Question for you.. I fought with auto chart live for 2 weeks after getting my helix 10 g4n. I could never see the colored path on the base map with contour lines as I mapped. Nobody, including Humminbird tech, could figure it out. Then by accident I found out that you have to zoom in to be able to see the depths and colored path as I map. Why doesn't anyone say you have to zoom on all these videos?b
Sir, Will you be working on the mapping / way points to get around above the 147 bridge? one of the older videos shows some lines on your map but I can't find anything for them.
Is there a difference in autochart live, cards. I see different companies being for different prices, I have seen some say there are PRO'S. Wal Wart hve the best price and just was wanting to see if I was getting a good deal
John I don’t guess I was aware that there is more than one, we’ll there is the Zero lines card, which lets you draw maps, is that what your referencing? If your just talking about map cards just make sure you get most recent version, plus V3 or standard V5
@@KenSmithFishing I think I figured it out, I was looking at the zero lines cards, and some said pro, and others didnt, but the pro means PC , so u can download program to ur computer... thanks for reply and all the help with videos on how to's
Good question, the major diff is the hardness, I use it when I have significant time off the water but you are probably correct in the not a huge advantage if you aren’t looking for hard soots
Hey Ken I ve been trying to get on board with this and your vid helps alot. Just to be sure though your saying I just need a zero lines map card and plug it in and start mapping??? Please respond. tks Bo
Great video! Thanks Ken
Glad you enjoyed it!
I've been waiting for this video after watching the GPS transmitter video you made while in your office.
Good stuff keep it coming👍thanks

Chad I never did that, it would take so many way points And you can buy the Lance Vick Boatlanes for 40 or 50 bucks so I did not do it

so you dont really need the pc software to make a good contour map correct? just the zlc will do the job?
The ZLC will give you topo map on your unit, you need the software to build 3D maps on your pc
Ken,I have an 899 and helix 10 will they both work with same card?
Rick I’m not sure on the 899, they worked on my 1199
Hi Ken. Wondering whether the PC software is worth it or just map to the ZLC. From what you mentioned, is hardness about the only advantage?
Good question, the major diff is the hardness, I use it when I have significant time off the water but you are probably correct in the not a huge advantage if you aren’t looking for hard soots
Ken,will this work with Mac?
Rick I don’t know....sorry

Correct, to build and SAVE maps you need the zero line card. Just to make sure, you have units that have live option, yes?
@@KenSmithFishing Yep I have 2 Helix G2N 10" & G3N 10" thanks so much.
What about mosaics
Matt have played with them a little, but I used this for finding hard spots and the down seems to show those better
confusing video
Sorry, probably need to reshoot that one someday
