I own two. A Neptune and a Gemini and love both of them. I've found that the on the on the fly adjustable clasp from Proxima from AliExpress fits the Lorimer bracelet. A San Martin clasp should work as well but the Proxima is unbranded.
Love my Lorier Neptune. It fully scratched my Black Bay itch! The crystal gets a bit dinged but not as bad as people worry. Only needed to polywatch once in the year and a half I’ve had it.
I have the black dial (non-gilt) Neptune III and I think it looks great with some scratches. I’m not usually like that, but I think this watch looks cool with some usage. I polywatch it every year or two if I have big scratches, and it works great
In my book, they are the most cohesive micro brand in terms of nailing a specific style and feel all throughout their lineup, paying homage without copying any specific reference. Lorier, Maen, Vario: These are, at least for me, the best sub-1k micros.

That's a double edged sword. I have the Neptune and I dont feel the urge to buy any more from them. I feel like because I bought one I experienced them all and don't desire another.
I’m so tired about people carrying on about acrylic crystals. It’s easily my favourite material and nothing comes close in terms of aesthetics. It’s super easy to polish out scratches and you basically don’t have to worry about chips and cracks. Domed sapphire never looks quite right. Mineral crystals are the worst of all. They don’t look great and if you do scratch them, good luck polishing them out. Sapphire is fine for a modern aesthetic and whilst it may be scratch resistant, it certainly isn’t all that hard to crack or chip. If that sapphire happens to be on a luxury watch, be prepared to spend up to $1K getting it fixed!
I have owned a total of 5 and I think it’s the best micro brand. I love the style and the fact they are staying true to the time period with the acrylic crystals! It makes a Lorier a Lorier. My personal favorites and ones I’m keeping are SoProd Hyperion Skyward, Falcon III, and Hydra GMT. They’re all awesome! Damn, I’m jealous of the new packaging😳 Very nice!! I wish they had a tooless micro but I’m sure when they bring it out it’ll be appropriate for the design and compatible with the current line.
Ahh, lucky fella! I really like the Hyperion's quiet class and unique look, particularly to the flat jubilee-like bracelet. I especially like the limited white dial one (which I believe is the you're talking about) but I never seem to have the money to splash around when I get the restocking email updates. I'd happily take a black dial one just the same but alas, such is life.
I picked this Neptune up a couple of weeks ago, and I just can't take it off. Remarkably good for the price, and better in person than any photos or videos of it I've seen. I really love what this brand is doing.
I own the Hydra GMT and just ordered the Olympia Chrono they just dropped. Can't wait to get the Olympia. I like Lorier watches because I have small wrists. And ALL their watches fit my wrist perfect. Also they are offering exceptional value for money. It cost Micro Brands a lot more money to get watches made than you think it does. A lot of hidden cost. So I don't think $899 for the Olympia which is using the Seiko NE88 movement is bad at all.
The Olympia with an NE88 is great value, Venezianico’s NE88 chrono is almost 2x the price! I have yet to see a watch with an NE88 for less than the Olympia
It was so weird to hear you say this was based on the Submariner. It looks so much more inspired by the Omega Trilogy Seamaster from 1957! Great watch, anyway.
Look at the comments. People complaining against acrylic, people saying that sapphire is overrated... personally i don't care, but i wonder exactly at $500-plus we don't see a properly domed coated sapphire when the chinese are using these in watches that cost half or less.
Love my Lorier Neptune IV, one of the most visually appealing watches in my collection to wear. Have not had any issues with the crystal scratching so far but I have not been hard on it either. Very happy with mine
Very cute little watch, with really 50's design cues really from a time a little before the classic skin diver period, those hands are very Omega. Nice white lume too, the gilt adds warmth
Own the Hyperion Traveler GMT and agree that the bracelet feels a bit cheap. That said, it wears very nicely on wrist and looks mid century as good as any (even if that trend is a bit played out) Great meeting you in NYC! You, Steve and the team are class acts all! 🙂

Polywatch is the last refinishing stage. You can bring back almost any plastic crystal with fine grit sandpaper and auto polishing compound, regardless of scratches or depth thereof...
I have owned a Invicta Quartz 37mm for three years it is two toned . it cost me $49.00. It is very accurate and looks great. It is more accurate than my Seiko Alpinist green watch. I like both watches . Bought the same time. I don’t think my $49.00 owes many anything. I paid $600 for my Green Seiko Alpinist . It is a beautiful watch. I have had compliments on both. My next Watch is going to be a Nivada Gretchen Super Antarctic in a Black dial with leather strap.

