    Put some sort of bonnet scoop/ fresh air when driving so it blows on the screw charger, you will be surprised at the temp drop.
    Keep up the good show. Love it

    Yes a group A bonnet painted red would look good. Also I think a big German arobics instructor with a whip is needed. She could supervise Scotty doing a run around the factory block in Dandy every morning before he starts work. Because after Christmas you will be carrying to much weight to make the VN go faster. Also you don't want to have to strengthen the driver's seat or shorten the steering column so you can fit in it.

    I love the evolution of the Carnage cars. Each one of them waiting in line for more mods, like Turbo Taxi sitting there waiting it's turn to run 10's. Merry Christmas Scotty and Matt!

    Well that turned into an episode of Rick & Marty by the end!
    There’s also another supercharged mang on the tube. It’s running 10s, but with a blue bottle in the boot. Can definitely see supermang doing 11s when everything is sorted.
    Have a safe and merry Xmas Scotty

    Supermang goes next level to Frankenmang I couldn't believe those silicone joins sucking in from the intake vacuum that was a first for me to see silicone joins do that I think it looks like you will be welding the proper piping and using silicone joins where they won't be sucked in I know you have a upgraded cam of which I would of thought it would of lowered the vacuum in the manifold but Supermang must have some good compression just a guess but I thought when I saw it before the water plumbing was done it actually looked like a serious mean machine I can't wait to see the dyno figures and again you cut the episode short leave us hanging on the edge of our seats dammit fingers crossed lets see a performance increase :)

    A larger external w2a cooler is the way to go. And weld some elbows to get rid of the silicone.
    External w2a intercoolers using the a2a plate are the most efficient and see far lower intake temps than the under blower w2a plates.
    This is on the right track 👌🏼

    Now I don't have alot of experience with Roots style blowers, so I was wondering how you'd intercool one without a sandwich plate style intercooler, but clearly that's the only way to properly intercool a Roots style blower. I live in the States, in the northeast near Pittsburgh, but I have ALWAYS wanted to get my hands on an old Chevy Vega and do a L67 swap on it and modify it. I did have a 2002 Pontiac Grand Prix GTP and it was comfortable and fast, but it was front wheel drive and even stock it suffered from alot of torque steer. My other Roots style blown car was a 1990 Ford Thunderbird SuperCoupe with the 3.8 supercharged V6 and a Mazda M5R2 5 speed manual. It was alot of fun to drive and quick for the time.

    • @DodgyBrothersEngineering
      @DodgyBrothersEngineering 2 роки тому +2

      Torque steer believe it or not has less to do with engine torque than it does proper diff setup and axle lengths.

    • @hayden6056
      @hayden6056 2 роки тому

      If you end up doing a rwd swap I can source you a GM M90 with a 90 degree bend for the throttle body , I can't tell you if it'll clear the brake booster though as we're rhd.

    Merry Christmas Scotty, glad you got a final video out to watch after Christmas celebrations! It might be a trick with camera angles but when you were measuring the bonnet clearance, it looked like the alternator was much higher and further forward. An optical illusion? Since you were doing a bodgy on it, why couldn't you just grind the snout down enough yourself to get the required clearance? It would be hidden under the pulley too.

    Great work as usual Scotty.
    My son also is watching you and getting ideas, he wants to supercharge his VS v6 wagon, we put an lsd from a v8 ute, the auto box hated trying to spin the 2 wheels and died. We have a 5sp manual to go in but not sure on flywheel and ecu set up. Any help with whats needed for that would be greatly appreciated.

    • @STREETMACHINETV
      @STREETMACHINETV  2 роки тому

      My experience with manual Commodores is limited to driving them, unfortunately

    • @hayden6056
      @hayden6056 2 роки тому

      You need to mirror balance the solid flywheel to the auto flex plate as the balancing is different. You also really want dowel the crank so you don't snap the 1/4 UNC bolts that hold it on.
      If it's the getrag box they're not the strongest so you don't want to clutch dump it or power shift gears.
      You can convert the auto harness to manual just like any other normal vs harness and change the memcal to manual.
      If it's T5 the vss is different and I've never seen a converted harness and auto pcm that doesn't have stall issues at the lights as pcm doesn't realise you've stopped. I've only seen this a couple times and I don't know if there's a fix. I've just sold a couple T5 harnesses to people that have had the issue.

    • @loopyone8347
      @loopyone8347 2 роки тому +1

      All i can say is do it.... its fun 😊
      I have a vx wagon that has the l67 in it with the getrag behind it.
      Also a v8 lsd in the rear 😉
      Treat the getrag nicely as mentioned before as they don't appeciate clutch dumps with boost well..
      And the t5's 3rd is pretty much made of glass and typically destroys everything else in the box when they fail.
      Also clutch wise you'll find standard 6 psi pulley. the stock clutch will cope well in my case.
      10 psi expect carnage...
      I snapped the centre splines out of the friction disc 3 days after pulley upgrade.
      All i did was gear down to get up to speed to enter the freeway....
      Hence why i'm running a button clutch for the last 2 years.
      Crank wise.. i just dowelled the crank at home and sent it.
      Got insanely lucky about the balancing that should be done.
      As mine doesn't vibrate but typically isn't the case for others..
      I was in a pinch and had to get it running asap... and it was not done

    On the engine vacumn sucking the hoses in, dosen't the blower have a bypass? so no boost at idle & under light load, if you where to lockout the bypass would stop it. would work till make a proper intake piping with alloy or steel tube & bends, OR maybe truck turbo hoses, tend to be stiffer/thicker wall,

      The blower has a bypass, when we do it properly we'll do full alloy piping.

    Looks like your barrel intercooler is too restrictive. I advise get a much bigger and higher flow one. Also check if it is directional

      water is a better cooling medium than air so you don't need the same amount of surface area. Although you could be right at high boost those cheap cores don't flow so well, but you won't know that without putting a temperature / pressure sensor at both ends. As for going bigger, he would be better off putting two in parallel if more cooling is required.

      @@STREETMACHINETV it was sucking in the silicone hoses before the cooler. That would be the first point of troubleshooting?
