I've found in shallower water turn Sensitivity down below 10, over say 25ft. of water turn sensitivity up just a bit at a time. This seems to clean up the image quite a bit on the screen. You guys are a wealth of knowledge. Keep up the fantastic educational information highway. Just don't go 4 lanes at one time.

By far the best fishing channel out there....everyone else is playing for 2nd and they always will. I have run out of words to describe how good these guys are but if you're watching them then you already know what I'm talking about.

What helped me with Si was being told to look for structure, pause screen and then adjust Sensitivity and Contrast. That has worked great for me.

Next time, drive by and shoot docks. Have the solex units and love them 👍🏻 good show. What I like to do is go down the banks and just use one side of the side imageing to see full screen toward the bank, try it sometime. From Kentucky

Dude, just stumbled across your channel and I've gotta say, this is one of the most informative and understandable videos I've watched on these units. I'm new to all this technology and really struggling to absorb all the material. Just bought a boat with 2 Helix 9's and I'm fixing to add a Solix 12 my dad gave me! Will definitely be watching more of your videos! Thanks a ton for dropping these here!

Great videos guys! I appreciate the time and energy you guys put into making these videos to help people out on the water! ‼️I have a video request‼️ with the way the water fluctuates so much during this time of year, could you guys do an in depth video of what you guys generally fish and how the fish set up/ react when they go from being up shallow in bushes, cover etc. when the water rises, to what they do and how to catch them when the water starts dropping again. It’s always been a tough time for me to catch/pattern fish under those conditions. Thanks for the fishing knowledge you guys share!

Tim, I’ve owned my Helix7G2N over two years now and probably viewed two hundred videos on how to use the unit. However I must say your video is the first to explain How&When to use thoseures in practi features in layman terms! I don’t consider myself a complete idiot but I probably only get 20-30% of understanding other videos explaining the features in layman’s terms. I hope you go thru some of the other important features that are there also to explain exactly what you are seeing . .
I think now i might have to upgrade my unit to receive the Mega imaging also!!!

Great info for side imaging. I see a lot of videos about down imaging and side imaging and all the other imaging but not many explaining how to set a way point and how to get back to the rock pile of lay down that you saw and have passed it by. Maybe I'm just the only one that doesn't know how to set a way point and get back to where I want to fish. I'm not real tech savvy but if I can find the fish I can put them in the boat.

In general, the TI units are faster in response to inputs. This is seen when quickly switching between sonar, downscan, chart, and split screens ua-cam.com/users/postUgkxeAxH15LxhjGlg5-CRYqjTGTEH0tbY4vk recommend The Hook units will show some lag on button pushes and screen switching. The big ticket item though is maps. If you install a mapping card such as Navionics or the free C-Map Genesis which has a lot of map detail, then moving around the map with the cursor or when running down the lake can lag significantly on the Hook units, but is seamless with the TI units.

I use an electronic bus to power my electric to front units, and power comes from one of my trolling batteries. My console unit power comes from the other trolling battery. I have good power on all unit, which is not disturbed by starting the motor. My wiring is heavy gauge

I have two solex units, and I run little heavier wire running from each one of my trolling motor batteries. Use to start my big motor, and the solex units would shut down and re-start. Now when I start up, they run fine. These new fish finders use lots of power. From Kentucky

I love side imaging in my 999/1199 units and have discovered to side image new spots and down image anything in detail. If not in shallow water you will identify structure and fish incredibly better than side imaging alone. Just my 2 cents.

I picked up a Garmin 93sv with Panoptix Livescope. I spent the last 3 days doing nothing but slow cruising with my dogs in side vu 455 Hz just to mark waypoints on 2 different lakes. I sill have quite a bit more to cover but I feel like I'm going to spend a lot less time casting at nothing in the future. I also practiced flipping to a different chart to navigate to my waypoints. That seemed like it would be easy but it took a little more effort than I thought.
The next time out, I will take a little time turning up to higher frequency and seeing if I can find fish with the side vu and the clear vu. I'm also going to experiment with he split screen 2d sonar to see if I can find the schools of white perch. Appreciate the guidance.
