    9:50 Does the blower have a sealed bearing in the front? If so, it is common for sealed ball bearings to initially expel grease. The faster the bearing is spun the more grease comes out. SKF has excellent docs on this. Sealed ball bearings are not 100 % full, overfilling a bearing leads to higher temps due to friction and breakdown of the grease.

    • @STREETMACHINETV

    Tip
    For storing stuff that rusts
    Grab a bag of wood chip or paper kitty litter and some old socks or small cloth bags or pantyhose and stuff some kitty litter in them to put in with the stuff you’re storing to soak up moisture.
    Why wood chip or paper?
    Because you can also use it to soak up oil spills and then burn it to heat the shop...

    Out of curiosity, when the crank angle sensor died, did you try the pouring water over it to see if it starts trick? It's common when these crank angle sensors shit themselves in these 3.8s that if you pour water over it and it starts it's the sensor that's the issue.

    I promise if you put a second tensioner on you will make more boost with the smaller pulley and also being adjustable you can use the same belt on a couple of pulleys. Pretty sure baz sells a tensioner that will bolt onto the machined snout you have. They don't sound like they slip but they always do and I promise there is boost left on the table without an extra tensioner

  • @DodgyBrothersEngineering
    @DodgyBrothersEngineering 2 роки тому

    Looks like another beautiful sunny day in Melbourne... You may want to keep that smaller pulley handy for when you stick the stroker in it. Not everyone has your smarts when it comes to there being a negative result. Bigger isn't always better (or smaller in this case) but it may be useful once you add a few more cubes. Did you ever sort out that pipe sucking issue? Looks like you still have a rubber hose at the far back.

    Get what you’re saying about genuine parts. So many aftermarket parts now are actually more expensive than OE but not even close in terms of quality.

    Got a Canadian Engineering pre-requisite under feather weight sanctions living on bird seed and boiled flax cellulose pudding... Barrel Plow? drifter plower... see drifter, gets plowed. 4.6 V8 locked up 8.8 and tire chains. 4000 pound thud into the drift one bit at a time, chains for revers not pushing... the 4.6 tares bars off in a few minuets of forward going 4000psi tensile links of the 3/8 are no good, needs 5/8 gr8 for tire chains.
