party. so accurate 🤣
The way these videos have been edited is amazing! So entertaining. :) And I love seeing Noobus learning and exploring through BG3. Great video!
I’d watch a whole series of this to the end of the game, you noobus is so funny I love her
omggggg you have NO idea how excited I was to see this upload in my notifs! This was by far my favorite game of last year, and to see such a long video dedicated to it and featuring Mrs Noobus is a wonderful treat!
This is the first video I've seen from this channel but I'm really excited to see more of it! I love watching the wife's approach to the game and it always makes me smile when I see people use creative solutions in such an open world game like BG3. Also the editing is fire! I love the music selection, the montages are smooth with the right amount of full footage added in, and summarized portions still feel like I'm getting all the info I need about what happened in the game and how you both reacted to it. Masterful!
Your wife had more clever ways to kill Minthara, Gut and Ragzlin than me or any of my friends who “know” dnd better. She’s an amazing player props to her
I play this game with my son. We plan to do a playthrough where one of us is Tav, the other Durge, and recruit no companions except for two of Withers' puppets.
now I just want more BG3 with Noobus
Great job findin' a happy middleground with the combat montages. Mrs. Zanders' one liners are top-notch & the bits of action are pretty good considering the genre's lack of theatrics and whatnot.
49:38 The first impression descriptions are so funny. And having to psych yourself up to talk to Bae'zel is a real struggle. 🤣🤣
I need a full playthrough of this, thanks
thx for having the music credits in the description, it lead me to having new songs i like in my playlists!
"we should maybe go and save him maybe probably." XD
Great work on this! Loved the music and editing. It was a very compelling watch.
Every new game is a learning curve. Even as a BG2 player this was a big curve for me. You really have to be motivated and invested in order to overcome the frustrations. BG3 rewards exploration and taking wacky choices. That's not for everyone.
ive been looking forward to this one for a while now, and it didnt disappoint. Im glad she really got into it and was enjoying the roleplay aspect that makes this game stand head and shoulders above many in its genre. this is one of those games where i know she was having fun while playing, and you were having fun watching her play it. The beauty of this game is you could rerecord this on any given day and get a completly different path and outcome. i also have to say i loved the music choices throughout the video. As a lover of JRPG's hearing many a familiar battle themes or background songs play really made me happy. as well as the non Video Game OST choices throughout that really added to the fast forwarded combat sections. if there is ever a day where you and the noobus revist past played games, i believe this would be at the top of my request list, right above hades. i also hope this game breaks the streak of her not playing in her down time as i know personally its a game i love playing with my partner. excellent work as always Mr. and Mrs. Zander. Cant wait for the next one. #LongLiveSnowBlack
The editing in this is excellent, especially the music parts
As soon as I saw the length of the video, I knew she was gonna love BG3!! Can’t wait to watch 🥰
This video is such a treat, thank you for continuing the Noobus Humanus saga!
1:40:43 ??? HOLY SHITT we are in for a treat....
Mate, this was bloody entertaining! Great laughs and mistakes. The perfect playthrough! Thanks for sharing!
oh my god i so much love your videos. Both of you manage to keep me grinning and having fun.
I never played a game that genuinely let me ROLE PLAY like BG3. I loved Skyrim when I was younger but never has an RPG encouraged my shenanigans like this one.
Editing on this is absolutely on point. Great pacing for a playthru.