Although I like the way it looks, I'm afraid of the acrylic crystal. I had a diving watch with an acrylic crystal and it got scratched up immediately. I love the big crown, though.
Had a Falcon III for a bit. The case and bracelet were pretty sharp and dug in uncomfortably every time I bent my wrist. If they rounded off those corners more, it'd be perfect.

I like acrylic. I have a $3k Oris with acrylic - more shatter proof than glass or sapphire, and I have only had to polish out one minor scratch over the years.
Completely different packaging from what I got, but you've gained a screwdriver, which is nice! Lovely watches these, but I agree the bracelet is a bit thin/light and could do with more adjustment (at least for my wrist, which goes in and out like the tide). I also wished the gold hands were just a little less bright and (for me) garish in tone, as they felt kind of thin and cheap as a result. Awesome lume though, it's true! Sapphire and a bit more metal and I'd have kept mine, but a Seiko SPB143 came along with just those things and from then on the Lorier's days were numbered...
I have a version I in blue and i'm thinking of changing the clasp (only 2 holes in V1) to something generic from AliExpress with 5 holes. Other than that the old NH35 stil does a good job.
The Héron Marinor, a very similar watch to this, is vastly superior to it. More expensive as well, I realise, but you're getting a better product as a result.

Loved the video Jodi. But I have to say it's great to see acrylic crystal. I don't have the aversion to it that you do. In a tool watch that maybe subject to really hard knocks I would rather a crack in the plexiglass rather than shattered sapphire that gets into the movement causing real problems . Just see what happened to Adrian Barker Rolex Explorer.
I wanted several models from them, but the acrylic crstal prevents me from buying any as well as I saw a review that the rotor is noisy. They have the panda chrono with a seiko movement are all good, however they still sticking with the marketing strategy of calling it “vintage look” acrylic, but for me they are just bringing down the cost, to get more revenue from their end, instead of putting in sapphire.
I really like the dial and bezel, not keen on the rest of it though. The crown looks way oversized, the bracelet doesn't look great quality and the crystal, I can't even bring myself to type my thoughts.
Now thats a handsome piece. Other manufactures can take notes on that case back! If you are going sterile, add just enough to keep things interesting without the entire spec sheet. Not a fan of that type of arrow tip hour hands? Anyone? Just me?

Hey, I have a left field question for you Jody: I love your new GADA from Erebus. The question: why the brand name-Erebus. God of Darkness.. seems way out of character given your reputation as one of the nicest watch guys in the business. I’m just curious; your work is far above the competition. I have to laugh at all the complaints about the crystal. If you need sapphire then don't buy lorier. I bet these are the types that hate to wind a mechanical watch. You guys know there is some really nice quartz watches with sapphire crystals. When you buy a lorier you are buying a piece of nostalgia. I have a falcon III and a white astra. Yes they are 36mm and yes I like watches that reflect the types of watches from the 50's and 60's. I wear the astra at work 95% of the time and the falcon at night and on the weekends. I'm disappointed with you Jody. You are rating this watch based on what it is and not why it is. Have you ever asked why they use acrylic crystals?
100%, I love a good acrylic. The Neptune has arguably the best looking crystal in my collection. I’d take that over a flat or slightly domed sapphire all day on this kind of watch
'To Be Fair...' a diver christal is often more than 1/4" thick - you would have to polywatch it non-stop for weeks to ever wear below the water resistance rating (since most divers are actually 3-4 times as water resistant as their official rating). Whereas one good pop on the front against a rock or other hard surface and a sapphire crystal will disappear into many small (scratch free ;0) shards doing nothing to protect the dial and watch beneath.
You would have to be pretty stupid to be able to shatter a sapphire glass. Under water it is not easy to cause such an impact as the water slows down any movement.
Minus the crystal I'd already have it. I can't get past that price point with a crystal that I'd have to polish all the time. I don't live a sedentary lifestyle 😆

If it were functional due to being a dive watch (i.e. Vostok), I could understand. It makes it feel a bit cheap to me.

I got my first Lorier, a Neptune V2 in early 2019. I'm up to 3 now. I added a Gemini Nero and most recently a Hydra Zulu. Fantastic watches.

Love my SOPROD Hyperion II. I wish they would go back to this movement. The thinness blows my mind every time I put it on!
A stunning piece. A massive fan of acrylic crystals. Classic proportions. I feel a 6 mm crown would suit it better. Finish it off with a tropic strap.

The Invicta Pro diver has this beat . The 1953 version in particular. The 1953 is available for $100.00. Nice watch ,but not $300 plus nicer!

Since SM can provide on the fly clasp adjustment for literally a few dollars, I don’t see why other brands can’t step up to the plate.

Would disagree with that statement. Baltic watches have great fit and finish and extremely accurate, mine is plus 1 second.
